Fantastic experience: Got my first tattoo here. Very patient staff and talented artists would absolutely recommend.

Fantastic experience: Been waiting to get my first tattoo forever, and I finally bit the bullet with Ubi. She made my dream tattoo come to life and I’ve got no regrets.

Negative experience: It was a little while ago now, I wanted to let it breathe and see how I felt. Honestly this was over 6 months ago and when I think about it, I get upset. My dog had passed away and I wanted a tattoo of her paw print to remember her. I had made the inquiry online through email, sent reference photos. I am aware that getting a paw tattoo is not a novel concept, however I felt there was less than zero tact. I emailed back and forth, to late replies or "sorry we missed your last email" I get it things get busy. It was June 6 was my initial email and my tattoo eventually fell on Aug 1. I booked for a specific artist and date and time..which didn't matter. On the day, I was early, when you arrive there is nothing obvious that the shop is on the top floor. The ground floor with the sign looks like it's for sale. I couldn't get through by phone, I emailed again and was told to go upstairs, which I did. To meet someone that was not my artist and replied to me as "the paw print guy" Like my dog died, I mentioned that in my emails. He told me that my artist was not on the schedule. So why did I even email back and forth and schedule a date? I waited for 30 min at a coffee shop (because I was asked nicely, I thought was kind of weird), came back waited another 30 minutes in the tattoo shop before I learned the artist I booked is not coming. I was even asked to reschedule, like what!? After an hour of waiting? After I confirmed the date? They did find someone last minute, like you know, what you would like to hear when you want to memorialize your dog on your body forever. My deposit wasn't found right away either even though I sent it. The whole thing felt unprofessional and scammy to me. I had to resend my reference photos to the new artist. The tattoo came out fine but for me the whole experience was unsalvagable. I could not recommend this place any less. Worst tattoo experience in my life in Vancouver, and I have needed cover ups. 0 stars

Starting with your communication, customer service and friendliness to meeting Cherry and seeing her design. Her design was on point and grabbed what my wife had in her head and put it onto the design. And Nathan who was at front desk, friendly and awesome customer service. Fantastic experience: Was a wonderful first experience. They made sure everything was perfect from going over how your body may react to horizontal placement. I was very relaxed and comfortable.

Fantastic experience: I’m very happy with my experience! Finding 7-8 hour parking was extremely tricky. My poor artist had to deal with starting 40 minutes late due to my inability to find parking. Very understanding and no complaints. THANK YOU! Lesson learned, give yourself 1/2 hour or so to find parking. Next getting into the building was tricky. What looked to be the main door was locked. You have to go in through the small doors on either side of the main entrance then go up the stairs to the third floor. The studio seems to be a converted 1 bedroom apartment with about 3 stations in the bedroom area and about 4 stations in what would have been living room/dining area. The space was very clean and decorated in a modern way. Pleasant “neutral” music plays and the lighting is quite subdued and relaxing. The staff had kind smiles and were all dressed in respectful manner. Communication with the artist was a breeze and Naia goes out of her way to make every client feel special! The quality of her work was incredible! I can’t wait to watch her continue developing and refining! I paid via credit card and was able to choose how to add on a tip. The person taking payment and doing client service at the front desk was smooth and professional. I hope to return someday!

Fantastic experience: Greeted as soon as I entered. Kyle was on time and very welcoming. Extremely talented.

Negative experience: Positives: The guest artist that did my tattoo was wonderful and welcoming even though English was not his first language. He did a very great job and I really love my tattoo. His tattoo artist friend also helped with translating and made the process go smoothly. Negatives: The reason why I gave two stars was the studio layout. Out of all the tattoo studios I’ve been too, this one was extremely crowded and all the tattoo artists and clients were stuffed into a “one bedroom apartment” setting. It was so easy for one client or tattoo artist to bump into another. I’ve visited other Chronic Ink studios in Toronto, they are all gorgeous and spacious. The Toronto studios puts the Vancouver studio to shame. Do better!!

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience with Justin and Kyle. Justin was incredibly helpful in coordinating my tattoo appointment. Despite some email issues, he made sure to stay in constant communication, relaying messages between Kyle and me. His patience and dedication ensured everything was clear and organized. Kyle, the tattoo artist, was equally fantastic. He was professional, patient, and attentive to every detail I wanted. The result was exactly what I envisioned, and I couldn’t be happier. Thank you both for making this such a smooth and pleasant experience!

Fantastic experience: I had a tattoo session with Orca Grey a few days ago and it was an amazing experience! Orca is very friendly, respectful, and patient! He’s been helpful throughout my whole experience, helping me with the design, idea, and aftercare! Definitely recommend and will come back again!!!!!

