My last tattoo I got with this company included a memorial piece for my late father. They were so sympathic, they made it so special to include his writing in my tattoo design as well as having his music playing in the background when I was getting my tattoo done. Nish was absolutely lovely to deal with and an extremely talented black and grey artist. I highly recommend you take a look at Nish’s work, and consider Wolf and Wren for your next tattoo.

Negative experience: Wolf and Wren was an awful experience. I booked in with one of the artists for a fairly small fine line tattoo and was quoted $500. I thought this was a bit steep, given the tattoo's small size and the rates I had paid for previous similarly-sized tattoos, but liked the artist's work so paid the deposit. The day of the tattoo she was almost an hour late despite her saying it was her only appointment that day; she was unprofessional and did not follow standard hygiene practices; and I was left with a tattoo that was significantly wonky, and noticeably different from (and inferior to) what had been agreed upon/paid for (totally different shading and line work, because she made an error). I went back to her once it had healed and she had absolutely no viable suggestions for fixing it. After some thought, I requested a part refund from the shop so I could get it fixed elsewhere. Will on the front desk is lovely to deal with and said they would be happy to do a part refund because the work was not up to scratch. However, four months have passed, I have contacted Wolf and Wren several times inquiring about the refund and have been strung along the whole time. It seems like they are hoping I will just forget. If you aren't going to do a part refund, that's fine, but don't say that you will. Would not recommend to anybody, there are lots of studios much more professional and competent.

Negative experience: Wanted to get a matching tattoo with my best friend while she was in town and my first tattooist canceled. Spoke to Will through messenger and was so happy to have booked an appointment so close to the dates my friend would be here. It was only a small tattoo and he told me Matt was the person for the job. Who seemed to be quite experienced by looking through his work on instagram and then meeting him in person. He quoted for each tattoo to take 1.5 hours which would cost $300 each. Everything was all good until it came to pay. Both tattoos ended up taking half the time (1.5hours for both) but we were still expected to pay the full amount for 3hrs? I feel so ripped off and taken advantage of being so young. So I’m supposed to pay extra because the tattoo artist who is supposed to be quite experienced doesn’t know how to quote properly? Would not recommend this tattooing business to anybody!

Fantastic experience: Emilie is a talented tattoo artist. She is a perfectionist and pays a lot of attention to detail. These are the second and third tattoos she has done for me, and I love them. The studio is friendly and upbeat .

Negative experience: My experience with Wolf & Wren has been awful. I sent through my ideas for a large chest piece through messenger and was told to book in with Aykan for a consult. I came to the consult, and Aykan was very pushy to book me into a tattoo while only promising to send a design through for approval two days prior to the tattoo appointment. After some back and forth, he agreed for a deposit to be put down for a design first. I feel like we spoke at length on what I wanted, but when the design came through 2 weeks later, it looked like something he'd thrown together in about 15 minutes with no ideas from the original photos and requests I had made. I emailed him back immediately and was ghosted for 2 weeks before I contacted the shop directly. I had to contact the shop twice over 4 days before Aykan finally acknowledged and emailed me back, and his response wasn't apologetic at all for not getting back to me, but throwing excuses as to why he couldn't spend 5 seconds to acknowledge my concerns with the piece he had drawn up. He then asked for further pictures of what I wanted (which I had already provided) and more detail (which I thought we had covered in our 45 minute consult in the shop). I contacted the shop a few weeks later after considering weather I wanted to be tattoo'd by them/Aykan and asked for my deposit back considering everything that had transpired only to be left on read. I wouldn't recommend this shop.

My artist Nish did such a beautiful job, i really felt she wanted it to be special for me, she's so lovely and talented! The studio is bright and full of personality and my tattoo artist Sophia brought an amazing attitude that immediately puts people at ease. She was an absolute legend and made a beautiful custom piece that went beyond what I expected.

Negative experience: The tattooist didn't care one bit about the tattoo I was getting. It was literally just in and out, completely transaction. The tattoo itself wasn't the best, either (lines weren't clean). Quite disappointed.

Negative experience: Staff are friendly enough but super piss poor service. Started off with an appointment booking, after speaking with the artist, for me to see the art. Arrived 15 minutes prior to booking time to find the shop entirely locked up and after trying to contact them via Facebook, messenger, and their landline with no success I left to head back home. A couple days later I received an apology message explaining that the artists sometimes get into their work so much they are unaware of their surroundings. (Absolutely sound and fair enough, bar the fact the store was locked up as well as the barrier put up behind the main front door and all lights being off) They offered a discount, which I’m still certain was never given but oh well. I booked in with the artist because I was super keen on her draw up and the $100 discount that was offered. Got the work done, the artist was super friendly and loved her work mostly. At the end of the session was told to rebook for 6 weeks or later for touch ups and when I asked if I should book now for 6 weeks in advance I was told no and to book closer to the 6 weeks after getting tattooed. It was coming up to Christmas and the artist had stated she was going away before Christmas. I got to 5 weeks and tried to book in before she left for the Christmas break. No response. I tried contacting both the artist and the shop directly. I then spoke to the shop and told them to speak to the artist and book me in at her first available appointment after the Christmas break. It’s now February and I am still waiting to hear back from them. Again, friendly staff, just piss poor management and lack of customer service.

Fantastic experience: Saw Aykon a few weeks ago. He did an amazing job, really happily with how the piece turned out and it healed really quickly too.

Fantastic experience: Great tattoo studio. Welcoming and polite front of house, which was really nice. Professional tattooists. Whilst I only had a small tattoo, it was well done and exactly what I wanted. Would recommend and go again.

Positive experience: Izzy the admin is an excellent communicator and even offered me chuppa chups. What parlour even does that. Ayken took my vision and built upon it. I love it.

