Fantastic experience: I went to granny’s attic for my first tattoo, I was very nervous considering I’ve never had one before but I was greeted with warmth and friendliness. I was tattooed by Mhairi who was amazing in every aspect from the start to the end of my appointment. Mhairi was patient, especially when it came to me being indecisive with the stencil and moving it around. They made me feel comfortable and calm and I would definitely come back to Mhairi in the future for any new tattoos. Thank you so much! I adore my new tattoos.

Fantastic experience: Since 2019 I’ve had the almost all of my tattoo’s from a few of the artists, both past and present, here; as well as all of my piercings. At this point I’d almost feel rude going anywhere else. The staff here are some of the friendliest and most knowledgeable people I have ever been (willingly) stabbed by. I cannot recommend Granny’s Attic enough. It’s a real hidden gem filled with some insanely talented people.

Negative experience: Had my tragus pierced followed by a daith the next day. My tragus was pierced rather wonky, worth mentioning. When piercing my daith the piercer (manager) had lost the piercing hole (which accidents happen but both my piercings aren’t really great unfortunately) she was trying to push the taper for a while into my ear making it really really sore and it eventually went in the other way as the other was swollen obviously. It’s been a while and I’m still having complications from this piercing despite my care for it, prompting my review as I don’t want others to experience the same. I have over 30+ piercings everywhere and have never had an experience so tedious and painful as this. I believe the amount of trauma to the area of the pushing has messed up my ear. I do not enjoy making poor reviews especially when the lady was nice but it’s been 6-7 months and despite the pain I went through I may need to go get this taken out.

Fantastic experience: Getting tattooed by sarah was such a lovely lovely experience !!!!! She was so lovely and Im just so happy with how the tattoo came out !!! Its been a dream to get a tattoo like this and it came out better than I ever could have imagined its so beautiful !!!! Sarah made sure I was comfortable the whole time and even kept my food and drinks refrigerated for me !! i'm so so thankful for this experience and I'd love to come back in the future !! I had a long travel but it was so so worth every second im so happy !!

Negative experience: Had my Tragus pierced 4 weeks ago and had nothing but problems so I went to my local piercers who advised I have a infection and now need antibiotics and she informed me that the bar that was used was incorrect as it was too small and woudnt allow for any swelling and the bar was completely the wrong type for this piercing as it needed to be a screw on.

Fantastic experience: Kit was absolutely incredible. They were dedicated, they were calming and they smashed my first tattoo out the park. Came up with a design that I love dearly. Edit: came back a few months later and got a match to the set so you can see fresh vs healed

Negative experience: Keeps giving me jewlery that’s too small, this is the 3rd time I’ve recived jewlery from Grannys that was too small and this time was the final straw, the first time was a stud to ring, 2nd was a septum jewlery after getting it pierced, and now my tongue bar downsize, the ball came off and I spent 2hrs trying to get the original bar back in. I will not be returning

Fantastic experience: My sister and I got our second lobes done with Saph and she was amazing. Absolutely lovely, full of knowledge, piercing placement was great and she got the job done swiftly whilst ensuring we were both comfortable - will absolutely be returning to be pierced by her again in the future. All the kit was brand new and we watched her sanitise the station and take the equipment out of the packaging. The rest of the staff were so kind and knowledgeable as well.

Fantastic experience: There are so many aspects of Granny’s Attic that makes it my favourite place to be. I got my first tattoo there, getting a specific custom design. I got a response very quickly from the best suited artist for my request. Mhairi managed to put my exact ideas into art and exceeded all expectations. I was very nervous before hand, but as soon as I went past the slightly sketchy entrance I felt the warmth and positivity welcoming me in and soothing all anxious thoughts. Everyone I interacted with instantly made me feel comfortable which is not a typical thing for me. At no point did I feel awkward or shy as they were a perfect balance of professional and friendly. Getting my tattoo I found myself feeling so at ease I almost fell asleep with a lady gremlin staring into my soul and listening to rants about social injustice. The tattoo healed beautifully, and I find myself constantly wanting to get more just for the experience. I’ve since gotten 2 more from Mhairi’s gorgeous flash designs and planning on getting as many as my bank account allows me. Definitely going to get a piercing at some point when I’m feeling braver. I recommend coming here for anyone is shy or uncertain about getting their first tattoos and piercings or just want to have a deep chat with Woody Harrelson looking down upon you whilst you’re getting stabbed in the arm.

