Experiencia fantástica: I wanted an Arizona travel tattoo while visiting the area. For me, it's always a little nerve wrecking and maybe scary to try to find a tattoo shop and artist that is trustworthy out of state. I researched and found this shop with good reviews. I called this location in hopes of an artist willing to do my tattoo and also having specific availability while I was in town. I called and talked to Emily, who has the customer service of an angel. I'm sure I asked her the stupidest questions and had to change my time appointment time (because I was confused with timing of my schedule) and called back. And every single time I talked to Emily, she treated me like the sweetest person and with all the patience in the world. I sent over a reference photo with the most childish looking Snapchat paint drawing as a size reference and was told Emma would love to do my tattoo - within my specific time frame. Fast forward to the tattoo appointment. The shop is super cute and clean. All the staff were polite and kind. Emma walked me through the tattoo drawing she created and sat with me while we discussed the design. She was incredibly patient with me as I asked about placement and aspects of the design. Emma explained every single thing to me respectfully and with the reasoning behind it- WITHOUT MANSPLAINING. I find this to be so incredibly refreshing. I felt like I was a genuine partner in the tattoo I was getting. Emma was professional, personable, and accommodating. I absolutely love my tattoo. And I love it because of my whole experience in Arizona, including the tattoo process. If I'm ever back in Arizona, I'm coming back for you. P.S. My nervous non tattooed mom came with me. While sitting there, she thought about maybe getting her first tattoo. She was super back and forth and unsure. Bear sat with her and talked her through the process and even drew up some stencils and just put the stencils on to see if she wanted it. She took a bit to decide and then decided to actually get a tattoo. Bear was professional and calming to her. Rad experience to get a tattoo with my mom.

Experiencia negativa: My GF and I came here for a super basic tattoo and I get it was not a lot of work, but the artist that was free just said he wouldn’t do it without any reason. That’s not cool…just charge a minimum price if the work is too basic. Headed somewhere else and wouldn’t recommend this unfriendly place.

They were patient with us while we decided on fonts and made placement decisions. The tattoos turned out perfect. Will probably come all the way back to phoenix just for tattoos now. 10/10

Nathan was especially badass, a great artist (especially given the kind of bonkers mess of sketches and references I gave him to work from) and just fun to hang out with. Appreciate the honesty (not all shops are like that) re: whether what you want is going to turn out like you think it will, and how it will change over time / age with you, so you can be confident in that long-term decision and investment. Highly recommend him + the shop, whether you book in advance or just walk in like I did (granted it was a Thursday afternoon but still, they got me in and all was a super easy, seamless process). Experiencia negativa: I got a tattoo here years ago. A simple one, but I was told by the artist that I couldn’t have yellow ink on my skin because I’m black. Looking back at that experience now makes me feel a need to let darker skinned people know to talk to your artist before about your tattoo, no matter how simple, and if they say they can’t do something, you should probably look for a different artist. You deserve what you want to get and if they can’t do that, they don’t have the color theory skills you need.

Evan offered me a good price, and did the tattoo for me on the spot, while the other staff helped keep my 4yr old entertained. Experiencia positiva: Shop itself had amazing environment and good vibes, especially the receptionist with pink hair. It seems like my artist was looking for money instead of quality of tattoo or tattoo I actually wanted. I changed my mind when he told me the price (which I didn’t care about, just seemed excessive) and gave me stencil to look at (so much bigger than it needed to be and he seemed too lazy to do a finer line tattoo) so I went with something similar, which was a sun without a face. Nathan was great and conversational, yet did not care about what I came in for. He seemed to only care to do bigger and more detailed for the money. I am somewhat happy with my tattoo, but it genuinely seemed lazy and quick art. He wanted to call himself an experienced tattoo artist but could not do a simple design because it was “too small” seems ridiculous for an artist who has been “tattooing for over 10 years” I will say I overpaid for my tat, but that’s what you get for walk ins. If you go here, don’t go with Nathan. My friend I went with had she had a wonderful experience and a beautiful tattoo done by Weston. Nathan seems to only care about the money he can make that day.

Experiencia negativa: Let me start off by saying the staff in general was great and answered my questions the best they could and were helpful. My girlfriend and I specifically wanted Cerny to do our tattoos after looking at his work, we had tattoo requests in mind. We had to book due to busy schedules but booking was not straight forward. Called Golden Rule in early April and they said to contact Cerny via email. So I contacted him that day and after not hearing back after a week I called again. He was in that day and they helped me get an appointment booked. We paid the $100 booking fee and sent over our reference photos. A month later the day before I tried to confirm the quotes to make sure I had adequate cash with me but did not get a response. The day of, 30 minutes before our appointment on the way there we got a call from the shop saying they had to reschedule us with someone else, which didn't work for us. Ultimately cancelled and are going else where. I am sure Cerny does great work based on pictures of his pieces but it is super disappointing to be told 30 minutes before and after scheduling a month in advance that someone else would have to do it.

Experiencia fantástica: I had a tattoo done by Bare at the phx location, he did a cover up for me that turned out so exceptionally beautiful I forgot it was a cover up! He was very nice and made the experience so pleasant. It has only been two days and I’ve already received so many compliments, and my old tattoo is gone! Experiencia fantástica: This has been consistently the best shop I’ve ever been to, not only in Arizona but throughout the states I’ve traveled and collected tattoos in. I’ve been tattooed at both locations quite a few times and can tell the standards they have for their artists and counter staff are very high because I’ve never had a bad experience. I’m always excited to see who will be greeting me when I walk in. It’s one thing to create a rapport with an artist. It’s another when you feel like you’re hanging out with your friends all day because that’s what it feels like when you’re getting tattooed here. I’ve never felt like they’re “too cool” for me or any other clients that walk through the door. I’ve seen first timers freshly 18 to (presumably) even older. This shop is clean, established, warm, and fun. In my personal opinion, that’s the best environment to make a permanent decision.

