Fantastic experience: Only took a week total from messaging the artist (Bryan or Mystery Ink Tattoo), getting a design, and then getting the whole thing done in a single session. Very easy and high quality experience!

Positive experience: Ugh I hate to leave bad reviews but I feel like this one is warranted. I originally got this koi fish tattoo back in June of 2023. I wanted a fine line tattoo…which I guess is what i got just super fine. I had it completely gone over again a few months after my initial appointment and it still completely faded. Here I am 3 years later booking a coverup appointment :( I have several fine lines that i’ve gotten from other shops and none of them faded the way this one did.

Fantastic experience: I’ve gotten 2 beautiful pieces so far by Bryan! He’s so talented, patient & creative! Also has a great taste in music, which is a huge plus. Definitely recommend going to him with your ideas!

Negative experience: Started talking with someone that claimed to be an artist from this shop after talking he said he also tattos out of his house... i told him what I wanted and where. He said I dont tattoo hands cool gave him another tattoo I wanted he doesnt do that style and the last one he didnt want to do either. So I finally told him id find an artist that can do what I want, at which point he got upset and tried to put me down at which is when I told him I dont like apprentices tattooing me anyway enjoy having less then half the skillset of a decent artist

Negative experience: One star because couldn’t go lower. Jeremiah is unprofessional and will continue to ask and push for pictures after declined from female clients well after the completed piece. Think twice before getting work done by him.

Fantastic experience: I love this place! Alex has done 2 out of the 3 of my tattoos and he does an amazing job! Very nice and very detailed. Not to mention, very talented. The place is very clean and welcoming and all the artists are very friendly. I would definitely recommend this tattoo shop to anyone!

Fantastic experience: Our artist Kapes was amazing! She worked with my wife and I on what we wanted to do, what size, what placement and was very thorough and clean in her setup process. She has a steady, light hand and our tattoos came out exactly how we envisioned them. We were only in town for a day. We called ahead and they asked us to email our ideas and photos to help them set up is coming in. So the shop will work with you as well. Big, open atmosphere. Clean. We would go back if we didn’t live in Florida.

Fantastic experience: Haile is amazing! She was so helpful with my daughter’s nose and navel piercings. She answers all of our questions and walked us through the entire process. I would highly recommend her! Professional, helpful, kind and very informative.

Fantastic experience: This is a super great place. I love Haile, their piercer. She's very nice and gentle and makes sure your piercing is placed where you want it. She's done two of my piercings so far, and I'll definitely continue going here for all my piercing desires. Updated 7/26/2025 5 stars isnt enough stars tbh. As of this year, Haile has done 9 of my piercings and we're planning for way more. She's always been kind and patient with us and takes ample time to make sure placement is perfect. When I have an issue with my jewelry, shes the first one I go to. Please make sure you eat BEFORE your body mod appointments. And being on time helps everyone. Poor planning on your part does not constitute an 'emergency' on theirs. I fear this is common sense. Go get stabbed by Haile.

Fantastic experience: LOVE this place for piercings and tattoos. Haile is all around the best human, and makes sure you have your placement exactly where you want it for piercings. She’s done two of mine, and I plan for her to do the rest! She’s gentle, calm, patient, and has a great personality for this job. Courtney has done an adorable tattoo for me, and she was literally the best. She is so light handed and quick, I could’ve fallen asleep while getting the tattoo. My other tattoos were done by painfully heavy handed artists who repeatedly go over lines, but she did a phenomenal job. She used tegaderm afterwards, and when I removed it, my tattoo was complete healed and perfect. 10/10 would absolutely recommend ❤️

Negative experience: I do not recommend Studio 222 for piercings. Haile was neither friendly nor kind to us, so we left and went to Standard Ink as a walk-in. Everyone at Standard Ink was extremely kind to my daughter, who was nervous for her first ear piercing (age 14). While Haile at Studio 222 acted bothered by our presence and did not want to spend time on us aside from handing over the consent form, the folks at Standard Ink gave my daughter time to eat a snack from their snack cart, took the time to explain the process and aftercare, got her a water when she felt faint afterward, and also had a better selection of studs to choose from.

Fantastic experience: I had my first "real" piercing experience here, and it was lovely!. Extremely professional, helpful, and clean. I had Snake Bites done here and my piercer was very helpful telling my about aftercare, and even let me text her about any questions or concerns! 10/10 highly recommend.

Negative experience: Inquired and never heard back. It is very frustrating as this is not the first time this has happened. I feel that if a requested tattoo does not fit an artists style, that they should at least tell the customer they cannot do it.

Negative experience: My friend and I went in to get matching tattoos, however, my friend was finished 5 minutes before I was and paid $150 for her tattoo, while I had to pay $225. They were the EXACT SAME STENCIL. We were not made aware of how much the tattoos would be or that each artist had different “hourly rates” otherwise, we would’ve just used the same artist. They did a good job on the tattoos but I will definitely not be back.

Fantastic experience: Haile pierced my daughter's ears (her first piercings!) and she made the whole experience welcoming and relaxing. Zero complaints from my 7 year old. No tears! The homemade mixture they give you to spray on the piercings daily worked like a charm. Would recommend to anyone wanting to get pierced, and definitely for a kid for the first time (pro-needle Mom here, no piercing guns on my kid's ears!). Thank you!

