The studio has a friendly vibe and it’s apparent from the start that the artists there take their work and their craft very seriously. Barbara was incredible! She was able to take my vision and piece it together into an incredible tattoo. She asked numerous times if I was happy with the design and placement before proceeding, which made it very easy to share my thoughts and never once made it feel like I was asking for too much. She made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. Her attention to detail is insane. Everyone who has seen my tattoo has been blown away by the level of detail that she was able to apply to the shading and the crispness of the fine line work. I have already referred her to several friends and will continue to shout her praises to anyone that is looking to get work done. The tattoo looks amazing and she encouraged me throughout the experience to voice my opinion and make as many changes as I need. She was enthusiastic and seemed to really love what she does. Everyone else in the studio was also kind and welcoming. Barbara was great with communicating cost before the tattoo. This was my first experience with her and I’m just really glad I picked her.

Time flew by and the atmosphere was very comfortable. He took some took some time to explain certain techniques he was using to younger artists as well which was cool to hear and see. If your looking for realism or anything detailed, Andrew is the guy to see.

Everyone in the studio was welcoming and friendly, not in a forced way but genuinely good people who make you feel comfortable right away. The overall vibe of the shop is relaxed, positive, and professional all at the same time which is exactly what you want when you are trusting people with permanent work. It is very clear that cleanliness, quality, and customer experience are top priorities here. Whether you are getting your first tattoo or you are heavily tattooed already, this is the kind of place where you can feel confident you are in good hands. She walked us through the whole process and made sure our daughter was comfortable the entire time. Thank you, Sarah. Will absolutely recommend for piercings.

Expérience négative: I like the tattoo and I’m happy with the final result, but the overall experience was extremely frustrating and left me feeling disrespected. The shop environment was exhausting. The neighboring artist, who is supposed to be a mentor and professional, constantly swore, used vulgar language, trash-talked other artists and companies, and openly said she doesn’t care about customer service. Being in that environment the whole session was uncomfortable. My experience with my artist was fine until the end. We were chatting and laughing while taking photos after the tattoo, but the tone shifted when we got to pricing. The session went far over the originally quoted hours, and my pregnant wife had to leave once everyone else was gone. If the artist felt uncomfortable being alone with a man, she could have asked for someone to stay or told us. I feel like this situation is being framed differently because I’m a man. The real issue was pricing miscommunication. I was quoted around $500 for four spiders, but only two were completed. When $480 was mentioned, I was confused, not disrespectful. I wanted to clarify the math and ask what the next session would cost. After going over everything, the total came to $380, which matched the original discussion. Just because the work is finished doesn’t mean the price can be arbitrarily increased. After I asked questions calmly, the artist told my wife she felt “cornered” and “intimidated.” This is completely unfair. I am shy and don’t usually speak up, and I only asked questions to understand the price. Questioning pricing, especially when the work wasn’t fully completed, is not disrespectful. The tattoo itself is good, but the unprofessional shop environment, overcharging attempt, and being mischaracterized for asking reasonable questions left me feeling extremely disrespected. I cannot recommend this experience.

Ruby’s Tattoo located in Barrie is so worth the one hour drive from Toronto and I had a great experience overall. Expérience fantastique: I went to see Danii for a coverup tattoo. After extensive searching and a positive consult with her, I decided she was the one. Her friendly welcoming vibe made me comfortable from the start. She was open and honest about everything from start to finish. It was an emotionally sensitive tattoo to coverup up and she did it with so much respect. I can now look at my arm and not see a prior artists mistakes (late partners writing gone wrong) but I see a beautiful peice of art that Danii created for me. The shop is so stylish and clean and Brooklyn is kind, friendly and professional. She clearly takes pride in her work. I was accommodated as a person with a connective tissue disorder without a second thought or any questions asked - my comfort mattered! That was so nice. The vibes are always immaculate it’s a very safe and welcoming environment - something that can be challenging to find in the world of tattoos. The artists all produce phenomenal work but having only personal experience with Danii I truly cannot recommend her enough. She did my chest piece which is easily my most complimented piece that I have & most recently did a pet portrait for me of my soul dog. The pet portrait piece was something I had in mind for a number of years now but was nervous to commit to an artist as realism can be tricky and I wanted it to be perfect. Not only did Danii do just that but she did a fantastic job at walking me through the design asking me what I liked/if I wanted to change anything and really took the time to make sure the piece was exactly how I wanted it. If you’re looking for an artist/shop that prioritizes the comfort and well being of their clients look no further than Danii & Ruby Tattoo!

