Fantastic experience: Willy made my dream tattoo a reality! The atmosphere in the studio is unreal and all the artists make you feel welcome. I could not be more happy with my tattoo. I would 100% recommend getting a tattoo from any of the artists at Velvet alley. You will leave with amazing art work and and belly full of laughs because they are hilarious in there

Fantastic experience: Been coming to velvet alley for about 4 months, it’s always a great experience. First visited to get an unfinished tattoo (by another studio) completed. Willy not only finished it, she added her style and brought it to life!! Her work is incredible! I’ve had 6 tattoos done by the very talented Snips. She does such fun designs and has done 3 custom pieces for me. Snips is amazing (technically an apprentice, but I don’t think for long). About to start a full sleeve with Quinn in a couple of weeks. Highly recommend!!

The vibe and atmosphere is everything you want/need when getting a tattoo, everything is so clean, every artist is so welcoming and friendly! Quinn is one of the most talented tattoo artists I’ve meet! All girls have different styles, also they’re very helpful in finding the best artist for what you want!!

Fantastic experience: My second time back and now I won’t go anywhere else. A joy to spend the day with all the artists. The vibes are always fun, laidback but also a safe space. Hygiene is impeccable. Glove changes, sanitising, washing and wrapping of tattoos. Every artist makes hygiene the priority it should be at every establishment. Quinn is an absolute master at her craft. Special shout to George who I watched do a first tattoo on someone. They were so kind and understanding. And talked them through the whole process, how I would have liked my first tattoo to go. Another shout out to Willie who was doing a neck tattoo on another client while I sat. She showed so much empathy and reassurance to her client. I love the whole experience at Velvet Alley. I’ll be back again soon for sure!

Fantastic experience: I don’t think I could have picked a better studio to get a tattoo done here in Ballarat. It has been an absolute pleasure dealing with Quinn, first over email to nut out going over an old, lasered tattoo on my wrist, with the outcome being a beautifully bright, realistic-looking sunflower that will bring me joy for many years to come. Not only did I get some amazing ink at Velvet Alley, but I was also very taken with their new studio on Sturt Street. It’s in a perfect location, but walking up the stairs and into this very cool studio felt like I could close the door on the busyness of the world and just enjoy getting some ink done. The girls look after you, make sure you’re comfortable, and they love a good laugh! I look forward to going there again, and I highly recommend Velvet Alley to anyone seeking quality and care for their next tattoo.

Towards the end i was about ready to tap out and she told me it was just about finished and that I should sit through the extra five or so minutes and im so glad i did! Her and everyone else in the store were such a vibe and I'll definitely be coming back!

Negative experience: I had a tattoo done in december by loz I had to go get a touch up as it had failed in less then a month and I left and my arm was bruised for a few days with how deep the touch up was. Five months later it faded even more and looks like a tattoo I got done years ago. I wouldn’t recommend loz but I’ve seen Willy and her tattoos are great but be careful with your artist

Alll the artists were having a laugh together and chatting to each other’s clients while tattooing, I got a small flash piece done by the apprentice Loz who killed it! Best apprentices hands down he and the other apprentice Jess both do incredible work! Could not be happier with the experience I have had at velvet alley and I will definitely be returning to them again!

Fantastic experience: I LOVE everyone at this studio! All of the work that the artists do is phenomenal and I have never seen such good work come from apprentices like Loz and Jess either. This studio makes me feel so welcomed. I originally started off with a foot tattoo, that is now an entire leg sleeve by Willy. I will always recommend this studio to anyone and everyone: it's such a warm, welcoming and friendly place to be. Everyone ensures you are happy with your designs and makes you feel right at home

Negative experience: Very disappointed My artist was meant to be Loz, the tattto was meant to be a birthday present from my nana, after I had to ask to see my design loz sent me a picture and it was absolutely nothing like the reference photo I sent and nothing like I asked for! She added things to the tattoo design that I did not ask for and when I asked her to change the design she said she would try to change it. I have asked her twice before my appointment to see the design and now she won’t reply to me and I’ve lost the $100 deposit I am very disappointed with my experience with loz and will not be letting her touch me! I feel I should be refunded at least half of my money.
