Fantastic experience: Sam Barker was absolutely amazing! She was responsive, adaptable, sweet, and very easy to talk to. She handled my paw print tattoo with complete empathy, as she obviously really loves her animals. The shop was cool, Sam's station was clean and cozy, and her work was absolutely amazing. Also, their tattoo balm is also really nice and I still like using it even though my tattoo is healed at this point. I will definitely go back to Sam for my next tattoo!

Fantastic experience: Had my rook and tragus done a while ago by Carl, he took plenty of time with me as I go faint with needles but helped me smoothly through the process. Both piercings have healed perfectly and quickly!

Fantastic experience: Been to Sam twice now and each time has been such a lovely experience. I love working with her to create a custom piece that look amazing. Fantastic experience: A group of 4 booked fairly last minute (Saturday night) for different forms of piercing for Sunday morning. We met Carl at the shop, he is an adorable human being. He had come in just for us. He didn't rush with anyone, chatting and taking his time making sure everyone was comfortable before proceeding. A couple of us in the group were nervous but he took his time and was very professional throughout the entire thing. He's a pro for sure and an all around good guy who knows how to talk to people. He also was happy to follow up with any one of us for the after care and answer any of our questions. He went above beyond for us and the whole experience was easy and chilled. Really appreciated the extra mile he went for us. Would 1000% come see him again and recommend!!

Fantastic experience: I had my new tattoo done by Kayleigh, a resident artist, at Chirality Ink on 2nd July, 2025. A larger piece, using my own design with strict perimeters. I had drawn my design using line work only. Kayleigh spent time showing me her previous work, and helped me find suitable artwork style to both complement my piece and make it come alive. This piece was important to me, as it signified the end of a bad chapter of my life and the beginning of a new, beautiful one - this piece was a healing experience. From day one, Samantha (owner of the studio) was understanding of my needs and went out of her way to ensure this piece was completed before I had to leave Yorkshire and travel home. The overall experience was one of comfort, joy and excitement. Kayleigh was incredibly supportive, helpful and gentle through my entire sitting. Almost 7 hours in total. I was allowed breaks whenever I asked, and I gave Kayleigh a great recipe for baking cakes I will be coming back to this studio next June, to have a much larger piece done. The aftercare balms (handmade by another person at this studio) are wonderful. I went with a larger pot of Honeysuckle scented balm, really have made a difference to my aftercare. Every step was discussed with me, from start to finish. Pricing was incredible value, and well worth every penny. This studio, the owner and their artists care about you and ensuring that you have the best possible experience. Thank-you Kayleigh, Sam and everyone else at this studio! See you next June! Xx

Fantastic experience: I had my first tattoo done by Abbie, she was absolutely amazing, and made me feel so at ease. Everyone who works there is kind and chatty, which definitely calms you down if you're feeling a bit nervous like I was. I would recommend anyone who wanted a tattoo to come here, especially if it's your first time. Also, their aftercare balm range smells absolutely incredible, and no doubt works like a charm!!

Fantastic experience: I've had my helix, nose and now naval done my Carl and I've had a great experience every time. They've all healed well, he's helped me change them, the vibe/atmosphere was chill, friendly and welcoming, and he was happy to peirce my nose with a ring and not a stud like other places. Would highly recommend, great prices too!

Fantastic experience: Ive had my vertical labret pierced for over 2 years now and a few months back I decided to change up the jewellery but recently my lip was not agreeing with it whatsoever I was really worried It was either infected or rejecting but the piercer kindly reassured me it was neither of those things, changed my jewellery, cleaned it up and Ive had no problems, the swelling has gone down and there is no more pain! THANK YOU!!!!

Fantastic experience: I came to Chirality for my first ever tattoo and I was not disappointed! I had previously had a huge freak out but Abbie talked me through everything that was worrying me and was extremely patient with me when I said I was feeling very nervous about it all. I was made to feel extremely at home during the tattooing itself, and nothing was too much of an ask or inconvenience which was lovely. I would highly recommend to anybody, especially for their first tattoo as it was an incredible atmosphere

Sam guided me all the way through the process and made me feel welcome and very comfortable during the actual tattoo session. It was a very personal piece. I have had no issues afterwards as I followed the aftercare advice to the letter of the law. I would highly recommend this business, 10/10 if I had to give a score.

