While researching somewhere to get my sleeve there were a lot of considerations; the quality of artistic work on large scale durational pieces, personality and approach to creativity (i was going to be with someone for a long time!), the appearance/cleanliness of the studio (pride in workplace), and as-importantly, the vibe and the professionalism overall...Meiji smashed it out of the park for me, and It's the best decision I've made! I'm 9 sessions into a major project, and I can't wait to share the finished piece with the world! It's art to me, and I'm so pleased with the collaboration. Can't recommend Meiji highly enough to anyone who cares about their tattoo journey. He was happy to make any changes to the sketches he came up with and discuss colour ways and other finishing touches. The process was easy and comfortable and I cannot recommend his services enough. The detail and quality of his tattoos is why he’s booked out 6 months in advance, and is definitely worth the wait. The tattoo studio itself is clean, bright and has a good vibe.

I originally booked in for a simple script piece, but after chatting with Leni, it quickly became clear that she could not only design my dream tattoos but also get them done the same day! Fantastic experience: I went to Meiji Tattoo last Friday for a day-long session with artist Camilo Camargo and can't recommend either the studio or the artist enough. The studio was extremely professional and well maintained, the staff were extremely friendly and easy to talk too and it was easy to get comfortable during such a long session. Honestly, for anime/manga/realism/colour style tattooing [tattooing in general], I can't recommend Meiji or their artists enough. Fantastic studio and people. Hugely grateful to Camilo for bringing my favourite tattoo to life, an insanely talented artist. Will definitely be going back.

It has good music playing at the right volume to zone into while getting your tattoo without hearing the guns too much. Fantastic experience: I was so overwhelmed at how clean, organised, will presented not only the shop, the staff, but the whole area from front to back. I have never set foot in a shop in Adelaide nor a doctor's office nor a hospital nor an Eatery as clean or as well organised as this. Beth, my tattooist, was magnificent in capturing the quirky nature of my tattoo exactly as I had drafted it on a piece of paper. Not only that! I've never had a tattoo before where it was completely painless to the point that when Beth asked me to have a look I was a little bit confused that we were finished. I could not be happier! Would I go back? Interestingly I hadn't planned on getting another tattoo but now I am. I will be requesting Beth and I can't wait to see the next one! If you are after something with high detail and very fine lines, Beth is your woman for sure!! This is my second post now. Beth delivered again!!! I'm so grateful for the care that Beth took to make sure that my little dragonfly was as delicate as possible - the detail in Beth's art is MIND BLOWING!! The only thing I didn't love so much was that I kept jumping around because the placement on my ankle was right where the nerves are close to the surface and the sensation vacillated between tickle and painful. Again, bearing in mind that I was jumping around all over the table Beth remained on Point and it didn't affect the outcome of my tattoo at all. When friends ask me if it was what I wanted I tell them no, it's BETTER than what I head hoped for.

Jade Started my sleeve yesterday and blended it with the existing work from another artist from some years ago. She was hugely supportive and understanding of what I wanted and worked with me to achieve an amazing result from the day of consult to final design and application. She was lots of fun to work with and made the session as comfortable as possible. Im booked in for another session to add the colour and bring it to life. Looking forward to more pain in a few weeks time!

Negative experience: I booked a tattoo consultation with one of their artists through their website to discuss a cover up of a large tattoo on my back. I had a sit down chat with the artist, showed him the tattoo, showed him some ideas of how I wished to cover it and he said he could do it but I would first need to lighten the tattoo with laser removal. He referred to me to their in-house laser removalist and I underwent three sessions of laser removal. After the last session I was advised to email a photo of the tattoo to be covered to them and they would advise me whether it was ready to be covered or needed another laser session. However when I sent them the photo, and I was told it was forwarded to the artist I had a consultation with, I received a standardised response advising me they were fully booked at the time and I would be advised when future bookings were available. I received no feedback on the laser work I had undertaken, no reference to the original consultation I had been to, and after emailing them again to ask advice, received no further communication. I understand artists are extremely busy but after already having a consultation and undertaking three laser sessions at their advice I would of expected to receive some feedback, not to be treated like a new client and then ignored. This has taken months and months of my time when I could of been arranging work with an alternative artist.

Fantastic experience: Nico is very skilled at his craft, the fine calligraphy work is faultless. He genuinely worked with me to produce exactly what I wanted. The atmosphere at Meiji is calm and productive. I can’t recommend Nico or Meiji highly enough.
