Fantastic experience: I had a walk in tattoo done by Rob. It was his first day working at uppity and he didn’t even have all his gear unpacked when I sat in his chair and he still listened to everything I wanted for a custom Tatt and he listened when I told him I had a connective tissue disorder and it make it harder for my skin to heal. I was very pleased with his work and now that it’s been a little while I can confidently say that his tattoo healed up beautifully! I’ve gotten a few tattoos at Uppity and have been satisfied every time!

Fantastic experience: Whitney was great! Made me felt so at ease. Definitely coming back. Isaiah.. I believe his name was..did awesome on my husband's spider.

Negative experience: I didn’t have experience with tattoos in the states when I went here for the first time. But now that I do, I realize the owner scammed me BIG time. I’ve gotten tatted in multiple other countries before at low prices. I just thought the US artists were expensive but the owner quoted me $400!!! For a 4x4 tattoo WITH NO SHADING. Just a character LOL. I brought it down to $350 and just thought that was the norm. This was HORRIBLE. Owner takes advantage of people that don’t have any knowledge… the tattoo I got was worth $100 MAX. Now I see on their IG page they’re quoting a half sleeve with shading and detail at $500. That’s just crazy lol. These people don’t care about you. The tattoo artist was really sweet but still she didn’t speak on the price, which I understand. I have fault too as I accepted this ABSURD price but shame on the owner!

Positive experience: Fantastic artist and very friendly. Relaxed atmosphere and beautiful work! Only downfall, BRING CASH.. The fees were over 100$ just to use the card. The fees, for using a card, are alot.. The art that my husband and I received, exceeded my expectations!!JUST BEAUTIFUL!

Fantastic experience: I went there yesterday so my child's father could get a couple tattoos for his birthday. I ended up getting one myself of a tribal wolf with my son's name. Everyone was so nice, helpful and made the experience fun. They went out of their way to download an app to find the exact font that I wanted. 24 hours later, everything is still looking exactly as I imagined in my head. I'll leave another review with a picture of the healed tattoo and post their names when I remember what they were. 10 out of 10 would recommend. Thanks guys and gals!

Fantastic experience: My daughter and I have gone to Uppity for several years for piercings. We have also sent friends here. It is a clean shop, and everyone is laid back / easy to talk to. Stephen Peterson is a super friendly and very talented tattoo artist. He did super cute mother/daughter tattoos for us, and we couldn’t be more pleased. He was very responsive to Facebook messages, quick to fit us into his schedule, and did a fantastic job. We will definitely be returning to him in the future!

Negative experience: DO NOT GET A PIERCING HERE. Piercer is sweet but very unprofessional. No proof of sterilization, she lied about the metal of the jewelry, and not to mention she didn’t pierce my actual navel when I asked for a belly button piercing. A huge waste of money.

Negative experience: Can't speak to their tattoos but my sister and I went in to get her belly button pierced. Fairly procedure, right? within 2 days of having it pierced, her whole belly button area was very infected (and my sister has ALL the piercings). she went to another shop and they told her the piercer did it all wrong and had to remove it. ultimately an enormous waste of time and money. The piercer also told my sister she has a "wavy belly", which I'm surprised you can sleep with yourself at night telling a girl in her 20's struggling with body image that. Absolutely atrocious experience.

Fantastic experience: Danielle and Daniel did the damn thing!!!! My bestie and I couldn’t be more happy with the results of our matching tattoos!! This was the fifth shop we called for a walk in! It is a very detailed tattoo, so we were willing to switch up whatever we needed to with the tattoo!! They were both very thorough in explaining things to us! Which I loved! It showed they both knew what they were doing and talking about!! In the end we got what we wanted and didn’t really haven’t to change much!! Fantastic experience: I am so in love with my tattoo. Daniel made me feel so comfortable after knowing I was nervous due to another tattoo artist messing up another tattoo of mine . He explained everything he was doing down to the care of the tattoo. The other artist were very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be going back .

