Experiencia fantástica: I cannot express my gratitude for Crystal and Catherine. I went to the shop on a whim for the first time. My conch piercing fell out so I wanted to replace it. I’ve been going through things and was anxious to go in. Catherine immediately put me at ease. She is like a big warm hug personified. Crystal came in and helped me replace my conch. I was so comfortable with her I decided to get my nose repierced on the spot. I had such a AMAZING experience with them, I felt totally at home and I am so profoundly grateful. I will 100% be coming back to see them!

They took the time to explain everything in a way that made my kids feel calm, comfortable, and actually excited instead of nervous. You can tell they truly know how to work with children. Very warm and welcoming which is so rare nowadays. They walked me through the process with great detail and how to care for my new piercings. Everyone is so helpful and friendly, AND they always have a gorgeous selection of earrings (way too easy to find something new and pretty). We've had our ears pierced by Stacey, Oli and Bridgett, and all are just awesome...so great at helping us choose the whats and wheres. And all very particular about cleanliness...they do not mess around! Thanks again, ladies!

Oli was incredibly patient and talked me through every single step. I actually ended up needing glucose tablets during the appointment, and Oli was fully prepared and handled it perfectly. We are definitely planning on coming back!

Experiencia fantástica: 20/10 place! We did a walk in and they had 1 spot for a tattoo. My bf got a cover up and it looks amazing! I got my conch pierced and I lost count the amount of compliments I’ve gotten in 3 days on how beautiful the jewelry is and the placement being spot on! I want to add.. on Sundays they do ear piercings for kids! As I sat waiting for my bf to get his tattoo, I got the joy of watching and listening to the ladies interact with the beautiful princesses that were there to get some jewels for their ears. I have never seen or experienced something so sweet one after another as each princess picked out their favorites color gems! The queens at the counter were soft spoken and patient. Then when they were all checked in… the one queen took the time to ask them their favorite songs and played them! I wish I could removed these beautiful ladies names. But I can’t… but what I will always remember… their beautiful souls! Will be back next year when we go on vacation! Best souvenirs we could have asked for!

Stacey and Crystal are a magical team working with young girls to make them feel calm, comfortable and uniquely special while getting their ears pierced. I took my 10 yr old with her friend for their first ear piercing on Sunday. We arrived at the noon opening and were numbers 8 and 9 on the piercing list. I was a bit disappointed about the wait but was prepared for it. Once we were called to back we immediately knew the wait was worthwhile. Stacey and Crystal are obsessively sanitary, great at explaining the piercing process and their actions, conscientious of the earring sizing, thorough in analyzing the placement on lobes and… SO much fun! (Confession: I was planning on going to a mall kiosk. I’m so happy we went to Whisky River instead!)

Experiencia fantástica: I was a walk in and the lady at the front was very helpful in checking me in and guiding me to what size earring to get. Bridgett the one who pierced my ears was very professional and very informative. She took proper precaution on where to pierce for my second hole due to scarring and cartilage in my earlobe. The place where the piercing took place was very sanitized and clean. During the piercing she checked on me to see if I was okay. I recommend this place. 10/10. Thank you!

Experiencia fantástica: Took my mother who has alzheimers to get her ears pierced here-so she can sleep in the flat backs. While we are waiting, she spills a tray of their earings everywhere. She was SO embarrassed & not one person in the shop was rude. They told her over & over again it was all good. The receptionist (im so mad I cant remember her name) was on the floor picking them up & just still being so comforting to my mom. I love this place. They are the nicest & funnest people ever. They had my mom giggling the whole time.

They weren’t afraid to tell us that we should wait to get more piercings so our bodies had time to heal instead of just worrying about making more money. Everyone was extremely knowledgeable and safety and cleanliness was their primary concern. I would absolutely come back here for anything in the future if we weren’t moving. Experiencia fantástica: Wow! We found Whiskey River on a whim while visiting VA Beach and searching for reputable tattoo places. From the moment we walked in we knew we were going to love it. Katherine (apologies if it's spelled wrong!) was so welcoming and went out of her way to contact an artist to see if our walk-in ideas would be a possibility today, and told us she would give us a call if it worked out. We decided to stick around town, grab some coffee, and wait it out in hopes we would hear something soon. Sure enough, she made it happen, and we were able to be tattooed by the incredibly talented artist Alley (equally personable and a blast to chat with in the chair). We could not be happier with our art and experience. Thank you all!

