This shop has a great vibe, and Emily is an incredible artist and a genuinely wonderful human being. She totally saved me after issues with a previous artist and a very stressful situation. Looking back, I’m almost glad it happened, because I don’t think anyone else could have brought my vision to life the way Emily did. I will definitely be a client for life. You will be in very capable hands if you work with Golden Anchor—trust that you’re getting the very best.

Experiencia fantástica: A couple months ago my mother’s house burned down and my 8 month and 1 year old cats died in the fire. As a 22 year old college senior I had never gotten a tattoo but wanted to get something to commemorate them. Last Saturday I came in to see about getting a tattoo incorporating various sentimental elements revolving around what happened on my upper middle back. An incredible artist named Bryson met me at the door, I told him about the elements I wanted with the tattoo- Saint Florian cross, JFK half dollar, cat names, Bible verse, and he came up with a beautiful design on the spot that incorporated everything beautifully, quoted me a price, and gave me my first tattoo all within the span of roughly 2.5 hours. He was incredibly accommodating and friendly, even at one point after he had done the stencil, I wanted to make the 3 in the Bible verse Roman italics to match my name’s suffix, and he immediately was able to do it. I got thirsty during the tattoo and he gave me a complimentary bottled water. I was pretty nervous as it was my first tattoo and his friendly vibe and positive attitude made the experience go from something I was nervous about doing to something actually very pleasant. Bryson ensured the tattoo was perfectly symmetrical and in the dead center of my back, and him as well as the other 2 tattoo artists in the shop answered so many of the questions I had about the realm of tattoos and styles there are of tattoos. Bryson gave me incredible aftercare instructions afterwards upon the completion of the tattoo, and also gave me additional complimentary second skin should the one currently on fall off early. On top of all of that, I left a beanie there after I left, and Bryson immediately texted me so I could retrieve it. I had an incredible experience and would scream from the mountains recommendations to any of my friends or anyone reading this review that’s thinking about getting a tattoo to go to Bryson at Golden Anchor. From the bottom of my heart, this tattoo meant the world to me with everything that happened and I cannot thank Golden Anchor and Bryson enough for it. 100/10.

Bryson was professional and welcoming from the very first phone call. He checked in multiple times before we got to town and was sooooo patient with us deciding what we wanted. The service when we arrived was even better. Everyone was so welcoming, making us feel comfortable. Our tattoos are perfect! Experiencia fantástica: My dad and I came in on a Saturday on rather short notice, we're so happy Emily was able to accomodate us! It was both of our first times and we wants a simple tattoo of a child's hand holding a parent's. We were both very nervous about the pain and healing, but Emily is such an excellent communicator! She kept us comfortable, we left knowing everything we had to about the healing, and she eased us into the tattooing process, which made it so much more comfortable. The vibe of the store is welcoming and very cool. We will definitely be coming back!

Experiencia fantástica: Naturally, I was a bit nervous and intimidated coming in here for my first tattoo about 8 months ago. That quickly faded once Tez got started tattooing me. The whole experience was overwhelmingly positive. Tez and the other artists struck the perfect balance between professionalism in what they were doing and keeping the mood light with their banter between one another. I also liked how supportive of each other they were too. On multiple occasions, other artists would come over to see the work in progress and remark how good it was going to look once it was finished. Theo, the owner also came over at one point and asked if I wanted him to put anything on TV. I took note of this, as it seems like he’s a thoughtful, professional business owner who really cares about how the clients experience his shop. As for the tattoo itself, I couldn’t be happier with the finished product. Tez gave me a full color, illustrated lion head that I’m proud to have on me for life. Indeed, I get a lot of compliments on it from friends, family, and strangers alike - and have even referred a few people to Tez/Golden Anchor as a result. If I ever decide to get a second tattoo, I’ll be coming back here to do so.

Since I left my original review, I've gone back for two more tattoos: Emily did a memorial piece for my dog and Theo added to my Disney sleeve. I'm so happy with their work! Everything heals well and looks good later on, and I can't recommend them highly enough. 2021 review - Theo and Cristian did an AMAZING job on my two tattoos! They are very beautiful and well done. They did a great job of helping me relax and feel comfortable. The vibe of the entire shop is laid back and fun. All the artists clearly take pride in their work, and I highly recommend everyone here!

Experiencia negativa: The shop is a good-sized space, has a good atmosphere and overall clean. The artists are great and I definitely recommend their services. The owner however was not always cordial or professional at the shop, as he knows this but doesn’t want to take ownership in his actions. His artwork is fine though and has a rustic feel. Cannot return to the shop as me and the owner do not see eye-to-eye. There are overall better, positive shops to support in the Atlanta area.

His attention to detail is just insane. I asked for a very detailed design and wanted it on the top of my hand. They said it’d be hard to get all the detail in such a small size but he took the challenge on and absolutely crushed it!! It’s officially my favorite tattoo for sure.

He listened, gave his input and we agreed on his price and started the tattoo. Ever since he’s been my go to tattoo artist.

What has stood out to me is that This place is CLEAN, PROFESSIONAL, and all of the artists are top notch. My artist Lartez has produced some of the most beautiful work on me, including a cover up turned masterpiece. He's knowledgeable, patient, creative, and super personable. Since January of 2023, I've been trusting this location and Tez to create exclusively for me. I have over 10 pieces ranging from small to Large. Each of these pieces bookmark very significant moments for me and I'm so glad I trusted Lartez and his artistry to be a part of that with me. I still have more sessions ahead with him. I highly recommend!!

Experiencia negativa: How do you miss a whole letter working from a stencil? Shaky lines and no quality control, it’s Atlanta. Plenty of places that won’t keep you waiting for bad tattooing. Go somewhere else or take a chance and then have another shop corrected like me. Luckily Atl has some great shops and the pizza is great next door

Experiencia negativa: I wouldn't recommend Tez. He does not listen and will not give you the tattoo you want. He wants to do "his" desired tattoo even when you are telling him you don't like it. Poor customer service. UPDATE TO RESPONSE: Nice try but sorry you have me confused with another customer as I don’t have any kids. Maybe it’s a habit of Tez that he does not remember the customers that he does this too in terms of not wanting to give customers what they are inquiring about. I see I’m not the only one, proof of my original review His customer service was bad in terms of his attitude nothing towards the shop in general or perhaps his work. No need to be emotional. Tez adjust your attitude and listen to what the customer wants and not what you want to do. As an artist it is ok for you to give your input as you would be considered the so called expert but to demand what you want to do is unacceptable. Also, I'm intelligent enough to know that would be unacceptable to copy another artist work. Furthermore, I would not want another persons exact design because for me that would mean "no originality". He has no respect for the craft because he wanted to give me what he thinks is the norm and what "he liked" which was the exact design when showing me looking through what I call tat book on the wall because you can maneuver the large designs like going through a book and saying that's exactly how he would do it. I wanted my own variations.

Experiencia fantástica: I've always wanted tattoos but was very picky about who I let put something permanent on me. I had been interested in getting tatted since I was about 14 years old and it took until I was 30. A good friend of mine recommended me to one of the apprentices at the shop, Bryson aka spike loyal, now journeyman. I was blown away by the tattoo he did on my chest for my brother and haven't looked back he does all my work and have watched him grow as an artist. It's been 2 years now as a repeat client and I couldnt be happier. Hands down the best shop around. All artist in there are A1 and the master of the shop Theo also takes time to make everyone feel welcome. The same goes for the rest of their artist. It feels like a family not just a shop. That's all that's on that ig account. 10/10 would recommend anyone in the shop for a beginner or veteran tattoo enthusiast.
