I came in last night to get an eyebrow piercing, which I was really nervous about, but Ashley was amazing!! She made me feel sooo comfortable immediately, offered me something to squeeze on, & answered all of my questions. The best part was, it barely hurt; she did awesome! I couldn’t thank you more for such an incredible, smooth experience, Ashley! Keep being freaking cool!!

Experiencia negativa: Got my daith pierced here followed the aftercare instructions to the tea, but still struggled with constant pain and a stubborn piercing bump. After seeking a second opinion, I learned that my daith was pierced with a curved barbell; which is inappropriate for this piercing. It should have been a hoop to allow for proper healing. It’s frustrating that I was set up for failure from the start.

Experiencia positiva: I decided to go here after seeing all the positive reviews. I had just needed to check to see if my helix piercing had closed overnight and if they were able to put one back in. I walked in and couldn't find the words to describe my situation. Rather than waiting for me to find my words, I was heckled at the front desk and thought to be "high." The girl behind the front desk seemed to listen to what I was trying to say at the very least. They told me to go to the other desk in the back, and the other desk treated me as if I were intruding on their time. If I looked confused and nervous, it was because I was; it was my second time in a piercing place and first time losing a 8 month piercing. Anyway, they told me the piercing had closed, that was fine. Could just be city life attitude, but I'd rather not come back.

Experiencia fantástica: Previously (2 years ago) got a Rook piercing on my left ear at Lucky 13, because I had great feedback from my peers. I just returned yesterday to get the right side of my ear pierced, and I got a conch piercing. I had been wanting this piercing for at least those two years and I knew exactly where I envisioned it and where I thought it needed to be with my other piercings. Without a doubt, my piercer placed the dot exactly where I wanted it in two seconds like he just knew exactly where to put it, had me check it (even though I already fully trusted him), and I am so happy with my piercing. I LOVE IT. The kindness that they give to you is so much appreciated to give back. I really appreciate all of you. My wonderful experience began with superb and attentive front desk service; I felt so supported by her! Lovely experience 10/10 thank yall I will be back for my next :)

Unexpectedly I ended up getting my 2nd one...Lol. I LOVE IT HERE. We are now looking at some ink to get in the near future. The staff is professional, the place is clean, and the prices are affordable.

Excellent place to go to for piercings. I've used them on multiple occasions for other piercings. Limited parking.

Experiencia fantástica: My friend and I scheduled to get tats from Angel today at noon. When we got there, he was already at L13. As always he is funny and crazy at the same time. His convo keeps your mind off the pain, which of course doesn’t last. Anyone that’s has had any issues at L13/Angel, maybe you weren’t right for him. Our tats are always done right and if you ask him about getting a tat anywhere he will be honest and let you know.

Experiencia fantástica: I went to go get my septum repierced after having it out for about a year and a half and I had already paid. Ashley, the girl with the pink hair, took me back, put a taper in, put jewelry in and told me I was good to go and to just wait two weeks before changing it! She explained that septum’s don’t close up very easily and just needed a taper to get the jewelry back in. They refunded me and sent me on my way. Truly amazing! 10/10 experience! I’ve always loved lucky 13, but they just made it even better!!

Experiencia positiva: I went and got a nostril piercing and it was a quick walk in process, the staff was friendly as well. I just wanted to put it out there that they pierce with L bar’s for nose piercing and those are notorious for healing complications and falling out. you get what you pay for with this place, but just save the trouble switching out the jewelry and go somewhere that uses flat backs.

Experiencia negativa: my familys been coming here for 9+ years, but i cant say that we’ll be coming back after today. the front desk woman was extremely rude and condescending. daughters have to have the exact same last name and address as their moms on their IDS in order to prove relationship apparently? giving a child your maiden name and custody agreements dont exist to this girl i guess. additionally, every question that was asked was met with “oookaaaay…?” or excessive blinking and at one point she told us to go across the street to enigma. well, we did and got worlds better service. extra money isnt an issue when professionalism and regard for the ppl youre servicing is on the line. the appeal of this place was how cheap, easy, and friendly the establishment was, but theyve gone downhill in recent years. piercing with incorrect jewelry (when any good piercer would know better), piercing crookedly, and now the customer service being abysmal. this is the nail in the coffin, greatly disappointing. :\

Experiencia fantástica: My friend and I went in for a walk in and we were out within 15 minutes. Ashley pierced my helix and she was so sweet! She thoroughly explained care and the piercing/healing process as well as making sure I felt comfortable telling her whether I was satisfied with the placement or not. The piercing was $20 with jewelry included and with the cleaning solution was a total of $33. Would absolutely come back for any piercing needs!

