Fantastic experience: Always our go to spot in Tucson for tattoos, the staff is always welcoming and informative. Sarah is the absolute best and has done hours of work for my wife and myself and kills it Every Single Time.

Fantastic experience: Very friendly, quick with the piercings, and totally cared about how they treated me. Edit: Have gone back multiple times for piercings (Indy) and tattoos (Miss Blue, Indy, Sarah). Have never had a bad experience with anyone there, and they are all great. Have take my 3 daughters to get piercings as well, and they were also treated with great kindness and respect. I can't say enough about this place, especially their new downstairs location.

Negative experience: My friend and I went in to get flash tattoos. We walked in, were greeted, and shown where the binder was for the flash tattoos. They told us to come up to the register when we were ready. My friend and I spent about 10 minutes or so trying to decide what we wanted. We finally pick something, and go up to the register. At this point they told us that we smelled like marijuana so they wouldn’t be tattooing us. I can understand this, however, why let us completely waste our time looking for a tattoo, and not even mention anything to us the entire time? We would have happily left and came back another time but the customer service we received was unfortunately not up to par. They could have told us when we first walked in. I don’t understand why they would tell us to come up to the register when we are ready, knowing full well they wouldn’t tattoo us.

Fantastic experience: Kory has done two of my piercings (2 on each ear) and has been so clear, professional, and thoughtful with both. I had to come in to reinsert one I knocked out and she was so generous and kind. Highly recommend

Negative experience: I was really excited to find a tattoo shop that had women working in it. But after getting two tattoos here I dont know how to feel the first one looked great but after healing the lines are disappearing and the second one looks like a kid drew it with wobbly lines like it was rushed through. Mt daughter also got a tattoo with roma numerals all of them are different sizes they dont match up at all. Im starting to think you just cant get a good tattoo in tucson

Positive experience: I love that it’s a nonprofit, but I was a bit disappointed ngl. I asked for a cactus tattoo—something custom. I wasn’t too specific about what I wanted, but I provided pictures of designs I liked. When I saw the artists’s rendering, I wasn’t crazy about it. I decided to go for it cause I wanted to give creative license. Anyways, I later discovered the design online. There are slight differences. I’m not suggesting that the artist was lazy—maybe the similarities were a coincidence—but I was hoping for something more unique. Also, I ended up paying an apprentice $350 for it. I think that was $50-100 over the expected/quoted range. I will say that it healed well and looks great!

Negative experience: I want to start by saying I was really excited to be going to a nonprofit for tattoo and piercings by and that they give to the community and help apprentice people etc. My experience was really not good and I have given it since June when I originally went to give this a lot of thought. This isn’t a knee jerk reaction to something. So my daughter, my friend and I all went I to get pierced together. My daughter got her second ear holes; my friend and I got forward helixes. The woman who pierced us was really nice and the place was clean. When I got home I noticed my piercing looked crooked and had thought it was just because it was a large piece of jewelry. After a few days and doing some research I realized it was very crooked so I called the piercer and asked for it to be reported. She agreed and had me take it out and come back a few days later. She repierced me with a smaller jewelry and I left thinking it was good. The next couple days I realized it was still crooked as I was looking at it digging into my ear. It was not perpendicular like it should be. I was frustrated and the front had ended up popping off so I decided to take it out and deal with it after a trip I had. It was about 4 was later I saw my friend and her piercing was just as crooked as mine. I had gone into another shop around that time and talked with them about my experience at Spark. They said it wasn’t even possible to pierce along the line where the piercer had put my piercings and proceeded to explain what should’ve been explained to me the first time. None of this was a part of my initial piercing. My friend’s piercing was redone at the new place as was mine. It was really clear to me that this was a huge training issue. I will not name the piercer because it is not her fault as much as it is the apprenticeship program that put her out on her own without having enough training to handle a basic situation like this. I also saw someone had posted a poor review here during that same time period and hope that they will provide more support to this piercer. She was a great person but needs more training. I tried to contact John, I believe, it’s in my notes somewhere. He never returned my call. There is also no easy way to get ahold of someone in charge of this place so take that as you will. I would never recommend this after my experience. I have heard that several people had also come to the other piercing shop from Spark to have their piercings fixed. Save your money for a more reputable place.

Fantastic experience: Went here first time yesterday Bryce did a tattoo for me I like how I was in a private room no interruptions from anyone he was very friendly he talks with you to get you comfortable he makes sure of what your wanting the lady at the check in desk very friendly the price was really good mine took about 30 minutes it was a good experience

