The service seemed fine at first, but when it came time to actually choose what I needed, the person at the counter ignored the measurements I offered to give and instead chose to “guess.” I walked out with labret posts that were too long despite having healed piercings. When I returned to fix the issue, the same person deflected responsibility. Even after explaining that I followed their instructions, I was only given a small, begrudging discount on the new set of labret posts I had to buy. There was zero consideration for how inconvenient this is, especially for someone who budgets carefully to afford something like this. Please stop “guessing” and listen to costumers. Edited (after follow-up): After this review, Sarah (the general manager) reached out directly, listened carefully, and took the time to look into the situation. Their communication was thoughtful, professional, and clearly focused on making things right. They acknowledged the issue, handled the refund promptly, and were very respectful throughout the process. I really appreciated this and would be very willing to return. Thank you!

I had just had surgery and they were really accommodating the whole time. I totally recommend having your tattoo done there and would definitely recommend having Aiden doing your tattoo. Experiencia fantástica: My oldest is 28 so I've been taking my kids here for a lot of years. She was pierced by Stan DiMan. Recently, my 12 yo went. Her older sister thought it would be nice to get her ears done at a chain. It was horrible and she eventually begged us to remove them. The next year, they tried again with the same issues. Her ears became angry and infected and we removed them again. Fast forward a few years and she asked again. I said I would take her to a professional piercer. That was last year at TRX. They healed beautifully, we never had a single issue. Well, this year with her christmas money, she wanted a second set of lobe piercings. Gyllian was wonderful with her. My daughter is very anxious by nature and cried a bit. Gyllian talked her through everything. She now has her double ear piercings and is a very happy girl. Thanks TRX!

Experiencia fantástica: My experience with TRX and artist Aiden Simpson was simply stellar. I live out of state and after months of eying Aiden’s work on social media I reached out to schedule an appt when I was coming through St Louis. Every communication with Aiden was professional and personable. When it came time for my appt the service was similar from when I walked through the door. From being greeted to filling out paper work everyone was super friendly and efficient. Aiden had done a custom design for me and after a couple last minute edit requests from me he got to work. During the session Aiden made me feel comfortable he chatted with me throughout and was understanding of my fidgeting/gave me plenty of breaks to stretch since I chose a somewhat awkward placement (I learned my lesson and will think placement through better in the future). He went through aftercare making sure I understood, invited me to reach out with any questions that come up and walked me out after the appointment. I am incredibly satisfied! If I could give more stars I would!

Experiencia fantástica: My boyfriend and I came in for a walk in, the atmosphere was amazing everyone was super friendly! Aiden helped us he asked Kyle what he wanted and he got straight to sketching up a design, he brought back three sketches. Ultimately Kyle decided on the best one and he got to work, Aiden made sure to communicate the entire time and make sure that he had the right placement for the piece. Being Kyle’s first time he started off with a dot so that he could feel the needle, after that he just kept on going. The piece is phenomenal, it was an amazing first time experience. We will definitely be coming back!! Thank you Aiden and Thank you TRX, you guys are awesome. :)

Experiencia fantástica: friendly staff that helped with the process of doing ear piercings. they explained the process and what was needed for kids and were good about providing different choices for earrings for them. they were helpful and made sure the kids were ready and also explained the healing process well. they also have followup visits to check the earrings and healing parking is pretty easy on the street

Experiencia positiva: I stopped by the shop and the piercing jewelry looked really nice. You might go to some tattoo places that charge you just for the jewelry you pick, but TRX charges for the top and the post—so basically the jewelry and the backing. My backing was $16 and the jewelry was $24, so I paid $40. Most tattoo shops usually charge $10 to $20 depending on the quality you can pay a little more. My stud was very basic for it to be $45. I’ve been getting tattoos and piercings for 20 years and I've never had to pay tax before, but oh well. The service was great, but the pricing feels a bit false advertising.

Experiencia fantástica: what can I say about Shelby other that theyre wonderful to be around and give fantastic tattoos! theyre work is beyond amazing and the quality of detail is next level. i gave them a rough concept and they drew up multiple drafts for me to choose from which I appreciate they are also incredibly light handed which is extremely nice for my sensitive skin. I jump around a lot for tattoos but will be consistently going to them when my pockets allow so!

Experiencia negativa: Would leave zero stars! Horrible customer service. I understood that there were folks in front of us, then they started taking people that came in after us that were walk in. I heard them say they were browsing and then wanted to purchase jewelry. We had been there already for a hour. I’ll spend my money in neighborhood that are respectful of my time!