Experiencia fantástica: I had an excellent experience at Whiskey River. Let me start by saying that everyone who works here is so kind and helpful, and the energy in the shop is great. I am still new to being tattooed, but they made the process very easy and comfortable. They have an awesome lineup of tattoo artists, really I think they have someone for anyone’s style preference! I chose Carson to do my tattoo. He absolutely knocked it out of the park, and I’m so happy. I wanted a moth and he surpassed what I had hoped for. (Will try to remember to add photos of the healed tattoo, I just got it today) Overall I would recommend Whiskey River to anybody. Great artists, piercers, receptionists, and great vibes for sure.

They both have done more than one piercing on me and all of them have healed well, I was educated more about them, and the jewel selection is always great. Experiencia fantástica: I am not one to write reviews very often because I work in high end customer service for the last decade+ so my expectations can be a bit skewed but the service I have been given personally and the service I have observed while in the building can not go without being praised and appreciated. Both Stacey and Catherine are simply the best of the BEST! Anyone who meets Stacey for more than five minutes will understand why she is top in her field. She is passionate, kind, thoughtful, funny as hell, knows her shit and a million other things I don’t have enough time and space to type up. Girl you know I LOVE YOU! She makes spending money on body jewelry and getting new piercings so easy and fun. I leave with zero buyers remorse every single time (which has been about 5-7 visits just this year alone) Catherine I want to especially highlight because she is truly a shining light in that building as well. She has the absolute most incredible personality every single time I am there. She is so much more than a lady behind the counter and all my personal experiences with her have been nothing short of amazing. That being said, watching her interact with other customers while waiting for my turn has left me picking my jaw up off the ground. She was so attentive, open, knowledgeable with every single person she helps. She overcame objections, shared in the excitement, gave advise and recommendations, listens to concerns, came up with solutions all while have that wonderful smile on her face. I will always be coming back and knowing I get to see the two of them makes my heart that much more excited and to the owners…. make sure to appreciate and be so incredibly grateful to have two one of a kind ladies in your building. The moment she walked out from the back I was like, that’s our girl, and she wholeheartedly took care of us. Our daughter’s ears were pierced years ago at the mall and were done crooked. Oli re-pierced her first hole and made them symmetrical to make this Mama (and daughter!) happy. She also did a stellar job on her second holes. She was personable, knowledgeable, and absolutely just SO so so sweet. I felt like we walked out besties. I cannot say enough about her practice and passion to her craft. You can tell that she loves what she does. If you’re lucky enough to get Oli, you’re in the most capable of hands. She made our daughter feel so special. A wonderful experience from start to finish.

Experiencia fantástica: So I am TERRIFIED of needles (I didn’t even get an epidural bc it was a needle). I almost broke my friend’s hand getting my nostril. My tattoo is all messed up bc I was shaking so hard and crying. So yeah always been terrified. @olimus.prime at @whiskeyrivertattoo made me feel SO comfortable and eased my nerves, talked me through EVERYTHING, kept asking if I was okay.. SHE IS AN ANGEL! Once this heals I’m going for my other nostril, and I’m not even scared! Everyone there was lovely and the whole vibe was warm and safe! Her apprentice was amazing too, I’m sorry I didn’t get his name! Just the whole experience was WAY more than I could have expected!!! I CANT THANK YOU GUYS ENOUGH!!!!

Experiencia fantástica: If you are a parent of young kids who want their ears pierced, it's tempting to take them to a mall chain and get it down quickly. But here's what they never tell you: it is IMPOSSIBLE to sanitize a piercing gun! And piercing guns hurt like hell! This is why I brought my six year old to Whiskey River Tattoo. Stacey made my six year old feel empowered and safe. She explained the entire process, each step of the way, and treated my kiddo like the boss that she is! And here is the best part: the other piercer, Crystal, came in for the actual piercing, and they did both ears at once. So it was over in a snap, and my kiddo got a super sweet goodie bag after. If you want your kid to feel empowered, in control, and safe when getting their piercing, bring them to Stacey at Whiskey River. It's worth the drive, trust me.