Experiencia negativa: I went in to get my jewelry changed and right off the bat the piercing lady at the front had such a nasty attitude towards me. She asked when I got it pierced and I told her I can’t remember but it was months ago. I then asked her how long are u supposed to wait to change it because I wanted to know if I waited the right amount of time. She then gave me attitude and in a nasty tone repeated her question and said “when did u get it pierced” I guess she thought I was gonna lie and just tell her I got it pierced the timeline she tells me? Like why off the bat are u assuming the worst in me and being so extremely rude. I remained kind throughout talking to her even after she treated me that way. And when i told her i got it done like late last year she said we could change it. Then I told her I have a piercing bump and was wondering if it’s still ok to change it. I can’t remember exactly her reply but her tone was really judgemental and just not nice. You could tell she did not want to help / be there. I then asked the other worker if I could get my cartilage changed since I can’t get my conch changed and I was wondering if my cartilage also has a piercing bump. They looked at my cartilage and replied in a very judgemental and rude tone saying I can’t. Then i touched me ear and they were like “if u keep touching it like that it won’t heal” super rude and loud for everyone to hear. Word of advice maybe have some empathy for people and think before you speak. I got both these piercings done here and the cartilage one is also at an angle no wonder why I have a piercing bump yall pierced it incorrectly… im not ever coming back here so extremely unprofessional. If you hate your job then quit don’t take it out on your customers. I hope the workers who acted this way see this and realize their behavior is unacceptable. I just found out yesterday my friend died and you never know what someone is going through. You should treat people with kindness because your rude behavior can be somebodies last straw.

Experiencia positiva: I went here to get my belly button (navel) piercing and was in and out super duper quick. But before getting my piercing I was doing a lot of research on whether or not I had the right anatomy, what type of jewelry I needed for my navel, etc. I thought that the piercer would take a look at my anatomy to see if it was fine but no.. it was a super quick in and out, I don’t think a clamp was used, not that it has to be but that’s what I usually see when people get their navel pierced. Fast forward to now, a week after I got pierced, the bottom screw of the jewelry fell out for some reason. I was out of town and went to another piercing shop to see if they could replace the part that fell off, but the piercer looked at it and said that the jewelry was too short for my anatomy and I should’ve gotten a longer bar. I wish the piercers at lucky 13 could’ve been a little more professional but they seem very rushed. However, they were super duper nice and it’s very cheap for the jewelry + piercing (only $20 for mine) it’s just unfortunate about my specific situation.

Experiencia fantástica: Great experience since I’ve been going for a while got my first tattoo when I was 16 I was scared but as I’ve gotten use to it I’ve started getting more. I never had another piercing but in May of this year my sister talked me into getting my nose piercing for the 1st time every since I’ve had it healed or not I still clean it with sea salt and warm water for the healing process to be healed quickly and smooth.

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve gotten 2 piercings and 4 tattoos at lucky, from ages 18-30. I’ve loved every single one. Jerry is so so incredible, very honest, professional and kind. Jade the front desk person is succhhhh a pumpkin pie . So sweet and welcoming. Good folks work here, (in a world where shops are feeling increasingly pretentious,) this place feels like home.