Fantastic experience: The lovely Sam designed and completed my tattoo of a stunning phoenix on my thigh. Her design was incredible and gave me expert guidance on whether to enlarge it which we did and I am SO happy with it. She very kindly gave me a lovely aftercare package too including a tattoo balm which healed my tattoo perfectly - no scabbing, no loss of pigment etc. A very talented artist, who is friendly, warm and welcoming. She truly cares about her work and her clients and I shall be back for sure :)

Fantastic experience: I got my first tattoo here recently - I was quite nervous before I arrived but I can honestly say that it was all pretty chilled - on par with sending a parcel at the post office!! Everything was very clean, as I would expect. Sam was very attentive and made me feel at ease . My tattoo was very small and in a particular style so it had to be perfect, and the closest thing to perfection is what I got I would definitely go here again

Fantastic experience: Had two ear piercings today with Carl, and had a great experience. He was really friendly - we had a nice chat whilst he was doing my piercings, which helped with any last minute nerves and kept me distracted! He seemed very efficient, as well as being open to changes with my piercings and making sure I was happy with everything before he pierced. Studio was clean and tidy and I didn’t wait long either. Negative experience: My husband booked a tattoo for us part of an anniversary weekend away, unfortunately we had to cancel due to a serious illness within the family. We gave 6 days notice and felt that due to the extenuating circumstances the company could have been kinder and offered a refund. Having a small company I understand the need for deposits and policy, but I feel that each situation should be individually assessed. Edited due to response...we paid the exact amount of deposit requested via Instagram and I messaged at 9am on Monday morning so technically 5 working days and as you work Saturday that is also classed as a working day. Your reply is pretty similar to other people who have questioned your customer service so I expected no less!

Fantastic experience: Had 20+ tattoos from Abbie and they've all been outstanding, being an excellent all-round experience with fantastic artwork. Only had one piercing from Carl but everything was just as professional and smooth. Overall, couldn't recommend anywhere more highly

Fantastic experience: Just had my first ever tattoo done by Sam, great service from initial inquiry to an actual appointment. She was able to answer all my 100 questions about appointments,tattoo,designs etc. During the appointment Sam made me feel relaxed and after she explained what i need to do to take care of it until it heals up. Also wanted to add my girlfriend had also got a piercing here on the same day and she loves it and hardly hurt for her either. She ended up passing out due to low iron in the shop ,however, my piercer (Carl) and another employee (Abby) stayed completely calm and nursed her until paramedics arrived. I couldn’t ask for better service. They are lovely people and know their stuff!

The design Sam had created was amazing and original and I couldn’t wait to see how it turned out. Fantastic experience: Had a wonderful tattoo session with Sam, and so pleased with how the piece came out! She did a great job with my requests for the design and it ended up absolutely exceeding my expectations, totally in love with it! Was my first colour tattoo, only had black ones before and she was really attentive and answered all the questions I had, felt reassured the whole way through. Also have to mention, incredibly punctual. When I’ve had afternoon sessions at other studios there’s always a wait while they finish up the client before but Sam was spot on with the time! Makes you feel cared for and comfortable, with super friendly staff. Overall it's a very personal and enjoyable experience! The actual piercing went super well, with Carl explaining every step before he did it so I knew exactly what was coming next. Could not recommend more and will definitely be coming back for a double helix on my right ear as soon as these have healed. 10/10 no notes!

Fantastic experience: Came in today to get my dad's signature tattooed. He past away a month ago and this was an emotional and meaningful tattoo. Abbie took her time to perfect the drawing of the signature to make sure it was both accurate and that I was happy with the piece itself. Very prompt response when I had a question about healing afterwards, I followed Sam's advice exactly and a month later the tattoo has healed perfectly Can't give 5 more stars unfortunately but definitely the place to come if you want great customer service and a beautiful, very reasonably priced tattoo from artists who really care

Fantastic experience: Such a wonderful experience here! We were on holiday for a couple of days and we’re so accommodating and helpful! Me and my friend ended up having 4 tattoos and 4 piercings between us. All staff were so knowledgeable and helpful and well as genuinely friendly. I can certainly see why they have been voted one of the top three studios in York for 6 years running! Will definitely be back when we come again. Highly recommend for locals and holiday makers alike.

Abbie did our tattoos and she was lovely, patient & reassuring. 2 of our group also got piercings with Carl which look great. As it was a first tattoo for some of our group they were understandably nervous but Carl and Abbie chatted away taking making it such a lovely experience. A great memory for us all ❤️

Abbie did both of us a bestie tattoo with our initials inside a heart and we both love them. My bestie then got her Daith pierced by Carl who made her feel comfortable throughout. Fantastic experience: I was booked in on October to have my nose pierced, however that had to be postponed due to an emergency. I was absolutely fine with it being postponed, and waited a few months to re-book as I live in Devon. Safe to say it was absolutely worth the wait. I came in today to have not just my nose done, but my helix done too. He was incredibly informative, made me feel relaxed, professional without feeling uncomfortable. I 10/10 would recommend and I will be re-booking next time I visit! Thank you so much

I didn’t feel a thing! My friend got her ears pierced and she was extremely worried going in but was smiling after the first one! 100% recommend.