Her talent is undeniable—but just as important, she creates a space that feels safe, relaxed, and welcoming. From the moment you walk in, she makes you feel completely at ease, and that’s not something you find everywhere. Her private setup is a huge bonus—it’s rare to find such an intimate and comfortable environment, and it makes a world of difference. Jen is kind, easy to talk to, incredibly skilled, and genuinely cares about her clients. I constantly get compliments on my tattoos, and I’m always proud to tell people where I got them. On top of that, her pricing is more than fair for the level of artistry and care she provides. The entire shop has an amazing energy. Negative experience: Very disappointed in the piercing I received. I got my septum done almost 4 weeks ago and it was SUPER crooked. They told me to come back in a month to get it redone. I went to a different shop to get a second opinion last week. They needed to remove it to let it heal because they said it would just migrate if I had it redone without letting it heal. The piercer was very nice and sweet but the piercing job was awful. I had a very lopsided piercing for 3 weeks. If I had been given the proper information I would have removed it right away and let it heal. Now I have to wait and go back in 6 weeks! The new shop was very baffled by what I explained the whole encounter and what happened and they said “Wow, those all sound like mistakes I would have made if I was new.” I’m very upset by all this because that’s $50 down the drain I won’t get back plus now another chunk of money I’m going to have to pay to get it redone somewhere else. Spark did offer to do it again for free but I’m not certain she will get it right as she didn’t clamp it even though I asked. Very disappointed. Tattoos have always been great…. That’s my 3rd piercing done WRONG by spark and I’m just upset because I know the money goes somewhere good but I didn’t want to donate $50 for free. Bummed I didn’t get what I paid for…..

Fantastic experience: I got a Daith piercing and I somehow made it fall out and they were able to get me right in unfortunately had to re pierce it 3 hours later and she was super nice about it and put a ring in instead of a bar. Amazing customer service

Fantastic experience: This non profit tattoo plus more shop helps out young tattooists and our Community. I've heard that other tattoo shops might not like the fact that the interns do flash all the time, but to me, it's a win win situation. So yes, I go to Spark, and also a few of the other shops in town. Always a good experience, and today I picked up some stickers, and will be back for one of the very cute Jean jacket that one of the artists adds embellishments to. ❤️

Negative experience: Do not get snakebites done here!! Went to this piercing shop a couple months back to get my snakebites done. The piercer used a BARBELL, and not a flat head to pierce me. A couple months later, and the jewelry is imbedding in my lip. I had to go to another shop to get it changed to the proper jewelry, and my lip is still so swollen because of an incompetent piercer who doesn’t know what they’re doing. Go somewhere else, please.

Positive experience: I love the premise of this collective and their commitment to community. Make sure if you have mobility issues and can't use stairs call ahead and set up an appointment for their alternate location. I attempted to have a walk in piercing, since per the employee I spoke to no appointment would need to be made, but when I got to the location I couldn't find the elevator. I called and asked where the elevator was only to be told there were only the stairs. I remarked that I wouldn't be going there then as I can't use stairs. The employee may not have known that there is a secondary site to even offer it during that conversation, I found it after combing their website because I couldn't believe that such a fantastic and inclusive group would intentionally exclude a community they actively support. I did end up going to a more accessible studio for my piercings. Anyway, long story short if you can't do stairs call ahead and ask for an appointment at the alternate site mentioned on their website

Fantastic experience: I got a cute little cat flash tattoo yesterday. It wasnt my 1st tattoo ever but it had been over 10yrs since my last one so I was feeling nervous. Due to the placement I had to reveal more of my body than expected so they offered pasties and/or to move to a different room that offered more privacy which I appreciated. I can be pretty talkative in general but especially when nervous so I know I talked my artist's ear off in that short time, thankfully he never made feel awkward or like he was annoyed by it. Overall great experience with friendly professional people.

Negative experience: Got a bigger flash tattoo done there. The lining was horrible, the tattoo was missing tons of pieces. When I went in weeks later for a touch up the artist who did it yelled at me and berated me. So rude, unprofessional, and horrible customer service. Never again will I step foot in that establishment.

Positive experience: 3 starts for the piercing side. I miss big russ. He was amazing. I went back to have jewelry changed out and the girl prior changed everything, but then the balls kept falling off. Went back a while later- they ignored my prior experience- and then did not acknowledge me waiting ( sat for the 30-45 mins after being told to wait) and had to remind them I was there. Here I am and my jewelry fell out of my ear again on multiple piercings. Its expensive too. Not going back for anymore jewelry as it seems either the balls or threads are defective ( rook, tragus). Big russ- I never had any issues. I also ensured they were screwed tight d/t prior experience so no, they were not “loose”. I just couldn't believe they forgot about me/ I WAS a regular. Its not they're fault the jewelry is defective (both tragus and rook- interesting) but they are significantly forgetful and more rude than ever- esp drama eyes when telling them i just purchased then i wanted an extra just in case and now my extra wont stop falling out- I loved coming here but after my past two experiences im done.

When I called in to ask about that, the lady who answered told me they don’t do walk ins for flash tattoos anymore. Please update your website to reflect this new change.

Fantastic experience: I've gotten a handful of flash tattoos and piercings here. They seem to always have apprentices doing flash tattoos so it's neat to meet different artists but the quality and experience can vary. But, everyone is always very friendly and timely and it's nice to support a great cause and feel like a part of the community!

