Fantastic experience: Walked in for a tattoo (didn’t have any idea what we were going to get) and Kaki was so nice, greeted us immediately, and showed us a couple of books with awesome designs. Dave did my tattoo and he was also so kind, and made sure I was happy with the placement. I got something small behind my ear, and it was so quick and painless (to my surprise), and it turned out beautiful! Thank you guys for a great experience!

Fantastic experience: Highly recommended!! Staff is super friendly but also right to the point trying to understand how they can help. I went with my spouse and we both got tattoos with two different artists - both artists took our ideas and suggestions and came up with artistic renditions that were on point with our vision. Stenvik did mine, it came out great! It's still healing, the photo attached shows some minor flaking but that's normal on any larger sections of coloring (and I need to moisturize it again) Update: 3 tattoos from here now, and I still couldn't recommend it more. Staff is fun and friendly and, more importantly, very good at what they do.

Fantastic experience: I got my second ever tattoo with Zak, and I had the best experience with him. He was really friendly, made sure the whole time that I was comfortable, and it wasn’t a awkward silent tattoo sesh as he made great conversion (until I think I fell asleep lol). I was very worried about my next tattoo experience, as my first at a different shop blew out a bit, but the tattoo I got with Zak even the finest lines have held up amazingly, and the healing process was really smooth. He is clearly a very skilled artist, and he has the capability of doing a diverse range of styles with great execution - his work speaks for itself. I’m looking forward to getting another tattoo from him!

Fantastic experience: I got tattooed here in August of 2023 by Zak. It was my first tattoo, and I knew that I really wanted a coyote but wasn’t 100% sure exactly how I wanted it to look, just had an idea about the posing of the coyote, and a few random ideas. I came in beforehand to talk to him about what I wanted, showed him pictures of tattoos he’d done before that I really liked, and came back a few weeks after talking to get it. He drew up a design based on what I wanted, taking everything into account that we talked about, and I absolutely loved it, and still love it. I have gotten 10 more tattoos since then from other artists and shops and I’d still consider it my favorite. He was very accommodating and it was definitely my best tattooing experience compared to the rest and I’m very glad I went to him to get my first one done. I followed his instructions exactly for aftercare and had no problems, it healed beautifully. Everything was clean, he and everyone else at the shop were very nice, and overall I think he’s an amazing tattoo artist. I am eventually planning to come back and get something else from him, and would highly recommend him to anyone looking to get tattooed! (Attached picture is fresh from right when it was done, I would attached a current picture but have acne in the area and don’t want it to appear like it’s related to the tattoo because it’s not lol).

Fantastic experience: Liberty should be on the Atlanta map they give out at visitors centers and to kids at IHOP. Amazing artists, tons of original and classic art to pick from and reference. This place is a true legendary spot with crazy talented artists. I've been tattooed by a bunch of people here and only wish I lived close enough to keep coming by! I can't speak highly enough about Zak, Scott Alvarez, Shay, and Rachel, and that's just who I've been lucky enough to get tattooed by, meet or buy art from.

Fantastic experience: I have been coming to Liberty for almost 15 years and have always had a positive experience. I have been tattooed by many people there and even my oldest tattoos still look amazing. Most of them have been done by Zak and Tad and they have been clean, quick, and fair with pricing. This is the place I recommend to anyone that asks where they should go to get tattoos.

Fantastic experience: Liberty Tattoo is my favorite shop in Atlanta and I’ve had both of my patchwork sleeves almost fully completed here. Zak has done a good bit of it. He was (and still is) professional, clean, and kind. The entire staff at Liberty is highly professional and the establishment is very clean. I would definitely recommend any of my family and friends go here for a walk-in or appointment.

Each artist is so talented and passionate about the quality and cleanliness of their work! Zak, Sten, Joey, Tad, Levi, Dave, Rachel, Shay, Mikey, Scott, Luis and Erin all have amazing flash that you can choose from if you just want to get something cool that they have drawn! Kristina even does cosmetic tattooing! They are all the best of the best!

Fantastic experience: My first (and currently only) tattoo was done by Zak at this shop! I had such a great experience. From moment one, he was a great communicator and even let me change my placement a day or so before due to an eczema flare up. We had agreed on a price at the time of booking, but the actual tattoo took longer than he has expected. However, he did not charge me any more for the extra time he spent. He was fun to talk to and very kind! I’ve heard horror stories about tattoo shops and none of them came true here. My tattoo has since healed and settled nicely. I would highly recommend this shop!

Positive experience: I’ve gotten tattooed by multiple people here and they’ve all been fantastic experiences! My two favorite pieces I have were done by Zak and I’ve enjoyed getting both pieces from him. I lived in Boston for a bit, and even waited to come back down while visiting family to get my second piece by him and it was worth the wait. I’m even considering going back to him for an additional tattoo (hopefully soon). I think based on the quality of their work, their prices are reasonable and worth the investment. My only issue is sometimes I need to use mobility aids and the shop itself is a little small for some aids I use, but everyone who works there has been kind, and does their best to accommodate me with the limitations of the space and will check if there is anything else they can provide to help me while I’m there. TLDR: Rad Shop, Rad people, Great Art with cool artists. Some accessibility issues for some mobility aids, but does their best to be as accommodating as possible.

