Harry Flashmans - Tattoo Parlour Chelmsford

Fantastic experience: Ive been regularly attending since i turned 18 and honestly, the best place in chelmsford by far. Not only do i get provided with excellent tattoos but i also get treated like a friend. The hospitality, the friendliness and the care that goes into this place is wonderful. This has been my saving grace, and the conversations mean the world to me being someone whos very very isolated from other people in recent years. Thank you guys so much. Look forward to seeing u guys again soon :)

Fantastic experience: Massively recommend Harry flashmans! Great atmosphere and friendly staff, had both a piercing and a tattoo done by Bailey and both times he was lovely and talked me through the whole process and aftercare, was very friendly during the tattoo and we ended up chatting the entire time! you can really tell the passion the staff have for their job and they work really closely with you to ensure you get exactly the design you want while adding your own little flair. They were great woth calimg his nerves making it comfortable for us both snd giving us the exact work we asked for with no issues. Negative experience: This is a difficult one to score. The artwork and cleanliness of the place is fab. The sales pitch pre the tattoo day was fab. However... I queried something at the end regarding the time spent on the tattoo and what was quoted, and was offered nothing short of defensive child-talk. Absolutely no customer service at all when the concern raised was regarding information provided. I didn't ask for money off, I didn't complain about the design (even though the colours were not exactly what I requested), I just wanted to highlight how misleading the information had been so this could be addressed for future customers. Such a shame, I was very excited about having a good experience here. The crux of the concern was that I was quoted a day rate and was told my artist would get as much finished of a sleeve as possible in that time. 2 hours before that time was up I was being wrapped and provided with aftercare details. When I was asked to pay, I said "is it the full amount quoted?" And was advised yes. I then said "I only ask as it's only just 4pm and I was told today would be 10-6". The tattooist explained he couldn't do anymore as what he'd done needed to heal first. That seemed reasonable enough, so when I said "what would I need to pay next time?" I was told another day rate. This didn't seem correct so I queried again and was only told "you can pay me by the hour if you want but it'll cost more". That wasn't the answer to my query. There was only one other young girl in the building so I sent my concern on email to the business. (Happy to provide screenshots). My concern outlined what I'd been told by the lady who did my consultation. I had to chase twice for a reply. The reply stated a similar thing to what the tattooist said on the day, but in no way said 'apologies if that was misleading, we'll make sure we're clearer in future'. That would've been the end of it. Disappointing but lesson learned. What I DID get was an 'I'm very disappointed with your complaint' WhatsApp message from the tattooist which felt like an attack. I emailed the business back stating: (copied and pasted, names removed): I have received a message from him saying how disappointed he is with my emails. **** explained everything when I queried it. My complaint is with the lady I had the consultation with. I clarified everything with her before leaving and what I got was not what she advised. At no point have I mentioned any concern with his work or his clarification on the day. In fact, I even mentioned how embarrassing it was for me to have to ask him, and how awkward it must've been for him to answer on the spot. Not gonna lie, now feeling very concerned about returning. I'm not too sure why I'm being attacked for raising a genuine concern with the information that was provided at the sales stage. Even the appointment reminder is misleading (attached)." I then received further messages from the tattooist saying that they'd answered my complaint, he was concerned about me returning to, and I keep saying the same thing (in capital letters - professional). He's right, but thats because I hadn't been offered an apology. I even queried that if I was quoted for 8 hours and only received 6, would the next 2 hours be free? This was purely to set an example of the advice given. This seemed to iritate him further. I am happy to provide Screenshots of the WhatsApp conversation. The whole thing has been blown out of proportion from a very simple (and justified) query. I am gutted. What an awful way to end the experience.

Fantastic experience: When I went in everyone was very friendly and polite. The whole process was very easy and stress free and they even helped refine my tattoo ideas into something that looked very good, as well as giving good advice for aftercare. Overall a great experience and would go again

Fantastic experience: Got my first tattoo done here! Dracoe was absolutely wonderful: from. The first consultation, in which he made me feel awesome for what I'd chosen, was welcoming and clear. Then designs were shared over WhatsApp so anything could be discussed. And on the day, I felt reassured and comfortable. We chatted all the way through and I couldn't be happier with the result. With aftercare clearly laid out and the offer of any touch ups if needed, I HIGHLY recommend coming here, and have already started thinking about another!

Negative experience: Had tattoos from here in the past and they have been great. However I had a couple of piercings booked in a while back now. My nose one got botched up while being pierced so couldn’t be completed (and they made it out like they were doing me a favour by not charging me for it) and the helix I got done kept getting iteration bumps, so I ended up getting it removed at a different place as they said it’s not something they could save. The piercing guy is also awful at replying to messages on Instagram (something he encouraged me to follow him on and message him when it comes to jewellery changes etc) and just leaves you on unread. So all in all, for tattoos they are fine, for piercings, avoid.

