However, it wouldn’t be possible for jewellery supplied by us to turn green. We exclusively use implant-grade titanium, which does not contain nickel or copper and cannot cause green discolouration. All of our jewellery is fully certified to ensure it meets implant-grade standards.

If jewellery has been anodised, please note that anodising is a surface treatment and, with poor aftercare or prolonged exposure to certain products or environments, the colour can wear over time. This does not affect the quality or safety of the jewellery itself.

We have also checked our records and cannot find any record of you visiting our studio, which has left us quite confused. Additionally, this review has been left a considerable time after the alleged visit, making it difficult for us to investigate further.

Our pricing reflects the current market and the cost of responsibly sourced, high-quality materials — we cannot sell jewellery for less than what we pay for it.

Had you contacted us directly, we would have been more than happy to troubleshoot any concerns or resolve any issues. We’re always open to communication and are disappointed this wasn’t raised with us at the time.

Just to clarify a few things — every artist works differently. They each have their own pace, skill level, and pricing structure. So while you’re used to paying £250–£280 elsewhere, it’s important to understand that you’re not comparing like for like. Quality, experience, and attention to detail come at a cost — and as the saying goes, if you pay cheap, you pay twice.

When we spoke on the phone, you were telling us how long the tattoo should take — which, respectfully, isn’t how it works. Our artists assess the piece and decide how much time is needed based on their expertise, not someone else’s timeline.

You were informed that there was availability, but we clearly explained that bookings cannot be held without a deposit. You assured us you’d be taking the appointment, but then decided the price wasn’t right for you — which is fine, of course. But it’s also a prime example of exactly why we don’t hold slots without a deposit.

We hope you find an artist who meets your price expectations, though we’d suggest making sure the quality matches too.

Unfortunately, on the day of your booking, the studio was busier than anticipated and we ran out of a key product called tapers—a crucial tool used in safe and precise piercings, especially in sensitive areas like the tongue. At Manhattan Ink, we never cut corners or compromise on safety, and using the proper tools is non-negotiable for any piercing procedure.

Our piercer, who is self-employed, made the difficult decision to cancel the appointment for your safety. It’s never something we take lightly, and we understand how frustrating it can be. We did offer to go ahead with the other piercing you were interested in, but we respect your decision not to proceed.

While unexpected situations like this are sometimes out of our control, we always aim to handle them transparently and with our clients’ best interests in mind. We truly hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future and give you the experience you deserve.