Fantastic experience: When I moved down to Atlanta, this was the first and only shop I went to for tattoos. They have always been friendly and very professional. Zak has given me a few tattoos and he has always been the best. Great place and decent price. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking to get a tattoo.

Fantastic experience: Its been roughly 4-5 years since I’ve visited this shop but when I did I was overjoyed with my experience! I traveled roughly 6 hours from Florida just to get tattooed by Zak! He was and always has been professional, pleasant to talk to, and extremely talented in his craft! The shop & his station were thoroughly clean(ed), he constantly checked in with me throughout the process to ensure I was comfortable & even bought me a soda/candy bar when I started to feel woozy (my own body was betraying me). 10/10 would 100% recommend this shop & this artist, and I hope to be able to visit and see him again soon!

Fantastic experience: I have had work from both Zak and Sten, and I’m so satisfied with both. I have always felt comfortable and safe in the shop. I watched Zak open fresh needles when I got work done - and it’s a legit shop and there are literally laws in place about used needles lol The piece I got by Zak in 2022 is so beautiful and the line work and color has held up very well over the years. You can tell he knows his stuff. He charges his value, and you get what you pay for. I came to Sten with an idea for a Kraken, provided a general idea of what I wanted and a color palette, then gave him the reigns. I’m so beyond pleased with the outcome of the piece! It was in a relatively intimate part of my body and I felt safe and comfortable the entirety of the sessions it took to complete 10/10 recommend Liberty Tattoo and will probably be getting work done here for a very long time

Fantastic experience: This is my most favorite tattoo shop. When I lived in Atlanta I went to this shop and got numerous tattoos over the span of my 4 years living there. I have seen a few different artists and they have all been fantastic. I have seen Sten, Zak & Levi and they were all phenomenal! Sten is my go to for bold traditional work! Zak has such a warm and welcoming personality, and can whip up a great clean design for a tattoo even as a walk in. Levi is great with fine lines and did a very basic tattoo for me that I get compliments on often. No matter who you see here, just know you will get quality work, have a few laughs, and get a CLEAN AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE! Every time I travel back to Atlanta I plan to stop in for a tattoo. This group is awesome and I will forever continue recommending Liberty Tattoo!

Fantastic experience: I have all my work done here by Tad; first went to him for a coverup I needed…after talking to several other artists and shops, Tad was the only one who showed true artist vision. That was well over ten years ago. Since then I have had multiple large tattoos done and have spent a lot of time in this shop. Great shop and great people. And the music rotation is on point.

Negative experience: The work looks good and is still healing. The 2 stars is because I feel the artist overcharged me. When he was made aware of what I wanted, he quickly asked how much I was willing to spend. Since, other spots have given me subsequent quotes of less than I paid. Now that it's done, that is neither here nor there. I did ask Dave how much he charges for a full sleeve. He quoted me up to $10k. Again, RIDIC! The other artists seemed to be more reasonably priced as I spoke to a returning customer and another one as she finished up.

Fantastic experience: My wife and I came in for tattoos on our anniversary. The artists we were matched with knew exactly how to translate what we were looking for into solid, well-composed tattoos. Rachel Anne interpreted my idea into a great composition that matched well in value with the tattoo I already had. Getting a tattoo is a big risk but you don't need to worry with these artists! Fantastic experience: Had an awesome time at this place! The purpose of the tattoo was to cover scars and the artist took extra care in sizing and placement in order to best achive the cover up! I was also getting my first tattoo I am very aware that that first timers are a pain and I am no exception to that. Despite that everyone working there had the patience of a saint. I was there as a walk in for a flash tattoo and despite the lack of reservation the process of drawing up, sizing, and stenciling was speedy. Also I was given a second skin type bandage rather than getting traditional plastic wrap so that's cool! If I do get another tattoo some time in the future i'll do it here! Very good variety of flash tattoos if that's what you are looking for.

Fantastic experience: Happy I went here. Great experience for first tattoo and super fun and chill staff. Sten was great. Perfect lines. If you want a walk in on the weekend it gets crowded quick so get there early. Public parking behind greens liquor if you can't find street parking Update: Uploaded a picture a year or so later. Negative experience: I got 2 tattoos there one small star one big star at separate times. They charge me twice as much for the small star than the big one they are over priced and a small star had to get covered up because it was messed up.

Fantastic experience: Scott did my latest tattoo. It was line work with a Norse theme. I get compliments every day on it. He did a great job and I will definitely be going back. 10/10 would recommend.

The tattoo took a little less than and hour and Mikey treated me so well and did an amazing job. The price was fair and I left a generous tip for the great work. Fantastic experience: We have been multiple times and every single interaction, experience, and appointment raises the bar on customer service. Most tattoo shops have an odd smell, talk to you like you aren’t a member of the club if you don’t know something, and look at you like a walking atm. They consult with you, want to make sure you feel great about what is about to happen, you know how to work with them, and abundantly honest - they don’t want your money, they want to make you a loyal member of their family. I have had tattoos from multiple shops in multiple cities - I am loyal to a fault now with them because of the consistent experience for me and my kids. Big shout out for Mikey and Rachel! And check out this masterful photo realism piece done yesterday!

