Expérience négative: My wife and i have had a good experience at this shop before. Nice artists and great tattoos. The only reason for this bad review is that it's nearly impossible to contact the shop to get more scheduled. Seems like there are many other reviews saying the same, so I hope they change whatever is causing this disorganization and lack of communication. If they aren't accepting appointments, a simple no would be nice. Instead, we are held in communication limbo, constantly being told that our information will be passed on and never hearing anything back. We finally just gave up. Good luck if you're trying to book here!

Expérience négative: I wish I did not have to write this but I have tried to contact them privately- I have been coming here for about 8 years, artists here have done a whole sleeve, half sleeve and a thigh piece for me but my latest experience has left a bad taste. I booked with the artist privately via email and agreed upon a date, paid a deposit and showed up on that day only to find out I was not on her calendar after waiting at the shop for 2hrs. I took the day off work and made the drive downtown, paid for parking. I understand scheduling errors happen and I was more than happy to reschedule. But after 2 weeks of no communication from the artist or the shop I am left without my tattoo, a new appointment or my deposit. Very disappointing to say the least

Aside of her incredible skill, Paula is super kind and thoughtful, she answered all of my post-appointment questions during the healing process and made sure I was 100% satisfied. She's really friendly and accommodating. We collaborated over email and came up with a custom design that I liked. We finalized some details of the design on the day of the appointment and she finished the piece efficiently. It was my first tattoo, and she will be my bar to compare future artists. 10/10 will come back to her.

I received a custom design, was more than happy with what he came up with, and his style is very abstract and scratchy which fit what I envisioned perfectly! Clean studio space, friendly staff, professional work, would recommend!

Expérience négative: I was very excited to come to this tattoo studio last weekend after getting a previous tattoo in 2017. Although after leaving and reflecting on the experience I am deeply disappointed and would not recommend this tattoo studio. When I sent in an inquiry into the email I was paired with a tattoo artists that would best suit my tattoo placement and design. The next day when I arrived for my tattoo the artist “did not receive confirmation” of my appointment (this was not my fault and the fault of the studio as I received email confirmation) and was not available for my appointment and I was placed with another artist in the spot that was not specialized in the design or work that I was looking for and made a joke out of doing my tattoo. I was also not provided the solution of when the artist I was “best suited”and matched with would be available to do my tattoo. During the entirety of my appointment (less than 30minutes) I was discouraged in getting my tattoo, was told that it was not a good decision and the artist upon finishing abruptly said “I think we’re done here” and was not confident nor asked if I was happy with the result. Less than 4 days later my tattoo is fading on my skin after I followed all after care instructions. I was charged 120$ plus tax, paid in cash and was not thanked or acknowledged for the tip that I left. I also had to pay an ATM Fee. I would also like to add I was not told the price of the tattoo or that they only accepted cash before my appointment when communicating via email. This was quite honestly a waste of my money and time, I am not happy with the result and would strongly encourage going to another tattoo studio where you are appreciated and the artists actually take an interest and care and take pride in their work and want to have their clients leave happy and satisfied. I would not recommend and am deeply disappointed by this experience.

Expérience fantastique: Worked with Dima for a cover up -- super well done job, can't even tell it is a cover up! Really detail oriented, answered all my questions and followed up with the healing process. Thanks Dima!!

Expérience négative: They ask for deposit and then don't add it to your total. Scam. I got a 1 inch tattoo that took less than an hour and they charged $300....when i questioned tjrm they insisted there was no mistakes. These are not tattoo artists they are scam artists.

Expérience fantastique: Traveled from Ottawa to Toronto for a concert at the end of June and figured I should try out a local shop while I was visiting, and they did not disappoint! Shoutout to Paul for helping with the finalized design, and thanks to the rest of the staff for being so friendly and accommodating! Cheers! :)

From the first meeting, Filip truly understood what I wanted, and went the extra mile to ensure my "conceptualized family crest," was as authentic as possible, while still having fun and taking artistic liberties. When I say he went the extra mile, I mean he spent his own time researching my surname to truly understand the assignment. The piece turned out amazing, and I'm honored to be wearing it for the rest of my life. Filip worked like a dog, going for 10.5 hours straight. He was punctual with the appointment time, and was super easy to get along with. I will definitely be getting another tattoo from him in the future. 10/10, would recommend!

