Fantastic experience: My husband and I just went and each got tattoos together tonight for our little valentines thing. I got Orozco, mine was small and quick, maybe ten minutes tops, it was PERFECT! My husband got Grim, he got our 2 childrens names in celtic. OMG AMAZING! what really stood out to me is all of the artists here show each other their work at the end and everyone gives so much praise. There is a really great vibe going on in here, and a ton of talent! Total hidden gem in Modesto, and we will definitely be back!

Fantastic experience: NoahsTattoo aka Muhammad is absolutely amazing! He’s done two pieces on me so far, including bringing an 11-year-old portrait of my late husband back to life. He also did a beautiful family of bears tattoo that represents my family . Both turned out incredible. He even did a piece for my mom, and she loved it just as much. He’s my go-to artist for sure, so talented, patient, and detailed. The amount of care he puts into every piece truly shows in his work. Highly recommend him!

Fantastic experience: I got my first tattoo done yesterday on 9/12/25. Jenn was my artist and she did a phenomenal job. She was courteous, kind and supportive. She took the reference photo and made something better! As it was my first time she let me decide if I needed breaks but in the end I didn't need any. Her skill with the needle was amazing.

Fantastic experience: Jenn, you rock! My 85 y/o mom and I went today for matching tattoos, Jenn was awesome and made each tattoo just a little different to fit us individually. I appreciate your kindness to my mom and the way the shop made her feel so comfortable. I was impressed in the way all the artists support each and share their work with each other and the customers. Fantastic experience: Jenn is truly one of a kind, and I feel so lucky to have found her as my tattoo artist. From the moment I met her, she made me feel completely comfortable and cared for. She’s not only incredibly talented, but also one of the sweetest, kindest, and most understanding people I’ve ever met. Her energy is amazing, calm, positive, and uplifting which makes the whole experience so enjoyable. Jenn really listens to what you want and puts her heart into making sure your tattoo is exactly what you envision (and honestly, even better). She has such an eye for detail and her skill is incredible, her line work, shading, and creativity are on another level. She can take any idea you have and bring it to life with her artistic eye. But what makes her stand out most is how much she genuinely cares about her clients. She checks in often, makes sure you’re comfortable, and treats you like a friend, not just a customer. I have walked away with multiple tattoo I absolutely love, and a good experience thanks to her kindness and personality. Jenn’s energy shines through her work, and I can’t wait to come back for all my pieces with her. If you want an artist who’s not only amazingly skilled but also has the sweetest soul, Jenn is the one.

Negative experience: Called at approximately 6pm in Sunday, asked if they do two tats eight letters each...girl I phone was cool,said yeah come down...then we arrived about 10 min

Fantastic experience: The shop is clean and inviting, the staff are all very friendly, and Rich was super fast. I called and he had a break in his schedule and was able to fit me in for a design he had pre-drawn. It's healing up nicely and I'm glad he was able to find the time. Would definitely go back next time I'm in town.

Negative experience: Extremely disappointed with our experience working with Jenn. My husband and I previously have had great experiences here working with Marina. Unfortunately she was not available for a couple weeks so we were open to working with a different tattoo artist, we spoke with Jenn a week before to schedule and coordinate. The day of appt we called to reconfirm our appt at 4pm & they explained Jenn was going to still be busy working with another client so we said we will accommodate and come at 4:30pm. We drove over an hour to get there because of traffic we’re 10 minutes late. As soon as we got there Jenn forgot to greet us and basically said she has no time for us because of her next engagement. As disappointed as I was, still considered rescheduling with her but she seems to have limited flexibility & the vibe seemed off. She didn’t bother even looking at the work I wanted and completely dismissed us. I am in sales and you should absolutely never burn a loyal repeat customer to your business. Definitely need to work on your customer service because that was very bad.

Negative experience: My wife and I returned for her second tattoo here because of the excellent experience she had with Marina. We scheduled an appointment with Jenn a week in advance and confirmed it with the studio by phone on the day of. They requested we come slightly later, so we adjusted our plans and arrived at 4:30 PM to accommodate her time. Unfortunately, upon arrival at 440pm, she immediately informed us that she had another client and could no longer see us. Despite our flexibility and efforts to work around her schedule, she was unwilling to help or find a solution. Her response felt dismissive, especially given the occasion, this tattoo was meant to commemorate our anniversary. We left extremely disappointed. While we previously had a great experience here, this visit fell far below expectations. We hope the studio re-evaluates how it handles appointments and customer care. At this time, we cannot recommend this location whatsoever.

We didn’t wait long, and me, my mom, and my sister all got tattoos we adore. Safe to say we left very happy and will be going back in the future!