Expérience fantastique: The only person I trust these days to tattoo me is Andrew Batten. He’s clear and concise on what the plan is, his work is top notch every time and the conversations help take your mind off of the annoying parts of a tattoo. For anyone to leave a one star review because they disagree with someone’s social media posts doesn’t grasp the concept of a review. You’re reviewing their work, if you haven’t had any work from them done…you don’t get to leave an op-ed piece because you disagree with their personal opinions. Basing your opinions off of his social media posts would infer you’re following him or even worse creeping on his social media. Which comes with a very simple resolution…stop following and/or creeping. You’ve supported this shop and are now tarnishing the shop as a whole because of one instance that has nothing to do with the work they do and then hide behind an anonymous comment. Ruby rose has been a pillar of this community for quite some time and Andrew is a part of that community. Disagree with his opinions, fine but his work speaks for itself and at the end of the day that’s what business is about.

Expérience fantastique: Andrew at Ruby Tattoo Studio is an absolute pro. The guy’s got serious talent — you can tell right away he actually cares about the art, not just cranking out tattoos. His lines are cleaner than my kitchen after a visit from my mother-in-law, and his creativity somehow makes your half-baked idea look like it belongs in a gallery. The studio vibe is great too — spotless, friendly, and zero ego. Andrew’s easygoing and funny, the kind of person who makes the whole process way more enjoyable (which is saying something when needles are involved). If you want an artist who’s insanely skilled, down-to-earth, and actually listens, go see Andrew. Just be prepared — you might leave already planning your next one.

Expérience fantastique: I was reading some of the reviews here and I am very troubled by a review given by someone who is anonymous, someone who has never gave a review any where else who clearly has a personal problem with an artist named Andrew. I’ve been seeing Andrew for years, I’ve got hours after hours of work done with Andrew. When I first met him he was just an artist to me but over time became a friend, because I respect who he is as a human being, puts his kids first, the big kind heart he has, super friendly , very funny and always a blast to be around and lastly ALWAYS PROFESSIONAL. Everyone has a freedom of speech but I do know this for a fact he has friends who are gay and also has friends of color as well so clearly that review is because of a personal issue and sad they would come on here and make things up. On another note .. fantastic amazing artist who has vision and very creative. Wish I had him do all my work but has done 80% of my work now and my body is 85% covered in tattoos

Expérience fantastique: I’ve had the privilege of knowing andrew for years and just remember he is a human being and does have the right to express how he feels, he also does support the communities that aren’t mentioned in the bad comments and he is openly the most solid person I’ve met in a long time and would recommend ruby ay any point of time to get a tattoo. Next time you go in have a conversation with him and you’ll soon realize the negative comments will wash away.

Expérience négative: I have been following and going to Ruby Tattoo Studio for years. Never had a bad experience and all the artists have been fantastic to work with. That is, until the merger with Ink+Opal happened. Prior to the merge, Ruby prided itself on being open, inclusive, and welcoming to all people. Since the merge, a certain artist has ensured that, that does not exist anymore. I wouldn't recommend anyone going and supporting Ruby as long as this artist is a member of the studio. Andrew has consistently made comments, or posts that contradicts the open, inclusive, and welcoming branding of the studio. The first post I noticed was one trashing and bad-mouthing Trans and other members of LGBTQ+, when there are other artists who are a part of this identity as well as a large group of clients. The next was a story post about how fine line artists are trash, when once again a good majority of the other artists specialize or frequently do fine line tattoos. But today's post is what has pushed me to stop biting my tongue and make a public review. Andrew posted a story today that equivalates East Indian people as cockroaches. This is unacceptable. Everything he puts online reflects on the studio and all the other artists who are a part of the studio. Until Andrew is removed I would not be comfortable in ever attending the studio or supporting them in any way. People can absolutely express their thoughts and opinions, but that does not allow them to avoid the consequences of those opinions. So if you are a member of LGBTQ+, a person of colour, or someone who likes fine line tattoos, I would recommend finding a different studio for your needs, one that is actually open, inclusive, and welcoming.

