Experiencia fantástica: I am new to the tattoo world and wanted to get one while I was in town for work. I got my tattoo done with Chip and oh my gosh what an amazing artist, person and experience! I went in with an idea of what I wanted and picture but Chip gave me some advice about the design, etc., and actually took the time to draw something up for me that represented my family as a whole, and I am absolutely obsessed with it. But my favorite part was the process, our conversations, the stories we talked about our lives and experiences we had and he even shared with me music he created. It was just an amazing experience I had and felt like I was with a friend. What an amazing person and tattoo artist, I haven’t laughed like that in a while!!! Thank you so so much Chip!!! I couldn’t recommend him enough - Blessed!

Experiencia fantástica: Went as a walk-in for a piercing. They were super friendly, very knowledgeable, and SO QUICK! We met a couple of their staff and all of them were so nice and helpful!! The piercer (I believe he said he name is Jordy? I’m such an jerk. Forgive me if I got that wrong!!!!). Did a AMAZING job. I was comfortable, he was super professional but kept me at ease. Talked me through it and didn’t mind me dropping an f bomb or two! lol. I told him I have an issue with needles so I did NOT want to even see them before hand. He kept em hidden and I definitely appreciated that!!! I saw them after and definitely would have backed out had I seen em before! Thank you all!!!! I will definitely be coming back! Ready to get my first tattoo!!!

Experiencia fantástica: Jory pierced my ear earlier this evening and he did a wonderful job! He listened to me about the placement and was pleasant to work with- easy, laid back, and put me at ease. I've been weary about this particular piercing (helix) for years, but he made it simple and painless. A little redness, pain, and swelling came a little afterwards, but that's always to be expected. It was all affordable, as well. I highly recommend anyone to check them out!

Experiencia fantástica: Went for a septum piercing. Building was clean, staff were helpful and my wait was short. My piercer, Jory, was professional while being laid back in a reassuring way. We cracked jokes and he made adjustments to my piercing with enthusiasm and didn't make me feel like a bother whatsoever. The piercing was quick and clean and I left happy and confident with my new jewelry. Will definitely be coming back here for all my future body modifications.

Experiencia negativa: “Open till 8” but not really open till 8 so don’t try it. This was for a less than 10 minute piercing— which I see other customers have had issues with as well. I got there about 7:20ish. A nose piercing would’ve still had em out on time but instead they told me to come the next day. Suuuuuper convenient for night shift workers

Experiencia positiva: 9/24/2025 Chip is an amazing artist. I've gotten two pieces done by him, both were great quality for a reasonable rate. He has a very friendly personality and is easy to talk to. Highly recommend him as an artist! The reason for the stars is that the rest of the staff doesn't provide such stellar service. The older woman with piercings that works the desk is very rude. I had already talked about setting up an appointment with the artist, but when I came in to talk to him, this woman basically treated me like a liar and said he doesn't do appointments, even though I've spoken to him and know that he does. She was very dismissive and didn't really try to help, only told me to come back the next day. I really wish this didn't happen, because he is a great artist that I want to support, but I won't spend money at a business that treats me like an annoyance/stupid person.

Experiencia fantástica: I had a nostril piercing issue that was dismissed by a piercer at a different business. I called and spoke to Aimee and they said they were willing to take a look at it and give me advice. I’m so glad that I made the trip to see them today!! Not only did they find a major issue with the piercing, they took steps to reverse the current problem and went above and beyond to help me have any hope of saving the piercing. They were gentle, knowledgeable, professional, and just an overall good human.

So far it has been healing good & I been using the solution that I purchased from the shop no problems as of right now. Definitely want to go back to get my other side piece. Shop was clean and the staff was very friendly and professional. Definitely visiting again. ***Update August 3rd*** my nose piercing is healing great I haven’t expecting any infection I clean it twice again honesty ready for my other side now **Update July 22 2025** My nose piercing has officially healed and I was able to change piercings with no problems it didn't even hurt once changed.

Experiencia fantástica: I highly recommend this place! I didn’t have an appointment and got there at 12 and there was a line at the door of people waiting. I originally went for Lana but she was booked for hours so I asked for another walk in artist and got Radar and he was great! He took drawing of my dads, moms and brothers hearts and transformed them into a perfect tattoo on my rib! I was very nervous because it was my first tattoo but I highly recommend they were all very nice and professional!!

