Fantastic experience: One of my helix piercings fell out but I was able to make a quick pit stop here near their closing time and were happy to help me out! It was a little closed at the time so it hurt, but the red/black haired lady was super nice and made the experience a lot better.

Fantastic experience: Johny Vasquez(Mommasboy Tattoo)is hands down the best tattoo artist I've found in Austin. Johny made the entire process stress-free and answered all my questions, walked me through what to expect, and created a super sick custom design of a snake tattoo on the spot exactly how I envisioned. His attention to detail in black and grey work is exceptional- every line is precise and the shading is flawless. He took the time to understand exactly what I wanted and delivered beyond my expectations. My snake tattoo gets complimented almost anywhere I go now. The black cat tattoo he did for me is also a big hit every time I go out! If you're looking for a tattoo artist in Austin, Johny is my go-to.

Fantastic experience: Great experience stopping in as walk ins. Visited Austin for the first time and found this place based on reviews. It wasn’t busy, maybe bc of location not on the strip… able to get in right away as a walk in on a Thurs pm. Both my partner and I worked with the same artist and were able to get custom designs from photo inspo we showed him on our phones. Nice people. Clean shop.

Negative experience: Came inside looking to purchase some body jewelry. Decided to leave after 20 minutes of waiting for help that never arrived. Disappointing.

Fantastic experience: Macy at Atomic Tattoo - South was a lifesaver when my daughter needed a replacement nose ring. We arrived anxious after my daughter struggled with a hoop ring she didn’t like. After an hour of frustration, we sought professional help. Macy listened without judgment and quickly resolved the issue. In just 15 minutes, we left with a user-friendly nose ring. The shop is clean, the service is efficient, and the staff are incredibly supportive. We were relieved and grateful for their help.

Negative experience: I had a really disappointing experience at Atomic Tattoo South with Jimmy. I was quoted $300 for a leg tattoo and told it would take around two hours. However, the entire session felt extremely rushed. The stencil was poorly placed, and I assumed he would adjust it and let me check it in the mirror—but before I even got a chance to look, he started inking my skin without any warning. I specifically asked him to ensure my existing tattoo would be incorporated properly into the new design, but unfortunately, the final result didn’t reflect that at all. The session, which was supposed to take two hours, was wrapped up in just one, and the final design didn’t match my original request. For the price and the experience, I expected much better attention to detail. Definitely disappointed. I'm going to see another artist to get my tattoo fixed.

Fantastic experience: Decided to walk in with my wife for her to get a couple dainty fine line tattoos. We had went to another shop previously but the artist wouldn’t go as small as she wanted. Johnny V. at Atomic was incredible and got it done exactly how she wanted. His fine line work is incredible and he was such a fun hang. Negative experience: Went in here to get a new piercing fixed (got it done somewhere else). But the guy running the front is extremely rude and condescending. I was in here for less than 5 minutes and was uncomfortable the whole time. I sat down for a min got up and walked up. Y’all lost someone who potentially could’ve been a loyal customer had your desk guy had better customer service skills. I am NOT speaking against any piercer or artist- I didn’t even give it a chance bc of how uncomfortable he made the whole atmosphere.

Negative experience: Lady truly couldn’t have seemed to care less. Didn’t feel welcomed. That’s its own issue. I called ahead of time to ask what the age requirement was for a nose piercing. She said 13 and didn’t tell me anything about requiring a school ID which my kids school DOES NOT give them. Rules are rules but she could have informed me of that on the phone and saved me the 30 min drive.

Fantastic experience: I visited in the hopes of a coverup and some additional pieces. Jimmy did an amazing job!! Great conversation and even better work. I will definitely be back soon!

Negative experience: Do not trust Laura or Joey. My girlfriend and I went there to get piercings and were told there was a 1.5 hour wait. Then we were told to head over to dinner or a local pub and come back. When we got back, the pretended we had never been there and put us to the back of the now 2 hour line. I’m sure they do great work but DO NOT LEAVE. No matter what they tell you because you will not get service. When we called to complain we were told they don’t have management but every independent contractor is told not to do that. If you want a reputable place, go to Platinum Ink. Don’t believe anything hey tell you at Atomic.

Fantastic experience: If I could give Jorge more stars I would in a flash! I’ve been getting tattooed by Jorge for the last 5yrs and I have never had any complaints. He’s super friendly, patient, and understanding of what type of design you’re looking for. If you are the type of person who is hesitant of dealing with a “blunt, pushy, don’t give a fac about what you want” tattoo artist, then go see Jorge. He’s all smiles and laughs. Plus his playlists in his studio are enjoyable!

Negative experience: When I got my navel piercing done here, it was the most painful thing I had ever experienced in my entire life, and I've had my face mauled by a dog before (with strings of dead flesh hanging from my lip). This was my first piercing I've been told by others that that level of pain for a navel piercing is absolutely not normal. My piercing is also lopsided (no one else can notice but me, thankfully) and the piercer blamed that on me thrashing from the pain. Apparently from what others told me, a navel piercing is supposed to be so quick that by the time you feel the pain, the piercing is already finished. Pain so intense or extended that you are thrashing is not normal.