I almost passed out, and he made sure to take care of me with a lollipop and water until I came back to full cognition. I felt confident during the entire process that I was in good hands.

Negative experience: Visited today the lady at the front (blue hair) was awesome! Great customer service skills and great attention to details however the very rude (tattoo artist) guy that walked over and shouted “THIS ISN’T GOING TO WORK ON BLACK SKIN!” First off sir it’s not what you say it’s “HOW!” Second if you cared at all to do anything other than coming over to say something so distasteful you would’ve noticed I already have tattoos on my inner arm which is lighter than any other skin and I’m not even dark skinned at all! We came to another place 11 minutes away and got the work done with no questions. Thanks for steering us clear of Liberty Tattoo!

Negative experience: Showed up first in line for a walk in. Got in right away to get my wife’s lips me. I brought in on a piece of paper her lips. I asked him to fix a few parts and he said “I will not change the picture because it’s like a portrait”. I then agreed to continue with the tattoo. The actual tattoo itself didn’t not come out like my wife’s lips. If you couldn’t change the tattoo I would like them to at minimum look like the lips I brought in. It looked like the lips of a drunken woman after a night out drinking. Pretty embarrassed to even show the tattoo to people. Only reason I gave them 2 stars was because they did get me in quick.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful experience with Rachel and rest of Liberty team. I came in for a walk-in on a Saturday, and knew exactly what I wanted (very small, my first tattoo woohoo!). She helped me resize a few times to get it just right. Rachel was great throughout and I felt prepared for my aftercare at the end. Thanks! Would definitely come back.

Fantastic experience: Amazing staff, great environment, and awesome recommendations on other local businesses for out-of-Towners. This was my first tattoo ever and was a little nervous about the experience. Wendy and Luis(sp?) made the whole experience comfortable and painless.

Fantastic experience: Liberty was great. Fast, friendly, knowledgeable service. Zak was my artist and he was amazing. Very professional and my tattoo is spot on exactly what I asked for. I'm definitely returning to liberty for another session with Zak.

Negative experience: I called. Was told I could come in. When I got there, most of the artist were sitting around. I had to ask to be helped. Finally, an artist came. I explained what I wanted. I noticed the other artist packing up to leave. When the artist finally returned about 20 minutes later, he showed me a2nd grade drawing. Told me they were closing and to bring the drawing back the next day, like I would want that on my body. They were all leaving at 7. The sign and website had 8. I spent an hour waiting to be turned away. I would have been fine if I'd been told that when I entered. I won't be going back there.

Fantastic experience: We came by the shop hoping to get walk-in tattoos and had an awesome experience. We were helped immediately and the shop was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We appreciate the staff being honest, upfront, and accommodating- would have gladly come back with an appt. after the great first impression. The best part- Kennie Davis gave me a serpent piece that exceeded all expectations and I couldn't be more proud to wear. The entire process was nearly painless. He's truly so talented, kind, and professional. Thank you, Kennie, for your time, skill, and patience! I look forward to working with you again.

Fantastic experience: I had a great time at Liberty. Joey started a coverup on my hip. She was patient and created a beautiful design. She has a light touch. I have a very low pain tolerance, and she was wonderfully accommodating. Would recommend.

Fantastic experience: Super friendly staff…really easy to just walk in and speak with someone at the front counter. Everything feels clean, up to date with masking protocols and organized. Kate was awesome and she paired me up with Kennie. Stoked about my new tattoo and was really happy with how fast they were able to get me in for an appointment! Hope to be back here soon.

Negative experience: We were super stoked to give liberty tattoo a shot especially after looking into an artists work. We requested sketches and sent over ideas due to it being 3 hrs from us. Travel is worth great work. We sent the ideas for the sketch in April. I frequently checked on the sketches and was eventually sent a sketch that had NO correlation to what I had asked for. I was more than flexible even after this I understand things get busy. I emailed after that frustrated and was assured I would have a sketch by the end of July. Well I emailed AGAIN yesterday and was told I was scheduled for an appointment and had missed my appointment….. like really. I would never make an appointment to drive 3 hours without seeing a sketch. A huge run around and a WASTE OF TIME. I’ll be going elsewhere sadly. Good luck.

Fantastic experience: I went with my best friend to get matching tattoo. I was really nervous, but Sten was really awesome and made my first tattoo experience enjoyable. The studio was clean and had a really good vibe and everyone was super friendly!

Positive experience: From Chicago....came to ATL on vacation. A bartender recommended this place for tattoos so checked it out. My tattoo artist Kenny did such a great job and my Tattoo came exactly like the picture. He was very nice and friendly as well. The only thing I was upset about was that I was quoted $100-$120 from the "receptionist" woman, but was charged $175 Instead. I almost died inside....but didn't complain. I was happy with my Tattoo
