Fantastic experience: My cousin was over from Denmark and she wanted to get a special tattoo that represented her kiwi mum who had passed away. Isaac greeted us warmly and was happy to take a walk in appointment, he was good with his communication and explained he was an apprentice. My cousin was very impressed with how professional he was and how he really listened to what she wanted. She was very nervous as the last time she had a tattoo was 15years ago, but he made her feel very comfortable and relaxed. She loved the tattoo so much and was very happy that the next day she went back for another tattoo. We were very impressed with him and will be recommending him to others.

Fantastic experience: We were lucky enough to get a booking at Flax Roots while we were visiting home from Australia. The owner Marc made my wife and I feel welcome encouraging her to trust her decision in a matching wedding Tā Moko. Hamu created such a beautiful piece and we are so honoured to of had him bless our skin with his art. We will be coming back next time we are home as we highly recommend Flax Roots.

Positive experience: Trista did my tattoo and the lines are very crooked and it is very uneven, doesn’t even look like it could be touched up otherwise it would look worse… Not sure how to cover this up but probably will do in the future. ‍♀️

Fantastic experience: If I could write a 10 star review I would!!! Everyone in the tattoo shop is absolutely lovely. So friendly, so welcoming. Came in early, sat and chatted with all of the staff, have absolutely nothing but good things to say about everyone. Trista did an amazing job on my tattoo, came in with a loose idea and she created the rest of the design of Cathedral cove with a few added touches of my own serenity, palm trees etc. If anyone ever needs a tattoo shop to go to, I cannot recommend Flax Roots Tattoos enough!! Can’t wait to go back and get another one from them.

Fantastic experience: Went to flax roots tattoos to get a snorlax using a cpap done. I love the end results and have posted a pic of it on a sleep apnea page on fb and has gotten so much positive comments. I'm bad with names so I can't remember the tattoo artists name sorry but she done a wonderful job and even improved the design that I sent through. This shop and tattoo artists are definitely worth checking out if anyone wants to get some ink done.

Fantastic experience: Trista did an amazing job on my tattoo. I walked in a bit nervous but everyone there was so lovely. Such a welcoming and calming environment! Such amazing talent! Trista is the one I highly recommend because she does AMAZING tattoos and always gives her honest and best professional opinion.She is also so gentle and she gave me a hug at the end! Honestly such a sweetheart! I couldn't recommend this place more! Definitely getting more tattoos from her in the future!
