Fantastic experience: Absolutely lovely studio with very talented artists. Spent two days getting my forearm done by Martin, and besides being over the moon about the quality and speed of the work (seriously the man is a machine to get as much done in that time as he did with the amount of detail it contained), I also had a great time. Everyone was friendly and there was lots of chat, banter and singing through the day between artists and clients alike. Definitely going here again.

Fantastic experience: My partner took our daughter to Mavericks on the off chance they could get my daughters ears pierced, Adele managed to fit her in (even though we hadn’t booked) she was brilliant, put my daughter at ease. Clearly explained the process and the after care, my daughter is extremely pleased. We are happy customers and highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely brilliant! I walked in to book a small memorial piece in honour of my late cat Harley, and Chloe was available thanks to a no-show.. so I got my new tatt straight away! Lovely friendly skater/surfy vibe studio, clean, welcoming... Total opposite of my old local Croydon studio but equally brilliant, if not better! The tatt is one of my smaller pieces but means as just much as the largest of them. Thanks to everyone, and people, if you can't make your appointment, do them the favour of ringing and cancelling?! Update 2026: I've since been back twice for further pieces by Hannah, as has my husband, and the work is fantastic. Still the friendliest staff and the loveliest studio

Fantastic experience: Cannot recommend Mavericks’s enough, went in for a wrist wrap around tattoo was super anxious before, however once in the shop I instantly relaxed it’s a super chilled yet professional vibe. Lots of drinks on offer in their fridge and not overpriced a real mix of artists who all have their own style but there’s a artist for everyone, not to forget their lovely piercer Adele and Nic who is insane in all things eyelashes !!

Fantastic experience: Best tattoo studio in the south, every single staff member is super friendly, there is a real family vibe between them and it really helps ease any fear or anxiety when getting tattooed or pierced. The owners Ash & Martin have really put their all into the shop and it shines through in not only their unreal work but all of Mavericks’s as a whole!!

Fantastic experience: Mavericks has a different kind of tattoo studio vibe - I love coming in here and always find a warming and welcoming atmosphere. The team are a lovely and fun bunch of people with strong personalities, and they’re extremely specialised in their tattoo/piercing/beauty areas. The art that comes out of this studio is incredible and I always recommend Mavericks. Amazing communication, very inclusive…they cater to everyone and are welcoming to everyone. You never feel pushed out, and you’ll always be in a very calm and chilled environment. So proud of everything the team has achieved!!!

Fantastic experience: I’ve had all my tattoos done at mavericks so far by Maddy. she’s absolutely brilliant at her job and I’m absolutely in love with my all the art she has created for me. The atmosphere in the shop is lovely and everyone is warm and friendly which adds to such a positive experience for me. Fantastic experience: Had my third lobes and belly button pierced today, but sorry - I didn’t catch the piercer’s name! But she was so incredibly welcoming and friendly. I’m a little anxious with needles and she calmed me down and was so lovely, and when I told her I felt woozy, she had me sorted instantly with a lolly, fan and some water. I honestly couldn’t recommend enough. When I need any other piercing needs I would 100% come back even though I’m not local!! thank you so much :)

Fantastic experience: Really lovely chill vibe and I got to watch a film whilst getting tattooed. It took away my anxiety of how I was going to keep myself entertained. Fantastic experience: Maddie and the Maverick team are amazing, you’re made to feel super welcome from the moment you walk through the door, there’s great banter and always a good film on! I’ve had a few bits done and we’ve always discussed beforehand what and where I want it… it’s then created and in person we look at any adjustments and placement, nothing is ever too much trouble even going to the trouble of finding change when I couldn’t pay by card for parking! A wonderful bunch of artists who all complement each other with their differing styles, there’s literally something for everyone!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming to Maddy for my leg tattoos for a while now and she is FAB. The designs are always perfect, but she’s happy to make tweaks until you are happy, resize, add extra bits to get the perfect fit. The atmosphere in the studio is warm and friendly, definitely not intimidating in any way. I’ll keep coming back here for as long as I have space to tattoo! Also Adele did piercings for me and my daughter and was very knowledgeable and made my daughter (13) feel calm and prepared, faultless! See you guys soon

Madi as an artist is fantastic and as a tattoo artist is gentle and efficient and very very kind. 100/10 for everything about this place. Update for 2025: continue to be the best tattoo studio I've ever been to, I now travel from Chichester to go here cause its just that good.

