Experiencia fantástica: Siri is an incredible tattoo artist and I can’t recommend her enough. I came in with an asymmetrical design idea, and she was able to thoughtfully refine it and turn it into a beautifully balanced, symmetrical piece while still keeping the spirit of what I originally wanted. Her attention to detail and line work are amazing. She was also incredibly kind, patient, and professional throughout the entire appointment. The process felt very comfortable, the studio was clean and welcoming, and she worked efficiently without ever rushing the quality of the work. The final tattoo looks absolutely perfect and I’m beyond happy with how it turned out. If you’re looking for an artist who is talented, detail-oriented, and genuinely cares about making your tattoo look its best, I highly recommend Siri. I will definitely be coming back to her for future tattoos!

This was my first tattoo, so I didn’t quite know what to expect going in, but the whole experience was incredible from start to finish. Experiencia fantástica: I recently got a piece done here by Daniel, @Zide.Nation, and wanted to share what an absolutely incredible experience it was. For starters, this is actually the second tattoo I’ve gotten at Black Serum, both done by Daniel. After seeing how amazing of a job he did on the first one, I really wanted him to work on something else that I’ve been trying to get done for a while, so I reached out to him to see if he’d be interested in doing this fairly large project for me. In base, I wanted a large scale centipede wrapping around the left half of my upper body, and he loved the idea. The process of booking the first appointment was quick, and having loved his prior work, I couldn’t wait to see what he’d create. He was super receptive to ideas and had amazing feedback during the whole process that made the journey feel super relaxed and easy. By the time the appointment came, I was beyond excited. Over all, I believe the whole thing took 5 sessions, most of which were back to back. Almost the entire piece was freehanded with a mix of his own unique outlining style which was super cool to experience and see, and I have to commend him for being able to grind through those days back to back in order to produce such high quality art with the focus he demonstrated. This was by far the largest tattoo project I’ve done and was admittedly pretty nervous for it, but between taking breaks and just hanging out at the shop (which is absolutely gorgeous) the sessions flew by and it was actually a pretty fun time in itself. Over all I can’t express enough how much of a positive experience it was to get work done at Black Serum, and what a pleasure it was to work with Daniel again to put something so beautiful on my body forever. Though intending to choose a female body artist, the elegant flow of style and pet portrait rendering in his art resonated above all. Sodam is respectful toward women and a devoted professional. I adore his work, and found him to be a perfect collaborator. He brought every aspect of my story to symbolism, beautifully. Sodam’s design combined from my refrence photos resulted in an artwork as personal and meaningful as the accumulation of living with the love who brought me to this day. He holds a swift focus in detailed illustration and creates a comfortable tattoo experience. One can sense he is in creative bliss. Relaxing as a spa visit, it’s a clean well kept workspace. After, we followed up with one another post initial healing weeks and scheduled a complementary retouch and review of aftercare. If you are considering a tattoo, I greatly recommend Sodam of Black Serum for the finest experience. ️️

Experiencia fantástica: I booked with Erin (@hellhiatus on instagram) because I was enamored with her unique style that is a blend of illustrative and american traditional. She responded super quickly and I gave her a very abstract idea of what I wanted to fill a gap on my stomach and she completely ran with it. I was beyond impressed with Erin's creativity and artistic ability working with the weird space I had. The actual tattoo process was seamless and Erin was very communicative the entire time. I would 110% recommend booking with her if you like unique/traditional style tattoos. I can already tell she is going to be one of my go-to artists in SF!

Experiencia fantástica: Very professional shop, clean and so many very talented artists. I came in with an old, faded tattoo and had it redone/touched up and recolored. My artist was Sadam. And he started with a 6 hour recolor, re-outline. He took no breaks and stayed busy on me the whole time, making sure I got my money's worth. My second session was the shading and finishing. I'm so happy with the work he did, and I finally love my stomach piece. He was also very fair with price. So I tipped him well, he deserved it. Overall my experience here was top notch. And will be coming back to this studio for any more work to be done. Definitely a high end, top notch studio. You will not be disappointed. Thanks black serum.

Experiencia fantástica: Getting a tattoo from Black Serum was on my bingo card for the past few years, and now I can finally fill in that box. I got a custom tattoo done by Lore and words can’t express how much I love it. She did an excellent job at using my reference picture and adjusting it to add more details to where the reference lacked. She’s very knowledgeable in her style and offered suggestions to embellish the tattoo which I trusted wholeheartedly. Lore was very professional and made the whole experience comforting while ensuring that the tattoo looked perfect. The whole process didn’t feel rushed and the little breaks in between definitely helped. The only regret I have is not coming to Black Serum sooner. Definitely looking forward to getting another tattoo from her.

Emily is tremendously talented with an extremely unique style that blends the classic with the modern. But more than talented, Emily is a wonderful person too. I felt comfortable the moment I met her at Black Serum. For me, one of the best parts of tattooing is the bond with the artist, and Emily and I talked and laughed for six hours straight. I felt safe, comfortable, and genuinely happy the entire time. It’s easy to see that all the artists at Black Serum have a great relationship with each other. I can’t recommend Emily enough, and am looking forward to going back to Black Serum!

The tattoos turned out amazing (I literally cant be out in public now without someone complimenting). The sessions were very comfortable, the shop environment is calm and aesthetically pleasing.. If you want a unique piece of art on your body, this is the spot!