Experiencia negativa: maybe this is a good tattoo shop but get rid of your piercing section. writing this in urgent care rn. i got my belly button pierced here and cleaned it everyday, it was totally fine until i bought one of their other bars. the metal like took my skin off and now there’s just scar tissue. my friend also came here and got a piercing and that got infected. she hasn’t known anyone else who’s gotten pierced here who has been able to heal theirs. it’s all gotten infected and had to be removed by a different professional. if you wanna be a tattoo shop please do that but damn get rid of the piercings side. i guess it’s cheap for a reason but you know that entices people only for them to get infected and be on the brink of death crying to a doctor about it. also i want to clarify i’ve had multiple different types of metal in my face and belly button before and i've never had a reaction from it so please don’t respond saying i didn’t look into what kind of metal it was bc i did. you guys just use cheap stuff and that’s okay but maybe stop.

Experiencia negativa: DO NOT GO TO THIS SHOP. I went in to get a Monroe piercing, and one of the female piercers gave me a bar that was way too short. Within four days, it started cutting off circulation. After I removed it, I was left with a knot of scar tissue right above my mouth, which now makes it uncomfortable to talk or move my mouth normally. They clearly don’t care about what happens after you leave. They gave no proper aftercare instructions and didn’t make sure the sizing was right. Honestly, it didn’t seem like they were very knowledgeable or professional at all. If you still decide to go here, make sure they give you the correct jewelry size and do your own research on aftercare — because they won’t guide you. I’d rather spend more at a place that actually cares than end up paying even more to fix the damage they caused.

Experiencia negativa: do NOT go here for an anti eyebrow piercing. They pierced with a curved barbell even though its highly recommended to pierce with a staple bar. wish i could rate this place zero stars. Honestly wished I asked beforehand what they pierced with but it was a spare of the moment type of thing so wasn't thinking smh.

Experiencia negativa: Very unprofessional establishment. Called in prior to going in to find out requirements and hours was told they close at eight. We arrived for a piercing at about 740 and was did not service saying they close at 7:30. Was then told that they don’t have set hours. They can stop piercings when they choose and it’s a walk-in basis, which is very inconvenient for someone who has to travel far to their establishment. You would think they had better business practices. On top of that the front desk girl was very nasty about the situation. It’s OK to stay in firm on your companies beliefs, but being rude is not necessary.

Experiencia positiva: My expectations were definitely a little too high for lucky 13 I’ve been coming here since I was 15 to get piercings and finally came in for 2 small tattoos which both aren’t completely bad but I really expected better especially with the line work I’ve had the heart only for a day and it looks like I’ve had it for years the man that did my tattoos was very nice but a little on the rushy side

I have since gotten another piercing at this location and am still in LOVE!! Update: Since my first post I have since gone back for two more piercings and lost my nose piercing, but I am in LOVE with this place piercing are affordable and they use sterile metals.

Experiencia negativa: Went in as a walk in to see about a cover up. Jade at the front desk was very friendly and the lobby area was clean. However, once the artist that was chosen for me approached me, he was given an idea from another artist. The idea was amazing, and I was happy. Had to wait for him to draw it up which is reasonable. He kept saying he was going to give me paperwork. After a bit, he showed me the drawing and I loved it. He said he'd get it copied and be right back with me. 30-45 minutes went by and he finally came out. Took me back and put the stencil on. Again, it looked great. He told me he was going to give the stencil 5-10 minutes to dry. Came back about 15 minutes later and told me it was going to be $400. A little out of my budget for the small work I was getting done, but I liked the design and the potential of adding on to it, so I agreed. The tattoo came out different than the stencil. This was not apparent when I looked at it in the mirror as it was not wiped all the way, which I think was an attempt to hide what became obvious once I washed it and saw what it was. The stencil showed a mountain scene with a tree line. It was delicate and very real looking. The artist even told me how he specializes in realism. The actual tattoo, aside from being totally overworked, has large blobs of black in it. They don't fit in with the design at all and it is very apparent that this was a cover up tattoo. All that being said, you can still see parts of the old tattoo showing through. At this point, I couldn't cover up the cover up unless I just got a black out tattoo because it is so black and blotchy already. It really is a horrible tattoo, and I am embarrassed by it. $400 (plus tip) for a tattoo on my lower bicep that makes me want to cover it up. It looks awful. It's overworked. I can still see part of the old tattoo. When I left, I also realized that I never signed any paperwork, and they never even looked at my ID. Pretty sure that violates some regulations. To be honest, if I was tattooing at the quality that Q at Lucky 13 is, I wouldn't have anyone sign something showing that I gave them a tattoo either.