Negative experience: I had a neutral experience here. As follows: Positives: my tattoo turned out beautiful. I love it and there’s nothing I would change about it. Negatives: the studio is no longer on the ground floor, it’s on the third floor and the building has no elevator - meaning it is NOT wheelchair accessible. This caused an issue as my friend can not get a tattoo here now. The studio seems to be an apartment that was converted to a makeshift studio, so did not feel professional as you’re walking into a kitchen upon entry. The studio also had no air conditioning so it was quite hot and stuffy in there. My artist was a pop up artist, so not the studio’s fault, but she was over half an hour late and I had to sit there and wait. The staff wasn’t very welcoming either and barely spoke to me at all. The studio’s artists are also quite close together so there’s barely any room to move around and often had people stepping around me to get to their station. I’m not sure where those beautiful photos on the reviews in previous came from but now the studio is very dark and didn’t feel professional at all Just my personal opinion. And I am happy with my tattoo but wanted to especially highlight that those using wheelchairs, walkers, or any other mobility aid will not be able to get a tattoo here at all as the building is older with no elevator

Positive experience: Cherry my artist was absolutely amazing!! But reception could be better..my design got miscommunicated and caused a whole schedule change. But cherry was amazing and even came in on her day off to help me out.

Positive experience: The one receptionist did not read my request of a tattoo so when it came to the time of the appointment it was all messed up, the tattoo artist Cherry was blindsided and we had to come in again due to the amount of time it actually took. Cherry art work is beautiful so I would recommend just dming her on IG!!! I was so pissed.

I followed the online quiz to narrow down what I wanted, the staff suggested Jae as the artist and the process was super fast to get my appointment. Jae is an amazing artist and made me super comfortable.

Fantastic experience: Have recently got a tattoo from Yina and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the pre planning to when I went into the studio the vibe was welcoming and professional. Yina took the time to go over my ideas and offered some great suggestions to refine the design making it even better. Her attention to detail is incredible. Every line and shade was done with precision. She made sure I was comfortable throughout the process. The shop itself is clean, well laid out, and the whole team in there is very friendly. Fantastic experience: I went in and saw Mati yesterday, traveling all the way from Vancouver Island to start a portion of a leg sleeve. Mati was exceptionally friendly and kind, ensuring I was comfortable throughout the entire process. His professionalism was evident, and his work is absolutely stunning—one of the best tattoos I've ever received, if not my favorite (and I have quite a few!). I am extremely happy with the outcome and cannot recommend him enough for his exceptional color and anime work. I look forward to completing the rest of my leg sleeve with him in the future. Negative experience: I showed up early to my may 30th appointment that I booked and paid for over 2 months in advance. The artist showed up 25m late. Took 2.5 hrs to put on a tatto that should've taken 30m. Now, over a month later, the cheap ink he used is fading. Now I have to find a local shop to touch up or completely redo. Spent over $275 USD at this shop. Never again will use a shop that throws new artists at vacationing tourist.

She is amazing at fine lines and detail and is also just a kind and fun person to hang out with while you’re getting the tattoo done! Highly recommend working with her, she’s super talented and does amazing work! To review the shop, it’s a really welcoming vibe. Everyone was really nice and I’ll definitely come back again!

Fantastic experience: Super happy with my tattoo done by Dmitry. He takes his work very seriously and gives good advice and his opinion without being imposing. An example, which I really appreciate in hindsight, is he gave his opinion on the placement of my tattoo and clearly explained how it might look a bit stretched and off kilter. He’s also very responsive between sessions and a really nice guy who makes you feel comfortable, which is important when getting something done that’s going to be on your body for the rest of your life! Will definitely go to Dmitry for my next one.

Negative experience: Careful who you get. I saw Andrew. Had a full in person consultation and when he sent me the drawing it was nothing like we discussed. I let him know and asked him to send an update before I went in and he never did. When I got there, what he redrew was still nowhere near what I asked for. Had to sit there for over an hour waiting for for him to draw again. As for the tattoo, he missed a few spots and it’s warped. Not thrilled about that. Went in for the free touch up and he still missed spots.

Fantastic experience: Got a Nanami tattoo done by Mati Milla. It was a great experience! He was open to changing any part of the design I didn't like. He is very nice and super chill. And the work he did is amazing! I am super happy and can't wait to go back! Highly recommend Mati!

Negative experience: I had a tattoo done by chronic ink late last year and some parts of it didn't take well. I contacted them for a touch up and was told I would need to pay nearly the same amount again for the works. When I questioned them, I was told that because a guest artist completed the works, and that the tattoo was on my wrist, they wouldn't touch it up free of charge. Hardly what you need when someone completes poor work on you. Not going to these guys again

Negative experience: pretty sad to have to give this review, as the shop itself seems fine. this is about a particular artist. Zo (@thewoodelf on instagram) is a total scammer. she is the most unprofessional tattoo artist i have ever met. she has no-showed twice and cancelled an appointment last minute, in each instance having lazy excuses such as being sick (i.e hungover) and double-booking herself. these were a result of her own actions and poor planning, yet she refused to refund the deposit after charging $500 because she works so slowly. deposits are supposed to protect the artist from the client’s lack of respect for time, but in this case, Zo was the least respectful and professional she could have possibly been. there is a reason she’s a “floating” artist and doesn’t have a dedicated shop. absolute con pseudo-artist. NEVER book with her.

