I asked *mariana* I think was her name, she actually didn’t speak English but her tattoo ability will put her in a magazine one day. I asked her for a very basic tattoo on my hand and three hours later I have an absolute masterpiece that I could’ve never created myself. She really went absolutely INSANE. the whole gang here is really great!

I came in very nervous and unsure about getting a helix piercing but she walked and talked me through every step in so much detail and reassurance. She placed my daith pretty much painlessly and beautifully (it looks spectacular!!) and she was so honest and worked with me to decide that my old forward helix placement wasn't right so she really looks out for the best for her piercing clients!! Fantastic experience: Went in for nipple piercings last Tuesday and saw Danie. She was awesome with keeping me informed about what to expect and helping me stay positive when I was afraid. She took such time and care making sure that the placement would be spot on, shared some funny stories, made sure that I was comfortable with every step of the process when it was all said and done I ended up laughing during the piercings. Fantastic experience: I’m leaving this review two years later because I never got around to it but Brett absolutely knows what he’s doing. He’s great to talk to (especially about music), and his understanding of color is next level. When I first got the tattoo, I wasn’t sure how all the colors would look once they healed and aged. Two years later, it’s honestly aged even better than it looked at the start. The colors have held up beautifully, and I couldn’t be happier with it. Not to mention every single piercing I’ve had done here was flawless!

Negative experience: I had an appointment at 1pm and checked in. I had received text confirmation about the time. Then I waited over an hour and a half bc they forgot to have me slotted in as an appointment and had me down as a walk in. I checked at the front desk 3 times before they realized the issue.

Fantastic experience: Javi is the friendliest and most gentle piercer I’ve ever worked with. I did 4 cartilage piercings in one setting and barely felt a thing. He told me what he was doing every step of the way and also asked permission every time he needed to touch me (personally unnecessary, but I understand why and I think it’s great). I’m more nervous around new people than I am about getting pierced, but his calm, friendly voice made me more comfortable. I will definitely schedule future appointments with him :)

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience getting my frog eye tongue piercings removed here. Both ends were embedded, and I was honestly really nervous. Hooks (Dani) was calm, patient, and incredibly knowledgeable the entire time. They explained exactly what was happening, made sure I was comfortable, and handled a tricky situation with so much care and confidence. The removal was quick, clean, and way less scary than I expected. I never felt rushed, judged, or brushed off, just genuinely cared for. If you’re dealing with an embedded or irritated piercing and feel anxious about getting it taken out, I can’t recommend Hooks enough. Now I’m planning to get my next piercing from Hooks! Truly grateful for how kind and professional they were.

Fantastic experience: Today I had my back dermal removed by HOOKS and let me tell you she’s new Ohio but phenomenal! It was so quick and she was so nice. She was polite and talked me through every step. I’ll be coming to see her specifically this summer for my belly ring!

Negative experience: I have been here multiple times. This past experience went great until the piercing part. The front desk people are always so nice and helped to pick out jewelry. I went unsure what to get, decided to get my rook done. The wait was long this day but it was no biggy considering it just seemed like they had a huge amount of walk ins and appointments come in at one time. I went in with a piercer who I’ve never had before.. which was fine. But when he asked me to put my hair up he kept saying “grab scissors” which was okay the first time as a joke but repeating it three times made me uncomfortable. And then with the placement of the jewelry… he said “you can go look at it if you want, but it’s not going anywhere else..” I looked at it anyways. It’s my body, you know? Other than that it was normal stuff, he explained everything before he did it, stabbed me with the needle in my ear on accident and called it the “two for one special” and then asked to take a picture. Ok. I tipped like I normally do. Fast forward a week and a half later, half my ear is red and swollen and throbbing. I say screw it, I’m taking this out, the piercing was almost embedded in my ear! I pull it out, it’s the same size as my downsized eyebrow piercing! No wonder it’s about to be sucked up by my ear!! Whatever you do, don’t get pierced by the person who has two strands of hair sticking straight on the side on their head and bald the rest of the way. I’m sorry I don’t like to call out people and I can’t remember their name (but this description is unmistakable) but please I’ve had way more comfortable experiences with other piercers who work there. Don’t think I’ll be coming back unfortunately.

Fantastic experience: Shout out to Hooks!! I came in for a jewelry change for my septum. I’m a very anxious girl. I was very nervous that it would be painful but she was very patient & gentle with me. She explained everything well.

Negative experience: I just wanted to get a replacement ball for my nipple piercing. The person who helped me was not very nice. They assured me they didn't have the right ball for my bar without even letting me show them what I had, just wanting me to buy a whole new set of jewelry for $45. The place I go to back home just lets me look at everything they have and lets me buy the replacement balls for $1 each.

