This year we convinced my Uncle to get his very first tattoo done by Tarik of his beloved dog Joby. The tattoo came out beautifully. Tariq is not only an amazing artist but a kind, compassionate human being. Each time we visit H & H we treated like family which is why we won’t go anywhere else to get tattoos.

Experiencia fantástica: My husband and I go on a trip for our anniversary every year. For the last several years we have discussed getting tattoos to represent our family. We finally decided to pull the trigger in Nashville. We spent a day working with AI to come up with potential designs - birth month flowers for our anniversary, each other and our girls, as well as palms to represent our faith. My husband wanted a cross and our wedding date and the names of myself and our girls. We consulted a different tattoo shop off Broadway and they were said they couldn’t accommodate the smaller size I was hoping for, or the names and date my husband wanted. We started looking at HH Tattoo and were so impressed by Alejandro’s fine line and floral work. Much to our delight, he was available! Every part of our experience was great, from the clean environment, to the ladies and gentleman working the front end, to Alejandro helping us with our designs and bringing them to life, to the tattoo experience itself. He was so patient as we worked through ideas and brought in elements we wouldn’t have imagined on our own. It was a little difficult putting a down payment without seeing any mockups, but we trusted the process and were not disappointed. Some people are complaining about the price, but for custom work, we were both impressed.

Experiencia negativa: This is a tough one because I think everyone was very professional and nice. My artist was great, I liked her work. However, I cannot shake the feeling of being ripped off. They are grossly over charging for these tattoos. I believe in paying for quality and I am not cheap but charging $900 for a basic tattoo, nothing out of the box, no color, is ridiculous. I don’t know if this is to help with all the merchandise in the store that no one is buying. I will not be back, and encourage you to shop around before paying this type money in this economy.

We came in Tuesday and met our artist Alejandro we talked placement, size, and other changes we wanted. Then he got straight to work, mine was the rosary which he knocked out of the park. The cross’s details are so cool and more than I thought could be. Next my fiancé got his Marvin the martian that did another really great job on!! I highly recommend this place for the front of house and artists!!

Experiencia negativa: PLEASE READ 1 STAR REVIEWS BEFORE DECIDING ON THIS PLACE. I have never left a review in my life. I have lived in Nashville for over 6 years and have never spent more than $150 on a tattoo. (all of mine are more detailed and bigger than this one) I asked for a super small boot with thin lines, I was told by my artist that he could not go smaller and could not do thin lines. I proceeded anyways thinking everyone there must be as incompetent if he was refusing the simple request. He told me the cost was $128 and I agreed. ALSO, This was a matching tattoo with my mom. Once mine was completed (took double the time then it took my mom, as she had a different artist) I noticed that my tattoo was WAY bigger than my moms and thicker. So I was denied what I wanted on my body FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE because my artist was subpar I guess. After coming to terms with being unhappy, I decided to check my bank account today and was charged MORE THAN DOUBLE the agreed price. $278 to be exact. for this mediocre boot. When I called they gas lit me into thinking I agreed to a 250-350 range for this small tattoo. If you are looking for a good place please refer to my recs below!! I tell her my idea and she tried to over charge me and tell me it's hard for the artist to do what I wanted! After the artist reviewed my idea he made it simple and great! Cody is awesome and made it work with my basic is idea, but the front desk woman ALEXIS was simply the one person in the place that about turned me away from the whole experience. I dont like having to talk to someone who isn't going to be creating my idea on my body instead she was rude and needs to be fired! I'll come back only to show Cody how he made the experience worth everything!

Experiencia fantástica: This was my second time coming here, having started the process last trip to Nashville. I requested Austin again, and just like last year, he was professional, creative and he listened. The whole place is amazing, and I would recommend Austin to anyone.

Experiencia fantástica: Perfect spot to fill a rainy day in Nashville. HH doesn't have flash pieces to choose from so make sure you have your idea in mind. Reference photos or artwork will speed up the process but even still both myself and my wife walked in at 1030am on a Saturday and we're being tattooed at 12pm. Cody and Guillermo both did great work we could have been happier with the designs they brought to life on our skin in only a couple of hours.

Experiencia positiva: Got a really cool Cherub / Hannya mask from Brandon today. The walk-in process was so seamless and all staff were so friendly and helpful. Brandon made me feel well taken care of. Our appointment started probably 45 minutes late, and i had said we had dinner reservations at 6:30 and he said no problem. We ended up going over which is okay. Suggest if coming for a trip just give more time in the day just in case!