Fantastic experience: Sophie was an amazing guest tattoo artist :) She took my kinda specific idea and turned it into something more beautiful than imagined. Very clean studio, variety of colours, & I had very little pain. Aftercare instructions were clear and healing has gone well. My first tattoo & a wonderful experience.

Positive experience: Visited twice because of guest artists. I am very happy they don’t play metal music because that itself will shoot my anxiety thru the roof especially with the pain. The only complaint for me is that when it’s summer the inside of the shop gets really warm…. Edit: Spoke too soon about the music lol

Fantastic experience: I had a full arm sleeve done by Dmitriy and I couldn't be happier. Not only Dima is an incredible artist, he cares so much about having the best result possible. He provides advice on how to design the tattoo from different perspectives such as composition, placement, tones and shading. His taste is excellent and the execution, just perfect. Overall, it was a great experience working with him, very fast and smooth process. If you want a realistic tattoo that you'll love for the rest of your life, go with him.

Fantastic experience: Studio was clean and staff was very friendly upon entering. The two times I went (first for the tattoo and second for the following retouch), it's always quite busy! It was my first time at this parlour (back in March) and I definitely would come back just for the general 'chill' ambience. Other tattoo artists around me were friendly and they had Lofi music playing in the background. I was in the upstairs level and they had a cute dog running around too. It felt like a place to just hangout compared to other studios I've been where I was either secluded in a seperate room and it was dead quiet, or where artists would ignore me completely, with an expression of nuisance. The guest artists at ChronicInk all seem super talented. I got my arm done with Uzotattoo when she was here and she was super sweet and patient. Always checking in periodically to see if I'm okay. Yes, the prices was higher than what I usually paid for in the past, but this was my first big coloured piece and I thought the quality was worth it. Hopefully she comes back to Vancouver sometime! The tattoo in question is inspired by anime character, Dabi. She helped me bring this custom design to life that also served as a scar coverup.

Fantastic experience: Recently got the first piece of my sleeve done with Dmitriy, by far the best tattoo artist I have seen. Will only ever be going to him from now on. 10/10!! He was extremely patient with helping me decide on my design, could not recommend more!

Negative experience: Got my first tattoo here about an year and an half ago, now with more experience getting tattooed I really wouldn’t recommend this place sadly unless ur okay with overpaying for what ur getting. Staff is nice, but an apprentice did my first tattoo and didn’t tell me until afterwards that they were an apprentice, then severely overcharged me for the tiny tattoo and kept me after hours as well.. every tattoo I’ve gotten after this elsewhere has been bigger, better quality, cheaper, and done faster. I feel ripped off to this day and plan to get the lil guy covered up. It’s faded immensely even with a touch up..and no it’s not an extremely fine line detailed tattoo, understandable to fade and take longer if it was, but it’s not. sad :/ nice shop.. not worth it

Fantastic experience: Relaxing and friendly staff welcoming you for your appt. Kyle was amazing. Listened to what I had, changes I wanted and provided critique to make a final decision on the design. Kyle's work was amazing and am very happy with the result. Kyle was laid back but focused. Knowing it was my first tattoo, Kyle provided all the next steps necessary. Def would go back. The group of artist sounded like they work and support each other which which was awesome to listen to as Kyle was working on me.

Fantastic experience: Dmitry Stankov awesome blank and grey work. Took his time and research to design right and left arm sleeve dedicated to family where I grey up. His concept flowed nicely into each design and meaning behind each concept was touching; 2 portraits of daughters , rose, script, family seed logo, horoscopes. Design for left sleeve was an East coast concept/ cover up. Once again his idea flowed seeming less into each concept: mountains, river, outline of Nova Scotia, a captain …… Easy to work with and highly recommend him as an artist. Well deserved

Fantastic experience: Had a session with Zada and he was the most accommodating and thoughtful artist. It was my first tattoo and he made sure to make me feel comfortable and confident about tattoo design and placement. The staff were wonderful and prompt with any questions I had.

Fantastic experience: I shopped around forever all over BC and Alberta trying to find an artist that wanted to work with me on creating a custom full sleeve tattoo. Most artists wanted me to choose images in their book or weren’t that communicative. A lot wanted me to live in the area as I am from the North part of BC. That is until I was matched with Dmitriy out of Chronic Ink Vancouver. Immediately we clicked and he worked countless hours working with me planning and designing a full sleeve tattoo. Every single time I went down to Vancouver was a complete pleasure working with him. He remained professional throughout the whole experience as it was 50.5 hours total for my tattoo. I could not recommend Dmitriy enough to anyone looking to have a fully custom tattoo that has the highest quality of work. The staff at Chronic Ink Vancouver was a pleasure to deal with as well as they were always friendly and welcoming into their shop. The facility remained very well maintained, clean, and professional. Whenever I get more tattoos I will definitely be going back because I am over the moon with how this one turned out.

This was my first tattoo and I was a bit worried that it would hurt, but Cherry was gentle and it almost didn't hurt at all :)
