Fantastic experience: Just did my first ever tattoo with Owyn, it was amazing!! They made me super comfortable the whole time and did a fantastic job with the artwork. Couldn't recommend Owyn or the shop highly enough. Definitely best experience getting stabbed I’ve ever had :)

Negative experience: I had my hands tattoo done here and it has been about four years into the state. I hate it. It looks like she doodle on my hand. It looked nothing like the stencil. I was so upset. I am still upset because my hand tattoo looks nothing like the stencil or the inspiration pictures that I gave her and she improvised a.k.a. doodle on my hand. It looks like scribbles and I’m just really upset. There was like a lack of accountability. Please don’t go here. They will do whatever and then convince you that you like it and then make you pay for it.

Fantastic experience: i got flash done by natalie, it was my first time having an appointment in this shop, & safe to say i hope to book more appointments here!! the vibe was so welcoming & comfortable, natalie did a butterfly from her flash for the "get out " fundraiser back in feb, she was the kindest & chillest person ever. she did amazing as far as communicating with me making sure i liked everything with the stencil & the piece she did turned out amazing in my opinion & im so excited to have a new piece + being able to also have part of the $$ go towards mutual aid for the community makes me feel good too. i reccomend this shop for anyone looking to get a tattoo, & thanks you jackalope for such a good first time experience i hope to stop by again very soon!❤️‍

Fantastic experience: Got a pet memorial tattoo with Sydney - my bird's footprints on my shoulder where he used to sit. Sydney extracted perfect lines from the footprints I provided, and has a VERY light hand and was a joy to work with! I also appreciated how secure the studio was - I didn't feel like there was immediate risk of unwanted cosplay-triots barging in while needles were in use. Definitely felt like a safe place. In the end, my tattoo came out so perfectly- Sometimes I see the claws in my peripheral vision, and for a second, it's like he's sitting there on my shoulder again. Thank you so much!

Fantastic experience: Got a tattoo from Charlie. He was very professional and kind, and did great work quickly. I got a flash piece of his and I absolutely love it. The parlour was hopping, with great ambiance and cool art everywhere. 10/10

I’ve been thinking about this tattoo for a while and I really appreciated the care Ollie took to make sure I got what I was thinking about. These humans are so talented, caring and professional. This queer space is welcoming and respectful. I love coming to Jackalope.

Fantastic experience: Jackalope is SO COOL. I appreciated that doors were locked and masks were required. My artist was super receptive to questions and it just felt like such a safe, welcoming, and professional atmosphere. The booths are secluded enough to feel private, yet open enough to feel connected. My artist was extremely considerate about moving stencils, taking and posting photos, asking for input on colors, all that stuff. Very collaborative. Will be back.

Fantastic experience: Best tattoo shop in Minneapolis right now!!! I love my artist, they do such beautiful color work and are the sweetest human being on the planet! The shop is huge, located close to my favorite restaurant, and so beautifully decorated. The shop is still requiring masking so there is minimal risk for you getting tatted. I love this so much <3 thank you for keeping us safe.

Fantastic experience: I’ve gotten a small handful of tattoos from this shop and I’ve had wonderful experiences with all the staff. As for the tattoos, I love them even more! Most recently, my skin had a reaction to the second skin that was applied to protect my tattoo (I’ve used it before for other tattoos and have had no allergic reaction before) and the shop owner was profusely apologetic, though it was no fault of theirs, and my next session was completely compensated. Will definitely go back!!

Fantastic experience: I've been tattooed by both Syd and Zee and absolutely love their work. The space M has created in their shop is my favorite place to be as a client. It's an incredibly respectful place towards queer and neurodivergent patrons. I look forward to attending some flash days and eventually working with other artists at Jackalope.

Fantastic experience: This crew is simply the best! From the moment I walked in, I felt safe and welcome. I appreciated their sickness safety measures, such as requiring masks and providing hand sanitizer. Sam and I spent almost an hour tweaking tiny details on my tattoo design and placement, and she never made me feel rushed or annoying. I was nervous to get a full color tattoo since I have darker skin, but Sam has lots of experience with POC skin all over her insta, so I knew I was in good hands! She is a great conversationalist with lots of knowledge to share, and respected when I wanted to pop in my headphones and zone out for a while. Overall the environment is great, my tattoo is AMAZING, and I look forward to coming back someday!

Positive experience: I knew ahead of time that it would be street parking only, so I made sure to arrive a half hour early in case I had to park farther away and walk. What I did not know was that there was an anti ICE protest happening nearby on the day of my appointment, so the roads for blocks around were single lane driving with bumper to bumper parking on both sides. Easily one of the most stressful parking scenarios of my entire life. I realize that it is not Jackalope's fault this happened, but it played a significant enough role in my experience for me to mention it here. The tattoo studio itself was very nice and inviting. They were understanding of me being late due to the traffic/parking situation. My artist was Syd, who did a great job on my piece. I will say that the overhead lights are very bright, so if/when I go back, I'll have to bring an eye mask. I am not opposed to coming back for more services in the future, just preferably not when there is a massive event going on nearby.