Fantastic experience: My partner got her first tattoo from Dacia for her birthday in May 2021. Dacia was so kind and helpful that when my partner decided two years later to get another tattoo to honor her three daughters, we found Dacia, who was now at Studio 222, and went up to Chattanooga again. Dacia of course did another outstanding job, and I got a tattoo myself from Alejandro, who did absolutely outstanding work as well—the general design I chose was fairly simple, but even within that simple framework his artistry and detail work were amazing. We left the studio that afternoon feeling like we'd known them both forever, and I can confidently state that anytime we decide to get additional ink done in the future, we will always be coming back to 222—no matter how far from Chattanooga we are or how long it takes to get there.

Fantastic experience: Haile and Dace we're so helpful when I came in to get a piercing. It was one I had gotten done several times and didn't have it done correctly in the past. They took their time to listen and figure out how to make it work me. Very trustworthy, so I'll be back next time I need another piercing!

Fantastic experience: Came to see Robert Barker for a flash tattoo and had a great experience! The shop was very spacious and clean. Robert did an amazing job with the tattoo and I'm very happy with how it came out. I'm definitely going to come back to him for future tattoos! Also, they have a lot of events on their Instagram page, like raffles and flash sales, which is really cool.

Fantastic experience: I am in Chattanooga on vacation and felt so connected that I wanted to get a tattoo. I walked into Studio 222 without an appointment to see if they had any openings. I met with Campbell and set up an appointment for the next day. She took my idea and after drawing it up emailed it over to me. After a few minor changes (that she was happy to do) it was exactly what I wanted. When I went to the appointment it was professional, clean and Campbell took the time to make sure the placement was just right. The whole process was fun and the conversation was easy. I highly recommend Campbell for her artistry, professionalism and ability to connect with her clients.

Fantastic experience: Emily was amazing! We made a last minute appointment for my friends birthday. We were all a tad nervous because we had a bad experience with a piercer before back in South Carolina. We messaged her through Instagram after researching throughout the weekend, while we were in Chattanooga. She was able to work us in! I got a daith and two cartilage piercings on my left ear to match the same piercings on my right ear. My other two friends got a mixture of conch, lobe, and cartilage piercings as well. She took the time to make sure everything was even and was very nice and calming. She even gave us aftercare solution, and a paper with helpful information and jewelry size. She used threadless jewelry and showed us how to use it as well. I definitely recommend Emily. The environment was nice as well!

One of my new tattoos is on a part of my body that I didn’t want others in the shop to see, so he took the time to put up some partitions for my privacy. We had a really nice chat while he tattooed, and I felt very comfortable the whole time. Cannot recommend this shop enough! Cannot recommend Jaleen enough. We came to decisions together and communicated for me to get the best piece I’ve gotten so far. He’s great with detail, line work, shading, and black work. It was a vintage illustration and he was able to get all the original details - thank you Kishan!! I’ll be coming back for more pieces from him.

We wanted to make sure the place we went offered the best experience for my mom as it was her first tattoo and super important that the artist was able to do something special for us. That is when we found Jaleen at Studio 222. Jaleen was super professional and has a very steady hand. He was so gentle with my mom and made the experience for her top notch. Not only that, but Jaleen is an amazing artist who we will make every effort to come back to when we want anything else done. And we live in Indiana.

Fantastic experience: Studio 222 is amazing and Jaleen is an outstanding professional artist. He has blessed me with two of the most beautiful tattoos. The first is a memorial piece for my sister and another memorial piece for my grandmother. He suggested the drop shadows and highlights to help show depth and just makes the piece stand out so beautifully. Emily was very thorough in making sure the placement was correct, straight & symmetrical. Emily talked to me throughout the whole process & was telling me exactly what she was going to do prior to doing it so I wasn’t surprised by anything. Emily made me feel so comfortable & not once did I have a bad interaction with her. Emily also checked on me throughout the whole process making sure I was okay, not in too much pain & even offered to get me a water if needed. Fantastic experience: I went into the shop today and got a septum piercing by Emily. She was so friendly, extremely professional, knowledgeable, clean, and made me feel so welcome and comfortable. I felt like I was just hanging out with a friend. The piercing turned out perfect and I could not be happier!! I also got a tattoo by Kiishan right after the piercing. Same thing. Very friendly, professional, knowledgeable, clean, and comfortable. A lot of times when I go into tattoo shops, I feel very out of place, or am made to feel like a ding dong or I’m just an inconvenience. But Kiishan made me feel like he was happy to be there and happy to be putting his artwork on my arm forever. He also asked for my input on some of the minor details to make sure it was exactly what I wanted. It turned out better than I could have imagined. To sum it up… I am just in town visiting a friend before I go back home to Arkansas, but I will make it my mission to go see Kiishan and Emily every time I’m in town in the future. Cannot wait to get more work done by the both of them. Thanks again SO MUCH to the both of you.

Fantastic experience: I got my ears pierced here today and Andrew was absolutely phenomenal. He was super kind and made the whole experience easy, comfortable, and fun. The shop was clean and bright and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a piercing or tattoo!