My experience from start to finish was outstanding. I sent photos of an 18-year-old tattoo I wanted reworked, along with ideas for an addition nearby. Communication was quick, clear, and professional. Pricing was upfront and honest—my deposit was $1,000, with an estimated range of $1,500–$2,300. Once I was in the shop, they actually lowered the final price to $2,100. That kind of transparency is rare and appreciated. I was paired with Drew, who was kind, patient, and incredibly thoughtful. He explained the entire process, made sure I was comfortable throughout the 7–8 hour session, and took regular breaks to help me stay relaxed. The little details—like giving a heads-up before wiping or adjusting—really stood out. He created a calm, respectful environment where I felt totally at ease. The rest of the team was just as welcoming. Everyone checked in on me during the session, offered water, and shared positive energy. Several artists even stopped by to admire the work and support Drew—such a great team vibe. Drew did an amazing job breathing new life into my old tattoo and adding a vibrant lotus. I’d been looking for an artist and his fine lines, shading and color work was exactly what I was looking for. The second tattoo also included a cover up of a very old tattoo and he did a wonderful job. From my first on-line contact to walking in the door to working with Mel K an incredible artist I was treated with such respect, understanding, and support. All the staff were professional and informative. Mel was fantastic as an artist and a person. Highly, highly recommended Mel and the folks at H&H.

Experiencia negativa: I am a nashville local and I've waited a little over 2 years to share this as I dont like to bash I've gotten many tattoos from my regular shop since. But I will start off with the shop is very clean. I inquired about a full sleeve and provided reference pictures but was not able to speak to the artist I chose until they texted me 3 days before the appointment that they were not familiar with the theme and had no idea where to start. A deposit is normal to secure your appointment but i was told it would be $1000 non-refundable deposit which was insane. I've had 15+ tattoo appointments and never paid more than 100 for a deposit. I showed up the day of to finally decide where we were going to start so we started on the underside of my forearm. I told my artist that I paid a $1000 deposit and he even admitted to me that they overcharged me and that we would not get that much work done that day. I had a few words near my hand that we decided to cover up and I was told that I would need a second visit to fully get the words covered up. My artist was super cool so i was going to use him again preferably if he changed shops, until they blocked me on Facebook. So I agree that this shop severely over charges people. I get it, "you pay for good tattoos." Yeah that's a sham to get overcharged by a shop. Everytime i tell someone this shop is where I got this specific tattoo I get asked if I got overcharged. It's the only tattoo I regret because I severely over paid and the covered words still show.

Experiencia fantástica: Guillermo did an amazing job. My hummingbird looks real, and I have been getting lots of compliments. It's expensive but worth it. I followed the instructions very carefully, and my hummingbird looks as good months later. I am very pleased.

I love my new piece with my whole heart! I will agree with other reviews stating it’s expensive, but you get what you pay for and I have no regrets! My tattoo looks amazing!! I’ve experienced the bare minimum of scabbing and peeling so far… I got my tattoo a little more than two weeks ago. I don’t think this tattoo will have an ugly phase which is shocking for me so I’d say well worth the price. I’m looking forward to going back and getting another piece by Mel and another artist as well! Don’t hesitate to send your money here!! Thank you!!!!

Cody took my concept sketch, came up with exactly what I wanted (better than I imagined, actually), and then created a masterpiece on my shoulder. I can't believe the fine details he was able to achieve. I am so glad I finally made the leap and can give my highest recommendation for going with Cody (I would imagine the other artists there have equal talent).

Experiencia negativa: Very clean on the inside, 3 hr wait not bad for being right off Broadway. First picture is 5 days after tattoo I had already left town. Reached out to them about it and had quick response and gave tips for healing. Second picture is a month later, unfortunately it looks very faded so I reached out and they were very quick to respond until they found out I lived in NJ. I’ve waited to post this review until I gave them proper time to answer. This isn’t my first tattoo and never had this happen. Also this tattoo cost me 450 dollars.

Experiencia negativa: Super nice staff and clean shop. However I paid over $230 for a fine line tattoo that fell out less than 24 hours after receiving it. I had derm-shield applied and was told to take it off in a couple hours later and I did that. As well as kept it clean and moisturized with their products. Really great staff but extremely disappointed I paid a large amount for a tattoo that is basically gone as I write this.I have multiple tattoos and am very familiar with the aftercare process.

