Experiencia fantástica: I came here with my daughter at the last minute to mark a special mother daughter trip. First and foremost, this is probably one of the cleanest tattoo shops I've ever seen. Bathroom included. And I love the way it's decorated with figures. If you come to this place, you really need to look at the floor (the tiles) and notice how it's decorated with glitter in between each tile. I was received with a warm welcome. The girl at the front desk was knowledgeable and very polite. I met Steve who was kind enough to do a cute little tattoo on myself and One on my daughter without an appointment. I was very grateful for that. He's a really nice guy. He took the time to explain things to me. The picture of the American flag on the forearm is not my tattoo and it's not my arm. However, the tattoo of the crescent moon with Saturn and the moon is my wrist. The butterflies that are colored and shaded are located on my daughter's ankle. Great work! Fantastic, in fact! Price was good and worth it. I would definitely come here again if I'm in this part of town. They also do piercings but I didn't get any of that. Thank you, Steve for everything.

Experiencia fantástica: This place was recommended to me by a close friend and I called ahead to organise something very last minute. Steven was kind enough to accomodate me into his schedule considering I only had three days left of my visit to worcester. Steve was very easy to work with and it was wonderful to see him bring the tattoo I have wanted for a while come to life. He was very patient with me, listening to my specifications as he drew up the design which made it a lot easier as I had a few pictures of similar pieces - but wanted certain parts from one or the other. Steve overall made the experience very fun and is great at putting you at ease. He is also very light handed and gentle - so much so I fell asleep in his chair as I was getting an upper hip/lower ribs tattoo. He is very talented and will definitely return for future tattoos when I am visiting.

Experiencia negativa: Review 2/9/24 I consulted with Steve at The Black Rose Tattoo company, Steve took the time with me and explained the cost, realism and to book full day sessions this would be cheaper than hourly. Excited to move forward I booked my appointment for June. As June approached I emailed Steve several times because I did not know what he had planned for a design and I had no response from Steve or the shop. Keep in mind this was after I paid my deposit and my husband also purchased a gift card in May towards the tattoo. 6/20/24 the day of my appointment I arrived at the shop and no one was there. I waited called and Steve answered he said yes they are at the new location and he was running late childcare. We met and Steve did not have my tattoo prepared, no design. We did sit together and came up with a design and rescheduled for July. First session full day Steve left the chair for extended periods of time many interruptions left the shop for an appointment friends hanging around the chair. Session two Steve was late childcare arrived 10:30 appt 9. He was not able to locate my stencils or art and needed to find them. He left the shop again for an extended period of time while I sat in the chair with the inks stencil on my arm. Session 3 same interruptions people hanging around the chair and hardly any communication between Steve and I. Steve told me 2 to 3 more sessions to complete the project but prior to this day he said one more session. I follow many fantastic artists on social media and learned they do realism and their customers were leaving with work completed in a session and I was not. I spoke with a few artists and decided it was within my best interest to not continue with Steve. Had I continued I would not have been able to fix the tattoo or even have it removed. I chose not to show at my last appointment and oddly the shop never called me, Steve never called me to ask where I was. Would I recommend The Black Rose Tattoo NO! Will they say we were under construction moving shops yes. Will they respond that I wanted realism and that this would take multiple sessions yes! I wanted realism however again how is it mine looked a distorted doodle and was not coming together after multiple sessions, keep in mind the full day session is $1,500.00 a day! Will they respond you no showed yup they will but honestly I made that choice! As a professional business owner it is their responsibility to take due diligence and put the customer first. Respond to client’s emails. Be prepared with the work. Take care of your business and personal needs prior to accepting money from a client and scheduling a service that they cannot provide. Red flags were there from day one and I continued to go back I take ownership for this mistake. They should take ownership for taking me for a financial ride to purpose their own financial good. Luckily I found a shop who took this and created a beautiful piece of art. Last comment to this lengthy post I recently attended a tattoo convention and had the pleasure of chatting with one of the judges and prominent artist shop owner in New England, while at dinner. His comment to me blunt and truth do your research before being inked! The judges at the convention were shocked at the prior work and made mention they need re-do contest I would agree. I spent a year hiding my mess something that was special to me in memory of my Dad. Now I walk around proudly displaying my piece people approach me comment gorgeous landscapers comment on the flowers how real they are. and well sorry not sorry The Black Rose Tattoo Company you missed out on doing a beautiful realism full sleeve that is now in the works elsewhere! My recommendation do not go to Steve at The Black Rose Tattoo Company… and do your research before being inked it pays to wait and find the shop and artist who can make you visions come true.

Before even getting started, I was offered food and drink, and then Luke was able to execute my design perfectly! Very friendly and easy all around, and will be back for another soon, I have no doubt!