From the start with checking in and letting the artists know what we’d like, the consultation, the process in getting tattooed, the whole experience was just above and beyond. The establishment was really homey and professional too. It just felt welcoming and all about you and making you feel good about the experience. My favorite part was how excited they get about the work they do for you. They’re just as proud of what they do for you as what you’re getting done. I came in with an idea that was important to me and Jenn delivered in such a big way. I could not be happier. Noah did my husbands neck tattoo and he did a great job and he was super friendly, professional, and since my husband was waiting for me he made sure his was wiped up and cleaned up nice again before we left. They just go the extra mile. I also love that Jenn wasn’t afraid to offer an idea that made my tattoo stand out and I trusted her vision because everything she did thus far was on point. It was a small thing but it made a huge difference. If you need another reason, they’re super clean, the cleanest shop I’ve ever been to and I thought the shop before them was clean. You will not be disappointed. I’ll be booking my next tattoo with Jenn for sure and I can’t wait :) All of the artists are exceptional. Check them out.

Fantastic experience: Wifey and I popped in last week to get some work done to commemorate our anniversary. This was my first tattoo experience, so I was a little nervous going in, but that all dissipated as soon as I walked in the doors. The gentleman at the front desk made us feel right at home, and the vibe of the shop in general was fantastic (esp the soundtrack!). Our artist - Noah - was very attentive to what we wanted done, and the work turned out FANTASTIC. Will 100% be doing more business here in the future!

Fantastic experience: Always great vibes in the shop this is my second time getting tattooed here my first time was with Noah and then I was tattooed today by marina. All the artists are so nice, the shop is cool and an all around great place to get tattooed. They also offer numbing spray which not a lot of shops do.

Fantastic experience: Dying Art is by far the cleanest, most well decorated shop I’ve ever been in. The entire staff is so friendly and welcoming. You can tell everyone there really loves what they do. Not to mention everyone is so talented! I saw Rich today for my leg piece. He did a fantastic job! He was super quick too for such a large tattoo. (The flowers and bird) I also appreciate that they are pro numbing agent. I wouldn’t have been able to get through the shading or color on my knee without it.

Fantastic experience: Had Monster Bob do mine, really recommend if you go for clean lines and a great light shading. Can do dark work too and is a very chill guy. He was quick, efficient, and made sure it was exactly what I wanted. Overall 10/10 experience. As soon as you walk in, you get greeted with a bunch of smiles and people ready to tattoo you up. They made my first time experience very enjoyable and welcoming and I appreciate that since I had a bit of anxiety coming . Will be coming back in the future guaranteed. Fantastic experience: I called about a walk-in on Sunday, and not only did they have availability, but the artist sounded excited about my idea. My artist was Marina, and she did a fantastic job! I wanted a lightning bolt and she free handed it for me. She was very detailed and it came out very realistic. She had an extremely steady hand and was fun to talk to. I think I was in and out in less than 30 minutes and it's healing beautifully. I will definitely be requesting her next time.

Negative experience: First let me start by saying I always give someone grace but this situation is pretty unforgivable. I contacted this business by phone and was instructed to come in for a one on one consult. I went to the shop and was immediately paired with artist, Marina. I had all my drawings printed out in a folder and briefly discussed my vision. Marina told me to come back the following Friday and she’d have the sketch ready. The next Friday comes I show up at the parlor and she tells me she hasn’t worked on it yet. I was a little set back but said okay no problem how about the next Friday. She says sure and tells me she’ll send me pictures during the week for me to approve or change and asked me to pay 100$ to hold the appt. I was fine with that and did so. The following Thursday comes around and I have not heard from her so I text her and say “hey my appt is tomorrow do you have the drawing ready” she tells me partially but it’s not a good draft yet and she’ll send me a pic of it later today. I do get it finally at 1 in the morning. It was basically a rough draft but looked okay. So I proceed to arrive for my appt. She shows me the sketch, I ask some questions. We’re both in agreement and away we go. It was about a 3 hour appt. This was a memorial tattoo for my son who had passed away 11 months ago. It was extremely important to me. The problem comes when she was on the last part of his name. I have no idea what happened but she screwed up his middle name, not leaving herself enough room so it was just all smashed together and to make matters worse she added black on top of the red, telling me it will make the letters pop! Plus it was crooked compared to his first name. It turned what could have been a pretty awesome tat into a huge disappointment and now I have to alter my vision and the meaning of that tattoo to get it covered up. I’d post a pic but not sure how to do that.

She was very welcoming, gentle, and would ask me if I was okay. For it being my first tattoo , she was absolutely perfect. I found my artist ! Thank you so much , I love my piece !!

Fantastic experience: I got my first ever tattoo done today by sweettoothjenn. She was super friendly, made sure I was as comfortable as possible, and did such a nice job on my tattoo! The lines look very clean and the colors are great. The rest of the staff was very welcoming and the whole shop had great vibes. My husband and I will definitely be coming back again!