Fantastic experience: Rafael was wonderful with changing out my piercing and took time to carefully explain everything!! He was very friendly and I felt very comfortable with him and his professionalism.

Negative experience: The girl with the scar from a rejected bridge piercing had a slight attitude with me that I didn’t appreciate and I think was uncalled for. I came in wanting to get a piercing but soon realized that it was too expensive for me after looking at the jewelry so I went up to the front desk and said I was going to go somewhere else to get it done. She said “you could’ve told me, I was preparing the jewelry you picked out” I apologized but in my mind I was thinking at least I told someone! I could’ve just walked out. I can’t imagine that it’s that hard simply putting back the jewelry where you got it from, so I don’t know why she acted like it was such an inconvenience for her. She also said “I showed you cheaper options and you didn’t want them”…I am sorry that I am a bit picky about something that will be in my face for the next six months . She made me feel guilty for leaving even though I didn’t do anything wrong. I ended up going somewhere more in my price range got the piercing I wanted with jewelry I liked and where the customer service was much better.

Positive experience: So i will say staff is amazing my only problem was i got my nosed pierced here & my nose grew a bubble & i had to take it out so i do my piercings at another business but i do buy my jewelry & have em changed all from evolved but recently they started charging for jewelry changes but i am kinda salty that they never gave me a refund or offered to re pierce my nose or i would give them a 5⭐️ at least a 4 star but no matter what i will still come & support & give some of my business to evolved still have love for them Edit: Evolved reached out & offered to fix my piercing when my nose heals a little longer they really stayed in contact with me so that was awesome & as long as everything goes smoothly i will be back to update my review to a 5 star i was kinda mad about the jewelry change charge but i understand so i can’t be mad about that

Fantastic experience: As a Dad who was nervous to let my daughter get her nose pierced I can firmly say 100% all of my questions were answered Very thoughtfully and thoroughly! The entire team gave such a great experience for myself and my daughter. Highly recommend here for anyone else considering it.

Negative experience: First of all the BOGO deal is a rip off. The jewelry is way over priced and the whole place is essentially a money grab. I went in to get a double helix piercing and after looking at studs for a while, they said I was able to get pierced with hoops (which of course were $10+ each than the studs). I remember hearing you can’t get your cartilage pierced with hoops but they said it was fine so I trusted them. The piercing was done well for me and I was generally happy with it (besides the price, 170 on two piercing with a BOGO deal is insane) until I learned that I was not supposed to get them pierced with hoops due to the risk of not healing correctly or irritation/infection. I got second, third, and fourth opinions from actual reputable piercers, and did lots of research on my own, to find that it is certainly not advisable to get cartilage pierced with a hoop right away. I have since had many issues with irritation and piercing bumps despite staying on top of cleaning it. It was irresponsible for them to have pierced me with hoops. I just got the earrings changed for flat back studs, which should have been the recommendation from the beginning. Overall Evolved is an unethical business that genuinely only wants money out of you. Don’t be fooled by the five star reviews. Check Reddit if you’re curious. If you’re going for a simple lobe piercing, it should be fine, but I would recommend taking business elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: Kez was AMAZING!!! I reached out to the shop a few days before a trip to Ohio to see if they could squeeze me in. I wanted something small. This was my first tattoo. Kez reached out to me with her availability. From the moment I walked it she made me feel comfortable. She went over the whole process. She played music I liked during during session. She talked to me through the session. And kept convo going so it wasnt awkward silence. If I was ever back in the area and planned another tattoo I would most definitely go back to Kez!! The price was not bad either!! Thanks Kez!!!

Positive experience: I got my septum pierced. It was quick and the piercer was very knowledgeable. He never told me his name but I also didn’t ask so oh well. It wasn’t painless like I was told by other people. I almost feel like it would’ve made it a little easier on me if he had used a clamp. But I’m not sure since I’m not a piercer lol Also the jewelry seemed semi overpriced. overall it was a good, quick, mildly painful experience lol I would go back.

Fantastic experience: My boyfriend and I just got pierced by Claire, I got my double lobes and he got his septum. She was super nice and knowledgeable and put us at ease immediately. Fantastic experience: Javier was amazing and very professional. I had my nostril pierced and he placed it perfectly! Atmosphere is clean and spacious. Parking can be a little challenging.

