Neon Tattoos & Piercing

Negative experience: This is not a rating of the parlour itself as it was professional clean and well kept, this is a review of one of the “artists” working there a few years ago, I wanted rays of light added onto an existing cross tattoo on my left pectoral, I wanted an effect of smaller light rays shining around the larger main piece that was the focus point (the cross) I won’t name the employee and I have no idea if he still works there or not but during the application of the stencil the rays went all the way up around have way up my neck, I told him absolutely not as I just wanted smaller light rays around my chest, he proceeded using the darkest blackest color ink and the largest thickest rectangular shapes around my chest, once it was done I was absolutely horrified and have since had it fixed it costed me around $250-275 and had me feeling sick with regret, even after paying hundreds and hundreds of dollars and hours of pain I am still left with a horrible tattoo, I still need to spend more money and sit through agonizing sessions to have this fixed further, the shading was added by my current artist but the black rectangles that I asked to be rays of light were added by the employee at neon crab. Moral of the story is do lots of research on who is giving you a permanent piece of ink that will stay with you forever. ( I can not find pictures of when it was first done as I was so ashamed and embarrassed) if you’ve read all of this thanks for listening to my rant, not sure of the artists who are working there now but I’d advise avoid for larger pieces…

Fantastic experience: I went here to get a new nose stud from here and had it set up by the blonde haired girl, so sweet and felt so comfortable with her. Would definitely come back here for any piercings. :)

Fantastic experience: Amy is fantastic my seven year old was unable to get her second ear done today... Amy was understanding, kind, empathetic, and very knowledgeable! We will absolutely be back when she's ready. Would highly recommend her for piercings! **edited to add we came back for her other ear, and Amy was just as amazing. Very happy kiddo in the end. Positive experience: Great service. Megan is amazing. A light touch, fine line work, and great design skills. Fast, too. Both my husband and myself have gotten tattoo here and we love them both. Free touch ups within a year is something I've never had offered to me before. It's a fantastic add on.

She’s very professional and maintains a clean working environment. Her artwork is very cute and girly which is up my alley ! Love the tattoos she has done for me and will be going back :) 10/10 would recommend !!

Negative experience: DO NOT GET PIERCINGS HERE!!! PLS READ Employee was careless and stabbed cheek with needle. Absolutely terrible service and hurt my gf. If I could give 0 stars I would. I don’t want to mention the persons name to get them in trouble, but everything was going very well for my gf’s eyebrow piercing until the very end when the piercer took out the needle from the eyebrow and punctured my girlfriends cheek and kept sliding it in. I asked them if they saw that they were hurting her and they replied “I’m sorry I wasn’t paying attention” then proceeded to hand a business card. DO NOT GET PIERCINGS HERE

Update: After almost a year of having the tattoo there is definitely some issues especially regarding the symbol at the wrist, otherwise even after 11 months it still looks good and I get a lot of questions/compliments

Fantastic experience: Morgan is an absolutely amazing artist. She is extremely personable, easy to talk to & gentle. She takes the time to ensure you're going to be happy & enjoy the piece of art she is tattooing on your body. I had 2 previous tattoos, that I passed out getting both by 2 different artists. It wasn't until Morgan that I was able to stay awake during the process of my tattoos, between her gentleness & her recommendations prior to my appointment to eat & drink properly. I have now received 5 pieces of art done by Morgan. Thank you, for my beautiful pieces of art & your gentleness & kindness. I'll be back to "balance" myself out.

Fantastic experience: I went in to have an earring removed due to swelling in my ear. Megan flawlessly removed it, relieving me of the pain I was experiencing. Her knowledge and expertise are unmatched, and I highly recommend her for any future ear piercings!

