Fantastic experience: I went to see unique ink for a paw print tattoo, they couldn't get me in in the day. But made me an appointment for the next working day with Faith. Faith did not fail to impress me with her skill, and the paw print tattoo was exactly the same as the print I got from my dogs paw. The team at unique ink are super friendly and funny. I will be back for another tattoo without a doubt

Negative experience: Botched tattoo, healing instructions and tattooing are both not to be trusted. I’ve ended up in both the gp and a&e because of this tattoo, skin has literally come off and I’m now on antibiotics as there’s a literal open wound….wtaf

Fantastic experience: I went in for a walk-in, asking for a Yorkshire rose as a souvenir of my trip. Kira drew the design with no other input from me and I was amazed at the quality and detail. The tattooing was easy and pleasant, with all the staff providing a fun and informal atmosphere that would defintley put any first timers at ease. I couldn't be happier with the end result. The price was below expected, I paid an extra 10er on top and still felt that was cheap for the quality of the work. If you are in York and want a tat, go here, you won't regret it.

Fantastic experience: Surprisingly few shops offer to do mantis piercings, which is why I was so excited when Gee said that they do (pictures available @gee.elkpiercing on instagram) !! Such a great environment and Gee has an even greater skillset, so much so that I recently went back to have her remove my sutures from a heavier body modification done abroad and she did a perfect job of that too. Gee has been wonderful at accommodating my requests. Would (and do) definitely recommend !

Fantastic experience: Had a tattoo by Emily along with smaller ones for my wife and friend, the detail was amazing and couldn't fault her at all. Second tattoo I've had by her now and highly recommended, even came in on her day off for me at short notice as it was a design that interested her. Will definitely be going back.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing service and staff! Had a tattoo done by Keira who did back to back matching tattoos for me and three family members. She was so lovely, personable and just a really good artist! Then on a whim got my ears pierced with Gee just before the tattoo. Gee was also so down to earth and really caring during the piercing process. Honestly hands down a 5* service and studio I've been too, really chatty and kind artists, would happily return if I was local!

Fantastic experience: It's been a long long time since I got my first tattoo at 18 so was a little apprehensive about my first visit to get my second after so long. Absolutely no need! Guys in there are really friendly, helpful to assist your decision if you're unsure, polite, chatty, professional, a great laugh and the end products are top notch. Cannot recommend high enough. He is so calm, gentle, accommodating and will do his best to say yes to any of your required designs; appreciating the fact that his taste shouldn't be thrust upon his clients. During my last experience, I sat for 3 hours, which flew by, due to the excellent conversation provided by Jordan, Josh (Unique's owner & another colleague - apologies for forgetting your name). Negative experience: Had my tattoo done with Emily 3 weeks ago and it's appalling I went in to show them and got completely mugged off with excuses over placement and healing and ink etc I've had 7 tattoos with other artists in the past and never had any problems.i went to 2 other tattoo studios to show them and both said she hadn't gone deep enough and it needs re marking! The owner put the phone down on me when I said I'd like to come in and show the state of it.im now having to pay a professional to get it fixed as they won't refund me anything there response was still blame but doesn't want to get into a debate or argument but will let another artist fix it! Why would I go back in somewhere when made to feel so awkward and like it's all my fault very poor customer service skills would not recommend this place. I can't comment on any of the other guys that work in here and that wouldn't be fair but Emily needs more training and the owner needs to own the fact that she didn't do it right and stop with the lame excuses plus she didn't advise on placement or give any after care instructions and forgot to get me to sign a disclaimer too so called me to come back quickly to sign because she panicked!!!!!

Fantastic experience: I recently went to get tattoo off of Emily, and she is honestly so incredible! We throughly spoke about the consent form and the healing process, aftercare, everything ii needed to know before we started anything. She even went as far as to message on the morning of to make sure I had eaten and drank enough. She helped me understand which placement would be best for me, and had the patience of a saint as I changed my mind a billion times. I love the placement we went went for! She talked me through everything she was doing, from setting up, and explaining the whole procedure for me. She helped me feel very at ease when the actual tattoo started and asked periodically if I needed a breather. Once we had finished we took photos and showed me as I couldn't quite see myself, and then wrapped my new tattoo and once again spoke me through the correct aftercare and the whole healing process, recommending products I could try, and telling me what to avoid. Overall an incredibly pleasant experience, and the studio was imacculate! Emily was also incredibly punctual which helped my anxiety! I definitely won't go anywhere else from now on, Emily you're stuck with me! Only downside is having to walk up two flights of stairs

Fantastic experience: Went this evening for a tattoo our son sadly past away before he had chance to greet the world (my wife & I suffered a miscarriage) & Jordan has done me 3 doves with watercolour blue and absolutely smashed it just what I was thinking, Jordan was supportive and positive out look, such an easy going person and I highly recommend these guys, talked me through the whole process although its not my first tattoo , I definitely will see you guys in the future.

Positive experience: I booked an appointment to have a tattoo, but it went terrible. I was greeted by a very friendly lady at the front desk, but once i got upstairs to the tattoo parlor, things turned sour quickly. Dom was the guy doing my tattoo, and i showed him that I wanted a tattoo that looked like a slice of a pie, he turned white and lost his words. He started sweating, but still somehow managed to perform the tattoo. When I looked at it though, it wasnt a slice of pie, there was nothing there. He was only buzzing in the air, pretending to tattoo me. I dont think he is very experienced. 3 stars for the lady at front desk though, she was amazing.