Experiencia fantástica: I recently recommended Whiskey River to some friends to get piercings at, we walked in and were greeted very nicely and the environment is so welcoming! once we were checked in it was time to pick the jewelry. I was having a really difficult time figuring out which piece of jewelry i wanted, Wes helped me narrow it down and find a beautiful piece in my price range. We waited while our jewelry was being sterilized, Oli was giving us updates and letting us know when we would be able to go back. It was time to get pierced, Oli was so amazing. She was letting us know what she was doing, and all over very kind. The process was very quick, but also thorough. Oli is very professional and i have full trust in her when she was piercing me. A week later, my piercing was bothering me, giving me headaches and just causing a lot of pain because the bar was too short. I called and they didnt hesitate to have me back in the next day to get the bar changed for a longer one. Oli changed it for me, shes was very quick and efficient and im very impressed by my experience here at Whiskey River, I’ll definitely be back for more. thank you Oli and Wes for everything :)

I make 1+ hour drive to Whiskey River specifically for the amazing soul that is Stacey Schiff Thiel. Stacey is an APP member which means she knows what she’s doing and is extremely skilled, but she also has an incredible eye for the most wonderful and unique jewelry. I’ve had the privilege of Stacey piercing and styling my ears, and I cannot say enough about how much I’ve loved the process. Each time she rearranges and adds to my ears, I leave stunned by her vision and execution. I’ve also never received so many compliments on my piercings from total strangers! While Stacey makes you look cool as hell, the best part is how she makes you FEEL. Stacey treats everyone with genuine kindness and excitement, making it obvious that she loves her work and is passionate about giving you a positive and memorable experience. Beach & looked up a piercing establishment 2 put new jewelry on my face dermal & found 2..so I went to the 1st one & what a mistake that was..the worst experience I've ever ever had I was literally traumatized..it hurt so bad I mean the pain was horrific & I knew something wasn't right, so as soon as it was over I almost ran out of there bc I just needed it to be over..the jewelry he put on was crooked & not all the way screwed down & he did all this with his fingers..I left & went directly here & that was the best decision I made..I walked in still crying from what had just happened & these ladies went above & beyond 2 help me, especially Olivia "Oli" Baker who did the piercing & the sweetest lady I've ever met (Stacy) who I was told is the Boss Lady & runs things & she literally showed me that by taking care of me & the bill..wow..they're establishment was ran so well & everything was very clean, unlike the other place bc they never cleaned the piercing b4 or after..what a great experience I had here & not just bc they comped everything but bc of these 2 ladies..so if you're looking for an honest, clean & professional place, you've found it..thanx again Whiskey River Tattoo for EVERYTHING..

Experiencia negativa: I’m leaving this review as someone who was only there to buy new jewelry NOT to get pierced. I don’t recommend this spot for that at all. First of all, my new jewelry I bought TODAY already BROKE. I’ve been buying cartilage/ tragus pieces for over 10 years, all different caliber of pieces from cheap to 14k gold. I’ve never had even the cheap stuff fall apart like this so huge let down ESPECIALLY given it took over an HOUR to just buy the freaking thing. I would understand that kind of wait if you’re GETTING pierced and just walk-in but that’s wild for just buying the jewelry especially when piercers are just hanging out outside. I’ve been buying pieces for over 10 years and have never had an experience as poor as today’s. I expect so much better from a tattoo and piercing parlor.