Fantastic experience: Had a wonderful experience with Adele, the ear piercer today. She gave my lovely niece her first ever piercings, sorted my sister out with two lower lobe piercings in each ear plus a nose stud and finally did my mid-helix for me. A true professional with a calm and caring nature. I highly recommend her services

Fantastic experience: I had part of a tattoo that I had made and asked Ash to modify a bit to make it a bit more unique, I arrived on the day for my day session - The entire atmosphere seemed very relaxed through the whole day and everyone seemed to get on very well. I have a tendency to ask a fair amount of questions and this was no exception - Ash seemed to be all too happy to answer them before we started, during and after and answered questions about the aftercare very promptly. I will be going back later in the year for the rest of the tattoo so will update this review when it is finished but for now I will keep this up as 5/5 stars.

Fantastic experience: I got my daith repierced by Adele a couple weeks back, she’s always been so lovely and welcoming towards me when i first went to Adele for piercings a few years ago. I fully trust Adele and her judgement, and when my sister got her ears pierced after my daith Adele was so lovely !! (Steady recovery from both mine and my sisters piercings so far ! Definitely recommend )

Fantastic experience: Piercings: I’ve had many piercings over the past 10 years and Adele by far is my favourite piercer. She always has such a warm and welcoming atmosphere and looks out for your best interests (with piercing jewellery and anatomy). I couldn’t recommend her enough to anyone looking to get pierced whether it’s for a first lobe set or an ear curation!

Fantastic experience: Adele is the only piercer I'll go to! She's extremely talented and creates beautiful ear curations. She always makes sure the client is happy with the placement and jewellery and is very gentle in the piercing process, making sure you're completely comfortable all the way through and walks you through each step. Fantastic experience: Got my first tattoo here from Martin Moore, was a two day piece that took around 7h first day and another 9h on the second. Beyond happy with how it turned out, Martin is a phenomenal artist and was really supportive throughout the whole process. The atmosphere is super friendly and cosy, they have TVs on where they put movies or series and everyone gets along really well. All in all an extremely enjoyable first experience, will definitely return when I decide to extend the sleeve!

Fantastic experience: I've had 5 small tattoos and 1 forearm tattoo done at Mavericks. I have another booked which will be my biggest yet. The great thing about the team here is they are so kind and talented I've only ever wanted to get more tattoos due to the positive experience. I feel really comfortable here and they have always put me at ease, done a fantastic job and inspired me for bigger pieces. I've had tattoos from Hannah, Mary and Martin and had great experiences with them all. I know my tattoos are small but I also know a lot of care went into them regardless of the size and that means a lot to me.

Fantastic experience: I have visited the studio several times for work on my sleeve with Kate....who is fantastic. We have numerous laughs and the studio is always buzzing.....excuse the pun. From watching documentaries to disney films with added disney trivia from Martin, I've always felt welcome. Studio is also well maintained and quirky in its design. The monster fridge is a great bonus.

Fantastic experience: Incredibly talented studio, many different styles by the many artists working our of mavericks. Everyone is super friendly and eager to give great advice and help you in any way they can. I had some serious health issues and Martin the owner was more than happy to accommodate a free cancellation, he even gave me the option to get my deposit back or for them to hold it, i chose the latter as i really wanted the tattoo and a year later i had this incredible piece done. He also booked me in nice and quickly to have it finished off in a few weeks time. I cant stress enough how good this studio is, always make you feel at home, super chilled atmosphere and some amazing singing from Martin too!

Fantastic experience: This was my first experience with getting a tattoo and I can say that I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Martin was understanding and talked me through the entire process, giving me input into the design that he created, and was extremely friendly and professional. The atmosphere in the studio was fun and light hearted, with all of the artists having a great friendship. I can't wait to book in for my next one!

Fantastic experience: Ash was recommended to me and after seeing his work I was keen to book in with him. I’ve since had two day sessions with Ash - he’s not only extremely talented but is also a top bloke and a good laugh. The whole studio is a great place to be and all the artists seem to be close friends, which makes for a really welcoming atmosphere. I couldn’t recommend Mavericks and Ash high enough.

Fantastic experience: Mavericks Tattoo is great! I have been a few times to get tattooed by the amazingly talented George (whitedeertattoo). Super friendly people! I spent my first session chatting and laughing, really felt at ease. You can watch movies while getting tattooed! which is really cool, a great distraction! Fantastic experience: I had originally been tattooed by Maddie at another studio and has such a great experience I knew that I wanted something else by her and was thrilled to find her at Maverick! I sent her a bit of an unusual brief and her design was exactly what I had had in my head! The whole experience was lovely - super chilled and even came away with some fab book recommendations too! Fantastic experience: I’ve been to Mavericks for 2 different tattoos, 1 by hannah and 1 by Mary, both are absolutely amazing!! they both captured exactly what I wanted! The tattoo by Hannah was a spine tattoo of a snake and the tattoo by Mary was a beautiful Poppy on side with my daughter’s name as the stem. The studio its self was super chilled and very light and airy, the vibe was awesome! I will definitely return for any other tattoos i decide to get!

They also are great at making you feel comfortable and at ease during all the stages of the tattoo process.