Experiencia fantástica: I got a butterfly tattoo by Vica (insta: sunpersimmon.tattoo) and it was an incredible experience! I sent over some reference photos and Vica asked me a few questions, she also sent over the design the day before in case I wanted to make any changes, but I felt like she understood my vision perfectly and there wasn't a single thing I would change about the design. The shop itself is lovely and in a great location near multiple public transportation options. I also like that the shop is by appointment only, as it felt quieter/more chill due to no walk-ins. Vica is super talented and has such a kind and thoughtful energy. She provided multiple size options for the stencil, and offered me a hot tea at the end of our session which was so perfect especially on that cold January day. I absolutely love my tattoo and highly recommend Vica/Black Serum.

However I am incredibly grateful to have met Shona (@SkeletonVelvet) at a music festival this year. They had invited myself and a friend to come out to Black Serum for some Halloween flash this year, and words cannot describe the atmosphere at this shop. The shop owner was handing out (non-alcoholic) beverages to all the clients getting work done (while also sharing kind words), all of the artists were extremely kind, and the work was incredible. She was also very patient during placement. Tattoo process was quick and painless! I was able to bring my headphones and they have comfy pillows and blankets. The salon itself is very clean and stylish. Afterwards Katya gave me an aftercare package and followed up with instructions. I would give 10 starts if I could. Experiencia fantástica: I visited Black Serum late August for a tattoo with Anita Rossi, this is the first time I work with Anita, and I am pleased to say this won’t be the last! Anita had been extremely helpful during the whole process. She worked with me prior to the appointment to understand what my inspiration is and what my needs are, she was on board with what I had in mind and helped to execute the idea. She shared the design with me prior to the appointment so I was able to view and make adjustment if needed. (I couldn’t even thought of anything to change as the design she created is exactly what I was looking for!) During the appointment, she walked me through all the steps, she constantly checked in with me to make sure I was comfortable or if we need to take breaks, and my nerves went away as the appointment progressed. Anita’s work is exquisite and I have been getting tons of compliment for it, can’t wait to work with Anita on the next one!

First time was with a guest artist years ago and boy did they know how to pick him--his artistry and efficiency made the experience wonderful. Fast forward to this weekend when I got tattooed by Mimi-sama. She was so efficient in coordinating, planning, and actual tattooing! All without making me feel rushed or pressured. Got my mangala umbreon completed in a total of 2 hours, including a difficult knee placement. Our fun conversation during the session kept my mind from the painful placement as well Would book with Mimi-sama again for sure!

The whole process was very smooth, from booking/planning to bandaging. Noting that it was my very first time getting tattoos, she was patient and considerate — ensuring everything was okay. I want to emphasize this stunning piece: the leaves and how it elegantly wraps around my forearm✨. Experiencia fantástica: This was my first getting tattooed by Erin @HellHiatus and it was an awesome experience. I tend to drift toward traditional/sailor jerry/neo-traditional styles, so I was drawn to Erin's art a while back. Erin has a unique perspective that really shows in her flash art. I've noticed blending of modern and traditional styles with delicate, but strict lines and heavy ink when there needs to be. I was blown away when she showed me her rendition of the custom piece I wanted. It was tough, modern, big, and dark - Contrasting slightly from some other pieces I've seen from her, but still with her unique spin in shading and details. It showed me that Erin is dynamic in her designs, and makes her a lot of fun to work with. The process was swift, and she was very attentive. Great conversation, and the time flew by. I know it's about the end result, but the process was enjoyable. Still, the end result blew me away. I'm definitely going to be back. Thanks Erin!

Experiencia fantástica: This is the second tattoo I've gotten at Black Serum. Both times have been great. At the beginning of my tattoo journey, I had previously trusted "professionals" who turned out to be arrogant tattoo artists who were heavy handed and did not listen to what I had asked for. Even when I switched artists and shops, I always left disappointed. There was a long gap in time before I felt comfortable adding more of the artwork I had always wanted. I was incredibly wary of most shops, since I had gone to highly rated places in the past, but still didn't get what I had asked for. So, it took a long time to select a place and artist. After a lot of research, I ended up choosing Black Serum, hoping that the talent and artistry I had seen from their portfolios would finally translate properly on my skin. My first tattoo here was incredible. The detail and precision was exactly what I had hoped for. I finally had art that I was proud of. So, for my next additions, I obviously chose to come back to this wonderful shop. The artist I had worked with previously has since moved on, so I looked to their website to see which artist's style would match my vision. I found one of their newest tattoo artists to have the perfect match in style. Her name is Viktoria-she works with both black and color ink and has amazing line work. I messaged her for a quick chat about what I was looking for and to book an appointment. She was so incredibly sweet and patient with me as we went back and forth on the font design I was after until it was exactly what I envisioned. During the appointment, she was focused on the details and made sure I was 100% comfortable and happy with the design and placement. The tattooing process was swift and painless (as painless as tattoos go) which is quite impressive for fine line work that requires straight lines, but she made it look easy. I couldn't be happier with the results. If you're looking for someone who can do perfect, detailed fine line work, I would absolutely recommend Viktoria! I've been so pleased with my experience at Black Serum. The shop is beautifully curated and is located in a great area that is easily accessible by public transport. I can't wait to come back!
