Fantastic experience: Seven Swords is 100% worth it. I got my second tattoo done by Joseph and he was an amazing artist to work with. Everyone else in the studio was also very welcoming and kind! Joseph gave me options for sizing, took his time with placement and made sure I was comfortable. I am highly satisfied with how my tattoo of my dad's handwriting turned out and it means a lot to me. I can't wait to come back again soon!

Fantastic experience: I can’t recommend Seven Swords enough! I was tattooed by the incredibly talented Olivia this afternoon and am thrilled with my new tattoo. I sent Olivia my inspiration and she came up with the most beautiful design. She helped me figure out the placement and was happy to tweak the design to my liking but honestly we hardly changed anything. She’s incredible and if you’re looking for dainty and detailed, look no further. The shop was clean and welcoming, and delivers a very personal experience. Fantastic experience: I went in for my first tattoo- I wanted a couple lines from a hand written card my dad wrote and I was paired with James to do the tattoo for me. He was very friendly and welcoming and made me feel very comfortable for my first tattoo. I also came late to my appointment, and changed the style of the lines last minute and he was very accommodating and super helpful to make sure I got exactly what I needed. The tattoo turned out great, and he made sure I got the exact placement I wanted on my back. I will be returning for future tattoos from him- overall great experience and a great tattoo shop!

Fantastic experience: When I wanted to have my main man Jesus tattooed on my right upper shoulder I googled; “the best realist tattoo shops/ artist in Philly”. First page was Seven Swords & Mark Braham as the best. Thank you google because my experience was exactly what I had hoped it would be. Mark explained the game plan for the two day process and how everything would come together. Mark is one of the most talented, professional, artists I’ve come across in my 61 yrs. He has cultivated his trade to another level and exceeded all my expectations. He captured and bought to life what I envisioned for my art work. Fantastic experience: This is an awesome shop. The people are incredible and professional. The vibe is great. The owner has a style unlike any other, check his work. Myke Chambers. But there is a hidden gem here. Her name is Drea and she is incredible. Her traditional is phenomenal and from what I understand that’s not even her best style. She has tagged me and my daughter multiple times and I plan on staying on her books for awhile. Give her a concept and let her run with it or give a picture to inspire, either way you will be very happy.

Fantastic experience: I’ve gotten 3 custom AmTrad tattoos from Drea Pappas now and every one has been killer! Most talented and friendliest tattoo artist I’ve had in my 13 years of being inked. Makes me feel heard and respected but brings her own style and recommendations to the table which I greatly appreciate. Not the most affordable shop in town but they earn their pay and that’s what matters! And they do every style, which makes things really easy for us customers. The entire staff is incredible (Gretel, James, Mark, etc.) and the shop is beautiful. Looking forward to meeting the owner one day. The second I leave I’m already dying to come back! SSTC or bust!

The shop has a great vibe—clean, comfortable, and welcoming. My artist, James Padlet, did an outstanding job on my tattoo. Fantastic experience: Absolutely loved my experience here! I wasn’t sure if the tattoo I had in mind would need an appointment or not, so I called ahead and the lovely lady on the phone advised me to do a walk-in. Walked in the next day and the process was quick, efficient, and fun. Got there around 1:45 and walked out by 3. Drea was my artist- she made me feel comfortable and did absolutely gorgeous work. I got a fine line tattoo on my hip, and it came out exactly how I imagined it. Staff is incredibly friendly and the shop itself is sick. Wonderful atmosphere. Really hope to get more pieces from here in the future!

Positive experience: The staff was very friendly and the shop looked great from the lobby, can’t comment on the work of the artist because we never made it into a chair, Tread lightly as a walk in customer. My boyfriend and I walked in around 3:30pm asking to do a few flash tattoos and he was currently with a customer, totally understandable, no problem at all. We were greeted by a super friendly chick who was great about listening to us and what we were looking for. She proceeded to take my information and told us she would call us when he was done to come back because she didn’t want to have us waiting around for hours, again totally understandable and appreciated. BUT, we left and grabbed food for close to THREE hours with no call back, so we decided to go check back in and see what was up. Come to find out within the time we were told we should leave another group of walk ins came in and were taken back!! No phone call to us saying hey they’re here sorry, literally no communication until we went back and were turned down because we weren’t physically there when we were told we could leave. Not cool. We wanted to hopefully make this our routine spot but this leaves a bad taste in our mouth.