Experiencia fantástica: Got my first two tattoos here and I could not be happier. They’re both fine line and I did them with Steve. He has such a light hand which made it very tolerable. I got one on the ribcage and one on my foot. I will definitely be returning if I want another tattoo in the future. The rib cage pictured is it fully healed and the picture of the foot tatt is right after we finished the session. The place is also wicked clean! I loved my entire experience at Black Rose.

Experiencia positiva: This place is clean and welcoming, plus the one staff there made time for us last minute- employee who helped us was very kind! I’m just confused as to why the cost of the backings wasn’t mentioned- our piercings were sanitized before ringing it all up, and it would’ve been preferable to go over the full price of the backings on top of the earrings before committing. I will return in for future purchases though, this place was helpful overall and has great quality jewelry.

I had my tattoo done by Steven! He was also great to chat with and even had time to add a second piece to what I wanted originally! His work is amazing! Experiencia fantástica: Came in for a consultation, left with a tattoo! They got a very clean environment. Alaor did a fantastic job! There was a bit of a language barrier but he understood exactly what I was trying to do with this design and helped me achieve it! Now both my fur babies are with me always. My parents booked this for me, as they wanted to get it for my birthday. So I did not know what to expect going in and I’m extremely satisfied.

Experiencia negativa: I waited about 7 months to get an appointment with Steve for a coverup I had been waiting over 20 years to do. Even though I showed up on time the day of my appointment and he had the design in advance, he wasn’t ready to start tattooing until 2 hours later. There were frequent interruptions after he started and very little progress was being made. I was concerned early on that I would not be leaving with the coverup he agreed to, so I expressed my concern to the receptionist. She had to go track him down to continue the tattoo, after stopping and disappearing multiple times. I spent an entire day at the studio and left without my coverup, and a random 1 1/2 flowers. I was still charged full price too! When I expressed my frustration, he said he’d try to get me in again soon. Never heard from him, so I had to keep contacting the studio. Since he was unwilling to fix the horrible experience, I had to find a new studio to fix my worse off tattoo and pay even more money. I spoke to Steve multiple times and he finally agreed to refund me all but the booking fees. That never happened. I ended up getting about 1/3 of what I paid back several months later. Now he’s refusing to follow through on what he promised. It’s funny because the other studio I went to completed my cover up in less time than I spent at The Black Rose, and they did a large tattoo. Awful experience here! Picture on the left is what was accomplished after 2 hours, middle picture is what I left with (after being there 8+ hours, and my old tattoo was not even covered whatsoever), picture on the right is what I was able to get done in 8 hours at a different studio.

Experiencia positiva: Great location, next to a gas station with a dunkin donuts. Plenty of parking, lovely atmosphere . Someone did mention to me the other day about the Black Rose moving to a new location, where the monthly rent would be much cheaper. Not really my business for their monthly rent fee,regardless, any one needing fresh ink done, or piercings, give them a shot.

Experiencia fantástica: I came to have my naval piercing put back in and found out that they were closed due to moving and changing buildings, I was sad but to my surprise a gentlemen saw me sitting outside the buisness and came to see if I was okay. I expressed that I was coming to have my piercing put back in as I couldn’t seem to do it myself and came to Black Rose Tattoo co to see if they could possibly help, he said he would see if someone would be willing to take the time and fix it for me. To my surprised someone was and it was Steve the owner! I was extremely appreciative of the extended kindness despite being in the middle of moving. Steve took the time to do so and prepared a sterile room and found the proper jewelry to replace mine and then helped me put my piercing back in ! My tattoos were very particular in terms of needing the line work details to be exactly as my sources showed, which my artist Diana did perfectly. Beyond that she did beautiful shading and color, and picked just the right size to bring the design to life, despite my having been thinking about this design for over 3 years! Would recommend to anyone, and will hopefully be coming back again some time for more work.

Experiencia fantástica: Worked with Luke for a sword tattoo. The lines came out obscenely straight, the shading was perfect, and the process was as painless as it could possibly be for a forearm. The healing went smoothly, and the tattoo looked even better after the peeling process was finished! I had to wait a few months for my appointment, but I believe all good things come to those who wait, and they're rightfully popular. Thanks guys!

Experiencia fantástica: Finally got another tattoo I’ve been wanting for awhile. Everything from when I first walked in for a consultation to the tattoo was excellent. Everyone at the shop is so friendly and welcoming. Kevin was my artist and from the first meeting, I felt really comfortable with the whole process. I showed him some reference pictures and told him what aspects were really important to me and what I was flexible about and he was excited to work on it. The day of the tattoo, Kevin had a couple of great design options and we were able to combine aspects from each to make a great design. Shop is very clean and a really chill environment to get a tattoo in. One or two other members of the staff popped their heads in throughout and were very cool and they, along with Kevin, made me feel very relaxed. The tattoo healed well, came out great and I’m very happy with it. Definitely recommend the shop as a whole as all the artists are very talented and I will definitely be back to see Kevin for my next tattoo.

