Positive experience: I went to CB Ink Tattoo, on a recommendation & research online. This was my first tattoos, so I was nervous. The first of the 2 tattoos, turned out a bit of mess. It was over inked & under inked at the same time. The tattooist was more concerned that he had another client waiting. I took care of it, just the way I was explained to do. It got infected. The second of the 2 was a simple script. I wanted a vivid dark green. It turned out to be like a bland olive colour. I wasn't happy at all with the results. After it healed I went back for a touch up. I went in & my new tattooist was McKenzie. She actually salvaged my tattoos. This is the only reason I gave them 3 stars. Is because of McKenzie's fine work. Which corrected the initial mistakes. Otherwise it would have been a 1 or 2 star.

Fantastic experience: I had Simon and he was amazing! He took the time to perfect the designs, placement and sizes. He has done beautiful job at bringing my tattoos to life. I can't stop staring at them, they're stunning! I walked in to get one tattoo and walked out with two! I will absolutely be back and will be recommending Simon and the team every chance I get. Fantastic experience: I went to Hamish at CB Ink Tattoos for a small hand and wrist piece and I’m honestly stoked with how it turned out. Even though it wasn’t a massive tattoo, he put so much care and precision into it. The linework is super clean, the shading is smooth, and the detail in the rosary beads and cross came out better than I imagined. He made the whole process comfortable and easy, explained everything properly, and took his time to get it perfect. You can tell he genuinely cares about the quality of his work no matter the size of the piece. Extremely pleased with the result and I’ll definitely be back for more. Highly recommend Hamish if you want clean, quality work done right.

Fantastic experience: My artist Corey was a pleasure to work with and did an amazing job. It would of been nice to have an option to speak with him for an hour to get an expert opinion due to being a cover-up and a full sleeve.. just for a few ideas but that wasn't an option, I feel in this circumstances every client should have an option of a 'consultation meeting' but I was only able to commit for an appointment and speak to him on the day, luckily with his knowledge and expertise he made the experience smooth and was so easy to work with. I absolutely love the detail and workmanship. Very happy customer.

It was the most comfortable, welcoming and pleasant experiences i have had getting a tattoo thus far. Fantastic experience: I had a great experience yet again, this would have been my 6th time coming to CB ink and I can’t recommend it, any more. Such a professional establishment, very clean and welcoming. I went to Italo for my tattoo, he has done all my previous work and I couldn’t be happier with how all of my tattoos have turned out. If I could recommend any tattooist at CB ink it would definitely be Italo.

Positive experience: EDIT: I returned to CB Ink for a new piece and, unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. THE STUDIO INTENDS TO PROVIDE A GREAT PRODUCT IN THE END THOUGH. will update later. The artist was polite throughout, which made it difficult to keep pushing back — but this is a permanent piece, and accuracy and execution matter. I sent clear reference photos for placement and it took four attempts to get it positioned correctly without interfering with existing work. I’m very detail-oriented and care deeply about the “1%ers.” I specifically raised concerns beforehand about the foot closest to the sun and asked for the artist’s professional guidance on perspective, not for the reference to be copied directly. Despite explicitly requesting this, the design was essentially replicated rather than interpreted or improved. This piece holds significant personal meaning for me, which made the outcome even harder to accept. Instead of pride, it’s left me feeling disappointed and, honestly, a bit embarrassed. The first image shown to me was presented as a “complete” tattoo. (1st image) When I raised concerns, the artist was receptive and I re-provided the reference (3rd image). The second version (2nd image) was a slight improvement, but the trailing foot now reads as a smudge, with very limited depth or perspective. The hands also unfortunately resemble an unintended gesture, which further detracts from the piece. I later provided an additional reference image (4th image) to demonstrate the level of detail and realism I was expecting. The sketch shown to me on the artist’s iPad matched this reference perfectly and looked incredible — which made the final result even more confusing and disappointing. On the studio’s recommendation, the tattoo was sized larger than I originally requested specifically to allow for greater detail. Under that assumption, the final quality fell well short of expectations. I don’t doubt the artist’s intentions, but the lack of guidance, interpretation, and final execution on something this permanent was a let-down. I genuinely wanted this to be a positive experience, but I left feeling unheard and unsatisfied. UPDATE: CB ink is offering a free consultation with a number of artists on best direction of this piece - shows that they do intend on providing a great product for clients! *some photos are taken in a mirror hence the flipped perspective* UPDATE: No artists were present only a 40% refund was offered. Will not be proceeding with that - have offered them to provide FULL REFUND or to cover costs of lazer removal and touch ups. If they refuse ACCC and office of fair trading will become involved. and will be taking business elsewhere, and seeking all damages and costs to be paid by business through the tribunal. 1st tattoos: Simon was a great artist! It was my first tattoo, and i chose the knee… ouch… none the less… I couldn’t be happier with his handy work. I recommend him for anyone looking for some tattoos!