Negative experience: i got my snake bites here done and it was awful, first when the lady was marking the placement she kept messing up to the point she handed me the pen and had me mark it myself. then after i finally got my dots lined up perfectly she pierced them and missed the dot on my left one. they are properly spaced but one is visibly lower than the other. then, the jewelry they put in my piercings was WAY too small. there was no room for swelling and by the next day it was very swollen and painful, getting eaten by my lip. i had to go to another piercing shop to get longer jewelry. overall bad experience, their tattoos seem good but would never return for a piercing.

Fantastic experience: I’ve received a total of 3 tattoos here from 2 artists, all the tattoos came out great. Daniel Collin’s is my go to, he did my last 2 and they came out amazing! They’re so vibrant and he’s on the lighter handed side so it’s a great experience as the client. He has good bedside manner and you can tell he really loves what he does and takes his art seriously.

Negative experience: I participated in a Halloween promo last year and was super pleased so I purchased a gift certificate for my daughter in December for her birthday. Like most young adult she held on to it until she could afford to get the tattoo she wanted. Now they are saying that the gift certificate is void. There was no expiration listed on it and honestly it hasn't even been a year. Hope they enjoyed taking money for doing nothing. Very unprofessional, I could see if it had been a year+ but it hasn't. They do great work honestly but how do you not honor a gift certificate that was purchased from the owner at the shop? Get real.

Fantastic experience: This was my first shop experience with tattooing. While I shopped around for an artist, Michael Millyons and Daniel Collins were both wonderful at answering my questions in a timely manner and very patient with my lack of experience. Daniel Collins was my artist for my first shop tattoo and that was also a wonderful experience! Not only did he answer additional questions while I was there in full and so I could learn the process, he held great conversation throughout the whole process. I am very happy with my piece! They both do very beautiful work! Also, there was a sweet lady out front who is the mother of the owner! She was very nice to have a conversation with as well! AND SHE DOES PIERCINGS! Adding that to my list for my teen daughters and I! I WILL BE BACK!

Fantastic experience: Saw Patron at the Chicago tattoo festival. He was the only artist who even talked to me about a cover up. He did a fantastic job hiding a 14 year old tattoo. I can see the old one in about 3 places, but only because I know where to look. Even before I left, I was getting compliments and everyone was shocked that it was a cover up. I’m very happy with his work. The price was reasonable. The only area where he was off was in the time estimate. Took around 3.5-4 hours when he quoted 2-3, but if he takes the extra time to make it look good, who cares?

Fantastic experience: Took my daughters there for piercings. My youngest 15 got her nose done. It was quick friendly and looked great. Second daughter got her vertical lebret don. It was perfectly aligned and dead center. The jewelry was a little short for the swelling but other than that everyone was amazing. Fantastic experience: Highly recommend! The artists were friendly and the place has a nice vibe. Tattoo artist Stephen Peterson did best friend tattoos for myself and my friend. We had an idea and Stephen was able to improvise and execute it perfectly! If you want or need a new tattoo, Stephen Peterson and Uppity Tattoos is where you want to go!

Fantastic experience: I got my septum pierced here and had a bad experience and by fault of my own didn’t address my concern of it being crooked and got a response within 24 hours and they gave me credit towards a tattoo that went and I got a few days later and it is beautiful!!! Idk who my artist was I forgot his name unfortunately but he has AMAZING work and the people in there are beyond friendly and sweet!! Definitely recommend

Positive experience: This review is moreso a criticism on the management of their Friday the 13th Flash Sale in hopes they can improve for future customers. This isn't directed to any of the artists or their work. My significant other wanted to get a tattoo with their friend group and I said I'd pay it for them. What we thought was originally $25 actually had an added amount as "tip" (putting it past $30+, which my SO paid the tip portion), and it's all paid up front, which is kinda a really questionable business decision. I'm all for tipping, but clarification would've been nice beforehand and I feel like that should go to the artists AFTER the work is done. Regardless, we went with it and waited over 3 hours, and the estimate would've been another hour at minimal. So we went to the desk to ask if they'd take us tomorrow, which was a yes. However, after asking if we'd get priority next day for waiting in line for hours, the response was basically along the lines of "no" and that we'd potentially have to wait more hours, and we didn't have time for that when we had rehearsals for an important event tomorrow. In addition to this, they were still taking more customers despite already having a lengthy list to go off of and having no limit of how many stencils a single customer could get. So in the end, we never ended up getting the tattoo and never got our money back since they had some papers saying "No Refunds" around the shop and the last thing I want to do is debate in a tattoo shop setting when artists are hard at work. Overall, our Flash Sale experience left a lot to be desired and I hope they can maybe learn going forward! [Edit] After a reply to the prior review, we revisited and they upheld their word, which we were both grateful for. I can't give 5 stars because what was stated prior shouldn't have occurred to begin with, but I'm more than happy to meet halfway and give 4 out 5. The fact they offered and kept their word after an inconvenience speaks volumes. The process was also quick with no hassle and we got the moneys worth. Thanks Uppity Tattoos!