I have specifically gone to Mel twice, once to add on to a tattoo I already had and then again to have Mel do a free rein on the rest of my thigh. Mel’s work is creative and detail oriented! I absolutely love the pieces she has done and I get the most complements on them as well. She has a calm presence and space and I personally love that she has her own room so that I don’t feel awkward sitting in a big row of tattoo chairs. Overall, a great experience from Mel and Hart and Huntington!!

Experiencia fantástica: Oh my gosh. This is the best tattoo and tattoo experience I have ever had. I went with my mother in law (this was her first tattoo) and I’m so glad that I picked this place. The whole process was super easy and efficient. My mother in law received her tattoo from Brandon (mushrooms with a firefly) and Cody did mine (toadstool mushroom). Just look at the photos and you will see the work these amazing artists put into these tattoos. I want more tattoos and will be coming here to get them done. I highly recommend this place.

Experiencia fantástica: Brandon did a phenomenal job on my tattoo! Overall great experience from the moment I walked in the door. All the staff were friendly and helpful. I had a tattoo done by Brandon at another place and when he moved to H&H, I moved too! He is a fantastic and talented tattoo artist. Great convo and stellar work! Couldn’t recommend him enough!!

Experiencia fantástica: A few things. One, from start to finish, the visit was phenomenal. I was given a quick overview at the reception area where I discussed my interests and asked questions. I got a general quote, and settled on my plans. Two, once my plans were laid out, the artist planned the piece quickly and accurately. We discussed preferences and location. Once we locked in, the artist crushed it. Alejandro did an outstanding job. Lines were clean and sharp, and I would describe it as very efficient, light handed and fluid. It was one of the best experiences I've had. Three, pricing was extremely reasonable. We are in the busiest area of an internationally renowned city, receiving walk-in (appointments available but walk-ins accepted) ink from artists with developed portfolios. Tattoo pricing is important, BUT it's worth noting that this isn't the product you want to get caught up on pricing. Quality, is everything, and they have it in an overabundance here. That said, the price estimate came in under budget. I was not required to get anything nor pressured. Though, I'd recommend first-timers get their care package. Outstanding work from Alejandro. I'll be back.

Experiencia negativa: I certainly agree with several of the post/reviews that are NOT good. In all, there wasn’t a lot of bashing to the greetings or cleanliness of the place, because it was up-kept and did look good. BUT, I would like to make this very clear and it seems there are others that agree… THE TATTOOS ARE RIDICULOUSLY PRICED…sorry for all you who say “then you never had a professional tattoo done or been in a professional tattoo shop” YES,yes I have and I’m all tatted up and been to some great artists that don’t try to sell. This is a place that don’t care but only to get you in and get you out. The smaller the tattoo the better… they have a hard time working with something who wants a larger piece. With that being said… the way they present there sales tactics is absolutely absurd! There should NEVER be a deposit put down without an agreed price of the piece. From the reviews and a quite a few of them, and the experience my wife and I just had this past weekend, I wouldn’t go there ever again. The sales tactic is to give you a reasonable price for the piece you want then have you put down a deposit. Once an artist finally gets to you and you finalize it, the price doubles and in my case tripled. My artist was great and I don’t necessarily think it was him pricing it but, I think it is the shop manager price gouging people’s eyeballs out with a smile on his face.

Experiencia fantástica: Great shop, very clean with talented artists. Everything was explained well and we all got exactly what we wanted. We were a group of 4 and it didn’t take much time at all. Highly recommended for any size piece, small or large!

Experiencia negativa: I want to leave an honest review about my experience here. I booked an appointment 2 months in advance with multiple reference pictures for my artist to review. I paid $150 deposit for the piece and was quoted $450-650 in total. Red flag #1: Upon arivial, Mel, was not prepared for my booked appointment. Why book in advance if my artisit isnt going to draw up sketches for my proposed idea? This was NOT a walkin! I spent 2 hours in the lobby waiting for the artist to sketch one design that was just okay. I had spent so much time waiting & had given my artist plenty of time to prepare plus already paid the deposit that i was not going to leave at this point. But her design was mediocre compared to what she posts on social media. Red flag #2: the artisit posts on social media that she prefers "free reign designs" aka she wants to slap what SHE wants on your body. So of course! Now it makes sense why she was not prepared for my prebooked appointment. She did not intended to work with my ideas in her style and instead copy and pasted my reference photo as my tattoo design. Sure its my fault for not saying no but $150 deposit is a lot of money to waste when i had confidence in the artisit before my appointment. To be honest i found this to be an extremely unprofessional experience. I have serveral other tattoos from other tattoo shops that had predesigned the tattoo with multiple options before arrival with a LOWER deposit, arguably better designs, & friendlier artists (she spent time complaining about her instagram likes lmao). Final price was absurd compared to the size (3x3) at $700. All in all (if youre still reading) this shop is a CHAIN. They do not care about their customers time or expectations nor take critism very well (see other reviews). It just makes me sad because i really loved this artisits work before hand but was given a subpar experience.

