We got a tattoo for my late Nan and they made the whole experience so welcoming. We are no strangers to tattoos but this was the best experience I've had. The cleanliness was very reassuring, showed us the clean needles and the expiry dates! I will definitely be coming back to get more! Negative experience: I got some intimate piercings done there when I was 18, about 5 years ago now. Can’t remember who did them, but I recently remembered the experience and thought to myself - that’s odd. I was told that I needed two people to do it at the same time, so they would be even. Of course being naive and agreeable, I consented. So, two married grown men, got to see my upper area fully exposed, so that the piercings would be “even.” Well they did not turn out even - I took them out a few days later. I never thought anything of it then because I was young and inexperienced, but only recently did it click in my brain that they totally gave me that excuse so they could BOTH see me - because hello they weren’t anything close to even. So my advice to young girls looking to get a certain service done here or ANYWHERE for that matter: have a woman do it and don’t consent to anything else. Leaving this comment now because I can and it was my experience. Not looking for any money just here to warn young women to be safe.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely love the atmosphere here. Everyone is so friendly. I got my first tattoo from Melissa and it's perfect. She was really nice, made sure her station was clean, and checked in every now and then to make sure I was comfortable. She answered all my questions, walked me through what she was doing, and was very patient with me. I've gotten multiple piercings from here too from a variety of people, everyone here is just fantastic.

Kyle, the MCT studio manager has assembled a staff who are a pleasure to work with. I have been told that my request for 2 coverups was, not possible at several shops in the States. Positive experience: I genuinely had a good experience getting my eyebrow pierced, the staff were all very kind and welcoming. My eyebrow piercing was pierced on an extreme angle which at the time I was not informed of the rejection risk, I did not know it was wrong until it started to reject. I went to another piercer elsewhere to get my other eyebrow pierced and she explained to me that it was already in the process of rejection due to the angle it was pierced on. I don’t want to talk negatively about the piercer who performed it as maybe they simply didn’t know but I eventually had to take that piercing out and my other eyebrow piercing has healed with no complications. Overall not a bad studio at all but do your own research before getting pierced because your artist may not know all the full risks of every piercings placement

Fantastic experience: So happy I found Motor city tattoos to get my 14 month olds daughter’s ears pierced! They are so professional, clean and make you feel so welcomed. Kyle who did my daughters ear piercing made sure myself and her were comfortable thought the whole process! Also the cleanliness of the process (all one time use things) and sterilization of everything was so appreciated as when having a baby sanitation and making sure they are safe is so important and motor city definitely achieved that and more. Fantastic experience: Amazing service; friendly and knowledgeable. Great set up, clean, clean, clean. Artists seemed to have great rapport and relationships with the clients. Listened to exactly what I wanted and did a phenomenal job. Sydney was an amazing piercer. She talked, made me feel comfortable, explained everything, was gentle. I’d recommend her to anyone without exception. Melissa was a great tattoo artist and again took her time to make sure I knew what was happening at every step even showing me expiration dates and when she was changing needles etc. I love my little cat/semicolon. I really enjoyed the experience with her. I didn’t have an appointment, I walked in and they fit me in. I had to wait a little however the shop is a pleasure to wait in. The staff all really seem to get along and enjoy each other and the environment. I didn’t hear any negative comments at all. A few came over to see what I was getting and all had great comments. The prices are really reasonable for the great work they do. I’m already thinking of booking my next appointment.

Fantastic experience: Everyone was very helpful when asking questions. The place smells and looks very clean . My friend and I went in for matching tattoos, Justin was very polite and friendly. He did a wonderful job on our matching tattoos with colour! Now this isn't my first time here either, a number of years back at their old location I acquired my rook piercing by Kyle. A friend went in to make a tattoo appointment, on a whim I decided on a rook piercing right there . Kyle was very nice and efficient. As for the piercing, I still have it, was never infected, and the only unusual part during the piercing process is when the bar had to remain in before the jewelry (an unusual pressure). Overall never had a bad experience.

Negative experience: I would not recommend this studio for piercings or artwork. I’ve had multiple piercings (3 helix, 1 nostril) done here that became infected and rejected entirely despite following proper aftercare instructions that were given to me by my piercer. The quality and safety of their piercing services seem questionable. On top of that, I was disappointed to learn that the studio uses AI-generated designs instead of original, hand-drawn work. This not only takes away from the skill and craft of professional tattoo artists, but it also undermines the livelihood of professionals in the industry. Additionally, the manager has been unprofessional online when addressing concerns about their use of AI, which only adds to the negative experience. If you care about safe, professional piercings and supporting genuine artists, I would look elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: Updated review: Motor City has a great idea of hosting piercing/ tattoo parties! During the party my friends and I did, there was roughly 11-13 of us but, Motor City welcomed as many as we wanted. Kyle was extremely professional and helpful setting up the event. He allowed us to be flexible with our timing of the event, hosting after hours. He was quick to respond and was always available to answer any questions myself or any others had. Kyle and Kait completed the piercings. They made everyone feel extremely welcome and those that were nervous calm. They assisted in mapping out piercings and planning future ones with the girls as well. They were patient marking the piercing and giving people the time they needed to decide if it was in the correct spot. I have personally been pierced by both of them and have nothing but good things to say! Justin completed the tattoos. He did my first tattoo ever for me this night and walked me through the steps and really ensured I felt comfortable. I absolutely LOVE my tattoo and it healed beautifully! I get compliments on the shading all the time. He also drew up a tattoo that night too for one person that decided they wanted one there! Everyone had a great time and were all talking about the next piercing party. I would highly recommend to those that want to have a fun night and maybe need a little encouragement to get that piercing they’ve been wanting with friends! Inital Review: Kyle was professional and made the overall experience fun and welcoming. He completed a beautiful stacked lobe on my ears! I have also been pierced by Kait who was also fantastic and overall extremely welcoming as well. Kait did an amazing job on my flat helix and tragus! The entire staff at Motor City are lovely! The facility is very clean and I felt extremely comfortable receiving a piercing. I would highly recommend them as piercers and will be back for more in future!