They had me book an appointment online which was so easy. They answered all my queries and was really easy to talk to. I arrived at their shop, and they were really kind. The place is so clean. They have free drinks which was amazing. My artist i think was sally, she's really great. She made sure i was comfortable and happy with the design & placement. She made sure everything is clean, hygiene 10/10. After the session she discussed the process of the aftercare, & the don'ts. This is my first tattoo, ornamental on the sternum. Amazing quality. Fantastic experience: First time tattoo but definitely not the last these guys were a blast, everything was pretty well done online, booking pre-payment etc was a breeze and stress free, walked In spoke to my stylist for a brief period he made sure I was happy and a few hours later we were done. Fantastic experience: Sat with Kenzie for a custom fine line tattoo of my beloved cat. Her design took all my favourite parts of the reference photos I provided to make something uniquely mine. Fantastic experience: Why Why wait until I am nearly 60? I am the only person I know who has done more than 10 years in the army and doesn’t have a tattoo. All of my kids have tattoos. They will tell you I don’t hate tattoos, I have just never seen anything that I wanted on my body for the rest of my life. Why the Dreamworks logo? When I was raising Logan by myself we went to the movies most weekends and most of the time the Dreamworks logo would be on the big screen. From when Logan was 6, I used to tell him that it was me fishing from the moon. He probably didn’t believe me but he liked to go along with it. So one day Logan says to me he wants us to get matching tattoos and that we should get the Dreamworks logo because it means so much to both of us. He found something I would have on my body for the rest of my life because of how it is a symbol of when it was just the two of us. So there you have it. Now I have this one and Logan has a small outline Dreamworks logo on his ankle.

Fantastic experience: Spent 6.5 hours there in total yesterday with Corey who did my thigh piece. Super fast getting through a tattoo this big but there was absolutely no compromise on quality. Fantastic experience: This was my first tattoo ever. I waited four weeks to have an appointment with Chelsea and I am so glad I waited! She is the sweetest person ever and the tattoo is exactly what I asked for. It's as if the picture jumped off my phone and on to my wrist, a carbon copy! The young person who brought the lollies around after was also really sweet and funnily enough, lollies were exactly what I felt like post tattoo! The only thing I would suggest is that it would help if the staff were aware of when it is a person's first tattoo. It is very daunting to walk into such a large tattoo store and it is very business like and very organised, but you are nervous and intimidated. A bit of support would be greatly appreciated at that initial stage. When I got to meet Chelsea, all of my nerves left me but before that, I was tossing up doing a runner, as I just felt so out of place. That's probably a me problem actually, but it is a review and that is how I felt. Love the tattoo though, it is great work. Well done Chelsea! ❤️

Fantastic experience: I drive past CB Ink and see it on social media. It was my first time going there. The consult is free and booking was easy. They also let you use numbing cream. The studio as a whole was very clean. All the artist take pride in their work and work station. The artists work station was clean before and after a client. Front staff were friendly and professional. My artist was Gina, she was friendly, professional and explained the whole process and tattoo details. She did an amazing job on my tattoo. I will definitely be going back. I had a bad experience at the tattoo expo many years ago, which has put my off for a bit. Thank you to CB Ink and Gina. Can’t wait to be working with you again

Negative experience: I went there to get a fine line white tattoo back of my neck. Cory the male tattoo artist should not be tattooing people! He didn't said he is gonna start or he is opening new set etc basic things. He just started tattooing me where i wasn't even leaning to secure place i was just sitting looking down He just started and i was soo shocked since he has not talked to me or told me anything. just to make sure I asked if it is white ink? first he didn't heard i think no answer I pulled away and asked if it was white ink again and he just stood there with black ink and sighed he said its just black small dots he said and he said he did 4 when i asked which ones he actually did 9 of them mind you it was not dots they were circles much bigger than i imagined he said he will do rest in white and just small endpoints have black dots they were not what he said no fixing he did it in 20 mins was he late for something??? never apologized didn't even talked so much attitude 0 star for him 1 for the receptionist who was kind Don't get tattood by Cory!!!!

Fantastic experience: Dropped into CB Ink to enquire about first time tattoo for my daughter today. Were so welcomed the minute we stepped in. Showed couple of pictures and chat and there was a spot with Chloe. Printed out design and tweaked. She was so calm and reassuring being first time, relaxed even. Tattoo done perfectly. The artist Uly, was welcoming and extremely helpful with my tattoo ideas, but most importantly listened to me and what I wanted. No nonsense once everything was decided and the tattoo ended up better than the original drawing. Studio was clean and tidy with a fairly constant stream of all ages with very different tattoos. Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing experience, super easy process for communicating with the shop. Kate was amazing when it came to quoting and expectations for my appointment. The tattoo shop was clean and professional and created a welcoming atmosphere. My tattoo artist Erwin 10/10, this tattoo was one of my biggest about 6 hrs and he was incredibly helpful and supportive when I came to breaks and completed a beautiful piece for me. Hands down an incredible experience and a pleasure to get tattooed there. Thankyou team !!!