Experiencia fantástica: I had to come to this shop to get my snake bites removed as they were causing me a lot of pain and discomfort. The piercer that helped with the removal was very sweet and gentle. She even told me that the metal and jewelry used were incorrect for my body. I ended up having to remove my nose stud due to the same problem. She was very informative which I greatly appreciated and even offered that after they completely heal, she'd be happy to re-pierce me. Mind you, I didn't get pierced at this establishment first time around, I got it done somewhere else. But I will most definitely be going here in the future for any future piercings as the staff were very friendly and helpful.

I had a huge cover up done that other artists said was impossible, well not Diana! She not only covered a large dark unwanted tattoo , she made it dissappear and gave me the tattoo that I wanted in its place. I also am currently working on my sleeve with her and its coming out better than I imagined. The entire team is passionate about their craft and they will get you excited about your ideas and offer the best suggestions.

They suggest making an appointment, made it very clear that walk-ins welcome and they would be first come first serve. We walked in and got taken right away. Everything went smooth and they were very thorough on aftercare. Overall really great experience and would come back for another piercing!

Experiencia fantástica: I absolutely love working with Steve. He’s both the owner and a tattoo artist there. He always knows exactly how to execute the random ideas I have for tattoos and turns them into true works of art. He never shies away from a challenge and is always looking to do better, be a better artist. The whole place is super clean and tidy. The customer service is absolutely amazing. Everyone I recommended also loves his work. I would not get tattooed anywhere else. UPDATE: two years after my review I went back for more tattoos and my first piercing. Kara did my septum piercing and I could not be happier with it. She answered all of my questions and told me the best way to care for it after considering I had to flip it up for work purposes. I also got tattooed by Steve’s apprentice, Kevin. He took his time and showed that he really cared about the work he was doing. Steve also checked in and gave his expert opinion so Kevin could learn as much as possible on my neo-traditional color piece (a challenge for any apprentice). He knocked it out of the park. Per usual, this place is my go to and I already have more appointments scheduled :)

Experiencia fantástica: Currently working with Steve to create a gorgeous large floral realism tattoo on my thigh. So far the piece is going better than I could have hoped with essentially no pain. Plus he has some good music choices that he will not only play on a speaker but will sing along (which helps time go by much faster). The entire staff is extremely friendly and professional. It is very apparent that Black Rose Tattoo prioritizes the art and the clients comfort, rather than just in it for the money like other studios in the area. I was there for a tattoo, but was able to sneak in a piercing while waiting for the person I was with to have their tattoo done. I've been recommending Black Rose to everyone I know!

Experiencia negativa: I and my two siblings came in and got our lobes pierced (their first and my second). The piercer was very nice and helpful with their first piercing experience. But now, all three of us have infected cysts on either both or one ears. We were all very cautious with the cleaning and taking the highest precautions to insure no keloids or infections. But yet we all are currently dealing with cysts.

Kara did my belly button piercing, she was very precise, gentle, and walked me through every step of the process. I then got my tattoos from Steve, he was also very welcoming and gentle and I will most definitely come back when the time comes for me to get another. They are also VERY clean and sterile, I am very happy with my experience and I HIGHLY recommend.

Experiencia fantástica: If you are trying to find a piercing and tattoo shop in Worcester then stop looking immediately. After walking into and trying to make a consult with about six different places, I finally walked into Black Rose Tattoo just on a whim. Thank god I decided to stop by because I couldn't have been more elated with everything the shop had to offer. I was immediately greeted by the friendliest staff rather than wait until someone noticed my existence as in other shops. I first got my ears pierced and the process was so easy and relaxed with really reasonable prices. Moving onto the tattoos I've been searching for someone to do; I first met Ben and was immediately impressed with his professionalism as well as just being really easy to talk to about the different ideas I wanted to put together. He has already finished one, and halfway done on a second. Needless to say, that my left arm basically has his name on it. Ben is extremely laid back and absolutely takes pride in the work he does. It's also refreshing that his confidence is respectable, instead of some artists that think they are the best and know everything and come off as annoyingly arrogant. The really big project of getting a sleeve on my other arm has been started by Diana. I have already had an all-day session of the beginning of a realism piece and the experience was great. I thought 8 hours of tattooing would have been tough to get through, but I literally could have taken a nap from being so relaxed. Diana was meticulous with her work and was adamant for me to take good care during the healing process. Just goes to show the level of care that the artists put into their work. Steven is obviously the master artist at the shop, and he clearly has taught his expertise to the artists I already mentioned. At this point I feel like a regular and I honestly like to stop by the shop just to say what's up. So, if anyone is looking to get a piercing or tattoo, then just go straight to Black Rose Tattoo in Worcester and save yourself the hassle of looking all over the place.
