Sam took the time to make sure the design was exactly right and made me feel really comfortable throughout the whole process. The tattoo itself turned out exactly how I wanted — the line work is beautiful and precise. You can really tell Sam takes a lot of pride in their work and pays attention to the small details. The atmosphere in the studio was great too. I was even watching the F1 qualifying while getting tattooed, which made the whole experience even better. Negative experience: I visited the studio for a walk-in and waited for about an hour without being properly assisted. I was initially asked about my design and told to wait, but after that no one approached me again or provided any update on the waiting time. I noticed other clients arriving and being registered while I was still waiting without any clear communication. I cannot comment on the quality of the tattoos since I did not proceed with one, but the reception and customer service experience unfortunately left a lot to be desired. Clear communication would have made a big difference. Update following the studio’s response: I appreciate the reply, however my concern was specifically about the lack of communication during my visit. While I understand some clients had appointments, I was present for approximately one hour without receiving any update about the waiting time or process. Clear acknowledgment would have made a significant difference. Thanks

Fantastic experience: Came to Melbourne by coach and train, no big plans at first. Got off thinking I’d head to my uncle’s place, but Namgyal finishes lectures around 8:30, so bowling was on the cards later. I arrived around 7, had time to kill… and sometimes life uses that quiet time to surprise you. I was walking past Flinders Street, looked up, and across the road I saw it — “TATTOO – WALK-INS WELCOME.” Yeah… I could read it clearly with my new lenses pfft. Something in me said why not? So I crossed the road. I Googled what I wanted, walked in, asked if they do walk-ins. “Yeah, we do.” Showed him the design. “Sweet. Take a seat, your artist will be with you.” While waiting, I opened Crunchyroll and jumped straight to One Piece episode 129. When Pono came over, I showed him the moment. He asked if I wanted it exactly like that. I said yup. Crunchyroll wouldn’t let me screenshot, so he took a photo from his iPad and went off to clean it up. Then he said, “One Piece… everything is One Piece, right?” I said HELL YEAH ❤️ I noticed anime tattoos on his arm and asked if they were Ghibli. He goes, “Yeah brother, I’m an otaku too.” Instant connection. Instant comfort. We laughed. He asked if it was my first tattoo. I said yeah. And he thanked me for trusting him with my first one. That meant more than he probably knows. He shared his Instagram, and the moment I saw his work, I knew I was in safe hands. No doubt. No hesitation. And just like that — an unplanned evening, a random walk, a shared love for anime — turned into something permanent. A reminder of freedom, trust, and following the moment when it feels right. This isn’t just a tattoo. It’s a memory. A story. A mark of something I love deeply. Life really is good. Huge respect and gratitude to @pono_tattoo — you absolutely nailed it. I only see her once every few years and she really wanted a tattoo to remember her trip together to New Zealand and Australia. We got small little lupin flowers and they turned out perfect. Yeni took amazing care of us! I know some tattoo artists get frustrated when two girls come in with simple tattoo ideas.