Fantastic experience: Love this place! It’s very clean, beautiful, and all the artists there are talented and professional. A year ago I got this wolf off of Benny Beyer’s flash sheet, and yesterday I came back to get this custom Jesus by him. I highly recommend him (as well as all the other artists here - I have many friends who get work done here and I’ve only heard good things). Benny in particular is great - his tattoos are bold and classic, with strong lines and color, and I’ve been very happy with how the wolf has healed. All of his flash is great! I can’t wait to get more work done by Benny and hope I’ll also get the chance to grab some flash from the other artists in the shop. 10/10

Fantastic experience: AWESOME would be the best word to describe our experience at Seven Swords. Four of us went as walk-ins to get smaller tattoos. Everyone we encountered was so kind and patient, particularly Hunter, Angi, Casey, and Sebastian. They are not only great artists but great humans. One friend had a great deal of anxiety and Hunter was wonderfully patient and reassuring. I just cannot say enough about how great they are!

Fantastic experience: If you’re looking for American Traditional tattoos this place is great! Clean, professional, and friendly. We came in to get some flash and left very satisfied with a cowgirl by Ben Red and a wolf by Benny Beyer. I’ll absolutely be coming back to get more work done.

Fantastic experience: Had a large arm piece done as my first tattoo at Seven Sword and it was a great experience. I reached out to Angi Rosa through instragram with some anime style art pieces and we agreed upon one of the pieces that I sent. With a $100 deposit that went towards the total price of the art I booked the next Saturday afternoon available which was a few weeks out. I arrived about 20 minutes early to the shop and filled in the waiver paperwork and there was some water and a clean bathroom readily available for customers. The shop had a good atmosphere and everyone there was nice and friendly. Angi and I discussed the size i wanted to do and placement as well as some changes to the art (both to improve the piece as well as be a better tattoo.) All together the actual tattooing was over about 4.5 hours with two 5ish minute breaks for both of us to stretch out a bit. Angi was professional and friendly and made sure I was ok pain wise. If I get work done in the future she will be the first person I reach out to.

Fantastic experience: Walked in to get a tattoo with my daughter. Friendly, nice, professional, amazing artists! Gave them an idea of what I wanted (a poppy flower-my daughter’s birth flower), he took it and came back with a wonderful perfect design in three different sizes facing both ways. Took me awhile to decide where and which, not once did I feel pressured to accept it “as is”. Great experience. Definitely would recommend!!!! Remember they are cash only. THANK YOU DREW!! Fantastic experience: I’ve been here twice, though I haven’t gotten any work done. I would not hesitate to book any artist here simply because of the customer service I’ve received when I visit. I recently got a sleeve done in Vietnam and I was unsure about some of the shading. Myke has an insanely busy schedule but still made time to look at the work and tell me that nothing needed to be done. He explained the technical process to me, and didn’t lie just to make more money. On top of that, he was super kind. As someone who’s been in the rooms, you can tell Myke has done the work. It’s no wonder he has a few successful businesses. When I’m ready for my next piece, I will strongly consider or recommend any of my friends to book Seven Swords.

Negative experience: I attempted to schedule a tattoo consultation appointment and we agreed to meet at the shop at a certain time. I came at the time we agreed on, but the store was completely closed and no one answered my calls. I do not live in Philly so it was a hassle for me to go all the way over there for no reason.

Fantastic experience: After looking around the area for an artist that does Japanese style tattoos, I came across Angi at Seven Swords. Currently I am over halfway through my sleeve into a chest piece and I am extremely happy with the results so far! Not to mention the Killer arm shave job by Greg. Definitely would recommend this shop to anyone in the area.

Fantastic experience: Ben tattooed a traditional piece of my dog who had passed away. He was so spot on with making the tattoo look exactly like her I was blown away. It’s definitely one of my favorite pieces. The shop was super clean, and everyone was very friendly.