Fantastic experience: My daughter and I had such a great experience at Atomic Tattoo South with Ian. Highly recommend both Ian, as he is an amazing artist and tattooer as well as the shop, as it is very clean and welcoming. My daughter wanted matching tattoos for her birthday and provided a photo of a design. Ian quickly created the design accurately and with his own style that made the design even more beautiful. He was efficient, kept everything squeaky clean, listened to feedback and color requests, and did an incredible job. We couldn’t be happier with the results. Fantastic experience: *edit edit edit My piercing has managed to stay in. I guess I got it in a good spot *edit of the edit, i think i accidentally deleted the reply because i made it from 1 to 2 stars cus *edit I just wanna say that this place is not bad and that the tattoo artists are great and the staff is really friendly, but I just wanna be real, I probably won’t be getting another piercing here because :: it will 100% fall out on the first day and fall out like 1 million times in 1 week. I’ve gotten it within the past month and it’s fallen out like six or seven times now, I had to go back twice and get a new ball, but literally my ball has fallen out like 5 times and this time it went down the drain, if you want to get a piercing here or get it replaced just know that 100% it will fall out and you will lose it eventually JUST from doing every day normal activities that everyone does. For instance, brushing your teeth or shaving: say goodbye to that because your piercing ball will fall out from the littlest shit. And I had to put my piercing back twice because it fell out now, I’m really considering just changing it with my old one, but I spent $60 on this useless septum that always falls out. Tattoos are good tho

Fantastic experience: I’m specifically reviewing Jorge at Atomic. I’ve been working with him for the last ten years now and have followed him from other shops. As a woman it’s important to me that he has never been creepy or made me uncomfortable in any way even when getting tattooed in sensitive areas. He is also kind and not judgy about my ideas when it comes to the art. He is a rare gem in the tattoo community. Oh and his art is absolutely top notch.

Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience at Atomic Tattoo when getting a septum piercing. The gentleman at the desk was pleasant, the shop clean and pretty damn sensory safe. I believe my piercer's name was Kaitiyn, and she was incredible! Super knowledgeable and very patient with my nervous questions and fear of needles. Lol We discussed the best jewelry options for my metal allergies and after care for weaker systems and allergies. Google is one thing, but asking someone who knows their stuff is great. I've always wanted my nose pierced and it was just a great experience. Short of telling my mom for me, I couldn't ask for anything else.....

Fantastic experience: Totally pro with clean friendly environment. The artists are all very talented and with none of the typical attitude that’s all too common in the tattoo world. The vibe reflects the laid back relaxed attitude of South Austin but in a very professional environment. Check it out, you won’t be sorry.

Negative experience: The tattoo artist didn’t seem to want to give us a small ring tattoo. Anything that we suggested he had a negative come back didn’t give any suggestions except “do more research”. We definitely seemed to be bothering him.

Fantastic experience: Got my vertical labret here by Leo. Super professional, took it slow with me (was my very first piercing), explained what he was doing, and made me feel comfortable. I spoke up about placement and we fixed it and he agreed it looked better afterwards. Definitely will go back again when I’m in Austin! They had a decent selection of jewelry, as well as multiple tattoo books to look through. Staff made me feel super comfy. 10/10 for a first piercing experience!

Positive experience: Mommas boy saved the night. We were walk-ins and the initial artist had such a bad attitude and made us feel like we were an inconvenience that I wasn’t even going to get my tattoo. But mommas boy(never got his name ‍♂️) was personable, friendly, and a great artist. I will definitely be back to see him! (Would be 5 stars without the negative experience at first)

Negative experience: If you are going to get a piercing at this location PLEASE BE AWARE, make your own research and find someone you can trust. Unfortunately, I had very bad experience with Joey as she downsized my 8 weeks piercing to the wrong size backing and my lobe felt like it was going to fall off. Till today I’m still treating it, main physician involved now, because of a silly mistake. This whole situation felt very weird from the beginning since she was unsure on whether or not my the piercing needed to be downsized which made me hesitate, as an artist it’s your job to be able to identify that. I pointed to her that the artist who pierced my ear worked the morning shift and sent me to her ASAP since the perforation had been bleeding a little bit (which now I know it’s normal sometimes since it’s still healing). Finally once my ear started peeling, getting swollen and bleeding, I called to be seen by the initial artist, since Joey was on the phone, we got to communicate through IG so I could share the pictures of the problem with her to what she replied “the backing does look a tad small”… it was almost perforating the back of my lobe at that point. Since I live almost an hour away and the free service they offered me wasn’t worth my time or Uber costs, I decided to contact my artist who lives closer and I trust, I was told this was something that was completely avoidable had this person just not downsized to such a small backing or not downsized at all in that moment. Ever since we have been babying this perforation and it still gives me trouble on the same side that it got wounded by this artist’s bad decisions. In conclusion, make sure you go with someone who has experience enough that can make the right calls and you can trust, not just someone who “the friend of a friend suggested”. EDIT: just took the “gold” jewelry they sold me for $140 and it’s literally anything but gold

Positive experience: Not the best. Reception guy was awesome. Tattoo guy was not! Not only he got so mad and offended when I asked to add lighter color that would take 2 mins, he was all like "it won't matter in 20 years" which is something a parent would say to talk you out of getting a tattoo, and not a freaking tattoo artist!!. Actually that part was funny I had to hide my laugh and just replied that it's making me happy now. Tattoo job is 7.5/10. Still healing so I can't tell fully but would be scared to ask for a retouch.