Communication with the artist (Jena) was terrific, artist made everyone feel at ease, explained the process, and was super friendly. Fantastic experience: went in to get a little flash tattoo with some friends. the artist, tony, made everyone super comfortable, especially me, since this was my first tattoo. the bathroom was fine. not great, not awful, just fine. give my boy tony a raise, he deserves it.

Shout out to my piercer, Hannah, for being so cool. If you're looking for a little more privacy than what the typical open layout of a lot of tattoo/piercing places offers, you might like Spark Project. For example, I was taken to a private room that was shared by my piercer and just one other coworker.

Fantastic experience: I love this place! The tattoo artists are always so awesome to work with trained in all different abilities, whether it be for a flash sheet or a personalized to fit you. I have gone to them anytime I need tattoo therapy since 2018. My favorite parts of Spark Project Collective LLC have to be how clean their shop is and that they know how to make me comfortable straight away! I have recommended this place to so many of my friends and family. As well as took my dad for a matching tattoo in 2019. He was very against tattoos in general, but he was very impressed with them. Now he recommends! I recently went in for a flash tattoo that turned into a cover-up on a previous tattoo that was originally not done by Spark Project CollectiveLLC. But my tattoo artist was amazing and made it form the tattoo without having to go to much bigger. I was so impressed that you couldn't recognize the before. Please check it out!! I have never been disappointed once, in the 5 years of going there!!

Negative experience: Absolutely will never go back here nor will I ever recommend this place to anyone... I went in for snake bites.. The furat time they did the super crooked when i took pictures and asked if they could be redone the person said yes cause it was obvious how badly messed up they were... When i went back to get one re pierced not only did the do it wrong again... But she took it out let 8t close and kept trying to jam the piercing in and the had to get the needle and pierce it all over again.. It was just a big mess and after all that its still crooked and it was badly swollen and bruised... Its like they dont know what they're doing... Would never go back there again even if it was free...

Positive experience: I gave 3 stars because I had 3 experiences with varying quality. Visit 1: My first ever tattoo. My artist was Tony. It was a small flash tattoo with a small change that made it technically custom. It was $50 and my experience was great. He was kind, personable, clean, and it barely hurt. Visit 2: My second tattoo was a small wildflower on my spine. I was warned this could be a painful area but it was no big deal with a very cool and open guy who shared his story of becoming an artist after battling addiction. Good experience! Visit 3: Oh boy. Nope. I had Hunter for an artist, he seemed disengaged, unhappy, and didn't introduce himself. I got a flash tattoo on my wrist which is poorly applied with wobbly lines when you look closely. I have scheduled an appointment at another shop to get a coverup since it's in a very visible spot. I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed because I really enjoyed my first two experiences. Maybe he had a bad day? But I think he may have just been inexperienced artist who is learning to make smooth lines and isn't quite there yet.

Negative experience: Very unprofessional.. it is not the first but the second time that I go in and they don’t have any record of me for a tattoo appointment and instead of admitting fault or doing something to correct their mistake, they try to make up excuses. It is truly sad, will not be going there anymore. Also the piercer didn’t seem to like getting asked questions regarding piercings, she seemed annoyed, also very unprofessional.

Positive experience: The front desk is very unprofessional, I’ve had multiple tattoos from them in the past, but the last 2 times I’ve attempted to schedule an appt on Facebook messenger they failed to schedule the appt properly on their end which resulted in me showing up for my appt and being turned away due to them being booked. They can’t seem to schedule properly. I recommend calling to schedule an appt do not use Facebook.

Fantastic experience: I've been going here for years. This is the only place I go for my piercings and tattoos. Great staff and really talented. I've gotten many compliments on my tattoos and always refer them to here. They'll take really good care of you. I highly recommend you try them out if you're interested in a tattoo or piercing.

Negative experience: Very unprofessional. Very rude unfriendly refusing to work with people, unscheduling appointments without letting me know refusing to make appointments. Just a very disgusting, unprofessional amateur tattoo shop. They've lost my business. I will never come back.

Fantastic experience: We attended the Moon Market fair tonight-probably our 4th one. It was fabulous: Tarot card readings, chakra cleansing, birth chart readings, aura photography, beautiful jewelry and crafts for sale (for all budgets.) All of my favorite things from Sedona right here in Tucson. I highly recommend it. And Natalie is a truly gifted channeler, who gives great insight and messages. Check them (and Natalie) out!

Fantastic experience: A super cool place with affordable and VERY cool looking tattoos for their flash designs. Me and my partner spontaneously decided to get a flash tattoo today and we were able to walk in and get helped almost immediately. I got a bumble bee and she got a cat design and they were so cute! My artist was so kind and warm and made me feel so comfortable. I will be back to get more flash and custom designs! ♥️

Fantastic experience: This was my first ever tattoo, and Tony was amazing! We called ahead for appointments for red-level flash tattoos, and it was very comfortable and affordable. Tony was remarkably gentle and made the environment perfect. I wish I lived in Arizona to get more tattoos from him, and from this shop.