Fantastic experience: Dying Art Tattoo has amazing & friendly artists, I had the pleasure of working with Kristyann to get a beautiful piece that had my daughter's footprint and birth flowers, she also covered a previous tattoo I had with ease. She made sure everything was what I wanted and also gave her ideas on what would look visually pleasing on the skin. The shop is super clean and has a very inviting atmosphere the moment you enter their doors. A wonderful overall experience, I will always recommend this shop!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been wanting a Medusa tattoo ever since I found out her deeper meaning, and one of my old classmates Marina posted she had just completed her apprenticeship. After looking at her profile of how well she does women’s faces I knew I wanted her too be the one to give me my Medusa. She did a far beyond amazing job, and literally everyone that has seen it so far is also falling in love with my Medusa Marina blessed me with. The whole shop had great vibes and all the other artists were super kind and encouraging while marina was tattooing me. I will definitely be returning in the future for some well needed ink therapy! Fantastic experience: Been coming to this shop since the beginning of the year and have loved every minute of being there! The owners and their artists are all great people and fantastic artists all wrapped in one. So far I've gotten 5 pieces done by Sweettooth Jenn (who is dope as hell) and will definitely be getting more work done by her in the future. That said, I do plan on getting a couple pieces done by their other artists as time goes on. Great atmosphere, great people, and great tattoos. Can't really ask for more in a shop can ya? Definitely give them a chance the next time you're looking go get any work done, they won't disappoint! (Pictures are of my 3 most recent tattoos at time of review)

Fantastic experience: I got my first tattoo here a couple days ago, and I love it so much! It was done by Marina and she absolutely killed it. It is exactly what I wanted and I can't wait to see how it looks when it heals. Everyone was very nice and welcoming, would definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience: I've been wanting to get this Dark Fairy Tattoo for 10+ years now but I could never find the right person. Marina was that person and she did an absolute amazing job. My daughter and her friend have gotten worked done by her previously and I saw how awesome she did their tattoos. I knew she was the right person for my Dark Fairy tattoo. Everyone in that tattoo shop are amazing and so kind. They even fit us in for some touch ups. We were so thankful. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Thank you Jennica for my amazing tattoo. So, my baby girl passed away recently, and I wanted a tattoo of her to keep her memory alive. I just wanted a fine line silhouette of her and her name. And Jennica delivered!! The line work was straight and smooth. She took a picture of her and made the silhouette in minutes. It looks just like her. Her energy was amazing. She was so happy to help me cherish my baby's memory and I'm appreciative of that. I will be coming back to her for my future work!

Fantastic experience: This is THE place to go for your tattoo needs. Great environment, awesome people, and SICK tattoo artists. I got my tattoo by Bob aka monsterbob. I gave him a basic idea and let him run with it in his unique style. He killed it. I've gotten so many compliments on this one. Go here if you want a tattoo you won't regret.

Fantastic experience: I was in town visiting family and spur of the moment idea to get a tattoo while I was there. Jennica was able to take me in super short notice on the same day I asked if they could take a walk-in. Jennica was professional, spunky, and very excited to do my tattoo. The shop was clean, nice, and the environment was friendly. If she remembers me, and if she is still at Dying Art Tattoo I will make this a tradition to get inked by her every time I visit.

Fantastic experience: I have been on the hunt for a tattoo shop/artist for about two months. I went to 3 tattoo shops and contacted 2 artists and received either no answer and treated rudely. This weekend I went to the mall and before I went home, I decided to check around the area for tattoo shops. Dying Art Tattoos was right around the corner, so I decided to stop in and hopefully get a consultation on what I wanted. It is such a cool shop. It was very clean and the décor was cool. It had a really good vibe. Marina was the first person I met. She was engaging and nice, things that I had yet to experience so far in my search. She made me feel very comfortable. I explained what I wanted and she gave me some really good feedback. She let me know that I could either do one of the tattoos today or I could come back at a different time if I wanted to think about it. Since I was there, I really wanted a tattoo. Marina sketched something up for me and it was gorgeous! I was a little anxious since it had been about twenty years since my last tattoo. But Marina was great! She set me at ease and I was relaxed and calm throughout. I will definitely be back soon for another one!

Fantastic experience: Walked away with an amazing tattoo from this place that was exactly what i envisioned. I told my artist (marinara.tattoos) what images I wanted included and she created the perfect design. It was a big piece so I spent a lot of time in thr shop. Everyone was super friendly, it was super clean and the music selection was on point. Despite the long drive from Sacramento to Modesto, I will defintely be returning for more. Totally worth it!

Marina was my artist; Not only did she create the design herself, but she was so kind and made my time in the shop amazing. Marina was the artist that helped me with everything from designing the tattoo , making sure I was comfortable throughout the process and making sure that I was happy with the finalized piece. Fantastic experience: Easily my favorite tattoo shop I’ve been to, I walked in without an appointment and not only was Rich able to do my tattoo he was super excited about what I had in mind. Additionally he had positive feedback to adjust some small details that in my opinion made the tattoo better. I will continue to come here whenever I’m in Modesto.

The entire shop is so friendly and is always commenting and enthusiastic of everyone’s work. Such a friendly group of very talented artists.
