Fantastic experience: My artist Jim was fantastic, he was attentive to what I wanted and made some suggestions to improve on it. He made sure I was comfortable and made sure to check often if I needed a break.

Donal took my consul station which covered everything I needed to pitch my ideas, get a quick mock up and book the appointment. Sam was the artist doing my tattoo and she done a fab job. She offered a solution to open them up as they weren’t fully closed which reduced my healing time and saved me a bit of cash! Fantastic experience: Had my first ever tattoo on Thursday with the lovely Sam! Obviously I was a little anxious and didn't know what to expect, Sam made me feel at ease and answered all of my endless questions which reassured me. My tattoo took just shy of 6 hours to complete and I couldn't be more pleased with the result. It was a tattoo very dear to my heart and my ongoing journey through life and Sam was amazing from listening to my story to perfecting a tattoo which is perfect for me. (Even if she did enjoy slightly seeing me in pain at times) I couldn't recommend her highly enough. The detail within my tattoo is just incredible and it was so nice to see just how passionate she was when creating it. From start to finish I was well informed and communicated with from the initial design consultation to the aftercare. Thank you again Sam and the whole skinworks fam! ❤️

Fantastic experience: I walked into Skinworks with just an idea for a half-sleeve, my first ever tattoo, and after talking it through with the team, I was pointed in the direction of Mark Thompson, who specialises in black and grey realism. That’s where my tattoo journey began. All I can say is that Mark Thompson is an absolute legend. His talent is unreal, and his attention to detail is on another level. From the very first session, he made the whole experience easy, relaxed, and genuinely enjoyable. He’s down to earth, great to chat with, and has that rare ability to turn an idea into something completely unique and meaningful. Since that first tattoo, I haven’t gone to anyone else. Mark has completed a full sleeve on my right arm, and earlier this year at the Belfast Tattoo Convention we started my left arm, which we’re now continuing to work on together. And when that’s finished, I already know I’ll be coming back for a full back piece with him. If you’re considering black and grey realism, I can’t recommend Mark Thompson highly enough. His work speaks for itself, and the experience he creates keeps you coming back for more.

Fantastic experience: I'm getting my laser tattoo removal done here. The salon has been in business for a couple of years which means they're experienced and trusted. The place is nice & clean, always someone to greet you at the desk, they're quick to respond if any questions or queries, easy to make bookings. Tattoo that I'm getting removed fading & healing alright, happy with the results. Donal is very professional and excellent at work he does also nice person to chat with. Keep an eye on their social media they do all sorts of promotions, special offers. Location is very handy so near city centre. To anyone who's looking to get any tattoos or to remove the ones you no longer want to I highly recommend this place 10/ 10

Fantastic experience: I recently took my six-year-old daughter to Skinworks (to have her ears pierced for the first time) and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The studio is immaculately clean and beautifully decorated. A special thank you goes to our piercer, Katie – she was welcoming, fun and took the time to explain everything clearly which helped my daughter feel at ease. It’s been a couple of weeks now and my daughter’s ears are healing beautifully with no issues at all. I’ll definitely be back!

Fantastic experience: Perfect First Tattoo Experience. ​I just got my very first tattoo at Skinworks Belfast, and I genuinely couldn't have asked for a better experience. ​As a first-timer, I was naturally a little nervous, but my artist DC, was excellent. The entire studio is impeccably clean and highly professional, which immediately put me at ease. They took time to get the stencil placement perfect and walked me through every step of the process. ​The whole session was surprisingly comfortable; DC managed my comfort levels expertly with breaks and communication. Plus the rest of the staff are great checking in and puttingyou at ease. The final result is absolutely amazing—the lines are crisp, and the piece is everything I hoped for. ​If you're looking for a top-tier studio, especially for your first piece, this is the place to go. Highly, highly recommend! Going to book an appointment very soon for the next piece.

Fantastic experience: I wanted to get a couple of piercings done and I came in to Belfast City Skinworks as I've been there before (a few years ago) I went in and the piercer Karen was standing behind the desk. As you go in to skinworks you can feel such a relaxing and calming atmosphere. Karen took me back to do my piercings but because of were I was getting my piercings Karen did a thorough job looking to see if she could see marks left behind after taking all my jewellery years ago. Instead of having to do full on piercings she was able to reopen my piercings. Karen is good crack she puts you right at ease and tells you exactly what she is doing. She is really gental when she is piercing. I WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK

Fantastic experience: Excellent tattoo experience today with tattoo artist Amy. Amy was absolutely superb, she listened to my ideas and added to/worked with them. The tattoo location was on the upper chest and neck area and I was dreading the associated pain. Amy’s pleasant and professional demeanour put me at ease instantly. Amy’s attention to detail along with her very gentle approach and tattooing technique paid off massively. The pain was easily tolerated. The end result exceeded my expectations and I have no hesitation in recommending Amy and Belfast Skin Works for that matter. From consultation with Donal to the end result was perfect and very professional.

Fantastic experience: I’ve had technically three tattoos done by Amy Watson (Scotchbonnet Tattoos) and all i can say is that she is a credit to the place. Not only is she incredibly talented at her job, all of my tattoos done by her have been effortless heals and zero aftercare issues. Both times i gave her a rough idea on what i wanted and she knew exactly what i was going for and i couldn’t be happier with her designs. I couldn’t recommend her enough to people and constantly get asked where ive gotten them done and who by, she makes the experience so comfortable and relaxing. If i ever decide i want more i’ll definitely be going back to Amy!!

Negative experience: I got a tattoo done around a year and a bit ago. I had wanted a particular design and requested a certain artist, however I was told by I believe Donal that he wouldn’t want to do that design because it is entry level. Fair enough, but would have preferred it to come from the artist himself. I was given an apprentice, I found this out by checking the name of my tattoo artists and their instagram page, and I was happy enough with my tattoo, but now after having multiple tattoos I can say they were quite heavy handed and it was painful. I have gotten tattoos since then in more “painful” places and I can say the one I got from skin works was the most painful. When I was in the consultation, I wanted a smaller tattoo, however I was told to get bigger so it is more visible and a tattoo that small would be hard to do. I think this was actually to suit the company’s needs. What annoyed me the most is someone told the apprentice, that I would have preferred to get a different artist and twice there was off the cuff remarks about it. I believe, something as personal and permanent as a tattoo should be dealt with great understanding and sensitivity, and this was not the case. If a client doesn’t want an apprentice they should be listened to! It is their body after all. I sadly can’t recommend this place.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing experience. Karen was my piercier, and she explained things so thoroughly. I had intended on getting both a septum and nostril piercing, however emerged with only a nostril piercing after Karen explained the healing process and how the shape of my nose affects the piercing. I was very pleased to have this explained to me (will be going back for a septum!). She then went on to explain how to clean my nostril piercing properly and explained certain situations with it and how to handle them. Loved my experience.

Negative experience: Changed my mind on design with good notice prior to appointment. Guy discussing new design was opinionated and said "sure everyone has that for someone like their granda that died at whatever time." Was awkward with new idea giving ideas completely unrelated. Original price was 1400 was then told that new design to cover the same area would be double the price! Just seemed that because he didn't like the idea he couldn't be bothered accommodating even though I had paid 100 deposit. At no point did I actually speak to a tattooist who would be completing the work. Guy on the phone cancelled my appointment without my input. I have since found a fantastic artist to complete the tattoo exactly as I have requested. Not a good experience with bcskinworks Post note since the negative experience Ive since been to the other artist who has made an amazing job of my cover up. Picture is after second full day sitting and 1 more to go and will still be under half of the 1400 quoted by bc skinworks
