Experiencia negativa: Ive been going back and forth on making this review because I'm still so surprised by what happened to begin with. I will say the shop is clean and the staff is friendly. I scheduled a tattoo with Mike Oulette a week or two ahead of time. We messaged on Instagram and I shared the pictures of the 2 tattoos I wanted. I said I wanted them exactly like the pictures. He told me he was happy to do them and was excited. When I arrived for my appt he told me he hadn't finished up drawing the tattoos which was confusing because I already gave him the designs. He convinced me to adjust one of the tattoos to make it easier to tattoo. Fine. The second tattoo was a complete redraw and frankly was so bad I had to say no altogether. (I should have said no to both tattoo designs, my mistake). We go to do my other design on my arm. The tattoo reference is bright pinks and purples. I wanted it to look very girly and bright. Throughout the tattoo he made comments about other clients who had come in and were so upset with his designs they left crying. He was speaking very poorly about them being unhappy with his design. When I was finished I was really upset about the way it looked. It looked nothing like my reference. After speaking with the owner of the shop he also agreed I did not get the tattoos promised to me. And offered me a refund which I took. But I do think this deserves a review as Mike did not even come close to achieving the end result he promised. I had to spend triple what he quoted me to have it fixed by a more professional artist. The first picture is the design. The second is the tattoo I got from Seaport and the third is the rework I had to have done. Very disappointed. 2 stars is solely for the owner trying to make it right. ETA: You're right I didn't show up for that appointment because I didn't feel confident in the artist achieving the bright colors expected in the original design based on his portfolio. If I had shown up the artist would not have made money during those hours as you were doing the rework for free and could have taken walk ins all day. You didn't meet my expectations before or after. I didn't even mention that Mike over charged me after quoting me a price $50 cheaper. Im sharing my honest experience with your shop. It was negative.

Jimmy, the owner, is my artist, his work and talent is the BEST! I’ve also been tattoo’ed by 3 other artist at Seaport. Jimmy runs a top notch shop therefore I trust any artist he has working for him to do my work, they are all truly talented. The Shop itself is immaculate, very clean and the energy is like no other. The entire staff is super friendly, they all make you feel welcomed and comfortable. 10/10 all day everyday!!

Experiencia negativa: Was very nice staff. Got my first tattoo here. The artist did a bad job. It’s not horrible, the art itself is pretty, but she just copied a design when I thought she would make it her own. Artist was clearly inexperienced. I even asked artists who did my more recent tattoos. The tattoo ended up healing one half faded and the other half bled out (upper arm tattoo). Also hoped she would do something more original with the references but she kind of just copied one of the photos I showed, not a big deal and obviously I saw it before I got it so won’t complain much about that. Would not recommend but at least they had a very kind staff. This was also back in 2020, not sure if she even works there anymore. But even looking back on the original photos it was not great work. Face was uneven as well. Would not recommend

Experiencia fantástica: Maya is great for piercings! My best friend, partner and I all wanted to go in for different piercings, so I set up several appointments through the website. Maya was really thorough at walking us through the process, from helping us pick jewelry to explaining the aftercare. Maya was also just super friendly in general and even offered drinks and snacks while we were there, great customer service experience over all. I absolutely plan to come back for more piercings later!

Experiencia positiva: Came from out of town and called a day before coming. They were very responsive and accommodating. I sent over some (dainty) reference photos and they scheduled me with the artist they thought would be the best fit for what I was asking. Unfortunately, the artist was not a good match. He wasn’t able to do my original idea because the tattoo I wanted was too small. Thats fair. I had some back up plans. But the design process was so much harder than it needed to be because he was inflexible and frankly, condescending. I was asking for a more dainty design and was met with “that’s not my style.” I decided not to go through with it because it wasn’t at all what I pictured and working with him was too frustrating. I was not refunded my deposit because he claims he spent 1.5 hrs designing my tattoo (it was 40 minutes and he spent that time drawing something a completely different style than what I showed him). I can understand wanting to be paid for your time but the experience was unpleasant and it felt like I was getting charged for being set up with the wrong artist.

This tattoo meant a lot to me on a personal and emotional level, and the team went above and beyond to make sure it was handled with care and respect. The artist’s work was incredible—the detail, shading, and overall flow of the sleeve are absolutely stunning. It truly honors the memory I wanted to carry with me. From the start, the atmosphere of the shop was welcoming and supportive. Leah, the manager, was amazing—she immediately made me feel comfortable, took the time to listen, and created such a calm environment. She’s warm, genuine, and you can tell she really cares about making the whole process meaningful, not just the final result. If you’re looking for a place in Boston to get not only beautiful work but also an experience where you feel understood and supported, Seaport Tattoo is the place. She took the time to answer my questions, walk me through the process, and made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. You can tell she genuinely cares about the clients and the shop’s atmosphere. I was so swept up in the the overall atmosphere of the shop that I completely forgot the artist name (my apologies!). If you’re looking for a place in Boston that delivers high-quality tattoos and makes you feel at home, I can’t recommend Seaport Tattoo enough. I’ll definitely be coming back! I’m already thinking about building onto my arm sleeve. Seaport Tattoo is the only place I trust.