Fantastic experience: I got my vertical label done by Kyle and I’m in love with it. The shop is really clean and open, all the staff are very friendly and very helpful! I went back in to get a longer bar a couple days later, I had Kyle again and he was super nice about everything. I’ve already recommended the shop to people I know in the Oshawa area. Negative experience: Highly disappointed! I’ve been a regular customer for years now and I expected more from the people who work here! I came here with my mom and sister and lady at desk knew no information. I asked about prices of different piercings, she had to go in the back to ask someone else three times. Then Sydney finally came out after the third time. I asked the girl at the desk if she could pull my previous files that I sign every time I go there before getting pierced to see what I have had done in the past and see I’m a regular customer and she just stood there with no response. Some customer etiquette is needed! They then after told my mom that my sister had to be ID as she didn’t look related to her. Absolutely rude and very disappointed as this was my go-to place. Will never be back here!

Fantastic experience: This morning our daughter (9yo) and niece (6yo) got their ears pierced at Motor City. We were very impressed with how the staff explained the process through each step and asked permission from the girls before proceeding. We would highly recommend anyone to get their piercings here. Negative experience: Had my daughter’s ear piercing done here initially and had a good experience, everything went well. I don't usually write negative reviews, however today was disappointing. I called ahead to book to have my daughter’s jewelry changed because the earrings are screwbacks and I have difficulty doing it myself. they scheduled me in for 2:30. When I showed up they said that the person who was supposed to change the jewelry already left. They did not bother to call me ahead of time to let me know that he left and instead told my husband to change the jewelry himself in the back room with no gloves (unsanitary) and no help at all and this is also for an infant which makes it much more difficult to do alone. My husband managed to get one earring screwed on but the second ear we had no luck and is still not in and will most likely close up as it’s still a fairly new piercing. The service was good the first time but after today, and the way everything was dealt with was very disappointing and I won’t return because of that.

Fantastic experience: We went to Motor City today to get my daughter’s ears pierced. Kyle helped us out and was amazing. Understandable why he has great reviews. Everything was clean, and well explained. Kyle walked us through each step and we made it out of there with a couple of tears. Negative experience: Would not recommend for piercings unless they’ve changed how they operate. Getting a piercing can be pretty nerve wracking and the main piercer clearly did not want to be there and wasn't very friendly, which made me extremely uncomfortable and nervous. I had problems with healing & piercing bumps so I came back a few times for help and they just tried to sell me products that didn’t help. I asked if the ring they put in was titanium and they said it was. I struggled with piercing bumps and irritation flare-ups for a solid 2 years. Recently went to another place as a last ditch effort to get a titanium piercing put in because I didn’t trust that the one I had was titanium, and I was right. Within days the bumps have shrunk immensely and the piercing is no longer irritated and itchy. Pretty upset that I spent so long waiting and hoping for the piercing to heal because of the misinformation they gave me.

Fantastic experience: I read some reviews before going and saw some from yrs ago that were not great, but have a few friends that had work done there and it was a positive experience for them. Now all I can say is WOW! Sister and I had been planning to get tattooed together, zodiac-inspired and she happened to come through town so off we went, hoping to find a place that could take us. We both have multiple tats and had laser removal on one, so we're not first-timers). We walked in and they were able to take us right away! Everyone was so friendly, helpful and thoroughly explained the process and aftercare. Great dialogue between us, the artists and staff. Super clean, sterile (all sealed needles, etc) and really comfortable stations. Nice seating area for folks who are waiting and it was surprisingly busy for a Tuesday afternoon. Saw an Mom and daughter get piercings (nose and upper lobe) and they were so happy and excited (oh, and an awesome mix of tunes!). Luis did mine and I absolutely love it (got a bit teary when I saw it finished as it was even more beautiful than I'd imagined). My sister's was a bit less detailed and a single colour and her apprentice was great! She loves hers, too and was so pleased that while she was there she ended getting a tweak done to another tattoo she has. Results were such a big improvement. So overall, we both had a really great experience at MCT. I know some ppl are never satisfied and have expectations nobody can meet. Like, NO, the customer is not always right, either, so if they genuinely earned the negative reviews in the past, they've made some major changes and turned it around! I'd recommend!