Expérience négative: Booked online 2 weeks prior to appointment and was turned away from the artist as she was too busy doing a touchup with another customer. The front desk staff were trying to fix the situation but it all felt very immature and unprofessional. After being disappointed we were able to get a walk in appt with perfect image at the georgian mall, they provided us with great customer service and an artist that cared.

Since then I'm pretty confident I've seen Danii for 20 odd tattoos or something...I can't stop! She's so meticulous while being super personable. Every idea I brought her she brought it to life, especially those where I gave some loose plans and let her design something for me! The detail is beyond excellent, not only have I received soooo many compliments or questions I was also featured in a fan promotion mostly because of her work!

After my wife had such a positive experience with her in 2022, I took the plunge and got my first tattoo at the tender age of 49. I started with a small piece on my forearm that has since grown into a complete forearm sleeve, along with a large tribal design on my upper arm/shoulder. So, how much can I possibly gush about Barbara? Well…lots! Don’t be fooled by her three years of experience – Barbara is the real deal. In addition to her obvious talent and a growing portfolio of beautiful, clean work, Barbara goes the extra mile to ensure you’re 100% satisfied during each step of the process – from design, to placement, to the tattooing itself, to aftercare and touch-ups (if needed). And her attention to detail extends to safety and cleanliness, so I have zero reservations about sitting in Barbara’s chair or referring family and friends. And on top of all that, Barbara is an absolute delight, and she makes even the most gruelling sessions a truly fun and memorable experience. This past week, I had my first session with Barbara since her move to Ruby Tattoo Studio. I was struck by the welcoming atmosphere, both in terms of the staff and artists I met and in the bright, clean, and open studio space. And it was wonderful to see Barbara thriving in her new ‘habitat’! And if that’s not enough to convince you to connect with Barbara, I should also mention that my drive to her previous studio was roughly 25 minutes…and now the drive to Barrie is two hours (each way). But I can honestly say it’s well worth every second of the trip. I don’t think I could recommend Barbara any more enthusiastically. Expérience fantastique: After following Ruby Tattoo studio for abit, my daughter and I decided to take the plunge and get our first tattoos. In honour of our grandmother Iris. After some research my daughter decided Barb would be the best fit for us, and she nailed it! The Tattoo turned out amazing and the experience was awesome. The shop itself is so cute and well designed, as well as the staff are all beyond friendly and even offered water bottles! Hayley did an incredible job with the cover up and was so kind and welcoming, not only to me but my best friend! They made sure she was comfortable and brought her a chair to sit right beside me! 10/10 experience I WILL be coming back!!!

Expérience fantastique: I’ve been following ruby tattoo studio now for a few years, always wanting to get a tattoo, but never knowing what exactly I wanted or where to get it. As I was scrolling through instagram one day, I saw a post telling me an artist had some new flash, so I looked through the pics and saw the one. Even though it was a flash piece, it does have a lot of meaning to me. I emailed Aruna hoping that I could snag the beautiful blue jay, and I did. She was so awesome and professional in our email exchanges. I was nervous leading up to the appointment, and I expressed my concerns and butterflies, she responded so quickly calming my nerves and reassuring me that everything would turn out well. During the appointment, I brought some comfort items, not really knowing what to expect, I barely used any of them. I brought headphones thinking I’ll listen to music; I didn’t touch them. We chatted the whole appointment. 10/10 I would recommend her and the studio to anyone in the market. I am over the moon about my blue jay

The staff were very friendly and courteous, the studio is clean and well kept and the atmosphere is alternative but welcoming. I was referred to Lancey through a friend and went in for a back tattoo. Lancey produced an amazing tattoo based on my suggestions and desired art style and I couldn't be happier. Due to the size of the tattoo, I will be going back in a few weeks for coloring and absolutely look forward to my next sitting with Lancey. I strongly recommend Ruby Tattoo Studio!
