Expérience fantastique: Great place overall! I have had piercing replacements by the piercer there and she is incredibly kind and helpful. I look forward to getting pierced by her! I've been tattooed by Mario twice and he is absolutely fantastic. His skill is phenomenal and his execution of the designs to the skin is 10/10. I got a gumball tattoo from him first which I love and now a memorial tattoo for my rabbit. He doesn't just people please-he will tell you what works and what doesn't work which I appreciate. Would highly recommend this studio whether it be for piercings or tattoos!

Super accommodating, my sister and I got there with an hour left to closing and she was able to take us both. As walk ins! They also take EMT, which was very convenient. If I think of getting another piercing I’m definitely going there again.

Expérience fantastique: Terri was so great! She even made a house call to put my jewelry back in after it was removed for a surgery. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and super accommodating. I went to the shop on Thursday to get my nose piercing swapped out due to a surgery I had on Friday. Terri shortened the plastic insert so it wasn't bothering me, and told me she could come to me on the Monday if I wasn't able to get around post-op. I contacted her and she brought all her supplies to my home today since I'm still recovering and not able to get out of the house. She had recommended minimizing how long the plastic piece was in as there are concerns with it binding to the skin. I am super appreciative she did a house call for me! It was super quick and easy, and so so helpful. Thanks Terri!

Expérience fantastique: I got pierced at the end of August by Terri. She was very professional. I got a nose and conch piercing. Terri answered all my questions and eased my nerves. My piercings are healing really well so far. I followed her after care instructions. Which were straightforward. All jewellery she used was opened right in front of me. Her work area as well as the entire studio in general was very clean and I do like the general vibe of the establishment. I highly recommend Terri and would go to her again.

I had been experiencing debilitating migraines so often that it put a strain on my every day activities so I figured I’d give the daith piercing a chance as nothing else seemed to help. They got me an appointment in record time, and my piercer Terri was a gem. She made sure I knew what was going on the entire time and is so easy to talk to that she almost made me forget I was being pierced. It helped immediately. I have only had one migraine since getting it and it has significantly helped. I feel like I can exist without constant fear of headaches and i couldn’t be more happy with it. I was sceptical but I am beyond grateful I did it and very grateful to Terri for making the experience so easy. Absolutely recommend going here for piercings. The staff is kind and so accommodating, and the environment is wonderful!

Expérience fantastique: The staff at South of Heaven Tattoos, accommodated my request for a quick tattoo but I was fairly specific in what I wanted. The design I sent them that I had in mind wasn’t going to work for what I had in mind. Undeterred, Mario worked with me to come up with a design that was functional for the coverup and still was within the parameters of what I ultimately wanted. Mario went above and beyond, completely exceeding my expectation. With his own artistic spin and talent, he brought my idea to life and gave it a life of its own, while working with my surrounding tattoos to highlight certain aspects of previous tattoos. He was lighter to the touch than some of the heavy-handed tattoo artists I’ve had previously and, holy cow! He’s fast! I feel like I got more bang for my buck with Mario, but looking at the work of the other artists there, I’m sure you’ll find, something for every taste. Highly recommend!

Expérience fantastique: Love the service but not impressed by the way they book and keep appts. I showed up without an appt and expected to wait a bit on Sunday but not 30 minutes to buy earrings. They said to me that appts take priority so next time I went there I booked an appt for a piercing and showed up early... she was with a client for 30 minutes. When I saw her I explained that I had an appt, and the girl before me didn't according to her. She thought the girl before me had my appt but if she looked at my name it would be obvious that she didn't have the right person... I have a very french name and the girl before me was of another nationality. Again I love the service once received but I never know how long I'll be waiting for it.

I ended up crying. After reading some of the reviews afterwards, I am even more horrified. I will not be returning.