Beautiful clean lines. I was really impressed with how clean and welcoming the studio is, I love all the art Matt has up on the walls! I also want to highlight how fantastic the woman at the front desk is - I think Carly is her name? She was incredibly welcoming, kind, and patient, and really made me feel very confident and comfortable, especially with my first tattoo while I was quite nervous. Incredibly happy with Wolf & Wren, I'll very happily come back here for more beautifully done tattoos.

Fantastic experience: Renee did an amazing job! She helped create the exact piece I was looking for. As my first coloured ink tattoo I was a bit nervous but couldn't be happier with the outcome. I was asked throughout the session if I was happy with it or if I wanted to add to it and if the pain was tolerable. The atmosphere was lovely too! Will definitely be going back in the future.

Fantastic experience: Honestly the quality of artists here is incredible. The vibe and inclusivity of the environment makes the tattoo experience pleasant where it could so easily be nothing but painful and uncomfortable. It's good to have independently run tattoo shops (or collectives?) In Adelaide, and it's not exaggeration to say they have been one of the biggest contributors to the amazing tattoo culture we have in Adelaide. Follow them on Instagram for some visual pleasure in your feed and definitely head here if you're not sure where to go for your first tattoo. They have artists who cover every style and they're all friendly and lovely. I've been coming here for 5 years and attempting to get tatts from every artist they get in but I've found it hard to move on from the people that I've had the pleasure of being tattoed by before, simply because they've been awesome to talk to and hand out with. Send them a message if you're not sure who to see and they'll point you in the right direction and make sure you have a good tattoo experience every time. Thanks guys for the good times so far! I'll be coming back in for years to come and I'm not sure if it's because I'm addicted to body art, or if I just want to come in and talk with the beautiful people you have in there, either way, you're doing a good job.

Fantastic experience: I got my first tattoo done here yesterday and it was such a good experience. I had a consult with Josh about a month ago and he was super friendly and happy to help me come up with a design based on the ideas I had. The tattooing experience was also really good. Josh talked me through the process, made suggestions for placement but never push anything on me, I felt as if I was in control with his guidance. Everything was very clean and sterile which made me feel even safer. Josh reinforced that if I ever felt dizzy or that it was too much to just let him know. I was comfortable and felt safe and ended up with a really amazing tattoo. Afterwards he also ran through aftercare with me and answered all the questions I had about taking care of it. All the staff were really friendly as well, overall it was just a really good experience. The staff really do care about you having your dream tattoo with the least hassle.

Negative experience: Unfortunately I had quite a negative experience at Wolf and Wren. A few months ago I saw a new artist had joined W&W and checked out her work on social media. I booked a consult and told her what I wanted and showed her a reference piece of her own via her Instagram account. At this point I regret moving forward, as I sensed some hesitation in her voice. However, I went ahead and paid a deposit and booked for what I was told would be a 3-3.5hr session. My tattoo appointment lasted about 2.5 hrs. And of course, a fresh tattoo looks pretty good...and I WAS happy, but then once it healed, many inconsistent lines presented themselves along with some minor blowouts (but several of them). I contacted the shop and attached some images showing the areas of concern. I was encouraged to book in to see her for a touch-up. I ended up cancelling the appointment as I was not at all confident it could be 'fixed'. I just had a gut feeling it was not a good idea - and that it would be terribly awkward. I again, was told that I could see another tattooist there, but the person they suggested, I wasn't a fan of the work. I ended up seeing another tattooist elsewhere who had to redo the entire tattoo in order to 'fix' the blowouts and the many areas of inconsistent line work. I feel the artist's work is good - but what I had requested was not an area of strength and I wish that would have been communicated with honesty at the consult. It was a disappointing experience especially after reading so many amazing reviews. I do acknowledge that the shop offered to touch-up my tattoo free of charge and wanted to keep me happy. but in the end this shop was not the best choice for me.

Negative experience: Good clean atmosphere. Friendly front of house staff - Michael is obviously very passionate about his job which is a nice way to be greeted. I was originally told that consults couldn't be booked so walked in for a consult only to be told I had to book in and come back. Came back a week later and was recommended working with Heath. Had a chat with him about getting a ships wheel, something really important to me. I showed some designs I had been thinking about and was told that in order to get a drawing I would need to book a time in for a tattoo and pay a non-refundable deposit of $100. I felt quite positive about this all as Heath told me he would set aside an hour to discuss designs and make sure it was exactly what I wanted. I came back on my booking with my 2 best friends very excited to get a ships wheel done, having thought about my designs over the week and a half. Heath showed me his design which was beautiful, but not close to what I had wanted. The only thing he was able to change was the size of the wheel. I kept stating different parts of the design that I would like altered, but he kept coming back to barriers to these changes - having never had a tattoo a lot of this was new to me, yet he wasn't able to offer different options for anything. Thinking about the design for a while I decided to change the location I had originally wanted (from my wrist to my lower calf). I felt happy with this decision but when I got the stencil on it was still not I wanted. I came back to Heath with this and he became quite short with me and basically didn't make me feel at all okay with my decision to not get something tattooed on me that I wasn't 100% happy with. I walked away in tears, disappointed that I was left feeling that way and without the design I was so excited to have, but overall relieved that I was strong enough to walk away. So overall I was very disappointed with my experience with wolf and wren. I know they have beautiful designs and love a lot of the work Heath has done with others, but just felt he wasn't willing to work with me to get the design I wanted.

Fantastic experience: The team here are so chill and friendly, they really eliminate the off-putting vibe of a lot of tattoo shops where entering can feel quite confronting. Brilliant artists are passionate about what they do and dedicated to get it right. Well worth the time and money to have something done properly.