Fantastic experience: Great experience - we’re from out of town but already talking about coming back to Philly to see these guys again. We went for Friday the 13th flash tattoos and we couldn’t be happier. The vibe in the shop is friendly, clean, and hydrated (thank you for the water.) I chose the ghost egg flash - we had just gotten done with brunch and it was calling to me. Benny was as excited as I was to do my egg, and who better to do an egg tattoo than a man named Benny? I am so happy with how it turned out & where we put it. I really appreciated the help deciding on placement. Originally we had agreed on yellow yolk, then he showed me a red and a blue. I wasn’t sure how he was going to use them, but he was confident & excited about it, I trusted him & didn’t ask about his plans. I could feel that it was going to be better than what I could picture. And it was. I can’t imagine my egg looking any other way. I have 3 other tattoos, so I don’t do this often. I really appreciated that he checked in with me throughout the session to make sure I was comfortable. About halfway through the session, I asked Benny if it ever felt weird to him that this was something that would be with me forever and I’d never forget but for him it’s just kind of something he was doing before his lunch break. He gave a really great answer - I’m very much paraphrasing here: he said that he doesn’t think too much about that because it can feel like a lot, but instead focuses on the amount of trust people are putting in him & taking that trust to heart. I trusted him immediately when he said he would be doing my egg, and I think that is in part because he does take that trust so seriously. Hi Benny, if you’re reading this, thank you very much. Egg person to egg person, I am so happy that you were working yesterday and that you did my tattoo. Hi everyone else, if you’re looking for a new artist, consider checking out @bennybeyertattoos My friends had equally great experiences with their flash artists Ben Red and Casey. They were raving about the color work the next day, the amount of fun they had chatting in the chair, and I could hear their laughter all over the studio. Special shout out to Mac and her dog Penny. Neither of them worked in us but they definitely attributed to the great vibes we felt the whole time we were in the shop. I didn’t end up taking a picture of Penny, so if you want to see a cute dog you’ll have to stop in for yourself! TLDR: If doctors had the bedside manner and ability to read your vibe that the team has here we would love the hospital and it would be easy. But they don’t, so come get a tattoo instead.

Fantastic experience: Came here a few times to get tattooed by Jeff Miller. He was a great artist, easy going, and made me feel very comfortable. If I still lived in Philly I would go back. Very clean shop, affordable, with classic tattoo shop décor.

Fantastic experience: I’ve had a forearm tattoo done in one 6 hour session by Reece Farness almost 4 years ago. He’s an amazing artist and everyone there are super friendly and professional. The atmosphere was clean and welcoming. I to this day get compliments on my tattoo and everyone asks where it’s from. The work on my arm still looks incredible.

Fantastic experience: I got a pinup of Amy Winehouse from here about 2 years ago! She still looks awesome, and the tattoo artists are friendly and entertaining to talk with! I even remember messing up my wording when initially scheduling an appointment and they quickly drew up this masterpiece which was awesome of them!! Fantastic experience: Did a little tattoo tourism after finding Doug H at this location (I'm in DC) for the style I wanted. Honestly, the tattoo was spectacular and he put a ton of thought and skill into it that I couldn't have imagined myself. I'm one and done which is the only reason I won't go back- told my wife to taze me if I ever talk about getting another.

Fantastic experience: I got some flash tattooed my Makayla and it was such a great experience. It was my first time in the shop and I'm glad I found it. Great space and everyone was kind. I always let my artist know that sometimes I get lightheaded when being tattooed and Makayla was so cool and checked on me throughout the time and I was so relaxed the whole time. Highly recommend!!

He walked me through the process from beginning to end—and thankfully, not only am I happy with the experience I had, but I’m very happy with my first tattoo!

Fantastic experience: I booked an appointment here for my first tattoo ever with Makayla. I asked for a forearm tattoo with strawberries, flowers and a little bug (Makayla's choice!) and left everything about the design otherwise up to her. She absolutely killed it! I felt very well taken care of and walked out of the shop with the best tattoo I could've asked for. Mak was also really sweet and knew what she was doing. I'll gladly go back to Makayla or even any of the rest of the artists since they're all amazing at their job! Oh - and the shop was very clean, well decorated with tons of cool knickknacks, and the walls were covered in really clean and cool designs! The music they played was really great too, it had such a chill vibe Thanks so much again for making my first tattoo experience an awesome one!

Fantastic experience: I've been to three tattoo shops in the Philly area, and while the other two were good, Seven Swords is phenomenal! The scheduling, the timeliness, and the courtesy are all on point. Most importantly, the artwork is absolutely beautiful. Fantastic experience: I recently had a tattoo that I needed covered up. Reece came up with several ideas for me and helped me with the entire process of choosing my tattoo/knowing the pro's and con's of cover ups. Not only is he so talented but so down to earth and chill! I felt very comfortable at the Philly location and everyone was so welcoming and kind.