During the tattoo he powered through an extremely long session and did an outstanding job with the amount of detail he can put into a tattoo. His black and grey realism work is top notch! Expérience fantastique: Recently got a tattoo here from Angel (rising.angels.ink) and it was great ♡ She's committed to making sure you love your tattoo and more than happy to educate & address any questions or concerns you may have about UV Ink. She also has a super light hand and it was possibly one of the least painful tat I've ever gotten (and I have over a dozen). I highly recommend her as an artist, but have also gotten work done at Golden Iron from a few different artists (Reg and Guesting) over the years and always had a positive experience! (Sorry 4 no pic cause the UV is impossible to photograph )

Expérience fantastique: I traveled from Ottawa to Toronto a week ago to sit in Angel's chair. I hadn't seen/come across work similar to theirs before and I was stoked that they had a flash piece that I wanted. They were very meticulous in their cleaning which I appreciated coming from a medical field. I got stress balls to hold onto and my favorite music was playing. They made me feel incredibly comfortable. And I couldn't have felt safer, more at ease. I have received countless compliments on the tattoo since. I'm very happy with how it turned out and with my choice of artist! Thank you so much Angel!

The first and second UV tattoos in what will be many more to come in this new nicer place. She was so great with collaborating with me and giving me advice on what would look good. She was efficient, set up meticulously and made me feel super comfortable. Most importantly, she did an amazing job on both tattoos. The black hole was done with such patience and focus. I was genuinely impressed and can’t wait to get many more tattoos by her.

I came in pretty open with just a theme and location in mind and she worked with me to create a design that fit what I wanted and flowed well with my other tattoos. She really took the time to get the design perfect and was very open to any changes I wanted to make and gave me plenty of time to be sure it was perfect. She took breaks as needed and all of the application was as painless as possible. Would definitely recommend getting a tattoo by her!

Expérience négative: Took a long time and the line work was uneven and thicker and thinner in some spots. Lines that were supposed to be straight were crooked. Artist, Nathalee, was sweet though Update: contacted Golden Iron after my tattoo and told them of my concerns. They were very kind, responded super quick, and gave me a full refund plus offered to fix it at a reduced rate in the future. 10/10 customer service!

Katie is kind, patient, professional, and exceptionally talented — I’m already thinking about the next piece I would like her to do for me. I would recommend Katie to anyone looking for wildlife realism, especially if they are nervous about getting a tattoo. Her calm and sweet demeanour will help you feel at ease right away. To top it all off there is a dog at the studio who is amazing at giving cuddles and kisses. Overall an amazing experience and will definitely be going back for more.

Expérience fantastique: Second tattoo and am SUPER happy with it. Friendly staff, spotless place, everything was really clearly explained. Got tattooed by Egi who is a ROCKSTAR. Patient, kind and really collaborative artist. And fun! She makes sure you walk out happy with the new piece of you. Lines were perfect.

Expérience positive: Phenomenal time for my first tattoo. Artist came by and discussed our design ideas, then went over them with us and adjusted size and picked font. Great conversation the whole time. 100% would recommend anyone to Lisa anytime, any day. Thanks again so much! EDIT: I feel like I need to add that this place is expensive. I got my tattoo done within an hour and was charged $200 for it. It was a very messy minimalist design and wasn't expecting it to be over $100, however they asked for double that amount, and I don't feel it was warranted. I don't hold the artist responsible, as she still made the whole experience enjoyable, but knowing it was my first tattoo, I didn't receive a set of instructions on what to do after getting it, which isn't a big deal because of the internet, but still should've been addressed. While it only took roughly an hour of work, I'd say that a good portion of that time was spent waiting for the computer to load the design and font placement, which, in a place that charges $200/hr for a tattoo, should have a videocard in it's computer to process graphics faster. Would go back to see Lisa again for sure, as she's a wonderful human, but won't be going back to a Golden Iron parlor anytime soon.

Expérience positive: Pros: Lisa was so awesome! Great person to work with and overall wonderful conversation through the process. Total impulse tattoo on trip to Toronto so appreciated taking us in! Capone is the best greeter <3 very clean place as well. Cons: the technology used should be upgraded, design kept freezing on the computer which was annoying. I also found it strange they knew it was my brother's first tattoo and he got zero info on how to take care of it after. They also only take cash and they're pricey.

Expérience fantastique: I got a tattoo done by Calvin and it’s amazing. He was extremely helpful, kind and professional throughout the whole process from design to scheduling to the actual tattoo and aftercare instructions. The rest of the staff at golden iron were welcoming and helped however they could! Couldn’t recommend them enough.

He talked me through everything when I got there so I knew what to expect. Not to mention his design was exactly what I was hoping for as my first colour tattoo! Highly recommend

Expérience fantastique: Came in for a last minute tattoo. Team was super accommodating. Harris answered all my questions and got me a same day appointment. Katie was great, wasn’t overwhelming in conversation & was very professional. I was the last person in the building and she even let me hook up my Spotify to the main speakers so I didn’t need headphones. 10/10 would recommend.