Expérience fantastique: I spontaneously decided to get my daith done yestday on the way to work. I suffer from chronic cluster migraines and have for over 35 years so this piercing was medicinal for me. Once the needle went through my headache was gone. Obviously I thought the concentrated poke pain was why my head stopped hurting. Today I woke up today pain free and it's been at least 3 years that I've had a constant headache. So if you suffer from migraines of chronic head pain and have tried every med under the sun, this peircing is for you ! Terri is always so professional and great with piercings this time she was even sweeter if thats possible ☆☆☆☆☆ she can poke me again anytime lol

(Exciting, i know) important information: i am scared of needles and was really worried about the tattoo hurting while it was being done Having looked online, reddit (along other review places) stated South of Heaven was gonna be the best bet. I looked and fell in love with Lauras work(Artmisa Ink). She got in to see me the same day for a consultation (she followed my own design!) and scheduled me in to have a tattoo within 5 days. Guys, I cannot recommend her highly enough. 5 stars doesn't do it justice. The room was very clean and sterile, and I dont know how she did it, but all I felt during the session was a slightly pulling sensation while doing the thick lines. She was clear about the process and gave great information about what to do for aftercare. An absolutely amazing experience all around. Definitely contact this shop (and see Laura if you can)!!

Expérience négative: I had the worst experience possible at this place getting piercings done. I would never ever recommend this place to anyone ever !! I actually sent the shop a message requesting for a manager or owner to call me back, to discuss further and I got nothing at all back , which in itself is frustrating. Last weekend I went in to get two existing piercings jewellery changed and a new mid helix. We also decided to put jewelry in my closed belly button. Over the past week, I have had issues with 3/4 piercings this lady has touched. The belly button which she pretty much re pierced I took out the next morning because of the pain. It hurt to do anything including walk ! Then my tragus which the jewelry she switched out started to hurt and swell like crazy yesterday. It was an existing piercing of 8 years and I’ve never had any issue with it until this woman touched it. I called the shop needing help and didn’t even get an apology she just said well my jewellery isn’t poor quality so it can’t be that and it’s not my technique etc. all she offered was for me to come back and for her to put a bigger bar in. I wouldn’t ever want to go back ever ! I spent $200 on all of these things and it’s caused nothing but problems. I went to iron lotus spoke to a lovely lady who took out my tragus. I was in tears as she was struggling to take this out. She was horrified to hear of my experience bc she thought this was a good place to go . She look and said the post that was chosen by the piercer was way too short. So this was clearly an error on her part which I knew it was. She also said if I left it another day or two it would have swelled over the jewellery completely. I was too scared to put a bigger bar in after what happened so now my favorite piercing of 8 yrs is going to end up closing because of this situation. And not to mention I had to pay someone else to correct the issue this lady created, after I already wasted $200.

Expérience négative: My friend recently got a nose piercing done by Terri. She told her to simply rinse her piercing with water when she showers. She told her she didn’t need to use a saline solution or anything and 3 or 4 weeks later, her nose was super irritated and wouldn’t stop bleeding. We called South of Heaven and Terri answered the phone laughing which we found very unprofessional. We told her the issue and she sounded very annoyed. We went to a different piercing place and the piercer there told her that the piercing was too small and changed it for her and explained how to properly clean her piercing. If you’re thinking of getting a piercing, please make sure to take care of it and to stay properly educated.

All in all wonderful experience. They only minor issue was we had made appointments and weren’t taken until 20 minutes after the appointment time because of walk ins. We made appointments to avoid that as we had other engagements that day. Seemed almost pointless to make an appointment just to be glossed over. However- still a great experience and will more than likely be back in the future.

Expérience fantastique: People always suggested I get a Daith piercing as I have suffered from migraines since I was 12 years old. Terri provided excellent advice & patiently answered all my questions. I was having 2-3 migraines weekly until I got my Daith piercing & now I rarely have any migraines. It may not work for everyone but it was well worth trying and I highly recommend you get one if you suffer from migraines. I went back to get a Tragus piercing from Terri and as always she was professional, friendly & efficient. This is where I go when I’m looking for new earrings & definitely will see Terri if or when I get another piercing.

