You look on Tik Tok and you see a fine line artist who is just out of apprenticeship, and they have a convoluted system for waitlist checking. Rather than run the risk of getting a shitty tattoo that may fade out in a couple of years, why not go to Saskatoon’s best. Rites of Passage tattoo is the premiere tattoo studio in Saskatoon. They have two shops and they are both absolutely awesome! You are guaranteed to get high quality work with no stress. I’ve been coming here for 20 years, and I will continue to do. I have talked to numerous artists in the city and ROP is where they book their work. The Burke Brothers are known as the best of the best. Every single artist is knowledgeable, easy to work with and you will get the proper results you want. When it comes to permanent art on your body, Rites of Passage is your first call. Fantastic experience: I came to ROP for Japanese-style work and got exactly what I hoped for: crisp linework, saturated color, and a design that flows perfectly with the body. From consult to aftercare, the staff were welcoming, knowledgeable, and on point with hygiene and setup. Scheduling was easy, the stencil fit was meticulous, and the session pacing was great. If you’re after quality Japanese tattooing and a professional crew, this is the spot.

Fantastic experience: Exceptional artistry. I came to Pat about five years ago with a vision for a traditional Japanese-style back piece, something inspired by classic ukiyo-e imagery. He not only brought that vision to life, but elevated it beyond what I could have imagined. The level of detail, the composition, and the way the artwork moves with my body is amazing. 5 years later, the lines are crisp, the shading has aged beautifully. His studio was professional, calm, and welcoming, and his respect for the Japanese design traditions was clear from the first consultation. If you’re looking for an artist who treats tattooing as both an art and a discipline, ROP is where you want to go.

Fantastic experience: A absolute professional experience. Artists are all top notch and can actually draw. ( Amazing in this day and age). They won't force your tattoo on you because they don't want to design any more. ( Will redraw until you are 100% happy with the design) I recommend everyone I know to go there

Fantastic experience: These tattoos were done by Pat roughly 2 years apart with slight touch ups when adding detail. He was very easy to work with and gives honest recommendations when creating your tattoo. Pat was extremely detailed and great at his job. Highly recommend both shops, the artwork on the wall is beautiful and has a huge variety for all.

Fantastic experience: Just finished up my arm sleeve with Kit at ROP West. My experience was amazing from start to finish. I met Kit at the tattoo convention in Saskatoon and his positivity and professionalism made my decision picking him as my artist very easy. Kit starts with an in person consultation and you can tell he uses his art background and years of tattooing experience to take your ideas and explain how he sees them working on your body. I did 4 sittings with Kit and his art work was spot on what I wanted, he was even able to add a tattoo the day of that I came up in my head. The shop is super relaxing with good music and even better conversation. I did long sittings and the days flew but because of the great vibes Kit brings everyday. If anyone is looking for an amazing artist that works in a quality, clean and legit tattoo studio, Kit is your guy.

Fantastic experience: Kendra did mine and my sisters second lobe piercing and it went by so quick and painless.. even after it was done it didn’t hurt at all the next day either. Jill is super speedy and her work is always amazing- she nails every single tattoo and is fun to hang around with for an afternoon. Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming to this shop for over a year now! I’ve gotten facial and ear piercings and all have turned out beautifully! Both piercers are so knowledgeable and helpful. I’ve also been tattooed here by multiple artists and it’s always way better than I could ever imagine!! I absolutely love this shop and recommend it to everyone!! Super clean and always friendly :)

Negative experience: To be clear, I’m not giving this shop 2-stars, but rather the artist. Booked with Nicky and she did the initial outline which I loved and her idea was beautiful, but getting the rest finished was a nightmare. Her communication just wasn't there, it took days for her to text me back. I had a deadline of when it needed to get done and we passed it because she cancelled the follow up appt 3x. The first being 40min before my appt, 2nd time when I arrived at the shop, and 3rd an hour before the appt. She's no doubt talented but unreliable. So when I decided to have it finished elsewhere, she wouldn't refund me my deposit, even though she failed to deliver on her end by meeting our agreed upon timeline.

Fantastic experience: ROP is the most iconic(and premier) shop in Saskatoon. Recently started seeing Joe Shedden regularly, and he's a master of his craft, which is traditional Americana. No rotary, coil all the way. But I'd recommend any artist at ROP. Everyone who tattoos here is a master of at least one style, and is well worth a collaboration. Lots of amazing guest artists coming through lately too!

Fantastic experience: So I had a appointment on Sunday and we got over a foot of snow overnight, even Churches were closed and Kitchener WALKED to my appointment!!! Best artist ever!!! I am gonna be back in Saskatoon in a few months to do a job and am hoping to come back and get it touched up! The artist then came and watched our show at The Wash and Slosh that night hahaha! I was nervous to get my first tattoo as it’s a big commitment however Vic did such a stellar job that I am still completely satisfied with it and wouldn’t change a single thing. They made my ideas pop better than I had in my mind. I get compliments all the time. I got a confirmation phone call a few days before which was great. Negative experience: Called Monday to book for Thursday. They said to call Thursday… I call Thursday and now they’re full? Why not just let us book on the initial call or actually check the schedule and let us know it’s full? Unfortunately this has left a sour feeling towards your business with customer service that could only say “I don’t know what to tell you”. A simple sorry would suffice Sounds to me as though the person answering the call didn’t want to do their job and take bookings both on Monday and now today (Thursday)

The spaces and the shop itself are clean and look awesome. Cant speak for all the artist, but if they're anything like Elise I would 100% recommend them all! She explained each aspect, was friendly throughout the tattoo, and made me excited for more. 10 out of 10 experience from both the shop and staff.

Fantastic experience: Bryan did an amazing job! I went in to get something I regretted covered up, and wound up with a pretty fantastic piece that says "me'! He made me safe and comfortable ( only my second tattoo!) and kept me engaged and conversing the whole time he worked. If(WHEN) I get more work done, I'm coming back here!!

Negative experience: Im posting this from my anon account because i dont want to be spoken to further about my situation, but every single person i know has been dissapointed and unimpressed with Bryan's work. He is inappropriate, cocky, and overall every piece from him seems very amateur at least that I've seen. My tattoo from him needs to be completely redone, as i am embarrassed when people look at it too closely because the lines, placement and proportions are completely off. Either more practice, or a new career path might be the best bet, because i am not the only one who has to live with a subpar tattoo for the rest of my life. Bad bad bad. I trusted this place for the reviews. Extremely dissapointed. I would not be as heated if it werent for the childish behaviour on top of it all. The receptionist was very kind though:)

Fantastic experience: On the day of my sitting Graeme was clean, efficient, professional and obviously did a truly fantastic job of the tattoo itself. This was my first tattoo and it was a completely positive experience. He really took my concept and articulated it beautifully. He took time in the consult to help me understand how he could make the concept look great and what would work well (understanding that ink in your skin behaves differently over time and that a great tattoo needs to look great in 20 years too). The vibe in the shop was very chill, helpful and the solid music selections were an added bonus. Thank you Graeme. This tattoo means a lot to me. I know that Lonnie would be proud.

Every piece I have seen leave the location are extremely beautiful art work! The store manager guided me into selecting the best artist for the type of work I was looking for. Turned out to be a perfect match, Ellise does some of the best work I have seen! She needs to be happy with her work which is what you should be looking for when selecting an artist! We compromised on a more conservative design, but on the day of he went all out and went for the more complex details and did an absolutely amazing job.
