I went for a Japanese style snake and katana. Still can’t get over how pleased I am with the finished piece. Everyone was super welcoming making me feel right at home and the vides and conversations were great to pass the time. I strongly recommend you book a session at this brilliant tattoo studio!!!!

All the staff in the studio were friendly an welcoming. the studio itself was very clean and hygienic. And the work I got done by claudia was fantastic. such a talent. When we got sat down we were offered coffees and chocolates so the staff are really kind supportive and friendly. I would DEFINITELY recommend this place!

Fantastic experience: Okay. Let me just start out that I am already planning the next time I fly back to the UK from America, I am going straight to York just to come here again. (I’m already making plans this very moment hehe) Claudia was amazing, I had no clear vision on what I wanted outside of the main concept and that was the forget me nots I wanted. In a matter of minutes she drew up a design that was just perfect! I wish I only lived in the UK cause man would I go to her every chance I could to get more added to my new piece. I would like to also say how much I appreciated the lady at the front desk, she made me laugh so much. She also helped me calm my nerves down too, this was my second tattoo my first being one from like 10 years ago and I was nervous haha! I enjoyed how EVERYONE was just so warm and friendly! Even the other tattoo artist that was there stopped by to chat with us. (And the tattoo artist that recommended us to this place!) Overall 10/10 would 100% come back to get more work done! Fantastic experience: Amazing tattoo artist and a relaxing friendly place. Liza is excellent really chatty and makes sure you are okay throughout the day. I recently had a full day with Tommo who spent ages looking at designs for me, I had an Eagle Owl above trees and clouds. It was a full day. Tommo is excellent the tattoo is amazing, he is a superb artist and has perfect attention to detail. I would not go for a tattoo at any other place. This is the 1st time at Ruby Arts but it will not be my last. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Negative experience: Had my belly button pierced here 1 week ago, fainted so didn’t manage to get it done! I laughed it off and thought maybe piercings just aren’t for me in which the piercer agreed and told me “ tattoos wont be either”. Went to another piercing shop that day to get a second opinion in which the man with over 20+ years experience explained to me : 1)no wonder it hurt they did it wrong 2.He mentioned they had clamped it so hard it will leave a bruise (it did) 3) That they didn’t pierce it the right way for my belly button.(They did not measure my belly button stood up )this lead them to pierce it wrong as the piercing needed to be done from a higher point. 4)He told me Tattoos&piercings are for everyone even fainters. The piercer I went too afterwards told me to come back in a week to see if it had healed up so he can repierce it from a different angle. So today I went to get it redone and I felt very little pain! He was a very nice piercer and I’m so grateful I had the guts to go elsewhere to get my belly redone by someone who actually cared and reassured me! Getting it redone elsewhere made me realise what a terrible job they did here. Very disappointed. The only positive I have to say about this place is the woman on reception was lovely. However, I would avoid.

The guys at Ruby Arts are fantastic people. Down to earth and always give the best customer service. I want to say a thank you to the lady on the desk - I suffer from anxiety and I was feeling overwhelmed. She helped me calm down without realising and made me feel listened to. I have forgotten her name so forgive me but thank you to you if you see this - you helped improve my mood for the day. Ian was the gentleman who did my tattoo last and I am super happy with it. Ian is also lovely and down to earth and was very good with me. I will always stick to Ruby arts if I get more tattoos done. Thank you guys - I started off on a bad morning with anxiety and with the service as a whole you helped improve my mood and my day.

Gutted I didn't go straight to him in 1st place(my fault), as he's done all my other tats and all are fantastic,true professional with years of experience,great place,clean and friendly staff! Fantastic experience: Been to quite a few tattoo places in York but I found Ruby Arts to be up there with the best. Petra is brilliant very attentive and talented artist. I know fair few people who have been here and have always been really satisfied. Really recommend Ruby Arts if your thinking of your 1st tattoo or your 15th!

Fantastic experience: Visited for a piercing. Piercing process was explained, aftercare routine explained and Mick made sure I was happy with everything before I got it done. He's done a fantastic job of the piercing and a couple of weeks on its healing really well and I'm very happy with it. I'll definitely go back and would 100% recommend.