The service was quick but not rushed at all, the staff created a comfortable environment and were honest and passionate about what they do. Abbie was my artist and she had an endless amount of talent, patience and confidence whilst working with me. This is the place to go!

Fantastic experience: A very friendly parlour, with knowledgable staff (a big thank you to Carl) and a calm vibe. Carl helped to re-pierce my Septum after another piercing parlour pierced it wonky, he was incredibly reassuring and efficient. I'd highly recommend for their service but also their competitive pricing :)

Fantastic experience: We phoned on Saturday afternoon for a walk in appointment and they were able to see us half an hour later. Abbie (an apprentice) sketched exactly what we asked for without need for edit and tattooed us within and hour. She was brilliant and we are both soooooo happy with the finished product and the service. Thanks also to Carl who was there and was lovely too.

Fantastic experience: Carl's done 6 piercings for me since 2020 and I've also taken my youngest daughter (11yrs) for first lobe piercings. Professional, friendly and fantastic with daughter who was very nervous. Piercings done properly with a needle as you would expect from such an establishment. Piercings have all healed well - aftercare advice is simple and works if followed. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: When I had a tattoo done, I was made to feel comfortable the whole time. Sam was really easy to talk to and we all had a good laugh. I was offered advice on placement and size as I was a bit clueless! The whole experience was really positive and I'd definitely return for any future tattoos I wanted doing. Fantastic experience: I had 5 lobe piercings and one cartilage done by Carl, for my first piercings ever. He was really reassuring and helped me understand the process, keeping me relaxed when I started to get anxious. His professional and calming nature was second to none, and I'm so glad that I chose him to do my piercings. After that, I'll definitely be back to him for any more piercings or tattoos! Fantastic experience: Second Review Been wanting my tattoo for years, finally got myself round to getting it sorted. 4 years ago my world broke when my Nanna passed, I don't think it will ever heal but this certainly has! ☺️ Couldn't be happier with how it's turned out. Big thanks to Sam and the team!! The detail and care are top notch and everyone I've shown it to loves it, especially my Grandad pics of it first done and healed :D First Review Went in to get my ears redone and get a second piercing on each lobe. All the staff have been amazing start to finish! Thank you to Carl especially who has put up with my ears rejecting studs in favour of hoops. Staff were more than accommodating each time I went back to get the studs replaced. Highly reccomend this place to anyone!!! Multiple reviews as Google won't allow you to make separate ones -.-

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience at this lovely little studio! All the staff were super friendly and helpful, and created a very relaxing atmosphere. I was tattooed by their lovely apprentice Abbie, who was super professional and thorough. My tattoo has healed perfectly and looks great. Would definitely recommend this studio and I will be back! :)

Fantastic experience: My experience with Chiralty Ink and with Sam has been outstanding. I was looking for a very specific and personal tattoo. Every step of the way the communication was great up to the day of the appointment. On the day Sam and her team were wonderful, friendly and understanding of my expectations and fears. I have had a few tattoos done in the past in other places this one was definitely the most important to me. I couldnt be happier with the results. The aftercare products i was given were of very good quantity and now my tattoo has healed I can only try to express my gratitude to Sam and her team. Fantastic experience: Lovely place, makes you feel at ease as I'm always nervous when getting a tattoo. Sam is fast and her designs are great. I got what I asked for and more. Just glad I had the upper arm done, because I want to show everyone how good it is. Looking forward to going back for another one at some point when I've decided what exactly I want.

Fantastic experience: When I’m York, this is the place I first think of when I want another tattoo. The artists are all lovely and so talented. They managed to illustrate my ideas perfectly, I have had two tattoos from there so far, and I absolutely love them! Recommended this place to my housemate and she got a tattoo there too! Would recommend to anyone who is looking into tattoo places in York, and I’ll definitely be over for more tattoos!

Fantastic experience: My tattoo artist was Sam! The process was smooth to get booked in and seen too, the staff were all super friendly and chatty which is perfect if you like that kind of atmosphere. The tattoo itself healed really nicely, really happy with how the shading ended up, it's not overly dark or too light... And it was exactly what I asked for. All in all I'm really happy with my experience and would book again!
