Negative experience: We had a really disappointing experience at this shop, and it honestly started the moment we walked in. The receptionist is the very first person customers see and interact with, so having a welcoming and professional attitude is extremely important. Unfortunately, that was not our experience at all. Throughout our visit, the receptionist was rude, dismissive, and gave constant attitude toward us. What made the situation even more frustrating was that we watched her treat other customers completely differently. She was friendly, smiling, asking them how their tattoo was, and telling them to have a great day. They were treated with respect and kindness. However, when it came to us, the attitude completely changed. There was no friendliness, no courtesy, and no effort to make us feel welcome. Once we were finished, we didn’t even receive a simple “thank you” or “have a great day.” It felt like we were treated as an inconvenience rather than paying customers. To be fair, the piercer who helped us was very nice, professional, and made the piercing experience itself comfortable. We truly appreciated their kindness and professionalism. However, a receptionist represents the entire business, and when the first point of contact treats people with disrespect or obvious favoritism, it leaves a very negative impression and affects the whole experience. We hope management takes this seriously because customer service at the front desk truly matters.

Fantastic experience: Yeva is a masterful artist! Her technique, care, and style is incredible. The staff at the shop are friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean, bright and comfortable. The whole experience at Atticus is truly a pleasure and I would highly recommend it! Especially if you are looking to get your first tattoo :-)

Fantastic experience: Denys did a fantastic job on my 16 year old son’s first tattoo! He first made a stencil to put on so he could check the size and placement which was perfect. He was very professional, courteous and explained everything that was happening and what to do with his aftercare. Very happy!

Negative experience: My sisters and I got small script tattoos here recently and unfortunately the quality of the line work is disappointing. We specifically asked for a senior artist because we knew script tattoos require very precise work. Less than a week later it’s already obvious that multiple lines disconnect throughout the lettering, making all of our tattoos look uneven and poorly done. For such a small and simple design, this shouldn’t be happening. Very disappointing as the tattoo quality does not match what we expected from an experienced artist.

Fantastic experience: The best and warmest environment to get yourself pierced on planet Earth. I’m not familiar with Venus or Mars but I think Atticus would still be in my top 3. Larry is incredible, a national treasure the likes of which Nicholas Cage would try to discover over the course of 90 minutes. The ladies at the front are absolutely the kindest! They made me feel so at home and welcomed. When I’m looking for a new piercing or tattoo, I know exactly where to go. I might go back just to say hi! <3

Fantastic experience: Great time! We were 4 walk-ins late at night while travelling back to BC, they were able to fit us in with no problems, artist were amazing! My two girlfriends had one artist and me and my other girlfriend had Ricky, all four of us loved every part of our experience with the artists and couldn’t believe how kind, skilled, funny, and friendly they were. Receptionist was also absolutely amazing and such a gem! They’re very light with their hands and the signatures for Ria Mae turned out better than we expected! Will definitely be coming back!

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience getting my first tattoo with Stephanie. She was incredibly patient and took the time to guide me through the entire process, which really helped put me at ease. I truly appreciated how she took the initiative to print out several different lettering sizes so I could try them out and decide whether I wanted a bigger size — that extra effort meant a lot to me. During the tattooing process, Stephanie was very gentle and extremely attentive to detail. I could see how carefully she worked on the artwork on my arm, and the final result turned out exactly how I wanted it to be. As this was my first tattoo, I was pleasantly surprised that it didn’t feel as painful as I thought it would, which really speaks to her technique and professionalism. If you’re looking to get a fine line tattoo, I would definitely recommend going to her. Although Stephanie is a junior tattoo artist, her professionalism, artistry, and attention to detail honestly feel more like a senior artist’s vibe. I’ll definitely come back to her again when I’m ready for my second tattoo. Thank you so much, Stephanie! Fantastic experience: I have 30+ tattoos. My tattoo done by Melissa tho is by far one of my best. She is a phenomenal artist and I would highly recommended. 10/10

Negative experience: Very disappointed with the service. My deposit was applied to my first tattoo, yet it was later kept with no clear explanation, documentation, or work done for a cancelled follow-up appointment. Communication was poor, they do not contact you before a deposit expires, and they were unwilling to work with me or do the fair thing when concerns were raised.

