She presented her first sketch to me however it wasn’t anything close to what I was asking for, so when I asked her to redesign i was faced with no communications on her end about the sketch or dates and it’s been weeks of zero communication now… chasing her on insta for a reply and still nothing…

Fantastic experience: Brad did an awesome cover-up for me realisim Tui and Kārearea moko fusion— the manu are unreal, the detail and realism blew me away. He’s thoughtful too; when my leg started doing the “lil ouchy shake” after hours, he was good to take break. Thoughtful as, when could see I was hoping it was nearly done he worked on another part. Haha I may not be a good sitter. Clean as lines, especially in his taamoko — symmetrical, even width apart, just sharp. Covered up my dodgy teenage tat like it was never there. I tell everyone to go to Brad. My niece got mahi from him too, and hers is stunning. I live in Perth now but plan to book with him every time I’m home. Wish he’d set up shop here!

Fantastic experience: Kia ora! Had my back piece done here last year by Brad himself. It was my first big piece and was stoked to get it done. It was just Brad and myself in the studio and over the hours I felt very comfy with him as a person (I’m a wāhine) he incorporated all the meanings I wanted into my piece and I love it. I wear it with pride and get compliments on how neat his mahi is. I did start to get hōhā at the end as my tīnana was starting to tap out, but Brad was patient with me. Ngā mihi e hoa. Will be back in the future

Negative experience: Unfortunately I had an awful experience getting my tattoo done last Friday. I was made to feel quite uncomfortable with Dee's rudeness and making me feel like I was wasting his time. If it wasn't for the fact that I was getting this done on my granddaughters birthday as a surprise for her, I would've walked out and gone somewhere else. Wrong spelling, made me feel uncomfortable when I wanted to change a letter as I didn't like how he done it, didn't want to do it in the colours I asked for when i booked it in a month prior. He said he was finished, I looked at it in the mirror and I'm guessing by the look on my face he knew I wasn't happy with it as the letters were way too skinny so he quickly said he'll thicken them up. I asked if he could add a couple of little hearts at the bottom so i could have more colour and he didn't want to do that either so I decided to call the horrible experience quits then. As I went to pay for it, I had to ask for the aftercare balm as he couldn't wait to get me out the door, maybe he needed another ciggy as I had to wait for him to have a ciggy before he even started the tattoo. I felt I had to be considerate to him in the shear hope that it was going to get better but from start to finish it was a horrible memory. $170 for something I'm not 100% pleased with. I will be going somwhere else to get more colour put into my tattoo of my ONLY grandchild.

His knowledge back then impressed me and I knew he knew what he was talking about. Years on and I've been to him for a third time and still think he's so talented! I've had my dad, mum and husband also go to him for their moko and enyone who asks for suggestions, Brad's the guy who I send them to. His understanding of designs, iwi specific moko and how to fit them all together to look amazing, surprises us every time. No one we trust more to give us our moko! Fantastic experience: Can't speak highly enough of Brad and his crew. Natives is an exceptional place, clean, chilled, laid back crew, professional, friendly, great tattooists. Brad carried out a fusion tattoo down my right torso side, incredibly meticulous, absolute perfectionist, the final outcome just blew me away !! So not long after that I booked in for another tattoo on the other side of my torso !! I highly recommend these guys !!

Brad has always included me in every step of his design to ensure everything I wished for was incorporated in it. He is a true artist that has recently completed my sleeve representing the strong wahine toa in my life and he totally nailed it. His studio is always warm and welcoming with the best vibes and sounds playing. A lot of the work he’s done for me has been full day appointments, so I’ve seen how him and his team interacts with everyone. The team at NATIVES TATTOO 100% know their stuff. In addition to being artists, they always ensure their clients are comfortable during their sessions. My whānau and I can’t recommend NATIVES TATTOO highly enough. Definitely a 10/10 from us!