Fantastic experience: Friday 13th flash sale was great! Got my first tattoo, a spider, yesterday. They had a food stand there with great fried foods. Staff and owners were friendly and professional. We will be returning soon. Keep up the great work. Shout out to the owner (the wife) for running such a smooth operation and keeping your composure when people were lined up around the block to get in.

Fantastic experience: My 3 teens and I drove from Cincy to their Friday 13th flash sale and had a great experience, this was their 1st tattoo. The wait was very long as expected on a high volume flash sale day, but it was well worth it. They had a food stand out front with some amazing fried oreos and funnel cakes. The staff definitely handled the pressure well. I felt like the owners had a great system in place to handle all of the customers. The owners were very friendly and personable, she took the time out to chat with customers even though they were lined down the street to get inside. We will definitely be back for more Ink. Thank you for giving them a great 1st tattoo experience.

Negative experience: Went to the “Halloween flash sale” never again. Hours and hours of waiting with nothing but unorganized chaos! Having to pay upfront with no refunds. Instead of paying the artist directly. People that were behind you somehow getting their tattoo now before you. The place definitely had way too many people inside with not enough space. Only was offered coming back tomorrow because of how long we waited but not everyone got the offer. But was told there was no priority for the people from the day before.

Negative experience: Please be cautious when going here for piercings. I called and asked if they had availability for a septum piercing and they had me come in. I got there and one lady I believe people were calling her momma or something told me she would not be able to pierce me because she doesn’t feel comfortable doing septum piercings… I should’ve walked out then. I let some guy do it. He hurt me extremely bad. I’ve had my septum pierced 2x prior and NEVER have I felt this much pain and he pierced it crooked so I ended up taking it out. Absolutely horrible. Again.. PLEASE be cautious when getting a piercing here.

Negative experience: One of the tattoo artists at the tattoo convention was so rude to my friend. The artist made fun of her tattoo and said it looked like it didn't cost a lot of money. I guess he was defending his astronomical prices at the convention. It wasn't a remark you make to someone when you're trying to get their business. With such an unbelievable talent as his competition, he should not have acted that way. All we said was next booth.

Negative experience: Rude and unprofessional. Everyone there was high which probably explains why after making an appt and driving 30 minutes, they said they didn't even have the right staff or the jewelry for the piercing that was scheduled despite multiple appt confirmations. Instead of taking accountability, got really rude and tried gaslighting as a way out and then went and posted an immature b and unprofessional status instead of trying to fix the issue.... owner obviously needs therapy and a couple business classes before trying to run a business

Fantastic experience: I’ve gotten a couple tattoos from Uppity, both done by Nicole Stringer. Both times Nicole has done a fantastic job and the environment was very clean and friendly! I would definitely recommend Nicole to anyone because you will not be disappointed!

Negative experience: Edit: A business that meets critique with a "your fault" attitude is not worth anyones time. It was not my knee, I've had tattoos on bone before. It was caused by technical application. I did communicate with the artist. She was unapproachable & uninterested, I did not want her to touch my skin again. I wish no ill on anyone, may she continue to grow. You can have bad days but this wasn't one of them. Her attitude & skill as an artist should not be standard as "above & beyond", that's neglectful to future clients. _________ Nicole was communicative & pleasant over message. Asked to pay for my piece upfront. Unusual but not a problem. She was the most painful tattoo I've ever gotten. I bled so much the first 12hrs & noticed some blowout from her dragging the needle so heavily. I paid for shading and left with only line work due to her skill level and attitude. I was never offered a refund for the difference between getting line work only and a shaded tattoo. Shaky and overlapping lines. One of which I pointed out to her at the end of our appointment to which she went "oh" and just made it thicker to cover up the out-of-bounds ink. I've never been disappointed in a tattoo before as they're all perfectly imperfect, but that combined with her attitude deserves a heads up to anyone making an informed decision. I am extremely disappointed in the lack of professionalism, the curt attitude, and deception between the digital work & what's capable of being done on skin. Withheld money without completing work, unnecessary trauma to the skin being so heavy handed, poor bedside manner.