Experiencia negativa: TERRIBLE, do not GO!!! they allowed multiple people to go before me, while i was at least waiting an HOUR plus, the lady the front desk with the top lip piercing and curly bob claimed they the WHITE girls before me had an appointment. I dont understand what is taking so long it’s a piercing…not a tattoo

Experiencia positiva: I got my nipples pierced and got the jewelry changed at the time I was told to come back in and get them changed which was about 2 weeks ago. During that time, one of my piercings fell out twice because the balls were not installed tight enough. This week I had to go back and get it re-pierced. They did it for free but it put me through extra pain. Secondly, I asked for light blue barbells. They gave me dark blue/purple barbells and the only other choice the piercer gave me was a lighter blue but with a green color. I don’t think he went up to the counter to asked the person I spoke to about what shade I had actually picked out in the first place. Since I was given only given two options, I chose one of them. Now, I don’t like the piercing jewelry at all and I was put in more pain than necessary in the process. I am not a satisfied customer and I have had several piercings done here in the past with no issues so this is quite frustrating.

Zack did my piercing and made me feel so at home and comfortable. He’s been piercing for over 15 years. Everything was clean and sterile. I was in and out in 20 minutes. Will definitely come back when I’m in STL again.

Experiencia positiva: I called for a simple inquiry, but I ended up getting much more. The person who answered my call was incredibly professional and transparent. Their honesty gave me the confidence to go ahead with an eye tattoo, even though I had never considered it before. Unfortunately, there weren’t any artists available to do sclera tattoos when I called, but that’s okay. I’m sure this place will become a popular spot for them in the future. Peace ;)

Alex is an amazing piercer and I will definitely be returning for future piercings. Not only was everyone very patient with our kid, Brandon carefully explained everything he was going to do and took us step-by-step through the aftercare process. My kid is so happy. I'd recommend TRX to anyone wanting to have their kid's ears pierced.

Experiencia fantástica: David Richert designed and gave me my first beautiful tattoo sleeve. I sat with him for several sessions and he was kind, fun, and professional. His line work and shading are outstanding. It was an absolute amazing experience and he was attentive the whole time to my needs and how I was doing in our long sessions. His upbeat and positive attitude were appreciated and he was most gentle in his process. His equipment was always sterile and his workspace was well organized and clean. I loved my experience getting this beautiful tattoo and was delighted to see the pictures he took of the finished product featured in his artist’s tattoo design coffee table book laying in the lobby (see photo). I highly recommend David for any tattoo and will definitely go back for another one if I decide to get one. Go get tatted by David - he’s the absolute best at what he does!!

Experiencia negativa: This was from a while back. Dont let the nifty ambiance of this place fool you. This place is "selective" in who they want as customers. They act as if they are all inclusive to every walk of life, but that is by far from the truth. I went in and start talking to the owner, nice at first. As we talked more and he asked what I had in mind, I explained I wasn't looking for anything to be done that day, but ran some ideas by him. Well it didnt take long for his true self to show. Dont get me wrong, their are some decent artists here, but the owner needs a reality check, hes living in another world and thinks everyone and everything owes him something, one of the most disgusting entitled human beings Ive ever come across. He does not value a single customer, behind everyone's backs, he has something negative to say. And I say this because in his mind, he ASSUMED we didnt have the same view points on things in todays world. Well, that was enough right there and out the door I went

We got these for a fundraiser for a local animal rescue too which says a lot about the kind of guy he is. He was professional, quick, easy to talk to, and the quality of the tattoos was great! I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a great tattoo artist. He also explained the aftercare thoroughly which is something some artists struggle to remember to do. Experiencia fantástica: Aiden did my lotus flower tattoo based on Nana Osaki's tattoo in the anime Nana, and he did perfect! The pricing was very fair, the place was very clean and tidy, I was given excellent aftercare instructions, and Aiden made the whole process very smooth to be my first time getting a tattoo. I am extremely happy with how it turned out :)

Experiencia negativa: I feel bad because a lot of people seemed to have a really great experience with their piercers (which is what I came for) but I honestly had a weird experience. I was a walk in, getting my navel done. Everything was going great with the consultation and prep, but the actual piercing experience was not okay. My piercer had some difficulty with executing the motion of piercing me (which I understand it's a lot of tissue) but then she lost her spot, removed the needle, and put the same needle back in. It was very painful, and I think an infection risk. This was a few months ago (I wasn't sure if I was going to post this review) but in retrospect that could have been a risk to my health. There is also some weird scaring around the top of my piercing due to the 2 entrance holes of the piercing. Its healed up okay, but in the moment it was worrisome.

Experiencia positiva: The piercer was great. I love my piercing. It’s barely swelling. He did a great job. He explained after Care really well, all of that would make me give him five stars. But It’s been four days since I got it and every single day since I got the piercing I’ve had to put it back in because it falls out. I don’t wanna blame the piercer, but I did pay $30 for this jewelry And it seems to be really cheap I cannot get the ball to screw on my eyebrow NOR click so I’m coming back to see what they can do.