Fantastic experience: Best piercing studio. Welcoming, knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Saph did a great job. Piercings healed quickly and without any trouble at all and jewelry changes were quick and pain free

Negative experience: I have had my belly pierced twice here in the space of 1.5 years and both times they have rejected. I went to another Piercing shop today and they told me the woman who did it pierced it incorrectly and not deep enough, which is the reason to why it rejected as my body couldn’t take it. I do not recommend this place at all!!

Fantastic experience: Sarah is absolutely fantastic! I wanted to cover up a previous tatt that spanned a larger expanse of skin and Sarah couldn't have made the experience better. We had three sessions plus a touch up, all of which Sarah handled with patience, kindness and skill. Her designs are gorgeous and if you haven't checked out her work go do it now and book in a session!! Will definitely be going back for future tattoos <3

Fantastic experience: Sarah did an excellent job adapting this piece from a few ideas for me. I've got about 100 hours or so of ink and this is one of my best for colour and certainly healed best of any I've had. It's also a cover up and I don't notice what's beneath. Sarah herself is lovely and very good at what she does, can't recommend enough and will be back in the future. Main session mid Dec, touch ups start Feb And photo start March to show fully healed detail.

Fantastic experience: Great piercings, great tattoos, great atmosphere! Most recently had the pleasure of being pierced by @saphometal and they are amazing! Took time to answer my many questions, made me feel comfortable, and I’m very happy with the results. I’ve had jewellery changes and consultations too and again never felt rushed into a decision and was given the opportunity to talk through my options and think about it before deciding. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I've been to Granny's for piercings and tattoos and each visit was pleasant. Piercings are done in a separate room to tattoos. Everyone there has always been friendly and professional. Being vegan is a huge bonus for me as I don't have to worry about what they use.

Fantastic experience: Cannot recommend Granny’s Attic enough and especially their amazing piercer Kade. I popped in to discuss piercings without an appointment. The team were so brilliant and I ended up having a “curated ear” appointment. I discussed what piercings and jewellery I had in mind and Kade sketched on the shapes on my ear so I could see how it all looked before committing to ordering the jewellery. Left with 2 piercings to get the healing started and will go back in a few weeks to change over to the Junipurr jewellery when it arrives in. Lovely team, I think they genuinely love what they do!

Fantastic experience: I had a tattoo done by Mhairi and they were so friendly and kind she took her time while stencilling making sure i loved it and was happy to do even the smallest change, she was very considerate of my comfortability , the whole place had such a friendly atmosphere.

Negative experience: Kade pierced my daith here and i’ve had pretty non-stop problems with it since it was done. I had it checked by another piercer at a different place and they confirmed it was pierced far too shallow. Not to mention he failed to mention to me how he was a junior piercer until after I was pierced, and this wouldn’t have been a problem if there was someone monitoring him, but there wasn’t. Would recommend Electrik Ink over granny’s attic.

Fantastic experience: i came in for a nose piercing and was super nervous, i was walked through the process step by step which helped to ease my nerves. didn't even feel the needle go in, it was over in seconds. everyone was so so nice and i just wish i could rate it bonus points!!☺️☺️

Fantastic experience: Such lovely staff. I got a piercing at another shop and asked if I could get my piercing changed due to swelling and the lady that helped me at Granny's Attic was so lovely. I was worried no one would help me if I didn't get the piercing here, but the lady told me I did exactly the right thing and if I have any future problems, it doesn't matter if I got the piercing elsewhere, I am always welcome. She also reassured me that I hadn't done anything wrong with the piercing and made sure I wasn't being hurt etc. My piercing feels so much better now and I was so grateful for how friend friendly and helpful the staff were throughout the whole process !

Fantastic experience: I have been to maddie so many times for a variety of piercings and jewellery changes and she is always so welcoming and lovely :) She removed my two micro dermals on my cheek for me and I made the mistake of looking at videos of how they get removed so I was really anxious about it but maddie is so fast and sooo gentle that it hurt so so much less then I was expecting. She really is the best and has so much experience.

Fantastic experience: One of the best tattoo parlours in Guildford. The team are awesome and bring their personalities together create solid vibes. I've had a couple of tattoos here and my partner has also had piercings done and every time we get great service at an affordable price. You can have a cup of tea whilst you wait and they also offer a loyalty card which I'm slowly working my way through. The way it generally works is you send your art or brief through to the main email address and an artist gets in touch to arrange the tattoo, then you pay a small deposit to book your session. The first time I went in with art already decided, the second time I sent a load of different ideas and they designed something just for me. They also provide you with all the information on tattoo aftercare, and you can buy some tattoo goo for £5 there but they also tell you where else to find alternative products. The place is very well kept with really high standards of cleanliness whilst still maintaining a cosy and welcoming atmosphere. Highly reccomend this as a place for anyone whether it's your first or 30th tattoo!