Fantastic experience: I went to Motor City yesterday to get one of Colby’s flash sheet tattoos, and as always I was extremely impressed! I’ve been going to Motor City for 3 years now and they never cease to amaze me. Colby was very friendly and his set up was super professional and sanitary! He was super efficient and made sure the tattoo I got was perfect! I highly recommend booking Colby for your next tattoo!

Fantastic experience: Best place around ! Got my helix done by kait, she was amazing! The environment was great all staff were friendly and very welcoming! The piercing itself was done very well and there was plenty of great options of jewelry and style placements. I have been to other places and I always feel they rush into a placement that might be crooked, or not to your liking, with kait she took her time and insured the placement was perfect and to my liking which made me feel super confident and less nervous! I defiantly recommend motor city! I will be coming back for sure !

Fantastic experience: I have brought my daughter for piercings here a few times now and have always had excellent service. I brought my son in today to get his lobe pierced. Fantastic experience: Took my 2 1/2 year old to get her ears pierced by Kyle and the entire experience was wonderful. Took us into a private room to pierce her ears, he explained everything he was doing and was super quick and gentle with the entire process - so much so my daughter fussed for less then a two seconds when he did her second ear. He used a needle to pierce and everything was super clean and sterile. Will definitely be visiting again with my other daughter if/when she wants to get hers done and will be recommending him to all my friends who are looking to get their kids ears done. Thank you!

Negative experience: Booked an appointment for my 15year old daughter WHO I BIRTHED came in with all government issued ID but becuase we have different last names they gave a huge fuss and belittled us asking where her father is. Horrible horrible service.

Fantastic experience: I came here a few days ago to get my 5 month old daughter’s ears pierced. I checked their website and noticed they do ear piercing for 4 months+ and specialize in it! I booked right away, my wife and I wanted to avoid Claire’s or any place that used a piercing gun. Once we got there all the staff was super kind. We had the pleasure of working with Kyle. He was super professional and got the job done in less than a couple minutes. They take you to a separate room for privacy. He even let us stay in the room for as long as we needed afterwards and met us at the front to go over the piercing after care. The whole time he was working he was explaining what he was doing and making sure we knew. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting piercings, especially babies. It was a great experience. Fantastic experience: MotorCity’s staff are phenomenal and professional. The place is very clean and welcoming. I’ve done all my piercings here, majority of my tattoos and 1 session of laser removal. I will definitely be coming back to MotorCity for more!!! 10/10 would highly recommend!!

Fantastic experience: Great service as always! I've had 1 tattoo done by an artist at Motor City, and it was time for another. My daughter wanted her first, so we did mother daughter tattoos. Paige and Sam were great to work with and were very patient with the last-minute changes and my daughter's anxiousness. We both love our tattoos and have had many compliments. I would recommend either one of these artists and would definitely book with them again

Highly recommend motorcity tattoo studio. I would give them 10 stars.

Fantastic experience: I haven't gotten a tattoo in over 20 years and Paige did a great job. Explain everything very well and made sure the sizing and placement was what I wanted. My only problem now is that I want another one.

Fantastic experience: This experience was really Syd was my piercer, and they were really amazing at calming me down and making me feel very comfortable. We had good conversation and I did not even get scared. The vibes of the establishment we’re very on point it seemed very clean and sterile they gave me a lot of good advice on how to take care of my piercing, and and did better placement than my last piercing at another establishment I would 100% recommend this to anybody who is looking to get a nose piercing or anything else.

Negative experience: I’m not one to write negative reviews ever, but people need to be aware . Booked an appointment with MotorCity tattoos in Oshawa to have eyebrow tattoo removal. Worst experience I ever had. Equipment was very old and kept cutting out. I was in fear that I was going to be electrocuted. Technician didn’t have much experience, she had to restart the machine at least 4 times making excuses as to why the machine was cutting out.( Or It might be because the equipment is from the 1950’s.) Charged me an exorbitant amount of $366.00, wasn’t provided with any aftercare instructions or any type of ointment to heal my skin. I was told that I would only need 1 to 2 sessions but after speaking with a technician at another Spa, I still require another 2 to 3 more sessions which will only cost $100- $150 per session compered to $366.00 I was charged for one session . Save yourself the time, the money and go to a real professional.

Fantastic experience: I was very nervous getting my ears pierced, but Sid went through everything with me and made me feel so much better. I am so happy with my piercings and will definitely be going back!

Fantastic experience: I got my daughter’s ears pierced with Kyle and he did an amazing job with her. He was very kind and explained everything he was going to do. The whole experience went better than what I expected! My daughter was only 5 months old and it healed perfect! I then ended up getting some piercings done myself with Kyle around Christmas and again was very happy! Thank you!

Fantastic experience: My mum and I got our lobes pierced by Sydney a couple of weeks ago, overall it was such an awesome experience. She was very kind and patient with my mum, which meant a lot to me personally. Doesn't hurt that the piercings turned out great and that they are healing wonderfully. We'll definitely be back in the future.

Sam was patient, great with communication and her tattoo done on me I couldn’t be happier with. I can tell Sam puts a lot of pride and care into her work and it shows!
