Fantastic experience: We recently came across Ally from Heretic Tattoo at the Tattoo Expo in Melbourne. We loved the look of her artwork and booked in for the new year. We wanted some small star constellation pieces as a tribute to a lost family member. Ally was amazing! Very professional and the pieces were beautifully executed. We’ll definitely be back! The studio is an awesome space to visit and all the artists were friendly and helpful.

Fantastic experience: I had a great time at Heretic! I'm so happy with the custom tattoo that Grace designed for me (as a walk-in client). I plan to revisit Heretic every time I visit Melbourne. The shop is easy to find and spacious. Lots of art on the walls and good tunes to occupy your mind while you're having the work done. The front door is up some old, steep stairs, so I recommend phoning ahead if you have accessibility needs (I didn't see an elevator.) Prices were extremely reasonable! There is an ATM very close by, which is convenient. The actual process of being tattooed was easy, straightforward, painless, and fun. Grace is lovely to chat with, and the other artists were all super friendly, too. Healing was very straightforward and Grace's aftercare instructions were clear. I didn't have any ink fallout or patchiness, which is great! Grace, Heretic, and all the other artists will take wonderful care of you, whether it's your first tattoo or your fiftieth.

Fantastic experience: I popped in today to get a spontaneous tattoo during their Flash Fridays. The experience was so lovely. I always get a bit nervous going into a new space but upon walking in I was greeted by two lovely women who gave me the run down, pointed me to all the flash options and were there if I needed them. Once I chose a piece my tattoo artist was also lovely and we chatted about placement and got straight to it. It was so seamless, welcoming, easy, and now I have this great little piece of art on me. I’ve already planned to go back for my next, bigger piece.

Fantastic experience: Grace tattooed me today and I had just the most wonderful experience! From when I first reached out on Instagram, she was super friendly and receptive to my idea and drew a very cute little piece for me. She was able to work with my schedule and slot me in at a very quick time! In person, she was so lovely and really easy to get along with. I felt she was very professional and skilled at tattooing. I felt very comfortable the entire time. I was also able to ask about aftercare - as I have a pretty busy schedule I asked if we could use saniderm/second-skin instead of a temporary cling wrap and Grace was super accommodating and understanding. The studio itself is super cute, as well. I love the exposed brick and plant vibe, and everything felt sanitary, cosy, and welcoming. I would highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I had such an amazing experience at Heretic. Firstly, I wanted to get a tattoo on short notice and they were able to book me in with Grace Blackhall (@imps_ink on IG). Grace was such an awesome artist to have, I wasn't sure on exactly what I wanted so she came up with a design and smashed it & I approved it on the first draft! She's so talented and her hand is so soft it didn't even hurt! I can't wait to get another one at Heretic with Grace.

Fantastic experience: Got my first 2 tattoos here! And I couldn’t be happier with the experience that I had! And absolutely happy with the results. Kyle was fantastic making sure that I was comfortable and happy with placement of the stencils told me numerous times that I can red do the placement many times if I wasn’t happy with it! I didn’t even need to change the placement as he put it in the perfect position straight away! Definitely recommend coming here! Best first experience! Definitely recommend going here for your first tattoo, the vibe of the place was fantastic!

You’ll probably have a good session with anyone at this studio tho (previously I got a tattoo from Gavin as my first tattoo and he was lovely) highly recommend!