Fantastic experience: Got my helix pierced here 2 months ago and it's healing really well. I have very sensitive ears and usually take a very long time to heal piercings, so it goes to show that the jewellery is good quality and it was done properly. The Piercer was so nice, I loved chatting to them and it made the whole process more enjoyable. It definitely felt like they cared about me feeling comfortable and being happy with the piercing, unlike some rushed experiences I've had at other tattoo studios. Thank you so much to the piercer, I'll be back for the other ear very soon! Update: my helix healed perfectly and I had my other ear done 3 months ago, which has also just about healed! Both Kade and Maddie are great piercers who make the experience enjoyable and comfortable. I think there may be another piercer but I haven't had a piercing from them yet. I also buy my replacement jewelry from them as again the quality is great. The jewellery is in a sterile bag which you don't get at a jewellers. Honestly, sometimes you just find YOUR piercers. I'm moving away for a year but I'll come and get piercings here when I come to visit, it wouldn't make sense for me to go anywhere else!

Fantastic experience: A little more ink into the back of the hand - the whole experience was calm to the point of serenity! Made most welcome upon arrival - greeted with the biggest smile and intelligent conversation while waiting to meet the artist - Sarah presented herself accordingly and I was immediately at ease - there appears no room for ego in this wonderful, personable tattoo studio. Fantastic experience: Review update, as I have now had five tattoos from Granny's Attic: I booked in with Alexine for my first tattoo. Right from the first email she helped talk through and realise my idea and after a consultation, came up with a design even better than what I had in my head and sketches. She incorporated two of my favourite video game characters (Tifa Lockheart and Sheena Fujibayashi) and Su Metal into an incredible design. Five years later, it still looks great. Alexine is a brilliant artist, very professional and I felt safe. I had my second, third and fourth tattoos with Kit Reeve. Kit really loved my ideas, which was a fun crossover of Plankton from Spongebob Squarepants holding Cloud from FF7's buster sword. We've since done a waraxe from Skyrim and a samurai cat. It was really reassuring when they respected my ideas and how they were having fun doing it. They are also incredibly professional and friendly. They asked me how I was doing to make sure I was ok, again I felt like I was in a very safe space, which is what you want when you're getting a tattoo - they hurt! My most recent tattoo was a butterfree by Sarah aka Lil Tater Tats. Sarah is an exceptional artist and made sure I was as comfortable as possible during the tattoo (inner bicep so not a pleasant place to get a tattoo). I love the tattoo, which has a very personal meaning. The studio itself is very clean, everyone is relaxed and I really recommend booking yourself in here for a tattoo. All artists I've had a piece from were very considerate and worked hard on getting the design right. It's a cool place to get tattooed. Also, they make a nice cup of tea, which I cannot tell you enough is so needed when you're in the chair.

The writing one especially she took such care and time over and you can see the detail in the writing where it's made to look like brush strokes and how difficult all the tiny individual lines would have been to do but she smashed it. Fantastic experience: Ive had a piercing from Skye and also in the middle of a full body tattoo from Sarah. Both experiences have been lovely, everyone there is extremely friendly and kind, and both piercing and tattoo have been done cleanly, and efficiently. After this piece I'm definitely going back for tattoos and would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a place to get tattooed or pierced. Also, if you go into the tattoo section, look up.

Fantastic experience: i first went here because they were the only close piercing shop i could find that did dermals but maddie and all the other piercers are so lovely i’ve gone back into my piercing era and can’t stop getting more!! honestly they're so lovely and i’ve been to several piercers over the years and as lovely as they all were, granny’s attic is definitely my favourite! it always makes my day when i pop in <3

Fantastic experience: I went to have some additional ear piercings after reading some of the reviews, and I’m pleased to say, the reviews are accurate and I would highly recommend going here. Maddie pierced my ears (I had 3 in the same ear) and she did an exceptional job. Not only do they look great, I was pleasantly surprised at how little it hurt. Very reasonably priced and honestly, I wouldn’t go anywhere else now.