Fantastic experience: The reception area was tidy and clean. Felt very comfortable. Kat was my tattoo artist. She is super talented with water colours. She was very personable and made the experience very comfortable. There was a tv in the room in case we wanted to put anything on while getting tattooed but had good conversation instead. Would definitely recommend!

Fantastic experience: I had a first class experience at Atticus. My artist was Yeva. She did such an amazing job. I asked the internet “who does the best fine-line work in Calgary”. Yeva’s name came up each time I used two different search phrases. Yeva inked my mother’s handwriting on my left pectoral muscle. I could not be happier with the service provided by both Atticus and Yeva. And, I will say that Atticus was a very clean environment. Cleaner than some medical clinics.

Fantastic experience: This place is amazing! The reception is very nice and the location itself feels very welcoming. I highly recommend getting a tattoo here. I have gotten two from Mariia, she always gives me a better version of what I originally wanted and sessions with her are very relaxing. I was really scared of getting tattoos but Mariia was really gentle and it ended up barely hurting at all, at least for me.

Fantastic experience: I went with my son to get him a tattoo, and I decided when I was there to get one for myself. Melissa was my tattoo artist that took me as a walk in, she was amazing did a beautiful job on my tattoo I will for sure go back to her for another tattoo.

Negative experience: I recently got hand tattoos done by Steph at Atticus and I'm quite frustrated with the results. The lines on my pink the tulip below my index, and the cross on my thumb are either noticeably uneven, or the ink has already faded after a week and a half. I contacted the artist about these issues, but unfortunately, the response was not helpful, and the problems remain unresolved. While I appreciate their time, I cannot recommend this artist for detailed work, especially on highly visible areas like the hands.

Fantastic experience: I’ve gotten multiple tiny tats here and it’s always a great experience! I just got one from Denys recently with a friend and he was fantastic. He was able to accommodate us quickly, and both our tattoos turned out perfect!

Before starting she made sure the tattoo was exactly what I wanted and placed perfectly. She explained the aftercare thoroughly and made sure I was prepared. Fantastic experience: This was my first tattoo in Calgary, and I had a great experience with Sara! We DM'ed over Instagram and she drew up three different sizes of the design for me to look at, with two different types of lines. My tattoo is now healing nicely. The only thing that was unpleasant (and this is NOT the fault of Sara or Atticus) is that I seem to have had an allergic reaction to the second skin bandage. This was my first time having a second skin bandage, so now I know for next time. I will definitely be back, but will just elect next time to do 'traditional' healing versus the second skin. Thanks Atticus and Sara for a professional, clean and thoroughly explained experience!

This tattoo is a memorial for my cat, Cleo, who passed away in November. I got her when I was 12 years old, and she truly was my world. She was there for me through every stage of growing up, every hard moment, every quiet moment. She saw me start and graduate high school, meet the love of my life, start university, get my degree, get married, starting my career, anything and everything— she was there. When she passed, it was debilitating. I knew I wanted to memorialize her in a way that was meaningful, permanent, and worthy of the love I had for her. I live in a rural area, so I spent weeks researching. I searched through dozens of shops, artists, and portfolios across multiple cities. I thought I had found “good enough” a few times… and then I kept searching. Everything changed the moment I found Sabrina. Her work stood out immediately — not just technically, but emotionally. I knew instantly she was the artist I could trust with something this important. From start to finish, the entire experience was exceptional. The consultation process was thoughtful and thorough. Booking was easy and stress-free. The front desk staff were kind, welcoming, and professional. From the moment I walked in, I felt cared for — not rushed, not treated like “just another appointment.” Sabrina took the time to truly understand what Cleo meant to me. She sized the tattoo perfectly, designed it with intention, and captured my girl in a way that feels so real it honestly takes my breath away. During the entire 3-hour tattoo, she was gentle, patient, and incredibly attentive — checking in often, offering breaks, water, and making sure I was comfortable every step of the way. She answered all of my questions and concerns thoughtfully and never once made me feel silly or rushed. And the final result… I don’t even have words. It is beautiful, emotional, and perfect. She didn’t just tattoo a cat — she honored my Cleo. Having her on my body now is a deep source of comfort, and it feels like I get to carry a piece of her with me always. Fantastic experience: I went for a helix piercing with the apprentice and she was so helpful. She helped explain how certain piercings would not work for me because of anatomy and was so patient trying to help decide which piercing I should get. In the end, we decided to add a helix under the existing one I had and I’m so happy with the choice! It looks so pretty and the process was pretty quick as well!