Experiencia fantástica: Don’t write a lot of reviews but had to for this one, wow A+++. We brought our daughter in today to have her ears pierced on Sunday walk in. From the moment we entered we were amazed at the professionalism of all of the staff. We were greeted at the counter and they made our daughter feel so comfortable. We selected earrings and then waited for our turn. Stacy called us back to the piercing area which was spotless and you could tell they took their sterilization process seriously. Stacy explained every single thing to our daughter and walked her through the entire process. Then Krystal came in to assist and they pierced both ear’s simultaneously. They really are the “piercing ninjas”. They thoroughly explained all the needed aftercare and answered any questions we had. They even gave our daughter a goodie bag and a certificate of bravery! The entire process was maybe an hour total. So glad we went this route it was worth every penny. An overall amazing experience couldn’t imagine anything better. Thank you guys so much for your expertise and professionalism you made it a great experience for our daughter. Yall are rock stars. 10/10 would def recommend to anyone looking for an easy experience. (Sorry if I misspelled any of the names).

Experiencia fantástica: I came in on Monday for some lobe piercings and a change-out in my nose, and I had the BEST time! Not only were they extremely helpful but I just felt like I was hanging out. Katherine helped me pick out my jewelry, gave me some plant cuttings (!!!), and made my friends and I feel so welcome! Tatiana and Crystal did my lobe piercings in tandem and spent extra time making sure they were centered/marked perfectly, and just made me feel really comfortable. Everyone here has the best energy, and this was the best experience I’ve ever had for any tattoo or piercing. I was already a returning customer but now I won’t be going ANYWHERE else. Thank you!!!

Experiencia fantástica: My husband got a large half sleeve done here a few years ago and he was very happy with the artist's work and the studio. I recently attended a partner piercing event where one of their piercers here did my upper cartilage piercing. I came back three months later (last week) to have the back changed, have it looked at and cleaned, and have a shorter flat back put on. They were very welcoming and checked me in quickly and had me in and out in no time. All the paperwork was on the up and up - they made a copy of my photo ID - and Bridget (sp?) the same piercer I had at the event, was the one to change out my back. What I love is that they will do it specific to your anatomy so it's a perfect fit. All that, including the back, for $20. Well worth it. Bridget and all the gals I spoke to were very kind and helpful. They have a ton of body jewelry to include high-end gold and diamond pieces as well as more affordable crystal ones if that is your jam. If you want to see some of the tattoo artists here - go to their instagram and take a look! Highly, highly recommend! I'll be coming here for all piercing-related needs and any future tattoos.

She is extremely educated, pays attention to detail and is an efficient and talented piercer. I really enjoy our time together whenever I go in to Whiskey River. I’ve also gotten to meet Stacey as well and worked with her now too and see what an awesome manager she is and really promotes education and care within the piercing team. I appreciate the dedication these women gave to their craft. I would recommend either of them for piercings and curation 100000000%

Experiencia positiva: This shop is either hit or miss. I got 3 tattoos from here and one of them I love but the other 2 are just meh. 1 of them had a lot of the lines fall out as well as the lettering in the tattoo I got is uneven. Not to mention that the dude charged me 200$ for a tattoo that took him literally 10 min to do. Overall it is a alright place to go but I wouldn’t recommend doing walk ins and would advise you to make an appointment with one of their better artists.

Stacey and Oli are absolutely lovely and made the experience so much fun and relaxing! Stacey is incredibly creative and came up with amazing placement and pieces to complement and continue my ear curation journey! :) Would 10000% come here for piercings! Will definitely return for more piercings in the future.

Experiencia negativa: Went in to buy jewelry to put into my ALREADY PIERCED nose piercing and was told that they wouldn’t put the jewelry into my nose because I’m 17. Other shops asked no questions and switched out my jewelry for me so my already stressed out self that lost my jewelry was then told that they were unable to put jewelry in my nose because I’m 17 left me frustrated and upset. I have heard terrible things about this shop from septum’s being piercing incorrectly multiple times in a row and piercers seeming uninterested in doing their job. After this experience I will not be coming back. On top of everything the girl I talked to was condescending the entire conversation. I don’t know if she misunderstood what I was asking for or just didn’t want to do it, but I know they could’ve.