Fantastic experience: I recently visited Granny's Attic for a daith piercing, which was done by the lovely Maddie. Despite the unfortunate outcome of my piercing getting infected and ultimately rejected by my body, I must acknowledge the exceptional service I received during my visit.

Fantastic experience: Went here for help after getting a bad helix piercing at a different place, Skye was so lovely and helpful. In the end the piercing couldn’t be save and we had to take it out, but I’m definitely coming back here to get all of my next piercings!

Fantastic experience: I got my second lobe piercing and my helix done by Saph and it went really well! It didn’t hurt nearly as much as a thought it would and after having one conversation with Saph I felt so much more confident and I am very happy with the results!

Fantastic experience: I went today to get an earring fixed, and I can’t sing high enough praise. First of all, the actual locale is so beautiful, it’s a cottage-core dream. Just immaculate vibes. And it’s not just the store that’s nice, the piercers that helped me were so kind and friendly, I’ve never felt more comfortable inside a piercing shop in my life. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Fantastic experience: I went here today and I had a great experience! The decor music made the atmosphere feel very comforting, which definitely helps with the pain. I got angel fang piercings and they turned out great. Saph did my piercing, and they were really nice by asking if I was doing okay before and after the piercing. She walked me through the whole process and helped me to feel more comfortable. Sorry I'm not very good at writing, but everyone there was really kind and very talented with what they do.

Both piercings I’ve had done have been great and very reasonably priced. Everything is very clean and the atmosphere is so warm and friendly. I can’t wait to go back to get more in 2024 :))

Fantastic experience: Got in touch with Grannys Attic Tattoo Parlour about a very important tattoo I wanted done and Sophie was extremely understanding and helpful right through the process. Put together a beautiful piece for me which I love. Would highly recommend, everyone I met there was great.

Fantastic experience: A lovely, welcoming place full of talented artists! I was greeted at the top of the stairs and provided with a chair, which was appreciated as I walk with a stick and have mobility problems. My tattoo artist Mhairi was reassuring and friendly, I wasn't nervous at all. Thank you so much for being wonderful, I will definitely be back for another tattoo!

Fantastic experience: We were walk-in's that day and myself and my friend both got our ears pierced. We were both nervious but were seen by Kade who was wonderful from start to finish! He totally put us at ease! He was great at chatting to distract us from what was happening, very professional and just all round wonderful! I would 100% go back if I was to have anything else done.

Positive experience: Had my tattoo done by Mhairi and she did such an amazing job that I’m coming back again to get a second one done! Everyone in the studio is really nice and friendly, but also very professional! I’ve already recommended the studio to my friends, and couldn’t recommend it enough!

Fantastic experience: Excellent. I like to get random tattoos on a whim and was lucky enough to get a walk-in slot with Marija. I have over ten tattoos that are from all over the place and it's by far my favourite and the best one. It was a hassle free and fun experience, I got lots of advice on getting it to heal properly and spoke with a bunch of other customers, we all agreed it's the best place for skin-scribblin' in Guildford. Would, have and will continue to recommend Grannies Attic! Stay the same!

Fantastic experience: Excellent experience being pierced by Kade. I felt really at home and relaxed in this queer friendly shop. Very professional service and welcoming environment especially given I was getting an intimate piercing.

Negative experience: Me and 2 friends wanted to get 3 matching simple black tattoos. It started off well, Alexine replied the same day and she was prepared to do it but couldn't fit us in so she passed me to her colleague Kit. Kit took 4 days to reply saying that the design had too much detail and it needs to be bigger. I agreed to simplify the tattoo but keep the size. I then heard nothing for 4 more days so I asked for an update and still nothing. I then went to another tattoo shop and got them done. I get a reply from Kit 9 days later saying she was on annual leave. I'm not sure how the other artists are but me and my friends had a very bad first impression from this place.

Fantastic experience: i got a piercing a few months ago from Skye here and it was one of the best piercing experiences i've had, the staff are so friendly and make you feel so comfortable and my piercing has healed really well. highly reccomend

Fantastic experience: I came into the attic wanting a nostril piercing, but not feeling totally confident as I felt squeamish about a needle going through my nose! But Saph took me on and told me there was nothing to worry about. They made the experience relaxing and made me feel at home. Not to mention I loved the piercing!! Can’t recommend enough <3

Fantastic experience: I had my seconds (lobes) pierced here by Maddie. She was absolutely lovely and had such a welcoming vibe. Walked through everything so clearly and was so precise getting the perfect place for the piercing to go. So pleased!!