Fantastic experience: My girlfriends and I came in for matching tattoos and had the best experience ever! Everyone was incredibly accommodating and so lovely. The whole establishment had the best vibe, definitely the best tattoo studio any of us had ever been to. Cam did our tattoos and we are all so happy with our new ink! :)

Fantastic experience: BEST tattoo experience I’ve EVER had, bar none! Charlie was phenomenal, and did a perfect tattoo on my left side. I love it, I love it, I love it! I don’t live in MN, and I was able to get a time that worked for me, and the price was VERY reasonable! Charlie has a light touch and is very conscientious and checked on me throughout the process. There are not enough words to describe the joy I feel when I look at this tattoo. It was something I needed to do for myself and I’m SO happy I chose Jackalope!

Fantastic experience: Wow. Where do I even start? Charlie provides an ethereal experience. The safe atmosphere in his booth is absolutely unprecedented. I hate getting tattooed but with Charlie the tattoo machine felt like angel kisses. The Dalmatian ghost he did drew had such unique and bold colors, and he executed them beautifully on my dark skin. I cannot praise him and the entire experience enough. I’ll be back again and again! Thank so much Charlie!

Fantastic experience: Charlie was phenomenal! He was patient and attentive through the whole process and accommodated a pretty last-minute booking which was hugely appreciated, as I was visiting. Charlie is a sweet human with a fantastic hand for tattooing. We had lively discussions about all manner of being human with some very real and meaningful topics. It was a blast. The tattoos as healing wonderfully too! I will be visiting again to work with Charlie for sure.

Fantastic experience: Really nice tattoo parlor. Masks required made me feel really safe, and I love the support they show for lgbtq+ and female identifying artists. The axolotl was also really cute. :) my tattoo ended up being pricier than I initially planned, but you get what you pay for, and I was really happy with my piece.

Negative experience: I've gone there a few times and this review is mainly for a specific artist over the shop. The shop itself is nice but be aware every tattooer there is a contractor and if you have a problem with one artist they can't help you. I've gotten several tattoos from Katie Kroeck and I thought we had a good rapport. She canceled on me back in December saying she would reach back out to reschedule and I have never heard from her again. I've reached out multiple times I've called the shop twice now with no response from her. And at this point I don't even want her to do anything more on me but the shop can't help either. There's no one to go to despite the fact that I have a spot that is so very obviously not well done and I can't get it fixed without paying more for a different artist.

Fantastic experience: A very comfortable & relaxed shop -- everyone was friendly and they have the added bonus of an axolotl in the reception area. :) Alex did my tattoo and they were awesome! They were easy to work with, did a great job with my artwork and created custom ink colors to match what I wanted. They were very personable and fun to talk to, plus had a light touch. Overall a very enjoyable experience and not nearly as painful as I was expecting. I love how the tattoo came out and there haven't been any issues with it. I would highly recommend Alex!

Fantastic experience: I got to work with Lauren this past Sunday, and not only did she do amazing work (clearly, it turned out gorgeous) but she provided such a fun and safe environment during the process. Fantastic experience: I visited this shop for the first time yesterday to get this clown rabbit flash done, and it was a great experience! All of the staff are lovely and friendly, the place is very clean and well-kept, and the atmosphere is very welcoming and inclusive. I got this piece done by Cam, an apprentice there, and I'm very pleased with their work. They were great to chat with, happy to alter the design a bit to fit what I wanted, and they did a great job with it! The tattooing itself took a little longer as they wanted to go slower and take care with getting it right, which I appreciated. They also have other cool flash designs, which I'm hoping to get done in the future when I have more money to spend :) Overall, I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to get a tattoo!

Fantastic experience: I got my first tattoo with Lauren, and it is everything I dreamed of! Lauren was super helpful throughout the entire process, describing every step so I wouldn’t feel nervous. They answered all my questions, and didn’t make me feel bad at all for adjusting the design a little bit. Her aftercare instructions were very detailed, and my tattoo is healing nicely. It was such a good experience, that after seeing it, my parents agreed to get matching tattoos with me! I’d also like to thank Lauren’s assistant, Tia, for promptly responding to my many emails. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience or tattoo!

Fantastic experience: Both Jackalope & Fia were very responsive via email when scheduling. Reasonable & competitive pricing w/o being pushy. I sat with Fia on FRI 11/8 for 2 tattoos; they have a very light hand & are very thorough. They also were super receptive to design-edits I requested (which is not a thing artists are stereotypically graceful [or kind] about). Great experience - I will definitely be going back to sit with them again. Even before they were done with my tattoos, I was talking about scheduling to come back. Note: music being played overhead in the shop was immaculate + all staff were kind & helpful.
