Fantastic experience: Had two outer conch piercings done by Rossie a couple wks ago. She had such a great selection of jewelery to choose from. I definitely plan to go back there. She was professional, sweet, precise and very knowledgable. She made the whole experience very comfortable. The place is also clean and comfortable. Love my piercing and I would recommend this place in a heart beat.

Fantastic experience: A very wonderful and warm experience! Mimi is professional and her studio is absalutely beautiful! the private atmosphere was very comfortable. Mimi has a way to make you feel at ease and is super easy to talk with and offered beverages to stay hydrated during our session! She asked regularly if I was doing okay, and gave me breaks when I needed them, which assured me I was in good hands! I will definitely be recommending them to everyone! Fantastic experience: (Brantford Location) I don't even know where to start. The shop itself, WOW. Stunning. Absolutely beautiful! Gothic Chic? It's very cool! The shop is so clean, with a very calm, welcoming atmosphere. I've followed Mimi's work for awhile. She extremely talented and when it comes to a hand piece, you need someone who knows what they're doing. Mimi was SO nice. Her energy is so warm. She's a lovely person and her work speaks for itself. I have never been happier with a tattoo piece. I hope she remains in Brantford because I will not go anywhere else. I left the shop so happy with my piece and truly feeling like I had made a friend. Fantastic experience: The first thing I noticed was the friendliness and professionalism of the person answering the phones and guiding through their booking process! When I booked a tattoo by Shannon, I wasn't disappointed! He was really kind and listened and worked with me and what I wanted. I was really happy with his work! The other artists there were welcoming and conversational and chill. This place has a great vibe and these are great artists who are honest people. Definitely going to go back next time I'm in Victoria!

Fantastic experience: I got my first tattoo done by Maddy in August and could not have had a more positive experience! All of the Eighth Empire staff were extremely welcoming and kind when I was in the studio which helped with the nerves of a first tattoo. Maddy was fantastic at making sure I knew what was going on every step of the way and ensured that I was 100% happy about the design, placement, and colouring before proceeding. She went above and beyond to ensure I had a positive first tattoo experience and made sure I left knowing everything I needed to for aftercare/healing. I would be hesitant to trust anyone other than Maddy with a needle so close to my face and I am grateful to have this lovely piece of art on my ear!

Fantastic experience: This is my absolute favourite shop in the GTA!! I have been tattooed by Mimi and Maddy for years and their work never fails to go above and beyond my expectations!! Both artists are very friendly, professional, responsible, and their shop is always clean! Fantastic experience: I started coming to Eighth Empire when Maddy joined the team. I’ve gotten a piercing and tattoo from Maddy so far as well as another tattoo booked, she is hands down one of the most diligent artists I’ve ever worked with. The shop is incredibly clean and covid safe, I’ve recommended it to family & friends based on that in itself alone. The pricing to me is quite fair, the jewelry for the piercings is some of the best quality I’ve had in my ears, as well as the quality of work for the tattoo’s.

Negative experience: My 18 yr old was hoping for a tattoo for her birthday. It was a flower. It appears they are so busy that they are in a position to refuse new clients. Must be nice.

Negative experience: I have been going to Eighth Empire for every piercing except for my lobes that I had done when I was little. For reference I started going to them for piercings back in 2016 and had never had an issue. A while I emailed back and forth with Kat (the receptionist) about booking in to get pierced once lockdown was lifted and was quite excited to go in to get pierced. I had three piercings done. One of the piercings was pierced incorrectly and I was told swelling could make it appear this way and to let the swelling go down before seeing the piercer again. Another piercing became infected very quickly after being pierced (about 3-4 days later). I had seen my doctor who had prescribed antibiotics for the piercing, which I had been taking as prescribed on top of cleaning my piercings twice a day with saline as I was told to do. I decided to email the shop to inform them of what had happened as I thought they should know, since it happened in their shop, and hoped to maybe get the piercings looked at to see if they’re at all fixable. I was informed of the dates and times available only after mentioning that a piercing was infected and had been told I would be seen Friday at 4:30. The day before my appointment, I woke up to a crust of dried blood in my hair from my ear and upon checking the piercing had begun to sink into my ear due to jewelry either being too short or being put in too tightly. Upon emailing the shop I was told no one was available, and so asked if it would be okay until my appointment tomorrow, and if not asked if I should go to urgent care, and was then told that availability was completely closed up and I could not be seen until next week at the earliest.

Negative experience: I had an appointment to touch up my tiny tattoo. With everything that been going on with covid, i end up missing my appointment due to school (some covid case mix up we weren't allowed in the college so everything got pushed back and I didn't make the appointment in time. Keep in mind this was out of my control and there was nothing I could've done to prevent missing the appointment.) I tried offering to pay for the appointment i missed and to book another one. The owner (Mimi) was not reasonable or understanding. Tried charging me $170 to reschedule the touch up of my 3cm tattoo that is only a year old, when I already paid $170 for the ttattoo in the first place. $340 for a small tattoo sounds beyond over price and not reasonable at all. Trustly upsetting. Even after explaining to her she did not care. If you want a good tattoo shop with great costumer service, don't go here. The shop is over priced and the owner is rude!