Fantastic experience: Several years ago my 2 sons and I decided to get matching tattoos recognizing our shared passion for all things Pink Floyd. This year with the 50th anniversary of Wish You Were Here, we felt the time was right, and after some looking around decided to get them done by Denys at Atticus. The entire experience was exceptional. From the minute you walk in the front door, you can tell the shop is first rate. The reception is clean and uncluttered and gives you confidence in the professionalism of the shop. The receptionist was helpful and kind, and efficient at processing our paperwork. As there were 3 of us getting work done, it was estimated to be a total of 6 hours for all 3 of us. As one of us was getting done, the other 2 walked over for a bite to eat nearby, and it was all done in just over 4 hours. Denys exceeded our expectations with our design idea, and was very efficient and organized. He did amazing work with the shading of our design, and all 3 of us were extremely satisfied with his work. I plan on getting some additional work done in the near future and will absolutely come back to Atticus.

Fantastic experience: Larry pierced my conch 6 days ago and it went really smoothly. I ended up having to have the bar switched to a longer one today as I unexpectedly swelled a lot and he was very helpful with that too! He is very responsive on Instagram and is happy to help with any questions you might have. Would go back to see him for my next piercing for sure :)

I gave her my ideas and a space to work around a previous tattoo, she came up with a concept I was super happy with, accommodated my change requests and ultimately gave me a tattoo I’m super stoked with. Negative experience: I've had several tattoos done here over the years and they were fine, but my last two experiences here were disappointing and I won't be going back. Second last time, I was getting some sleeve filler done and the guy seemed like he was in a rush. He just blasted through it and didn't really space out the dots and other filler evenly. Not major, I can get it balanced out with another appointment, but it was still a bit disappointing. My last appointment, I got a finger tattoo done by a "senior" artist which he botched. He didn't punch the ink in deep enough and so it was almost invisible after it healed. When I emailed them about it, their solution was for me to pay full price to have it redone. I understand their policy on finger tattoo touch ups. However, as I explained to them, this wasn't a "touch up," the tattoo didn't fade over time, it was less than 12 days old and the entire tattoo was barely visible. They said I could book in with one of their junior artists if I wanted to save money... Well, if your senior artist couldn't get it right I'm not confident your junior artist will either. Anyways, I went to Royal Tattoo and they got me sorted out. Cam did a great job fixing things up, it's been almost a month and his work looks great so I'll be sticking with Royal from here on out.

Fantastic experience: I had my appointment at Atticus today, the first half of the piece I want. The studio itself is beautiful, absolutely spotless and new looking. It's a lot bigger than it looks from the outside and there are lots of private rooms that each artist uses, which I love. It was nice and quiet, rooms are super clean. There was a tv mounted on the wall to watch, presumably all the rooms have them. The reception staff are lovely, very welcoming and friendly. My artist is Cassidy and let me tell you this girl is pure magic! Her eye for detail is just incredible, my brain can't comprehend how she puts the art on my skin. This is my 5th tattoo by Cassidy, I will not let anyone else tattoo me! Not only is she an amazingly talented artist she is a warm, genuine and kind person. She's easy to work with, open to all kinds of ideas and gives great feedback. I'm back at Atticus in 2 weeks and I already have ideas for future tattoos also. I won't go anywhere else, only Atticus. 10/10 highly recommend.

Positive experience: I came here with my partner for a spontaneous septum piercing, both came out a bit crooked. The lady who was the peircer seemed rushed and not in a good mood, getting a bit upset with my partner when he wanted to come back with me for support, and curiosity. She did her best to do a good job, and be nice to me. Around 6 - 8 months later I came here a second time, heard news from a front desk worker, the lady who pierced my septum before, didn't work their anymore. got a nose peircing from a chill dude, who was cool with my partner coming back with me. This peircing came out perfect. Larry is an amazing piercer, I highly trust his skills. The lady's working at the front desk were very nice and helpful both times, depending what time you come it can get a bit busy, which usually doesn't last to long when so. They also sell a good peircing aftercare spray.

Knew I was pretty nervous due to past experience and that I just wanted to get it over with so he about it fast, checking in with me when I was ready. Afterwards, gave me some space to recover. Didn’t feel rushed at all and felt listened to. Feel confident leaving on how to deal with my new piercings and feel supported and know if I have any issues to reach out or come back!