Experiencia negativa: about the situation: ⸻ We had been looking forward to this day for weeks—a family tattoo with a very special meaning to my aunt, cousin, and me. We booked our appointment in advance, sent a picture of the design we wanted, made a deposit, and explained it would be for three people. On the day of the appointment, the time was moved up because the artist was running behind. That was no problem for us—we were just excited for this long-awaited family moment. When we arrived, a man named Jimmy apologized for the wait, and we were completely fine with it. The design we chose was a small, fine-line dragonfly, delicate and meaningful. My cousin decided to go first. Almost immediately, we noticed the artist seemed unsure, which we later realized was because he wasn’t familiar with fine-line work. When my cousin’s tattoo was finished, she walked over to the mirror but could hardly make out the design. She asked for a close-up picture, and that’s when our hearts sank—it was not at all what we had hoped for. The lines were shaky, uneven, and nothing like the simple, clean design we had shared in advance. My cousin begged us not to proceed, especially since it would have been my first tattoo. The experience we had been looking forward to as a bonding moment was completely ruined. The shop did not charge my cousin for the tattoo, but the damage was already done. What should have been a beautiful, memorable family experience turned into a huge disappointment.

Experiencia negativa: On September 27th, my mother, cousin, and I had three appointments scheduled at Seaport Tattoo for 3:00 pm. The time was later rescheduled to 4:30 pm, which we gladly accepted without issue. We were very excited upon arrival, especially as it was my cousin’s first tattoo, and when booking we specifically requested an artist skilled in fine line work. Unfortunately, our experience with Jimmy was extremely disappointing. From the start, he gave off an annoyed demeanor. When my mother asked about the needle change, his dismissive response (“uh huh yeah”) did not inspire confidence. During my tattoo, his handling was rough—very unlike any of my prior tattoo experiences. When I saw the finished tattoo, the lines were crooked and uneven, far from the example design we had sent in advance. To his credit, Jimmy did apologize and did not charge me for the tattoo, and my mother and cousin chose not to proceed with theirs. However, what was meant to be a special and exciting experience instead felt disheartening. The lack of care and client service was especially upsetting, given that we had made clear what we wanted when booking. If fine line work was outside of his expertise, it would have been far better to be upfront rather than attempt it. Now, I am left with a poorly done tattoo that I will eventually have to pay to remove. I wanted to share this feedback because our experience did not reflect the professionalism or artistry one would expect from a reputable studio. While mistakes can happen, the way clients are treated and the honesty of communication make all the difference. I’m sure jimmy is a more than capable artist. However if he was not capable of doing fine line. He should have said so when we scheduled the appointment or even when we arrived and he realized he couldn’t do it. Thanks

Experiencia negativa: Tried to get tattooed for our girls trip, was told to come at 630 and they’d stay late, called at few times at 6 to confirm and got no answer, they finally called us back at 625 and I said we’d be there asap & they said no worries but everyone might not get tattooed, I said totally understandable we were just waiting for a call before we walked over! Got there around 640 and the doors were locked/ lights were out and no answer on the phone. I realize we were late but I told them and they said to still come and then ghosted? Mike was nice when I called in the beginning so that’s cool I guess.

Both Helena the tattoo artist and Maya the piercer (I believe that was the piercers name but I didn’t get a piercing) were extremely knowledgable, professional and friendly. Experiencia negativa: Look im not saying this place is bad or anything for tattoos because I didn't get any but go to a real piercing shop for any piercings or at least in this specific case belly button piercings. I got my belly button pierced and I immediately noticed that something was off with the placement. I decided to trust it until i started having issues. Went to a real piercing parlor and they informed me that I did not have a belly button piercing but rather a surface piercing straight in my belly. Now it is infected and I must remove it and Im going to have a scar left in my stomach. I wish they had just told me i didn't have the anatomy for it and i would have moved on with my life!

Experiencia fantástica: I had a great experience getting my naval piercing here, its healing well (its been about 3 months.) I also recommend just grabbing the cleaning solution here its a fair price, I bought a saline solution at walgreens when I ran out and I strongly disliked the way it sprays. I just came back to buy a second (and larger) bottle of the solution.

Experiencia fantástica: I had such a great time!!! I got my upper lobes and helix pierced by Maya. She was so sweet and made me so comfortable. I’ve wanted to get these since I was a teenager and I couldn’t be happier. Maya explained every step of the step of the process, she showed me all different types of jewelry and different spots to see where I would like them best. My helix didn’t hurt at all. The tattoo shop is massive and so bright! I was greeted right away and offered a drink and snacks. I can’t wait to get my next ear piercing. Thank you Maya!!!

Experiencia negativa: The location is convenient. It's been many years since I got my tattoo here (2017) and I'm in the process of getting it lasered off now... a small tattoo with delicate line work that totally blew out as it aged without weight gain or loss, just really aggressive needling. Photo is original when tattoo'd, how it aged and progress a year and half in of lasering.

Experiencia fantástica: If I could give Mike (Ouellette) 10 stars I would. I am visiting Boston from Portland, OR, and Mike gave me EXACTLY what I wanted! He was so kind, respectful, and really puts his heart in tattooing. Great guy and I love my tattoo!!! DEFINITEY recommend going to him.

Experiencia positiva: Piercer was very professional and nice but you could tell she was a little impatient -- when she put her markings of where the piercing would go, I mentioned that it wasn't where I had expected but she didn't offer to remark them. I prefer piercing experiences where the piercer is super open and we have a back-and-forth of discussing placement - I never want to feel bad or like I'm inconveniencing someone when I'm making a decision about a change to my body. Otherwise, the shop was super nice and everything was very clean. I would still recommend it -- but just be prepared and know exactly what you want.

Experiencia negativa: This artist goes on Facebook marketplace randomly telling people he will tattoo them for a MacBook or iPad or iPhone that they are selling . Yup , he really thinks somebody in the world would sell their sealed expensive apple item for a spontaneous tattoo from him. When confronted about how ludicrous of an offer that is he gets offended and asks to fight and calls you names. Ironically enough r.e.a.l stands for …. “respect everyday”. I would steer clear of getting inked by Mr. Reggie