Fantastic experience: I've gone here for all of my tattoos and piercings for roughly 5 years now and I've always had a great experience! The staff are so friendly, everything is very clean, and the piercers and artists are professional and great at making you feel comfortable. Prices are reasonable and jewelry is high quality. I refuse to go anywhere else for my body mods!

Fantastic experience: I went to Eighth Empire since Maddy started working there, I have gotten two tattoos from her (one at Eighth Empire). The store is beautiful and welcoming, and Maddy has such a light touch. She cares about her customers and replaces the stencil multiple times prior to inking to make sure the tattoo follows the flow of the body. She tattooed my collarbone and my upper rib, and for such sensitive spots, the tattoo was barely uncomfortable :)

Fantastic experience: I had the absolute pleasure of having Maddy do a inner arm piece. She cares just as much of her client as she does with the quality of beautiful art she produces. She maintained Covid policy and procedures and I felt very safe while in the shop. She was gentle with the needle, has an eye for detail, ensures you are comfortable at all times, and gives you detailed aftercare. Her professionalism blows me away while maintaining a enjoyable and positive tattoo experience. If you need some ink, do yourself a favour and book with Maddy! You won’t be disappointed.

Fantastic experience: I just got my 4th piece from my 3rd artist at Eighth Empire. (Karen - now at her own studio, Mimi and now Miranda) I have always been so pleased by the care these artists take in their work, and receive compliments and inquiries as to where I got my work done. The maple keys Miranda did on my upper arm are so delicate and beautiful. I've already booked my 2nd piece w her, and will be booking a 3rd after that one. Positive experience: Love this place!! So professional and great jewlery selection... Yes, you pay more than places with peircing specials. In my opinion its for a good reason with the quality and professionalism you receive.

Positive experience: i’ve heard many different things from friends but this review will be in MY experience...piercers are great, probably the only decent ones in Burlington in my opinion. they are very informational and make sure that you’re comfortable with everything that is happening. however it is EXTREMELY overpriced! there is also something shady about the whole business that i can’t exactly put my finger on. also their hours are ALL over the place. tldr: overpriced, kind of weird and they’re never open when they say they are

I'm very glad I found this place, it is very clean, comforting and professional. I went here to get my tongue pierced and it was the easiest piercing I've had done thus far. They also do tattoos as well.

I had to pop in the other day for some jewelry adjustment, and was reminded how helpful and friendly the ladies are. Everyone I’ve dealt with, including the admin staff, is awesome. Fantastic experience: If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. I am newish to Burlington and was looking around for a tattoo artist to do a memorial for my father. I stumbled on Karen through Instagram and fell inlove with her method. I set a date and gave her an idea of a wolf, moon, and northern lights. She did not disappoint! She did above my expectation and it quickly became my favourite tattoo. I went a second time as a walk-in with a friend to get a semi-colon done. Miranda was available and she was very attentive to what we wanted. As long as I live close by, this will forever be the studio I go to.

They went above and beyond than my expectations. The girl was super sweet and very knowledgeable. She helped me pick out some new jewelry to replace my improper ones, cleaned them well and than gave me some really great tips on how to ensure they heal properly! Fantastic experience: Most amazing piercing experience. Rossie is phenomenal. After being told at another place that I couldn't get my belly button pierced I was upset because I have always wanted it. After doing some research on places close to home I found this place and I am so glad I did. Rossie took the time to explain and allow me to get my belly button pierced. She was extremely precise to make sure that it would be comfortable and suitable for me. The whole process went very smooth and I felt extremely comfortable unlike my experiences elsewhere. This feeling of comfortableness made me not so scared of the pain. A week later and I havent had one issue at all with it, AND it looks much better than I thought. I will recommend this place to anyone, the jewellary, the service and the atmosphere is amazing and worth the tiny bit higher price, as you will definitely be looked after. I will be coming here for my next piercing and tattoo.

Fantastic experience: Tattoo: A full colour 4 inch Hawkeye. Hawkeye is from Marvel comics (the guy with the bow, Jeremy Renner from the movies). Shop: Very clean. Great atmosphere. Private tattoo area (some shops are more open). Free parking at the shop, and easy to find off the 403. Artist: Karen Awesom was my artist and she actually is awesome! Check out her photos online to see the styles she can do. She was the perfect choice for what I wanted and I got exactly what I envisioned. The tattoo itself is perfectly applied and all the colours (blue and purple) blend together nicely producing a very vibrant look. Price: Karen has her fee posted on her site and the tattoo came out less than I expected. It took about 2 hours and that is exactly what I paid for. Healing: The tattoo has healed nicely. There was no scabbing and there will not be much touching up to do. I have had tattoos in the past where 50% of the tattoo had to be redone. Final Thoughts: This was a great experience, and I think it’s my favorite tattoo. The moment I left the shop my mind was already thinking of ideas for my next tattoo (which I have already booked). I would highly recommend Karen and the shop to anyone looking to get inked. 5/5