Fantastic experience: I had my tattoo done three weeks ago and I am so happy with how it turned out, Raul really did an awesome job, I struggled with poor pain tolerance but he was patient and kind the entire way through. the price was very reasonable and it could not have turned out better

Fantastic experience: My first piercing as a "senior person" was so easy and fairly painless. Dracoe was/is a very warm person and easy to speak to. He explained the process and put me at ease with his caring and attentive demeanor. He also help me decide on a suitable stud and I know it's tiny compared to others but a big step for me. The parlour is clean and welcoming and not overbearing with garish works, as one can find in other parlours. Staff are a credit to the profession.

Negative experience: Very poor service from start to finish! Firstly we booked an appointment for 10:30 and when we got there we had the wait an HOUR AND A HALF when I made it clear that I had work later in the day but they said it was fine. Then when she was finally ready to tattoo me and my sister headed down to start we got told to “be quiet” when we were just chatting to each other. After we got our tattoo we was happy with it but not even 2 weeks later you couldn’t see it as it faded so much on me and my sister. Me and my sister was upset so we tried calling up to speck to the manager but she said she was to busy to speak to us so we settled to speak to the tattoo artest that done it and she told us that she will touch it up. Bear in mind this tattoo is smaller then my pinky finger so it shouldn’t need topping up. Me and my sister went else wear to get them sorted out and they said they didn’t go deep enough or add enough ink. TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!

Negative experience: What a let down! If i could give 0 starts I would. Me and my sister both came to get matching tattoos what we have been wanting for ages. We was left waiting a hour and a half to get our tattoo even when made an appointment, as this place is so unorganised and someone was using the station. After getting the tattoo it didn’t even look real it looked like a temporary tatto, there was not enough ink used. On the day we was not told that we would need a touch up at all it was only till we rang we was offered one. The staff are so rude and not considerate. Myself and my sister went as wear to get it sorted. Would not recommend. Rude staff that will leave you waiting. When asked for a refund or even half the manager refused and was being very argumentative so unprofessional.

Negative experience: On the 7th June 2023 I ago I got a tattoo small done by an apprentice, at first glance everything looked fine, but by 23rd June 2023 the tattoo was faded and it’s so badly done. It’s really gutting as it is a very sentimental tattoo. I contacted the parlour in which they swiftly responded very politely and said I could come in and have a free touch up by a professional, when I responded to arrange a time they did not responded, I have emailed numerous times and they have completely ignored me as well as ignoring my phone calls. I just really do not understand why they could not accommodate when they said they would and I’m extremely upset that I’m stuck with a faded, awful tattoo which they should correct (as they agreed IN writing). So no, I wouldn’t recommend them or the apprentice. They also said in an email that they could do 2 tattoos for me, but the apprentice took so long that they didn’t have anymore time, so it’s just an outrage and so embarrassingly unprofessional to ignore all my emails since 23rd June 2023.

I only wanted a small and simple design so was worried it might be a too small job but I needn’t have worried! Heather took my consultation and understood the personal reason behind my idea and came up with some designs to make it unique for me. Fantastic experience: Although I have two small tattoos already which were done many years ago, I plucked up the courage to get another tattoo and my first at Harry Flashmans. I was very nervous but really shouldn't have been, the whole experience was made easier by the friendly staff and especially Raul who did my tattoo. I cannot say how over the moon I am with the design and final outcome. Raul took a design I found and came up with suggestions to make it work for where I wanted it placed (hand and wrist). I cannot say enough thanks for all his hard work but thanks again Raul, I shall be using Harry Flashmans again and can highly recommend them

This was my first visit for a piece my 7 year old son had designed, and I can definitely say I will be returning. Fantastic experience: have been in for 2 tattoos and a piercing (2 of them as very efficient walk-ins) all with dracoe and have absolutely no complaints!! hygiene standards and communication are incredible, ive felt so comfortable every time i’ve been in, and i always get detailed advice for aftercare! highly recommend coming here for piercings and tattoos - amazing quality and pricing :)

Fantastic experience: I had 6 all day sessions with Raul over a 8 week period, the overall experience was1st class. From the staff making me feel welcome, the atmosphere being really friendly and the artwork was top drawer. My full sleeve involved covering up old tattoos and also working around some existing tattoos that I wanted to keep. A very challenging one indeed, the outcome was outstanding. Fantastic experience: Being 55 and wanting a nose piercing for ages I popped into Harry's to enquire! Raul & Draco were so welcoming and friendly that I took the plunge and did it. Draco explained everything he did and really it didn't hurt like I thought it would. I love it, thanks guys

Fantastic experience: Having waited over 10 years to get a second tattoo I was so pleased I chose the team at Harry Flashmans. Dracoe was an excellent guide to the whole process and discussing my design with an initial consultation. Once the design was agreed I was booked in a couple of weeks later. The tattoo itself took about 1.5 hours and Dracoe did an excellent job before, during and after. I followed his aftercare instructions and had no issues. Highly recommended! Thanks Dracoe!

Fantastic experience: Lovely Dracoe did my cat tattoo yesterday. So proud of the final design. He took on board what I wanted from the picture I sent and he came up with a fantastic likeness, explained everything he was going to do and made sure I was comfortable, even made me and my sister who came with me for support a welcoming cup of tea.