He is the first artist I've had that has made me feel super comfortable. He is efficient and professional. The whole staff has been amazing and they are super friendly. This was a first tattoo experience and Matthew was understanding of my concerns and listened with an open mind. He was also very forthright in his replies. Fantastic experience: I cannot speak highly enough about this place.. I had the best experience getting my nose pierced by Brianne she is so nice and made me feel comfortable. I was a nervous wreck when I went in there but that soon went away. Jason that was at the front desk was also awesome! He offered to hold my hand when I was getting it done for support. I thought that was sooo sweet! Thank you again. It really helped me. Also they let me put on relaxing music on my phone to help me calm down n he held the phone to my ear for me. My daughter wants her bellybutton pierced n I will definitely b taking her here! Fantastic experience: I had the most wonderful experience getting pierced by Jaison. Im 25 and although I have multiple piercings I never go to a piercer more than once as I have in the past had not the best experiences, however, that changed today! Im nervous when it comes to change as I’m very particular. Im also nervous around needles (fine getting pierced pain wise but don’t like to see the needle itself) and find piercers don’t typically take the time and understanding to make me feel comfortable. Jaison was patient and understanding. He took the time to make sure I was happy with the placement, that I was feeling good and ready and then proceeded walking me through what was happening all while telling me when to close my eyes to avoid seeing sharps . After each piercing Jaison showed me how it looked checked on how I was doing, asked if I was ready and then we went again. I not only love the look of my piercings I love the experience provided and the understanding that Jaison had . I’m excited to continue the piercing plans for my ears with Jaison and look forward to coming back!

Fantastic experience: Had an amazing experience!! Went in today and had Jaison as my piercer! Got 2 lobe piercings done and had my tragus stretched to put in new jewellery! Jaison did a fantastic job, took his time marking everything up, was calm and patient while the process was happening and explaining every step along the way which made me feel very comfortable! Explained the care process afterwards as well as what to expect with the healing! The shop itself had a great atmosphere and was super clean and well organized! I highly recommend going in!!

Fantastic experience: I had my eyebrow and belly button pierced by Johnny and HECK YES best piercing experience ever!!! I hate needles and have had some awful piercing experiences, so I was nervous. Johnny took time to learn why and to ease those nerves. I laughed the whole time and genuinely had a good time in the shop. I couldn't believe how easy he made the piercing process. As a first time client, I had some nerves about how inclusive the shop would be when it came to fat queer folks getting belly button piercings. It turns out I had nothing to be worried about. Fantastic experience: Got my first tattoo ever with Megan recently! I love it so much. I'd had an appointment for January booked for a while, but since I might move, Megan made sure that I was at the top of the priority for filling in any cancellations! My cat died last week, and though the tattoo was originally supposed to be just an appreciation of her, it ended up being a memorial tattoo. Megan was amazing about making sure everything about the style was to my liking - I'm an artist as well, so I can be very picky with things like shading, linework, and proportions, and she really was super accommodating. The session went great, and as she worked, I kept looking down and getting happy all over again because I loved the design so much! Best stars, all of the stars, such a great experience and lovely tattoo.

Fantastic experience: Best service ever!!! Breanne was professional and so nice. Breanne helped me fix a bad piercing from a Grand Bend store that doesn’t support their customers with complications. She took care to keep things sterile and explained everything to me. She gave me her card and told me to contact her should I need further instructions. This is how you do businesses! I will be returning for all my future piercings.

Fantastic experience: Yesterday, I got my 5th tattoo done by Megan, as well as she touched up another tattoo I had done previously. My experience with Megan has been nothing but positive, and she always makes my visit comfortable and enjoyable! She is very talented in what she does :) I also commend her on her communication skills in how you can be sure to get a reply from her a day or two after messaging or emailing. Though she is busy!! Neon Crab in general is such a great shop :) everyone is friendly and the atmosphere is sick! Thanks so much again! Until I get more ink

Negative experience: Didn’t even want to call me back. Have waited 2 weeks even for a call back from one of the piercers or Megan the owner and have not. They kept me on the phone for 45 minutes because they would book a session and then cancel it. After running me around for 45 minutes they said they would get Megan to call me to see if she can fit me in. Never heard back. Only heard bad things about this place and this cemented that they don’t actually want to work.