Expérience négative: My initial review for South of Heaven was a positive experience, due to the queer- and trans-friendly staff that worked at the business. I felt safe and respected by the tattoo and piercing staff during my repeated sessions, and had multiple tattoos, touchups, piercings, and jewelry orders done through them. However, due to negative comments about trans people by the owner as well as the staff that I liked leaving to work elsewhere, I no longer felt safe or comfortable going to South of Heaven and adjusted my review accordingly to let other trans people know what to expect when soliciting this business. However, the owner accused me of never being a client at the studio and that I was attempting to slander the business because he was not happy with my review. In response, I am attaching emails from 2019-20 to show that I was a client and the owner’s claims of my never being a client are false. I see no reason why South of Heaven deserves a positive review when they changed to make people like me feel unsafe and disrespected.

Expérience fantastique: I just had my nose pierced by Terri a few days ago. When we got there as walkins she was already gone but she came back. She drove 25 minutes back to the shop just to pierce my nose and she didn’t even charge extra! Not only does she have so much knowledge to share but she walks through every step. I haven’t had a peiercing done since I was a kid and I was nervous and she helped calm my nerves. She not only pierced my nose but walked me through how to fix my messed up ear piercing and how to go about stretching my ears. After she was done with me she ended up cleaning my best friends ear piercings and educating us on how bad fake jewelry is. We spent a good hour there which put us pasted closing time and we got so much out of it. The price was $90 and honestly she should be charging more for her skills! If you’re wanting to get a piercing done or get one for your kid I highly recommend going to see Terri!! Thank you again Terri!!

She’s super gentle and easy going, giving you a minute if needed, and she’s super patient when you’re trying to pick out new jewellery (and is also amazing at recommending some.) Im so in love with my new piercings and as someone who’s had 23, these were the least intimidating because she made me feel so relaxed and I never felt rushed at any point. Even in the healing stage she’s super willing to quickly address my concerns and take me in to take a look at them and make sure everything is doing ok. Overall I couldn’t be happier with all the work she did and I can’t wait to go back for more upgrades to style my ears!

Expérience fantastique: Went to South Of Heaven to get my first tattoo with my wife. Messaged them on Facebook this morning to see if they had time for a couple walk in tattoos and got in a few hours later. Red was our artist, we got there early and he got us in early. We got matching tattoos of our wedding date, Red made sure that the size, placement and font were identical. He was very friendly, professional, explained the process before beginning, made us feel very comfortable, and was very quick and sanitary. We are hoping to see Red again for more ink soon.

Expérience fantastique: Went in yesterday, got a same day appointment with Erin. Looked through her binder and picked out an adorable flash design. She finished the tattoo in less than 40 minutes, had such a light hand, made me feel so comfortable. 10/10 would recommend

She hooked me up with a really dope unique piercing on my upper cartilage area on my right ear! ALSO she helped me pick out some cool opal jewelry that I’m IN LOVE with! Expérience négative: My boyfriend got his first nose piercing with Terri just over 2 years ago and had the worst experience EVER. She put a massive hoop (not even a stud) into his nose, which was too big for the hole so it then started swelling over the piercing and he immediately had to get it repierced somewhere else and they couldn’t believe what she did to his nose. And on top of that Terri was incredibly unprofessional talking about her political views. Telling him COVID is fake, talking about how no one’s actually dying from COVID etc. She made my boyfriend so incredibly uncomfortable and as a service provider myself that is just inexplicable to me. I have also had one of my own clients come in and I said to her “what the hell happened to your nose?!!?” It looked like she had an open wound on her face and she said I went to south of heaven tattoo for a nose piercing with Terri and it was horrible.. I said no kidding and explained my boyfriend had the exact same issue. These are her words : “She told me that it was $10 to swap out my jewelry in my nose plus the cost for the studs I picked. I had no problem with the price, she changed them out for me and then made me uncomfortable by insisting that I tip her because she was “doing me a favour” by taking me in last minute. After a few days my nose started to get infected on both sides, I went back 6 days later and asked to see her to remove them. The lady said she wasn’t in and told me they could remove them for a $65 tray fee. I told them I wasn’t charged a tray fee last time and it was just $10. They told me there was nothing they could do for me unless I paid the $65. I ended up going to another place down the street who removed them for $20 and told me Terri had put cartilage earring studs in my nose that were too tight and that’s why they swelled and got infected.” DO NOT BOOK WITH TERRI. I don’t know about the shops tattoos or any other piercer but bottom line do not book with Terri.