Negative experience: Went in to get a bridge piercing and it was completely crooked! Then, upon going back, they offered for me to talk to the piercing manager to figure out a solution- and the manager was the one who messed it up in the first place!!!! She only offered to re-pierce it (which I don't want because I don't trust her to do it right a second time if she couldn't the first time) and refused to give any kind of refund. Now I'll have to pay somewhere else to redo it. She also gave me attitude and tried to say that I could have shifted the piercing and made it crooked myself... insane. Evolved used to be so reliable and I used to go there for all my piercings and tattoos but they have gone extremely downhill recently. Support other local artists!

Fantastic experience: Came in for 4 piercings, 3 helix and 1 Tragus. Javier was my piercer and he was absolutely amazing. I was definitely nervous and he was able to not only calm my nerves but reassure me the entire process! Javi is definitely my go to person for now on, if your going for any piercing I recommend requesting him ! Thank you so much Javier for everything!!

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Kez highly enough. Professional, extremely talented and totally nailed what I was aiming for. I asked Kez to put their own spin on some images I sent and I'm more than thrilled with the results.

Positive experience: Online booking is very unorganized and said they sent them messages even though I never recieved them. I feel they do that on purpose to get me to call and come in before they would quote you a price. At that point I felt trapped because my wife wanted the tattoo so badly. The artist Chris was great but the prices are WAY too high and will never go back. Over $400 for 11 letters and a few small hearts. Not worth it, but the wife's happy I guess. Will just need a second job to pay for it.

Fantastic experience: I got my first ink Sunday. A guest artist from Mexico named Brian did my baby son’s handprint over my heart. He put a lot of time into making it perfect, as if it mattered just as much to him as it did for me. I was impressed when I saw it finished. It’s so much better than similar tattoos I saw online. The accuracy to the original in terms of detail and shading are amazing. It’s exactly what I wanted, as if my boy’s hand was pressed onto an inkpad and pressed to my chest. Fantastic experience: Claire is my favorite piercer, ever! I have many, many piercings on both ears & recently had my nose pierced. I had held off for decades for fear that I would experience the horrible issues our youngest daughter had, (NOT at Evolved!) including infection & a keloid that forced her to remove it. However, I trust Claire & the piercing procedure & healing were absolutely wonderful. She new exactly where to place it & prepared me- very well. I adore her skills & would (and have) recommend her to anyone thinking of getting something beautiful done to enhance their life!

Fantastic experience: Super fast on my walk-in request! I was sticker shocked by the price at first but my artist was extremely diligent and captured every minute detail far beyond my expectations. I can definitely appreciate high quality work costing a little more. Will be back!

Fantastic experience: I put my faith and trust into Rob’s hands to deliver an A+ tattoo, which was of paramount importance from a sentimental standpoint. He proved to be the complete package when it comes to his craft; from his customer service interaction, stenciling, delicate tattooing, all the way through the aftercare consultation. I flew over from NYC hoping to connect with a tattoo artist artist that I could trust, and boy did I ever. I’ll definitely be flying back with the wife and maybe some other clients to get inked up by Rob. Appreciate the work king

Fantastic experience: Raphael did a fantastic job with my piercing! A bit of trouble with the hoop for a nostril piercing but it was patient and did well communicating to me even though English is not his first language. It looks great!!

Fantastic experience: I went to get my nostril pierced today and I have to say, this was by far the best experience I’ve had at a body mod place. From the people doing the piercings to the way you’re taken care of once you’re inside, they treat you with top notch respect and kindness which is rare to find these days. Although being a person who’s personally very scared of needles, my piercer made sure to reassure me repeatedly and get my nerves down by having fun conversation! They really are pros at what they do and they can likely guess how you’re feeling just off subtle face expressions. While I forget the name of my piercer, he did an amazingly clean and swift job with my piercing. Further than this, after the procedure was done and I was dealing with a fight or flight reaction from my procedure, he’d sat with me, given me an ice pack and water, and talked to me about hobbies and the sort to distract me until I felt better. I felt so warmly welcomed when I was there and I could not have asked for a better experience!!! Much thanks to the staff specifically off of the State Street location :)

Fantastic experience: Stopped in for a walk-in tattoo and piercing. Javi was my piercer and did an excellent job making sure I knew what to expect, answered any questions I had, and gave me a full explanation on piercing aftercare & healing. I had Rob as my tattoo artist, and he did a fantastic job making sure I felt comfortable, talked me through the tattoo, and like Javi, told me what to expect in terms of tattoo healing and aftercare. Both my tattoo and my piercing came out great, the shop was beautiful and clean, and all of the staff was amazing! I will definitely recommend Evolved to everyone going forward and I look forward to coming back!