Experiencia fantástica: I’m gonna try to keep this short! I’d consider myself a regular here. I’ve gotten multiple piercings and tattoos here! Here are my reviews of everyone I’ve had the immense pleasure of working with. TL;DR: everyone here is awesome and if I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Oli - helped change out my piercings, pierced my high nostrils, eyebrow, and were working on my second set of nipple piercings. She is always SO excited to perform the uncommon stuff and is the QUEEN of symmetry Stacey - assisted Oli with placement and piercing of my second set of nipples. She’s insanely knowledgeable and overall amazing to work with! Crystal - pierced my philtrum (Medusa). She took the time and gave me the option to center it with my vertical labret or my actual philtrum, which was awesome. The overall experience was very professional. (All the piercers I’ve seen always talk me through the process and keep me distracted from the pain) Noah - has anyone said INSANE line work? He did the song quote on my ribs. He made the sucky process of a rib tattoo as nice as possible. It’s my only meaningful tattoo, and I’m glad he had it come out so perfect! Carl - did the capybara on my leg. I suck at picking favorites, but if I HAD to, it’d be the capy. I went in not having any idea of what I wanted for the style and he blew it out of the water. The detail?? To die for. Overall, I love this place. The atmosphere is amazing, the front desk workers are also super bubbly and answer all the questions I could ever ask. I recommend here to anyone wanting a tattoo due to their wide variety of artists!

For having 5 piercings and this being my first professionally done one, this was a great experience! I almost passed out (my own anxiety lol) and they were extremely quick to help me out! I also got a piercing done by Oli, super awesome to work with and the piercings are beautiful. The atmosphere the staff here provides is very welcoming which in my opinion is very important for a piercing/tattoo shop. I literally will never go anywhere else lol.

Noah did my tattoo (script+a little finger touch up); he listened, welcomed feedback, and was just generally very chill to be around. I literally didn’t even realize he finished my tattoo! Excellent pricing, atmosphere, people, art, etc. We’ll be back!

Experiencia fantástica: UPDATE: 1 year later I came back for a tattoo. The staff are still as friendly and kind as ever. Noah did my tattoo and it went incredibly smoothly. A lot of care was put into explaining the healing process and keeping thing clean and sanitary. I can now confidently say that I would recommend WR for any piercing or tattooing needs! First of all...this place has the NICEST staff ever. They were all so fun to joke around and chit chat with. The rooms amd instruments are all cleaned thoroughly. They patiently explained things, and walked over jewlery options, colors, and placement with my friend and I. Oli did my piercing and it was the quickest, most pain free piercing I've ever had (after years of bad piercers). 10 out of 10 recommend. I have never felt more comfortable in a place before.

Experiencia fantástica: We had an incredible experience getting our daughter’s ears pierced at Whiskey River Tattoo and piercing. I had previously gone in to inquire what we would need to get the piercing done and the staff was very friendly and informative. On the day of, the staff went above and beyond to make our daughter and ourselves comfortable throughout the entire process. The staff are wonderful, knowledgeable and truly care about the people that come into the shop.

Experiencia fantástica: I got pierced by Oli last night, and what an incredible experience. I did not at all ever feel uncomfortable and actually she offered a couple of times that if I wasn't sure or comfortable there was no harm in backing out, while also being the most awesome person to hype me up to do it once I was sure. Aftercare was thoroughly explained and gone over I felt so comfortable even walking out the door knowing the best way to care for my new piercings. The whole shop was so clean and everyone I interacted with was super nice. The selection and quality of jewelry is amazing, and from start to finish and everywhere in between every single thing was explained to me and never once did I feel rushed out the door. I will NEVER get a piercing anywhere else.

Experiencia fantástica: i’ve been going to Whiskey River Tattoo for a little over a year now and i cannot recommend this shop enough. from several nose piercings and a couple tattoos, i’ve had some of the best, welcoming, and comfortable experiences here. Stacey and Oli put so much time and care into their work…so much so that i won’t get pierced by anyone else. everyone in the shop is very nice, the only bad part is that i can’t stay and talk to them all day. if you live in the VB area and have a little extra, i highly highly recommend getting something done here… you will not regret it!!

The girl that did my piercing was Crystal, she was very nice and made the piercing super quick. I decided to go to Whiskey River to get my piercing after taking my daughter last year to get her ears pierced.