Experiencia fantástica: Went as a walk-in yesterday with my best friend. My daddy passed away 4 weeks ago so I wanted a tattoo in his memory. He LOVED music and played a mandolin, so a mandolin tattoo was where my heart was set. Then I met Chip. I showed him what I wanted, he took the time to draw it up and when he showed me what it would look like on my arm, it was TOO big and he advised that it wouldn't look right any smaller. I was so sad at the news, but he's the trained professional and I appreciated his honesty. While my friend proceeded to get her tattoo, I thought about how much my daddy just loved music. I searched for musical notes and ended up finding the PERFECT musical note attached to a heart!! I walked out of there with tears in my eyes and a tattoo in memory of my daddy that I will cherish from now on!!! I was comfortable the entire time. Experiencia positiva: I’ve had a tattoo and a piercing change out from here. Tattoo was great, it needed a small touch up and they did that a little after it healed. I’m super pleased with, the person that did it was very nice. My issue was with my jewelry change out. I asked to go from a stud (9 months old and healed) to a ring in my nostril. He told me the ring he got was the same size but he moved from an 18 g to 16 g and forced it through. He had to removed my current jewelry so he should’ve know the ring he picked was too big. I had to go to another piercer who told me it migrated and put a stud back in so it could heal. Overall would come back for another tattoo for sure, would not come back for anything piercing related

Experiencia fantástica: I got my first tattoo here today. I can’t say enough how great this place is. I take a blood thinner everyday. They were very helpful and understanding. Every step of the process was explained to me from the very first day. My artist was Rizzo and I couldn’t be more pleased with his work. I am amazed at how good this tattoo looks. I showed him a picture of what I wanted. He researched it before I got there and found that part of the pic was wrong and corrected it in his drawing. The color combination is perfect. The lines and letters are very sharp. I highly recommend him and the whole shop. It was a great experience.

Experiencia negativa: I was there on a Saturday for a walk-in an hour before opening. Unfortunately, there were already 10 people ahead of me. When the door opened, they decided who would go to which artist. This process was totally unusual and strange for me as a European. When it was my turn, of course, there were no spots left, but Lana then offered to let me come the next day and we could definitely do 2 of the 3 planned tattoos. I had already contacted her beforehand and she had all the images and my ideas. She also knew that I had a long journey. When I came the next day, she showed me a template for the smallest planned tattoo without much ado and she also told me that she hadn't prepared the other tattoos yet and that she needed more time for them. She offered to draw something now and I waited almost 2 hours! until she showed me something that unfortunately didn't suit me at all. So we only did the small tattoo. The plan was a mix of 3 different styles (we had written about it on Instagram beforehand). In the end, it was almost identical to the last suggestion I showed her. I was a bit disappointed because I was hoping she could create something of her own. The tattoo is OK, but the whole process, the way you are treated in the studio and, above all, the listless, taciturn manner was not my thing. I have been to a few tattoo studios before, but I have never felt so uncomfortable! I don't really look at the price, but I have never (luckily) experienced 200.- for a 45 minute tattoo and the design simply printed out from a template! I would absolutely not recommend it to anyone!

Experiencia fantástica: they are super professional!! they are also very clean which is a big thing as you can even see them wiping down and sterilizing materials, furniture, etc…they answer any and all questions you may have and the wait for walk ins is 0-5min AT MOST.

Experiencia negativa: VERY rude people. We took my little sister to get her very first body piercing, and the lady up front is very hostile and rude towards customers. She yelled at us and said "ONLY THE PARENT" when we tried to go back with our sister since this is a very emotional and scary experience for her, and we wanted to support her. We will not be back. Do not go here, there are other places where you can have better experiences across Birmingham.

Experiencia fantástica: Marcos was amazing! Super nice throughout the entire process and gave me a wicked awesome greek key tattoo. Very sterile and clean, and the work done was great. Have to see how I heal up, but the experience was awesome and I'm super satisfied now. Reccomend the studio highly as well as Marcos !

