Fantastic experience: Ainsley and the staff at Mad Catz Tattoo were friendly and attentive to all of their customers with a professional, hygienic studio catering to all needs of their customers. Ainsley showed exceptional professionalism and her true natural talent to her art. She kept her customers comfortable, communicating throughout and had a great knowledge of industry theory and health and safety. Her design and art spoke volumes with distinctive, demonstrated passion in her art. Great experience and would highly recommend.

Negative experience: My brother got me a $200 voucher for Mad Cats for my birthday, which I was really excited about since I’d never been there before and wanted to get some tattoos done. I sent through a few designs for a quote and was told it would be around $350–$450 depending on sizing and detail. That felt a bit high, so I decided to just go ahead with a couple of small hand tattoos to try and stay within the voucher. When I got there, I showed them exactly what I wanted and was quoted $250. The work itself is done really well, so no complaints there, but I was honestly pretty shocked at the price for what was done. The whole process took about 20 minutes including setup. I’ve attached photos of the tattoos I got (circled, as I already had some on my hands). I guess I’m just a bit disappointed and wanted to share my experience so others have an idea of pricing there… or maybe I just underestimated how much it would cost.

She was absolutely so welcoming and designed my piece that meant alot to me so beautifully! The whole experience from start to finish was so good! I loved how my special piece came out She did a fantastic job! She also spent the time with me to go through aftercare and the importance of it. I will certainly be back again. Thank you!

Negative experience: Had two large pieces by one artist neither of them turned out how I’d hoped they would. There was also a muck up with the booking and when I arrived was told that they’d only be able to do the outline as she had an event & to come to have the rest completed in two weeks. Was charged for a ‘cover up’ and the old piece was still highly visible even though it was light and I was told it’d be an easy cover up. When I asked for a touch up I was told I’d need to pay again and she said she’d told me that it wouldn’t be possible to cover it which she DIDN’T. I had another small piece done by a different artist here and it turned out horribly, it is blown out and looks nothing like the design I asked for. It appears that it was done far too deep. Take your money elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: Dayne Barber is the best artist! The tattoo studio space is huge and inviting, I love the interior design. I highly recommend checking out Mad Catz for your next tattoo.

Negative experience: Booked an appointment 3 weeks ago to have my 6 yr olds ears pierced, we were advised to bring our own earrings and that was all. Arrived early, got told we have to wait 20 minutes, no worries.... Then got told I needed my daughters birth certificate, no mention of this at the time of the booking, so come back at 3.30pm with the certificate, i was then told i could not use the earrings i was told to bring, i have to use theirs, and the piercer wasn't even aware of our appointment. I drove home with a crying 6 yr old who did not get her ears done. We have a booking elsewhere.

Negative experience: Extremely disappointed with the service my partner and I received today. Booked 8 weeks ago as it was the next free Saturday available. Drove over an hour to get there to find out double book tried passing us off to another artist that did not feel confident with our design. So left with no tattoo and a wasted day. What made it worse ask for refund as we were the ones messed around costing us money for our 2 hour drive and waste of a whole day and no response after reading message. I even sent message to confirmed was booked. So DISSPOINTED!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely unreal experience . Got a throat piece by Roger and changed the layout last second on him it. He was super accommodating and actually listened to what I wanted to achieve. After navigating around my older tattoos, my new addition doesn't look out of place and looks vibrant and bright. Negative experience: I went in there and showed them a picture of a wolf's head and want it to look realistic. They say no problem, so we start designing and print it out afterwards and it looks like what I want in the paper but when the tattoo was done it looks nothing like it. When I asked him do you think it looks the same as in the phone or paper? He said yes It was my first tattoo and I'm very disappointed and I feel bad for my self for going at this place. The teeth of the wolf and the fur and the details are just wrong and he said it looks the same. I was speechless