Experiencia negativa: I am not making this review based on my own tattoo. My tattoo I would rate a 6/5 if i could, John S. did an amazing job. However my wife got 8 letters tattooed on the back of her neck by Weston and ended up paying $200. When mine was priced very Reasonable. I have been to tattoo shops all over the country and outside of the country and I have never met anyone that charged $200 for 10 minutes of work. Once again no complaints from my tattoo artist, i have nothing but great things to say about John S. However i would never recommend my wife’s tattoo artist Weston, his attitude wasn’t very welcoming either. My wife and I are very disappointed with Weston.

And not being an artist myself, she uses her artistic skills and created for me what I thinking only BETTER! Experiencia negativa: Wanted to bring a couple friends for some small tattoos. Knowing it was near the end of the day, I called in advance to see if they were available. They said yes, so I took their word. Drove straight there as soon as I got off the ohone, just to be turned away at the door. The girl gave me attitude about it being close to closing time, even though SHE was the one who said they were available. Previously had good experiences here, but if this is the type of people they hire now, I'm not coming back. Tip: if someone is going to be responsible for taking calls for the shop, make sure they're competent.

I was super nervous to get one due to not knowing how painful it would be for me and my artist Evan did amazing to help ease my nerves and I couldn't be happier with his work! He chatted with me during the session and before I knew it, it was all over (granted it was a small tattoo, but he helped make the time go by quicker)! Experiencia fantástica: This tattoo spot is our new favorite place in Downtown Phoenix! The staff is friendly, funny, and incredibly talented. They accepted our three walk-in tattoos no problem, and we're blown away. Cerny did all three of our tatts and we will definitely be making appointments with him in the future. His eye for detail is unmatched. We came here on a whim because of the great reviews and were not disappointed! With tattoos, you get what you pay for. That being said, this is definitely not the cheapest place around but for a good reason! Each artist has their own pricing but they're truly all incredible.

Experiencia negativa: The window says “we’re nice”, I wonder what happened in order for them to have to put that up. I noticed as another client was leaving the staff immediately starting making disparaging comments about the clients request. Yeah maybe the request was strange but do you have to make the whole shop hear the negative comments? They came to you because they trust you, less than favorable man that sucks. The artists are really passive aggressive towards each other, I’m not sure they like each other? I wish I could like this place, but unfortunately I won’t be coming back… certainly some talent in the shop but just doesn’t feel right after how they acted… Save your money and purchase artwork for your body from artists that actually care.. :(

Experiencia fantástica: Tianna is truly an artist. She did a memorial piece for my mom and I was nervous that nothing would feel "good enough", but she blew me away. The lines, the color, the shading, the little details - it's amazing. I can't stop admiring my new tattoo. The colors she chose go so well together, and the little highlights really make it pop. It feels like the product of a lot of skill and a little magic too.

Experiencia negativa: First time was great it was just a walk in. I liked the artist and all but the second time not so much. I scheduled a session a full week later for a bigger tattoo and it really should of been a one day session but after two hours he was like oh I have another appointment cost me $400. I didn't like that to much but what could I do. So I scheduled two weeks out and the day of my appointment he messages me telling me he double booked and canceled my appointment like a hour before i was suppose to be there. Dude you had two weeks to work it out. So for walk in its great but for appointment tattoos atleast with my guy it's a no go. Going to another shop to finish the work. If I need to call 24 hours before a session to cancel or I lose my deposit then the artist needs to be held for the same responsibility.

Experiencia fantástica: My partner and I got inked here last week and our artist Kyle Rockey did a fantastic job. Our tattoos looked even better than I expected and are healing nicely. It was my partners first tattoo and Kyle was very conscious of walking him through the process. He was a very gentle artist and it was almost completely painless. It was quite expensive but you pay for what you get and I was very impressed with the overall experience. Friendly staff, beautiful studio, sterile environment and good quality equipment used.

I recently witnessed her bullying people using her professional tattoo artist account with this business tagged in the bio and I can’t support a company who hires artists like that. It’s a shame she’s talented because boy she is vile.

Experiencia fantástica: I went in on 04/16 to get a back tattoo of a dragon. The place was super clean and had a super chill vibe. I went to Weston for my tattoo and was blown away. The line work is amazingggg. It took about 3 hours but he worked fast and efficiently. Highly recommend Weston!! <3 I am in love with my tattoo (definitely worth the pain lol ) . Not only was Weston amazing/ informative but Emily was super sweet at giving me tips for washing my tattoo / healing process. I will be back for my future tattoos !!

Experiencia fantástica: Came here for my first tattoo! John was my artist, and he did a great job working with me and making sure it was exactly what I wanted. He did a great job, and he works quickly without losing on quality. This place is clean, friendly, and has a great vibe. Highly recommend.

Experiencia fantástica: Got my first tatto at 51 with my daughter 27 Golden rule was recommended by a friend and bare especially. I was impressed with him and his skills and so was my daughter. Definitely recommend golden rule, will be back.