Only complaint is i wish the parking was a bit more accessible but I had no problems finding free parking and really makes no impact on the shop and its quality.

Fantastic experience: I was tattooed by Uly. This was my first tattoo which I got on my side and ribs, Uly was very lovely and made me feel comfortable, he made sure I was happy and certain with the placement. When starting the tattoo he did a small line to give me an idea of what it feels like which I found really helpful. He took his time doing my tattoo regularly making sure I was okay. He let my family member hold my hand throughout. My end result was amazing and I was extremely pleased with the whole service.

Fantastic experience: I had a truly beautiful cat, she was almost 12 when she passed last November. Her doctor gave me her pawprint as a keepsake and I decided to get a copy over my heart. The whole experience was perfect, the parlour was relaxing, my artist was so gentle that I never felt it and the piece is just like the print I have.

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience at CB Ink Tattoo Studio at Lutwyche. The artist Hamish allowed enough time to make sure we were super happy with the design, and placement. He offered guidance and suggestions with the design and helped us make a decision. Hamish's aseptic technique was spot on, making me feel comfortable with the safety and cleanliness of the tattoo. The studio was inviting, friendly and comfortable. Overall excellent experience.

Negative experience: Review Title: Poor Custom Tattoo Consultation – Inaccurate Design, No Flexibility, and Now Ignoring Refund Requests After over a month of detailed Instagram DM discussions where I provided clear references from specific aspects of the IP, explained the concept thoroughly, and asked the team to voice any concerns (none were raised), I paid a $350 deposit and attended my scheduled in-person consultation. Unfortunately: • The artist presented a rushed, low-quality design that was “blocky,” inaccurate to my specified source material, and pulled from wrong elements of the IP. • Despite clarifications, the artist was inflexible, refused adjustments, and seemed uncomfortable with the style. • No progress was made, no tattoo was applied, and I left without proceeding. I’ve since politely requested a full deposit refund multiple times via DM (as no service was effectively provided), but my messages have been ignored—seen but no response for days, appearing to be an attempt to retain the money without resolution. For a studio with such a strong reputation and high quotes ($1450 estimated), the lack of preparation, artist matching, communication on concerns, and now follow-up on a reasonable refund request was very disappointing. Others seem to have great experiences, but mine fell far short for a custom piece. I’d suggest clarifying artist suitability, prep expectations, and refund policy upfront.

The staff were caring and the tattoo quality is great. As a first time goer, my tattoo artist was reassuring, considerate and insightful. Fantastic experience: Had a great 8hr session with Italo recently to do a particularly detailed piece on the calf. Both he, and the studio, were great. Excellent comms with the studio staff initially, in discussing what I was going for, putting me in touch with the best artist for the job and getting relevant appointments booked. Italo already had a good idea of what I wanted, but we spent the first hour working out the finer points of the design and then he went to work. This was a long session. Italo was totally professional, as were the Customer Service staff on site. Excellent music pumping in store. The practices were hygienic, there's food stores nearby and vending machines in the studio for when you need a refuel break. The piece turned out as good as I could have hoped and I am very happy with the result. Cheers team.

From their rapid response to my first contact, personable and supportive planning and booking discussions, communication and understanding by Pukaz of my design, positioning, sizing and finally Pukas's skillful artwork exactly reflecting my vision - I cannot fault this tattoo studio. The vibe and atmosphere was very relaxed from the minute I opened the door. I will definitely be back for ink no. 8 .. and more!!

Positive experience: Had an amazing experience with Simon. He re positioned the stencil 3 or 4 times without complaint when I wasn’t happy with the spot. He answered all my questions and seemed genuinely passionate, and invested in my coverup. There was some issues with the quote I received, which is the nature of tattoos. The reception quoted me a price and then later said that if I wanted what was in the reference photo I’d need to pay more. Although the increase was reasonable, I’d recommend you go with more money than you need in case something like this happens. The artist doesn’t control the price so it wasn’t Simon’s fault at all.

Fantastic experience: I had my first Tattoo piece with CB INK on 3/12/24 with Artist Erwin- He is incredibly skilled and patient and worked with me until I was fully satisfied with the piece before proceeding. The establishment is very professional with exceptional hygiene and friendly team. I chose to travel 5hrs after days, weeks and hours of research and the trip was more than worth it. I highly recommend CB INK and Erwin is a incredibly skilled artist. Cannot recommend higher if you want the best quality work.