The customer service was outstanding, and the artist truly listened to what I wanted, all while staying within my budget. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be back for future tattoos!

She got my sisters and I in late last minute which I’m surprised since they usually are booked or busy . So I am so thankful . Now the tattooist, Cortez hands down AMAZING and ABSOLUTELY GENUINE ! I have 2 tatoos but it was when I was younger so I was young and reckless, so I didn’t feel much . Now being older I am such a whimp when it comes to needles . I braved up and went through with it and thank goodness I did ! He was gentle and genuine from the moment he walked towards my sisters and I . He listened and was great from the beginning and I just can’t thank him enough . Thank you Cortez, you are a gem .!

Experiencia negativa: do NOT get pierced here.. every piercing I’ve gotten here (rook & nostril) has either been pierced incorrectly or extremely irritated from the poor jewelry they use. yes it’s cheap, but not worth it. save yourself the heartache and spend a little more money somewhere else for higher quality and someone who genuinely cares about the service they are providing you.

I got a super awesome piece for 300 bucks and he was the kindest soul I have ever met. This man stayed late for me, bought me food when I thought I was going to faint, and he made me feel super comfortable and taken care of. If I could give more than 5 stars I honestly would. If you are considering getting a new piece head over to Lucky 13 and ask for Cortez!

Experiencia negativa: First tattoo and I so happened to be so blessed to have Phil as my first artist, not only did he manage to make 3 straight lines look like a toddler did them, but he charged $180 for it. On top of his “work” he (who is very clearly over the age of 50/60) begins preying on my girlfriends roommate who’s newly 19, mentioning he wants to get to know her and some other creepy stuff like it’s no big deal. Other artists seemed awesome and nice, my girlfriend got a larger tattoo for 120 the same day so if it’s your first time don’t let them put you with Phil.

Experiencia negativa: do NOT get a piercing here. four years ago, i went to get a simple septum piercing. they managed to do it so off place, rather than the easy to locate “sweet spot” that’s lower and through skin, they pierced it at the highest possible point in my septum through thick cartilage. took months to stop being sore, and i finally gave up trying to heal it and recently took it out to let it close and eventually get it redone by someone much more professional such as River City. again, FOUR YEARS LATER. i also got a navel piercing maybe 3 years ago. took a year to heal and it’s way more shallow than id like it to be. DO NOT get a piercing here. do your research and get your moneys worth somewhere better. people are nice, but they force you to wait outside until they are ready for you. just overall not worth it at all.

Experiencia negativa: The actual tattoo experience was fine, I suppose. Very quick and they don’t do much explaining. My nose was done at a really bad angle so hoops were really difficult. The worst part is that they give you bad advice. My piercer told me to wash it with antibacterial soap (bad) and that I could change it after 2 months (very bad). It wasn’t remotely healed, but I took his word and changed it (lucky 13 changed it too). I kept a piercing bump and it never healed. I ended up just taking it out and it left a bad scar. You do get what you pay for. If you go there just don’t take their advice.

Experiencia fantástica: This was my fourth piercing from Lucky 13 and I loved every minute of it! J-sin was my piercer for the last two piercings and he really makes you feel at ease. The whole shop has a very clean and inviting environment, and every single piercer is really professional! The prices are really great, too! I highly recommend Lucky 13 to anyone considering a piercing!

He was so Nice and Really Sweet Gave Clear Aftercare Instructions Also He was so Gentle With Me Plus They Have A Clean Environment and It was Pain-free(My Opinion) 10 Out Of 10 I will definitely come back I'm already Researching More Piercings to Get and will be Sure To Request Him If I can?.

Experiencia negativa: These people lied to me and told me by law that they couldn’t take a virtual student ID because it was against the law. There was nothing on the Virginia department of health that states that they can’t. Then I called back and they tell me that it’s there policy so why was I told that it was the law. I really feel my child and I was treated wrong in this situation and the lady was very rude at the end and hung up the phone. I honestly got my first tattoo from them when I was younger i was in town and I am very disappointed in the way my daughter and I was treated. I use to love this place smh.