Negative experience: I’ve always had a great experience going there. The people are great and their work/products are usually very good. I’d say it’s a little more on the pricey side at times, but you do get what you pay for I guess so I’d say it’s worth it. Update: I’m sure what happened to the quality of this place but man has they gone downhill. The older woman at the front desk is incredibly rude and apparently they charge $10 for jewelry changes now for jewelry bought there. I also already had a piece of jewelry in my nose and just needed it back to shape, Something that would’ve taken all of five seconds from another pair of hands. They’ve always been overpriced as a shop in general, but damn is that a scam. Jewelry changes should be free And if the piercers feel of they need to charge $10 for them on top of the minimum $60 piercing fee with jewelry they should probably work for a better company. I’ve seen a ton of controversy Surrounding evolved body art and I can honestly say I will not ever go back.

Positive experience: Staff was very friendly. My daughter went for a piecing. We went on a Saturday and everything was packed. The only thing I would suggest would be to clearly explain the entire process. I kind of figured out the jewelry needed to go through the autoclave first but nobody clarified that. We picked out the jewelry and then kind of sat for another hour. I also assumed the person that had us pick it out would be doing the piercing. All little things that kept me from giving them a five. Would recommend for sure.

Positive experience: My appointment was at 5:40, but I wasn’t pierced until 6:20. The woman who helped me pick out my jewelry was not helpful and I felt rushed. My piercer was extremely nice and respectful. She made my experience very positive. My piercings look great!

Fantastic experience: Awesome shop with great artists! This is where I go to get any tattoos or piercings done for myself and where I took my kid to get an earring. I just got a tattoo done by Maria Lubiana and it looks awesome! Everything there is well kept and clean and the people are welcoming and create an environment where I was comfortable bringing my kids for earrings. If you are looking for body art, this is the place to get it.

Fantastic experience: My wife and I decided to get a couples tattoo for our 20th wedding anniversary. We went to Evolved Body Art, located at 1980 N High St. Columbus, OH 43201, due to it being close by, and a previous positive experience in 2013 when getting daughter’s ears pierced. We showed up around 1:30PM on a Sunday, and were happily greeted by Artist Mike Kerin, who had been outside getting some fresh air. Mike inquired what we were looking to do, as their piercers were not at this location today, and Mike and his associate had appointments starting in the next 10-15 minutes. Mike was attentive while we spoke, and provided us a reasonable timeframe later in the day where he would be able to assist us as a walk-in, and get our tattoos done. When we provided Mike our design idea, he was amazing at trying to make sure the items I wanted and my wife wanted were both represented in the mockup of our tattoo. After seeing the first draft, we provided Mike with one change we’d like to make. Mike again made sure the design was what we wanted after making the addition to the design. Soon after our approval, we were being tattooed. In terms of cleanliness, Evolved Body Art was immaculate. Mike, his co-workers, and ownership clearly all take pride in ensuring the shop was clean. This level of cleanliness carried over to Mike’s work area. Mike cleaned everything before our tattoos, and in between my wife getting hers, and I getting mine, all surfaces were cleaned with antibacterial wipes, all tattoo guns we’re cleaned and new, sealed tattooing needles were opened. While we were being tattooed, we shared personal stories of success, struggle, loss, and love. If I knew we hadn’t just met Mike, I would have thought we’d known each other for years. He was observant of what these new tattoos meant to us, and asked about other tattoos we had. At no time did Mike make us feel dismissed, judged, or looked down upon. After the tattoos were done, we were completely impressed with Mike’s skill, and talent, as both our pieces turned out better than we thought they would. Mike was absolutely amazing and we will be having more work done by him, and would strongly recommend him to others who are looking to have tattoo work done. The cost for our tattoos was in the ball-park of other shops we had gotten quotes from in the surrounding area while researching. I would even say Mike’s quoted price was slightly lower than other quotes. We’d been trying to plan to get these tattoos done since mid 2024. Many of the other artists we spoke with had 2-6 month waiting lists to be able to get on their calendar. Evolved Body Art however, was the ONLY shop we went in that still had scheduled time/openings for walk-ins. This was my first EVER experience with Evolved Body Art. I can say it has been a long while since I have been this impressed with a business, their staff, and the level of service delivered. If you are considering a tattoo or body art, please consider Evolved Body Art. Thanks Mike for an amazing experience and helping Amy and I celebrate 20 years of marriage with our new tattoos. Fantastic experience: I’m a 75 y. o. guy who has put of getting a tattoo my whole life. Me, my daughters and my 2 grand daughters decided to get a tattoo of a dragonfly because my late wife loved dragonflys. Canada, an awesome artist did all 5 and did a really great job. We are all delighted with the results.