Fantastic experience: Had my tragus and daith on both ears pierced January 27th by Kieran. Very clean,professional. Made me feel comfortable the entire time. Took their time, did not rush at all. Instructed me thoroughly on aftercare; as well as what not to do. Reception staff was very friendly and professional as well. Highly recommend Kieran.

Fantastic experience: I'm on vacation and I was a walk-in yesterday and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Sam was incredibly kind and helpful throughout the entire process and made me feel as comfortable as if I were home. I got just a simple script, but he helped me to figure out the format and positioning perfectly. My tattoo came out great and I couldn't be happier. Negative experience: I was really disappointed with my experience here for my piercing. The placement of my piercing was off and when I had gone back to see if there was anything that could be done they told my I had an uneven face and large ears?? It was just an overall unprofessional experience. No refund, What bothered me most was the lack of follow-up; they seemed uninterested in ensuring everything was healing properly. Do not go here

Negative experience: This is a warning . I stood in line for 20 minutes w/o any acknowledgment needing assistance with a nose ring. A “Palm colored “ women walks in and is immediately greeted and in full Conversation. I would say that I felt incredibly dismissed and overlooked but this is a common experience for me. I had to assert my voice loudly to get attention and assistance . Take what you will from this post but I advise anyone of color to stay way from this location.

Fantastic experience: The environment is welcoming and beautifully decorated. I was tattooed by Martha, who was incredibly maticulius and patient. She has a smooth rhythm and calm energy. She was done tattooing before I even knew it.

Fantastic experience: My piercer was calming and educational. I got my nipples pierced and, while painful, it was a quick and easy process. She asked for my consent between the two piercings. I felt very taken care of. It's been a week since my piercing and I've had no issues with recovery. No blood and hardly and 'crusties'. I can't remember her name (it all happened so fast and I was riding the adrenaline high). But I will be back to this establishment in the future.

Fantastic experience: Went and saw Tricia and she was amazing at piercing my nipples. I was nervous and she talked me through the whole process. She was not pushy and asked consent between each one to make sure I was good. She was fast and it didn’t hurt half as bad as I thought it was going to. I will be going back for more piercings. Fantastic experience: I got my eyebrow pierced in late April by a girl..she did an awesome and amazing job and i didn't wait long at all. 4 months later I came back to get a new eyebrow ring installed because I lost the ball trying to reinstall it myself. Fantastic experience: Ian did an amazing job on my koi fish tattoo that took almost 6 hours to do! I was able to get the complete deal which he said was rare since he normally does different appointments for it like the outlining, coloring, etc. Since I'm from Iowa on vacation he was able to get it done for me which I truly appreciated! This is my second time here, the first time was 4 years ago and I got a scooby doo tattoo with a cowboy hat. Definitely would come back and it's not too expensive either!

Not just copying and pasting a drawing on your skin but creating art. Trisha Brewster is the best piercer anywhere. I'm looking forward to my next appointment to finish my piece

Negative experience: Had great tattoo done here 2 years ago..And was told lifetime touch ups no charge.. lies wasn't true..I'll never have art work done again at Atomic..

Fantastic experience: Kieran was awesome!! We came in at 11 so it was close to closing but he still took time and great care of us!! The piercings came out awesome and we had fun laughing and joking around with him

Fantastic experience: Tricia did gems on both sides of my nose & she was awesome! Super friendly, informative, and fast. If you're a woman & want to go to a shop with a lot of friendly ladies GO HERE. Literally everyone that works here made me feel welcome unlike a lot of shops.. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Well I guess not my experience but my daughter she got her ear pierced and her experience was wonderful Patricia did a wonderful job and she loves it and here a picture everyone will have an opinion of a place that they like I did my research and a lot of people recommended Patricia considering it was going to be my daughter's first big piercing at least for her it was a big one considering she has no other piercing and before you run makes a comment she is 20 years old

Fantastic experience: My friend and I walked in to get nose piercings and the whole process was very organized with little wait time. The piercer was nice and knew what they were doing. My friend got a nostril piercing and I got my septum.

Fantastic experience: Got a second set of piercings on my ear lobes about a month ago and I love them! I did not experience any infection and they healed nicely! I will definitely come back for more piercings in the future! Very professional place :)