Experiencia fantástica: I wish I could give them more than 5 stars! I went in to see their piercer today about some infected and swollen dimple piercings and the entire team was so lovely to deal with. They were so gentle and so sweet during the entire process, and didn’t even charge me a thing!

Experiencia fantástica: I have always wanted a septum piercing and I chose this place to get one because of the fact it has the #13 in its name. They did not disappoint! Fast easy and professional. I kinda jerked and bled some but that was not the woman that assisted me fault. Totally recommend 10/10!!

Experiencia fantástica: Jason is hands down the best piercer I’ve ever had! I’ve had a total of 16 holes poked in my body over the years by various piercers. Currently have 10 with jewelry still in. Ever since meeting Jason he has done multiple piercings for me and every time I go to see him it’s always the best! He is always professional, clean, and proficient! He has a calm presence about him which helps with the anxiety of what to expect. He is thorough with explaining aftercare and provides you with clear instructions on what to do. He makes himself available for prompt responses for any questions you have after your piercing is complete and never makes you feel like a burden. His space is always clean and neat. I truly cannot say enough about Jason. Having a piercer you trust and that is knowledgeable about what they are doing is so important and I can truly say Jason is THE ONLY person I trust to poke holes in my body! Even with as many piercings as I have I still get nervous every time I get a new one, but once I’m there Jason boosts my confidence and I always leave feeling like a bada$$! Go see him for all your piercing needs! He is THE MAN!

The reviews left were dead on...from my first phone call to the time my 17 year old was out of the chair, it was an 11 out of 10 experience. Clean, efficient, welcoming and extremely detail oriented. Rev. Bob made absolutely sure that she was getting exactly what she wanted and her vision was fully realized. She was comfortable, informed, and treated professionally. I'd fly another l 1300 miles round trip to get one here myself! I'll know this time to go to the tattoo side and not wait in line on the piercing side

Experiencia negativa: if there was a negative option i would give it. I came with a friend and when i mentioned I had brought my own sterilized titanium jewelry (to be pierced with AS THEY TOOK THE PAYMENT to the service desk worker. my piercer did not even speak to me with their policies or concerns but instead extremely rudely told the person who took my payment that they would not pierce my nose because i wanted a titanium piercing, and THEN denied my friend who had not brought their own just because I had said what I wanted. Then for the front desk person to say titanium isn’t as good as “surgical steel” when it comes to skin reactions was just the cherry on top. I do not recommend lucky 13 for anyone who cares about any type of infection or reaction or any level of sanitary when it comes to their piercings or tattoos.

I was TERRIFIED of my getting my nose pierced (i blame "peer" pressure from my adult daughters) but it was done so fast!! and now i LOVE it!! i can't wait to go back and get more! i got my nose done in January for $20 (plus tip; DON'T FORGET TO TIP!) and 3 ear piercings (both lobes bc they had closed up 10-15 years ago) and a right helix for $60. I CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK

Experiencia fantástica: Shout out to you guys. I came there last week and got my dermal pierced. My whole experience was amazing. The atmosphere was very clean and organized. I was in and out. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. My piercer was great. I even tried to tip him and he told me not to worry about it. So the least I can do is write a good review. And I LOVE my new piercing. I will be back and I highly recommend this place. Way to go Lucky 13!!!!

Experiencia fantástica: I love this place. They do great tattoos and will design custom ones. Very clean. Nice interior. Separate areas for piercing. They do an excellent job on piercings and very reasonable prices. Open 12pm to 8pm everyday of the week. Appointments recommended for tattoos.

An autographed guitar from one of Richmond's finest. The shop is clean and eclectic. The People are diverse and fun. Couple of local stores around to hit up for food or whatever while you're waiting. Total win. Keep it up

I'm not sure if they still do the Friday the 13th deals, but I have also come here for those events and love the idea of $13 tattoos on Friday the 13th