Experiencia negativa: Was really looking forward to getting work done here based on all the good reviews but canceled on me 4 times, one within 12 hours of my appointment and the other 3 canceled appts in less than 2 days notice, I know it should have been a red flag the first time but tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. Artist said it wasn't their style and tried to push me off on 3 different artists saying it was "more their style" despite an in-depth consultation in person where the artist was told to do THEIR style. I have tattoos all over my body from several artists and have never experienced such unprofessionalism and blatant disregard for the customer. Don't go here unless you want amateur things that your kids can probably do on a grapefruit. Artists should be able to do a mixture of styles and it was not a difficult tattoo. Go at your own risk because they will cancel at the drop of a hat. I'd recommend Revolution Ink. Their artists are extremely professional and was able to do my back piece without any issues or trying to pawn me off on someone else or being wishy washy. Don't believe all the good reviews, they don't take care of people in the military either. If I could give 0 stars I would. Hope this helps your search for a down to earth, talented artist because it ain't here folks...good luck!

The entire staff is very friendly and they make you feel comfortable. If you're looking for any tattoo, go to Classic 13, you will NOT be disappointed, guaranteed! Experiencia fantástica: Jory is amazing. He will always be my piercer in Birmingham. Very professional and knowledgeable. Side note: The other piercer Logan was not very friendly. I stopped by to ask a question and he seemed as if he didn’t have time, even though no one was in the waiting area or in the piercing room. Im not calling him rude, just wan’t helpful or friendly.

Experiencia negativa: They keep your money for no reason!! They require a $100 deposit for an appointment. I left $220 so I would have a bigger credit toward my Tatoo. After speaking with the several time about rescheduling, they said they were keeping my entire deposit and it was going towards the artists time. I had not even sent the artist anything to show him an idea of I wanted. He had spent no time other than about a 5 min conversation up front at studio. I can understand by canceling that they may keep $100. But not the full deposit of $220. They would not use any of my money towards a credit. So if u put down a deposit know it’s non refundable!!! I feel extremely angry about them keeping All of my money and will never go back there!!

Experiencia negativa: I came into this studio for a walk in. Lady at the desk who greeted me was nice and polite but the artist was incredibly smug and a huge jerk. I’ve heard many rumors about this shop being unfriendly towards women and POC but this basically confirmed it for me as the artist was so incredibly unfriendly, I couldn’t possibly fathom allowing him to mark my body for life, no matter how skilled or talented, let alone giving him and this studio my money. The tattoo artist is supposed to work with the client to create a design that is both feasible, practical, and within the realm of what the client wants. I was so kind and polite to the artist who looked as if he was too good for the design I wanted. I’m really sick of these older more traditional tattoo artists treating clients, especially female clients, like garbage or pretending to be too good for the design. If there is a problem with the design, there is a polite way to interact with the client to get a design that works. It is ridiculous to me that these people are still in business.

Experiencia negativa: Terrible place. Called in advance for a piercing. They said come on in any time. We drove 30 mins to get there and they said, sorry the piercer just left. And this was the same IDIOT who told me to come just walk in before 7. This was 6. I wanted to rant and rave and demand gas money. My partner calmed me down. Stay away!!!!!

Experiencia fantástica: Went in on a Tuesday afternoon to get my lip pierced - I was in and out in less than thirty minutes! Not my first piercing, but my first one at Classic 13 - I've had 4/6 of my tattoos done there and have never had a bad experience. Everyone that works there is amazing!! Me, my friends, and my family almost exclusively go there.

Experiencia negativa: Artist cancelled the appointment an hour before the appointment. After I drove 1.5 hours and took the day off of work, after I called to confirm the appointment the day before. Bummer. Brittany. Said she couldn't do the tattoo (like not capable). Fire and water. I was sooo excited. She could have told me the day before and saved me a vacation day and the 3 hours of driving there and back. If she fessed up yesterday, I wouldn't have written this review.

Experiencia fantástica: Edit: Aimée has moved to Cloud 9 studio. She’s still in Birmingham, and still my most trusted piercer! Aimée is a Goth Barbie Queen. She is the most genuine, kind, knowledgeable, professional, and fun piercer I have a lot of social anxiety, but coming to see Aimee is going to hang out with a friend. Every time I come in, I have about 10 different ideas. My last visit, I decided that Aimée should choose the piercings and the jewelry. It’s so much better than I could have dreamed! Because of her jewelry and placement choices, even my very conservative mother had to admit my piercings are beautiful! Just as important for me: Aimée quickly responds to questions before and after the appointment. She offered piercing-related advice that helped my sister and I avoid a piercing tragedy. For as long as she and I are in driving distance, I will trust only Aimée to poke me!