Fantastic experience: Got my septum done by Megan today and all I can say is that there should be a 10 star option because she would get it! First of all the shop itself and her work area were extremely clean and sanitary. Apparently I have a deviated septum I did not know about and her examination of my nose was very thorough. She made sure it was in the perfect spot, pierced it quickly, and was very very helpful when I out of nowhere, almost blacked out. I would highly recommend Megan to anyone who wants a piercing! She will make sure you know everything you need to during the process and aftercare, do it professionally/quick, and make you feel very comfortable.

Positive experience: I got my nose pierced the person doing it was vary nice and let me know before they did anything made sure the i liked it and everything.however i fell they could of gon a little quicker when they put the needle in my nose other then that i think its a good place to go.

Fantastic experience: My friend and I went to see Josh at Neon Crab for our first tattoos and we are both extremely pleased with the experience. Josh was extremely professional and helped us ease our nervousness. The whole shop was very clean and he even showed us the needles in the package before tattooing us, which was reassuring. It was evident that cleanliness is a top priority. The tattoos were fine lines and they turned out perfect. We are both very happy with how our tattoos turned out and would definitely recommend Josh.

Positive experience: I went here yesterday to get my lip pierced, awesome staff, clean place.. But today my piercing just- fell out. I haven’t been playing with it or unscrewing it, and now it won’t screw back on, I can’t drive an hour just to get a new labret and there is none where I live, A but disappointed.

Fantastic experience: Josh as always went beyond what I asked for and has done yet another amazing addition to my sleeve so far! He does such an amazing job and he makes for an amazing time when you sit with him for an 8 hour session! Everyone else there is also always so welcoming! Recommend to anyone! 5 stars all the way!

Fantastic experience: Went in for an 8 hour session my first time. I want to do a whole left sleeve. My artist is Josh and he did amazing work. We only stopped to eat for a few minutes, but other than that he went 8 hours straight! Very impressive. When you do an 8 hour stretch the cost is $800 + tax which is extremely cost efficient. Very nice atmosphere. I thought I’d be watching Netflix the whole time and ended up talking to everyone the entire time! Can’t wait to go back in Dec. for another 8 hours!

Fantastic experience: I got my septum pierced by Brianne and I could not have felt more comfortable, this was my first piercing and she was so welcoming and efficient. I also had a bit of a fainting spell afterwards (fear of needles I think) and all the staff was so attentive and so kind afterwards, 100% will recommend to any and all of my friends and family. Thank you Brianne so much for making this piercing possible for me and to all the staff who helped me when I was feeling the effects of my nerves afterwards haha. I truly appreciate it! :)

Negative experience: This place is amazing for tattoos, but I can’t say the same for piercings. In terms of tattoos, this tattoo shop is great and has such a chill vibe to make you feel comfortable. Josh did an amazing job and was very chill, kept me talking so I was distracted from the tattoo pain and showed me the area around him was clean including the needle which was brand new. However, for piercings, the piercer Megan told me to clean my helix with soap and water even though my doctor and every other piercing place I’ve been to suggested otherwise, which resulted in a mild infection which thankfully resolved and healed. The second time I went was recently in July 2020 to get my septum pierced. I went to do it with Kiara, and she did a good job with the piercing itself. However, the bead of the septum broke and i had no choice but to take it out since it was dangerous to keep it like that. I immediately called the next day after the jewelry came out to try to resolve this issue especially since the jewellery seemed to be faulty and cheap since it broke off only 4 days after inserting it in my septum. The individual on the phone said she will pass my message onto Will, the owner, and she never did as he never called me. I called back two weeks later and she said she will write my phone number down, and she did and said they will call me back. Few days pass, I get a call from an employee and said I should email him to discuss and I told her that he should reach out since I reached out multiple times. I simply never got an email from him. I hate to complain about a small business, especially whilst recovering from a pandemic with financial repercussions everywhere, but this also affected my body and it is very unprofessional when an immediate need to contact a client after damage to the body was done. For tattoos, Josh was amazing but please, don’t get a piercing at the Neon Crab. Legacy or other places will treat you better and not give you faulty healing advice as well as receive better treatment from a manager/owner.