Experiencia fantástica: Went in with some friends on a Monday for a walk in piercing and the place was a lot busier than we thought it would be! Cozy interior, greeted immediately on entry by happy faces. We were all seen in the order we arrived and Giulia got all of us in and out pretty quickly. I got my septum pierced and it was smooth, she took her time getting everything exactly right, and I barely felt anything. Everything was very clean in the room: hands washed, gloves changed, brand new packaging, sterile technique. This was my first piercing and she made it such an enjoyable (and informative) experience. Looks great, feels great. All of the staff were super welcoming and Giulia did a fantastic job with all of us. 10/10 will definitely be back! Can’t recommend enough.

Experiencia fantástica: As someone who’s only experienced lower quality shops I was super impressed with the professionalism of this business! I was a walk-in client for piercing and was greeted almost immediately after entering. They have a full display case of all kinds of jewelry and a gift store to the side, a couple brass stools and a three-seater couch for waiting. On the form there was a section to fill out my preferred pronouns and they even used them! Once you have the form filled and they call you back, you’re taken to a private room to begin. I was allowed to bring one person in with me, and there was even another chair for a guest in the room. The set up looks very close to a doctor’s check-up room, which makes sense since the shop is APP accredited. My piercer was Zach Powell, he did such an amazing job. I didn’t have the anatomy for what I wanted but he was willing to talk to me about different options to achieve a similar look. He was super easy to talk to and was also very funny. Before he started he asked for consent to touch my face which was so nice, and didn’t rush me at all on my decision. I have a high pain tolerance and it might just be my own experience but I really think he has a great technique, I’ve rarely had any bleeding, no swelling or bruising, and honestly doesn’t hurt at all. The attached photo is my eyebrow on the third day. I will personally be back, and I will definitely recommend people I know personally to get their piercings done here for sure!

Alex was very professional and explained the process as we went which calmed my nervousness. He did measurements of my nose and when he pierced it I barely felt anything I was almost confused lol. Afterwards he went over after care and I left. It was so fast. I recommend anyone wanting a piercing come here they have experienced piercers who know what they’re doing. And they keep their shop squeaky clean!

Experiencia negativa: My first review was removed, but I will share my experience as many times as necessary. Very helpful and friendly staff, aside from the gaping wound of a piercer known as Zakk. Combative and bitter does not begin to describe my interaction with this individual. He refused to even address me or look me in the eye when speaking with me over the poorly executed piercing he gave to my family member. The manager of this establishment was kind enough to refund the cost of the service, but having to endure Zack deflecting responsibility and belittling my family was nothing short of repulsive. Be sure to avoid Zakk if you choose to get pierced at this establishment.

Experiencia fantástica: Kristy did an AMAZING job removing my 11 year old dermals a few months ago. She has such a great and calming presence and took her time removing them with great care. Because of her care and expertise, they have healed up great with minimal scarring! I highly recommend her. She is a wonderful piercer that has a true passion for her craft.

The shop will shorten your jewelry when needed and check on the healing of your piercing. They handle intimate and gender affirming piercings with the utmost care and discretion. Zach was our piercer, and he did a great job explaining the nose piercing process and detailed steps regarding the aftercare. We went back 3 months later for a check-up on her healing process and to purchase a new nose ring. I would definitely recommend them for your piercing and tattoos services.

Experiencia fantástica: I can’t say enough great things about TRX. We went and got my 7 year old niece’s ears pierced today with her mom. The entire staff was friendly and went above and beyond to make my niece feel comfortable. Alex did an amazing job explaining the process and calming her nerves. She left so happy and just beaming from being able to get her ears pierced. I will be recommending to anyone that is thinking about a piercing especially a first time ear. I would recommend calling ahead though to verify someone is in that will pierce at the age and that you have the right documentation if it’s for a minor. Thank you again TRX!

Experiencia fantástica: Took my (15yo) daughter to get her septum pierced today. Other shops in st Louis had us jump through hoops to get this done, but TRX had no issues with taking her in. My daughter is very shy and was very nervous. The man (I wish I remembered his name) was SO very patient and caring with her. He spoke directly to her. Made jokes and didn't point out her nervousness even slightly. He had her lay back and asked a few questions, and then one, two, three...it was over with. I can NOT express enough how amazing they were with her. So incredibly professional, but also very caring. The prices were super reasonable. So that was a major plus. But I'll forever return because of the people who work there. I know this is just the first of many that my daughter will get, but we'll definitely go back to TRX any time she wants one!