Experiencia negativa: Worst service ever receive. I have 10+ tattoos before getting my last one and I never been in so much pain, oozing ink and fluids 9 days after getting tattooed. I have indentations(dips on skin) 3 holes and possible scarring on multiple locations. Tried to contact the tattoo artist but wouldn’t reply to me and when I tried to contact the shop it seems like they tried to blame it on me not taking care of the tattoo properly. Went back to the shop and no one would help me. Whole heartily I tell you to avoid this place at all cost, and I you really want to get tattooed there stay away from Brandon like the plague.

Experiencia negativa: MY PIERCER WAS FANTASTIC. however, the miserable lady working the front desk - she needs to meditate. for a long time. i’ve never met someone who WILLINGLY goes to a customer service job just to be a condescending, inconsiderate, jerk to anyone she speaks to. during my initial visit to the shop i watched her roll her eyes, huff, and sarcastically respond to every customer that came through the door including myself. weeks after my piercing i called the store to ask a question, the lady (who is paid to ya know, answer questions and deal with customers) quite literally was so rude to me i started to record the phone call. i see this isn’t the first review referencing her attitude!!!!

Experiencia fantástica: I had my nose pierced a couple of months ago with Aimee- wonderful experience! She had me in and out in no time and was very calming and professional! Went back after three months to have the piercing changed by Logan and had the same quick and lovely experience. The healing was super easy and smooth; I absolutely recommend them for piercings!

Experiencia fantástica: I walked in to Classic 13 today heartbroken because my job wouldn’t allow my septum piercing (yes even flipped up) and walked in to get it taken out by Aimee. I was pretty upset and told Aimee how much I didn’t want to get rid of it! Aimee told me about septum’s they had that could easily be taken in and out of the nose (easy enough for me to take out!!!) Not only was all the staff there very kind but went above and beyond to make sure I knew how to use the septum and said I could come in the next day if I couldn’t figure out how to do it on my own. I would 100% recommend Classic 13 and Aimee as a piercer!

However the lady up front seems to have a nasty attitude when you walk in, didn’t feel welcomed at all. Being a customer, and giving any business your hard earned money… you would think hey… at least good customer service but nope! I always come here for my piercings, I’ve never had an issue but you guys should really address that because it can drive potential customers to spend their money else where

Experiencia negativa: Got a great tattoo from Marcos. Once the touch up was finished, the face was altered. I sent an email the next day and didn’t hear back for a month. Complimented his work, left a good tip and he told me to “feel free to find someone else” after I was unhappy with how the touch up turned out. Now I have to pay another tattoo parlor to fix his touch up. Staff is nice, especially Casey.

Experiencia fantástica: I went to get my nose and upper lobes pierced by Aimee for my birthday and it was such a chill experience! She made me feel comfortable and talked to me the whole time, answered all my questions (before, during, and after). You can tell she loves her job and I trust her completely as my piercer. I'll be back after they heal for more!

Experiencia fantástica: I was a walk-in appointment for a septum piercing. The wait was over an hour, but the place was full so that makes sense. The person who did my piercing was kind, sociable, and talked me through every step. She seemed highly competent. I was anxious about cleanliness and complications before getting the piercing but my worries were put to rest because the facilities were very clean, the piercer was careful about being sanitary, and the piercer answered all the questions I had. I would recommend this place to others who are considering getting a piercing.

Experiencia fantástica: First time going in there, for a first experience for my septum piercing, and the atmosphere was very laid back. All of the employees were friendly, welcoming. The shop gave off such an atmospheric vibe, it was very down to earth. And then, I met the piercer Aimee for the first time. She was very friendly and super sweet. Also, with me being a first timer with getting my septum done, I was having mixed feelings on how painful the piercing was, but she talked me through it and gave me wonderful advice. She also guided me the whole way through and the piercing pain didn’t hurt at all. It was roughly a 3/10 when I felt the needle go in but we were finished very rapidly. She also gave me tips on aftercare with the piercing as well. If I could give her a thousand stars, I definitely will. And same with everyone else who works there. I will be coming back, for sure! Thank you all so much for all that you do! You just gained another customer for life.

Experiencia fantástica: Rizzo is so incredibly talented and professional. He takes pride in his work and it definitely shows. He worked quickly and did a phenomenal job on a thigh piece for me. Cannot wait to get another tattoo from him. After I was done with my tattoo, I decided to get my nose pierced again and Logan also worked efficiently and was incredibly professional. Everyone was so kind, especially the girl at the desk (I never caught her name). It was pretty busy and she made sure to greet everyone and answer all of their questions. Highly recommend this shop!

