Negative experience: No care for customers/people. Avoid at all costs.

Fantastic experience: Got a tattoo done by Rick. Quick, skilled, and easy to deal with. He fixed up an old piece and was happy to add another one on the day. Really fair pricing and I’m stoked with how it turned out!

Negative experience: They advertise with clearly AI-generated images, including their "Shinto Tattoo Gallery" advertisement image. It speaks volumes of both the quality of artists and the quality of the studio that they wont spend a couple hundred dollars on actual art by actual artists to advertise their studio. Do not recommend. Stop using terrible AI slop. See attached image for proof of AI usage - no continuity of letters in the background, nonsensical folds in the clothing etc.

Fantastic experience: I took my daughter (ASD level 2) in for her new ink... She is obsessed lol and can't talk about anything else. Mark was fantastic at putting her at ease and made her experience such a positive one and we can't thank you enough!! Mark's line work is beautiful and we can't wait to see you to get more - and will happily recommend you to anyone!!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going here since 2023 and I couldn’t recommend the place enough. I’ve had about 14 tattoos done by Teya and every time I get complimented for my tattoos, I immediately say that Teya from Shinto did it. I highly recommend tire if you are thinking about getting a tattoo because she is very kind, very caring, very nurturing and she’s just overwhelmingly a good person to get tattooed by Plus her style is amazing and I like having her have creative liberty with my designs because what I have in my head is something but then Teya brings it up to a new level and I’m so proud to be wearing her art my body. I also think everyone there is so wonderful too.

Fantastic experience: i’ve had all 10 of my tattoos done by teya at shinto! i couldn’t recommend a better person, she’s so kind, patient and always makes the effort to make me comfortable and happy :) if anyone asks me where to get their tats done, i recommend teya with confidence and they always come back saying she was amazing. i couldn’t thank her enough for everything! such a beautiful and kind soul <3

Negative experience: had a horrible experience here, had an appointment scheduled with the artist Dil, was scheduled for 11AM on a saturday i rock up to my appointment and he isnt there, the receptionist tells me he’s sick. drove 90 minutes each way to get to this place all to be told my appointment no longer is going ahead, and you couldn’t even let me know in advance ? basically wasted my time and money all for nothing because you’re too inconsiderate to let me know. horrible customer service

Negative experience: Horrible experience today at the shop, with the artist Dil. Very emotional and disrespectful artist. Booked directly thru Dil via social network, was made out to believe I was getting a tattoo etc, got to the shop and was basically told it can’t be done . Even tho in the messages it clearly states what I wanted and the artist agreeing it will be cool to do. Artist then starts to get disrespectful and upset towards me when I’m trying to just communicate my concerns, never once did I change my demeanor through this conversation mind you. If it wasn’t for the public space , it would have been a much different situation. Will never be coming back and hope this review gets across to the right people .

Fantastic experience: Just got a Brisbane Lions tattoo done by Ash yesterday, and it is very well detailed! I love the tatt, and shoutouts go to Ash and the guys for an amazing job!

Fantastic experience: Booked via Facebook Messenger for my first tattoo, was booked in with Teya and she made the experience a breeze, and the tattoo came up awesome. Have since returned for a few more and can’t recommend Teya and the team there enough - super welcoming and great vibes all around!

Negative experience: I had booked appointment. On the day of an appointment I was sent an email hour before that can I come hour later (not a phone call, an email). I was already left since the studio was 40min away. But went there hour later like they asked. Tattoo artist wasn't there and I was asked to wait. 20 minutes went by and I asked what's going on. Receptionist said he's coming. Another 15minutes went by and I asked what's happening. They said he's been called so should be coming. 5 minutes later other guy came and said that the guy who was supposed to do the tattoo isn't coming. They could've asked before to reschedule or something and not just pushing forward with an hour. And then stichin me up. Afterwards I heard I wasn't the first they have done this and probably not the last. So unprofessional. Worst customer service. Big joke.

Negative experience: I really like my tattoo but he was rough and didn’t shave the area before hand.

Negative experience: My issue wasn’t with my artist, she is lovely and did an amazing job, we were chatting like we always do and another artist yelled at us to stop talking and was so rude that he made me cry. If he had an issue with the talking he should have just said so instead of doing so so awfully that it made me nearly walk out mid session. I don’t know the name of the rude artist but he really needs to get his act together!!!

Fantastic experience: I had my first tattoo today at Shinto. The staff were lovely and welcoming. Teya did my tattoo. It was of my late mum’s handwriting, from a 20+ year old birthday card, and it was important to me that the tattoo match my mum’s handwriting. It turned out perfectly. I asked for a couple of spots to be filled in, where the pen ink had faded on the original card, and she matched it perfectly. I’m over the moon with the results. I’ll be back soon, without hesitation. Thank you, Shinto team!

Fantastic experience: Shinto Tattoo is awesome!! Already have 2 done by Dane in 2 months, have another one booked in 2 weeks and some more down the track. Totally worth 3 hours return trip.

The receptionist wasn't so friendly, and I felt like I was bothering her when I was asking basic questions. Overall it's a really good place and I'm glad I got my first one done here.

Fantastic experience: Been to Shinto many times, and always leave very impressed with the place. Everyone is really friendly and the tattooists are talented.

Negative experience: Booked in two weeks ago, felt that they just couldn't be bothered doing the tattoo that day. Booked in a week later, only to be told they need to move my appointment. Didn't even bother. Useless!

Negative experience: Got my first tattoo here, wasn't the best outline or shading and when I texted and emailed about making another appointment to fix it because I was unhappy with it, and was ignored. And reception made me feel unwelcomed.

Fantastic experience: Zac is the man. He designed a tattoo of one of my favorite Simpsons episodes. He's also a really nice dude. I highly recommend him

Negative experience: I have received two excellent tattoos from this place but unfortunately due to miscommunication and rudeness from the receptionist from my last visit, I’m not going back. I was quoted an extortionate amount for a smallish tattoo which another tattooist quoted me $150 cheaper. The receptionist needs to improve her attitude and how she speaks to the clients, because I definitely did not feel welcome at all and it’s such a bad look for your studio, being welcomed by someone who doesn’t seem to care about good customer service.

Positive experience: Easy to book, usually a 2-3 month wait time. Got a follow up phone call reminding me of the appointment the day before. On the day, Cam was running a bit late for the appointment, but his ink work was great. While not finished I'm really happy with the work he did. Recommended.