Fantastic experience: Rossie pierced my daith and did a fabulous job, being exceptionally attentive to exactly how I wanted it placed and what I wanted the finished piercing to look like. She’s super careful in her work and it really shows. It’s healing brilliantly and I love it! I never, for a minute, felt rushed or treated like anything but a valued client. She also gives great aesthetic advice and the time you need to make your final choices. I’ve seen Rossie several times now, with more visits to her in my near future for new piercings or jewelry. I originally chose Rossie because of the great reviews here, and they’re all true. She’s wonderful.

Fantastic experience: Eighth Empire is excellent. I got my second tattoo done today (2nd over all but first from this location) and I couldn't be happier with the result. Chris was my artist and he did a phenomenal job, very professional. The parlour is very clean inside and each artist has their own cubical for privacy which is a great decision. The staff I had talked to were very friendly, knowledgeable and the entire time I got my piece done I was never uncomfortable or in pain. It was a very calm and relaxed environment, I genuinely enjoyed it. I'd go back with no questions asked.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely recommend this shop!! I've attempted to have my nose pierced 5 times before at different shops, using different techniques, with different jewellery over 7 years with no luck...That's until I found Eighth Empire last January...Voila!! My piercing stayed in, no infection, no rejection and I'm a very satisfied customer. The staff is awesome, very friendly, very patient and knowledgeable. Fantastic experience: I came here with a friend for a few piercings and we were both blown away by how patient, caring and professional our piercer, Rossie was. She took her time explaining everything to us and had no problem answering any questions we had. I've had horrible piercings in the past with a gun, where here they use a "needle" method which hurts less and is less prone to infections. I'm very happy we came here and will be returning in the future!

Fantastic experience: I went in for a consultation and to book an appointment for an ear re-piercing. My first impressions walking in was that the studio is bright, welcoming, and clean. I met with Rossie, who was very nice and took the time to address my concerns and show me their jewelry options. I was actually very nervous about having my ears re-pierced as I had it done as a baby, so I don't know how well I'll handle any pain. But, I am looking forward to it at this studio, in Rossie's hands. I'm most excited about picking out earrings. They have a wonderful selection of jewelry!

Fantastic experience: I have been here a few times, once for a tattoo and once for a piercing. The tattoo wasn't so good and faded very quickly, but the piercing process was INCREDIBLE. So much care taken to make sure I had a say in everything that went on and knew exactly what my piercer was doing every step of the way. They display certification openly on their walls as an immediate reassurance that they know what they're doing, and they provide lots of instruction for their clients. The art for tattoos is beautiful and the building is kept sparkling clean. A warning, they ARE a bit more pricey than you'd expect; the website says $40 for an eyebrow piercing but that doesn't include the cost of jewellery, which is about the same. I believe it's worth it though: you get what you pay for when dealing with body mods. 10/10 would go again

Fantastic experience: Brought my 7 year old daughter to get her ears pierced yesterday. From the moment we walked in we felt comfortable and welcome. Rossie assisted my daughter in picking out the right sized earrings for her and was very warm and friendly, making my daughter feel comfortable with the whole experience. Every step was explained to my daughter and her input was asked in regards to placement. Which made her feel like a "big girl". After care was also thoroughly explained. All in all a great experience. According to my daughter "if you want to get your ears pierced. That's the place to do it." Thank you for making my daughter's Christmas wish come true.

Fantastic experience: My 6yr old decided she wanted to get her ears pierced so we booked an appointment today. We had Rossie who was friendly, knowledgeable and thorough. She took the time to make sure my daughter was comfortable and explained everything to me and her along the way. I would have no problem recommending this shop to my friends and family. I didn't think about getting my daughter's ears pierced at a tattoo shop but in hindsight why wouldn't I - they do this ALL the time - they should know what they're doing! I am so glad I didn't go to the mall where they would allow almost anyone to do the piercings in an environment that is not hygienic and with someone who is inexperienced. Also, I spent a little bit more on quality earrings through the shop for the piercings but it was well worth the price since they look beautiful.

Fantastic experience: This is by far the cleanest shop I've ever been in, and I've been in a lot! After hearing so many rave reviews on a couple of Facebook Moms groups, we decided to have our daughters ears pierced by Karen Awesom. The experience by far exceeded our expectations! She was friendly, and patient with my daughter. Explained everything to both of us, and answered any questions she had. She didn't rush us, or get frustrated when my daughter got nervous. I would give 10 stars if I could! Staff was very friendly and the atmosphere of the place was so welcoming. When it's time for tattoos, or any other piercings I know where I'll be going!