Experiencia fantástica: I recently went to Aimée to get another piercing, and she was just as amazing as the last time I went to her! I let her have complete reign of where to pierce my ear, and she ended giving me the cutest conch piercing with the cutest jewelry to match. She’s very skilled, and has a knack for putting you at ease if you ever feel nervous; she talks you through every bit of the process, and provides thorough instructions on piercing aftercare. I don’t think I could recommend her enough!

Experiencia fantástica: Aimee was the best!!! I had two earlobe piercings that I let close up and she reopened them for me. One of which was being very stubborn, she talked me through the entire process and made it as painless as possible. The third earlobe piercing was new and Aimee did an excellent job! She was very professional, kind and took the time to go over after care instructions with me. I had such a great experience that from now on I will drive from Montgomery to Birmingham just to see her for any future piercings.

Experiencia fantástica: Aimee has been my piercer for about 5 months now, and she is the absolute best! She is so gentle and kind. She pierced my medusa piercing back in July and I had an issue with it flaring up, and she helped me right away with many different reasons to why it could be angry! It healed up perfect and she downsized it for me today! She also pierced my nostril today and it went so smooth. She’s just so quick and gentle and it really makes getting pierced a lot less intimidating! She has ALWAYS made me comfortable and I will forever be getting pierced by her! She was knowledgeable, very skilled, and just so sweet and kind. After the original piercings I had in mind would not work with my ear shape, she suggested a set of piercings that came out so much better than what I initially came in for, I'm in love with the design she executed. We will definitely be coming back to Aimée for all of the future piercings we plan to get!

Experiencia fantástica: Words cannot describe how happy I am with Classic 13 and Aimée. I had an awful experience with a piercer at an old shop and it ruined my expectations around piercings. I’ve been holding off on getting this piercing for a year now and I finally bit the bullet. I was extremely nervous the whole time until Aimée called me back in the room. Immediately she calmed my nerves and we just started talking. She did an amazing job of explaining the whole process and it was quick and painless. I got emotional because she healed my piercing trauma and gave me a hug in the end. I will be coming back to her for all of my piercings.

Experiencia fantástica: My friends and I all got piercings with Aimée at Classic 13 Tattoo, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. We were a large group (8 people) and she took us all happily. I got an industrial piercing, which was my first real piercing, and Aimée calmed my nerves by talking me through everything that she was doing throughout the process. My friends and I couldn't stop raving about Aimée and our new piercings all day, and so far everyone has been healing well. Would definitely recommend getting pierced here!

Aimee did all of us, and we all were raving about Aimee for the rest of the day! I could not recommend anyone better. I would trust Aimee for any piercing! Not only that, but the front desk was also amazing (I forgot her name)! She seemed so invested in our choices and was great at being someone to bounce piercing ideas off of and was a joy throughout the entire process. Between the front desk and Aimee, my friends and I had a fantastic day that we will look back on fondly for years!

Experiencia negativa: Staff is great and very friendly/ helpful. I’m giving this place a 2 star review because the owner is horrible to his customers. Instead of being helpful when I had issues with my jewelry, he decided to try to blame it on me for not coming in sooner, and told me that the issue was that I touched my piercing without washing my hands in front of him (the only reason I had even done that was to show him the issue). I came in a month after I was pierced and it took some time to realize that it wasn’t healing properly. The piercer who fixed it for me let me know that the jewelry was in fact faulty. She replaced it quickly and they let me know that there would be no charge, which I think is a good policy. The owner is the only staff member who I had issues with, but for that reason I will not be returning for my next piercing and I do not recommend this business.

Experiencia fantástica: In town for work and decided to add to my right ear with a 3rd lobe and flat piercing. @aimee Leigh is amazing! She is kind, took quality time to help me select the perfect jewelry combination and explain the piercing process. I would go to her again in a heartbeat because she understands what I am going for and gets the placement perfect! When back in town will have to get a pierce from Aimee again.

I am so so so GLAD that I trusted Aimèe with piercing my ears. She listened to my fears, answered all my questions, and adjusted the placement of my piercings when I asked. I’ve had tattoos from Marco’s and Brian and they turned out amazing! Marcos is currently still working on my sleeve and it’s coming out beautifully. I highly recommend everyone at the shop!