Experiencia fantástica: So there’s a lot of people complaining about prices on here…..they obviously have never gotten a PROFESSIONAL tattoo done. This shop is impeccable and they are all amazing at what they do. Had nothing but the best experience. And already have another session booked. Thank you guys for not just being a tourist trap and caring about local business!

Experiencia fantástica: Easy place to find, though there's a bit of construction on the main road out front right now, so I had to navigate a temporary walkway. Soon as I walked in, they greeted me kindly and got me checked in for my appointment, which my wife did ahead of time. (Highly recommended to book in advance for anything you want) The place was clean and had a lot of apparel to look through while I waited. My tattoo artist greeted me shortly after check-in to review my reference art I already sent over and what I wanted to personalize. He created this amazing work after about 25 minutes, and we tweaked it from there. This group is professional, friendly, and patient with the process to make sure they can deliver high-quality results. I'll definitely go back when I want more. Thanks y'all!

Experiencia fantástica: To start off with, the shop itself was clean and a great place for this shop. Heather greeted me right away, as she worked the front, and made the checkin process smooth. Alejandro was awesome to work with. A true fine-lines artist and planning on more work with him in the future! Highly recommend Alejandro and this shop! My expectations were exceeded and the entire team was great. If you want a customized design by real Artist, this is the place.

Experiencia fantástica: I love how my tattoo turned out. When I saw the finished product I said "it doesn't even look like a tattoo, it looks like I was born with it". The employees were very nice, they explained the process well. Mel was very nice and professional. We talked about what it would look like amd how to take care of it.

H&H is in a fun location in Nashville, very clean, with respectful staff and artists. I definitely plan to return here when ready for my next tattoo and highly recommend.

Experiencia fantástica: First tattoo and top to bottom it was an amazing experience. Studied artists for months and finally decided on Guillermo at H&H. Paid deposit and made my appointment, then drove 3.5 hours to Nashville on appointment day! Talked with Guillermo for a few minutes and explained exactly what I wanted and 10 minutes later I was on the table and he was working. I knew I picked the right artist when he apologized that it was taking awhile(I didn't think it was) and explained that he's a perfectionist. The end result is exactly what I had pictured in my head when I first started looking. Awesome shop, awesome staff, but they were crazy busy with walk in's so if yours is going to take some time definitely make an appointment! Thanks Guillermo, and Go blue!!

Experiencia negativa: Attempted a walk-in for a small fine-line tattoo. Never got a chance to speak to the actual artist, only the receptionist at the front that was relaying information. The quote felt very high considering the simplicity of the design we were asking for (no custom design, just copying a photo). They also were suggesting that 2 small tattoos would take over an hour and a half to do. The shop was clean and professional, but overall the vibes were not great and the pricing was very steep.

Experiencia fantástica: Scheduled an impromptu for a new tattoo. Haven’t had any work done in about 12 years so I was nervous. Great atmosphere and conveniently located downtown near my office for post-work appointments. Drew T proved his experience and was very professional and careful-handed with my chest tattoo. He cleaned up a draft I shared and provided a few diff sizes to get the right fit. Not too painful honestly and I have low tolerance. It went very smoothly and pretty quick! I was a bit surprised by the high price point for the work but this shop is right off 2nd ave. $$ likely goes into the location, facilities and quality staff and equipment. Going back for a consultation on my sleeve in a few weeks with a diff artist I pre-chose by style but I expect the same positive quality and outcome

Experiencia negativa: Very rude receptionist/apprentice. Called multiple times to talk about a walk in tattoo (size, time, pricing). We kept being told to not email a reference picture and to just come up. We told them we were a 2 hour drive away, and wanted to make sure we weren’t wasting our time. When we got to the shop they told us they didn’t have time to do any tattoo that we wanted. Snarky, and bad attitudes