Jay did my tattoos just about a week ago, and it was a very pleasant experience, she made sure I was comfy and relaxed the whole time and the tattoos were brilliantly done!!! Fantastic experience: When I messaged Uppity tattoos today, I heard back almost immediately from the shop. Patron asked me to come in. The first thing I noticed was the cleanliness of the shop. The second thing was I was greeted immediately. All of the staff were extremely friendly. Patron looked over my tattoo idea, and helped me find the best spot. Him and his staff made me laugh during the tattoo and made me feel comfortable. They treated me like a friend, not just a customer. I have 17 tattoos by 16 different artists. I will be going back to Patron and Uppity Tattoos for my next tattoos. While I was there, I also got to witness other artists at work. I was very impressed by their techniques and knowledge as well. Five stars. If I could give more, I would.

Fantastic experience: I got a cover up tattoo. Patron does awesome work and he was so patient with me. All the artist that work there was so nice and welcoming. I definitely recommend this studio.

Negative experience: The piercings ended up not being straight and after only one week, one rejected. The jewelry used as well was not the best for the piercings I received.

Negative experience: My daughter Brittney had gone to Uppity in Huber and it was a disaster from start to finish. This was supposed to have been a birthday present for my daughter, and it would be one she wished she could have returned. Some backstory... Brittney had known Dustin Duhl from another studio for some time from previous work, & I told her she would regret not going to him... she did. Miesha Irene was met with delays that morning, and it progressed downhill from there. Real life can/does happen, but when you work in a industry of permanent ink, you don't "rush" to get back to it. From dropping the Tattoo Machine (leaving a permanent mark on her arm), to the constant smoke breaks and rushed experience, the end result was... well, bad. The line work atrocious, uneven & definitely not what someone should pay $700 for. People in the area had made mention of this shop and Miesha winning second place in a contest known as Ink Master (to which we would find out was a competition out of state and not affiliated with the show - all in the words, right?). The unfortunate is Brittney had to wait until it healed before getting it fixed, and she knew exactly who she trusted to do it... Dustin Duhl - who was now at ZAP Tattoos. Obviously, this was going to take MORE $$ to fix, but upon meeting with Dustin and the folks at Zap, I personally was blown away. Their studio is fricken incredible, & there's some incredible talent here that actually COULD compete in the REAL Ink Master, not some knock off competition out of state. Dustin went to work, spending quite a bit coloring, fixing and being precise with understanding what Brittney was looking for. Most importantly, he and the staff there were completely professional. I appreciated this because you can see where the tattoo is located, and this is my daughter (Marine dad). In the end, Brittney was really happy with the touch up. I genuinely wish the original had been done the right way and not seemed so rushed, as I am sure there are many other artists out there whom have good portfolios of their work. However, this is not an industry you can race through. This is not an industry you can take shortcuts with because the end result is a permanent reflection of that work, and no one remembers the good - they do remember the bad. This tattoo missed the mark for a $700 investment. Semper Fi.

Fantastic experience: I received a tattoo from Nicole, and I had an amazing experience. She explained the process beforehand, talked me through the best placement, and was so respectful and considerate the entire session. There was a time my bottom end was fairly exposed due to the placement of my tattoo. She offered for when people came inside to cover it some way if it made me more comfortable. She allowed me to take breathers or breaks when the needle was too much for my tolerance. She was welcoming, friendly, and casual - but so professional. It felt like a friend! I felt so comfortable. Her procedure was sanitary and clean. I loved it! My tattoo is clean and looks amazing and the experience was 100/10. Thank you Nicole!

Fantastic experience: Miesha Irene has my forever gratitude.
