Negative experience: I spent $1,500 on a cover-up and deeply regret it. The artist was extremely cocky and dismissed my concerns throughout the process. What I ended up with was a horrendous mermaid that looks nothing like what was discussed. When I complained, the shop owner immediately sided with his artist and told me to just come back to “get it fixed.” After that experience, no thanks. Very disappointing and not worth the money. Had to pay a professional to get it fixed.

We organically vibed upon meeting, and he made the process super easy, comfortable, and most of all fun. He was impeccably precise, clean, focused, and determined. I am astoundingly amazed from beginning to end !! And furthermore, the shop was clean, artsy, fun, and the music was spot on!! Fantastic experience: I had envisioned getting a Templar’s Cross tattoo for over 30 years but was unsure about the final design. After discussing several ideas with Zac, he helped bring everything together into a design that exceeded my expectations. I was truly blown away by the finished tattoo—his attention to detail and creativity were outstanding. Fantastic experience: Had the best experience with Nico at Borrowed time. We had been talking about my tattoo for a while and from the beggining, it was an exceptional experience. His level of skill is beyond most and is by far the most comfortable tattoo I’ve ever had. Extremely pleased with the outcome and for sure will get more tattoos with him. Besides Nico, all the staff, all the artists super friendly making you feel even more comfortable and at ease, almost as if you were visiting friends. You cannot go wrong here.

Nico helped me create a new fine line script for my ribs and then touch up a 30 year old tattoo. He brought it back to life and it was best surprise. Fantastic experience: Just had the best experience with Steffy at this dope shop here in FTL. I only met Steffy recently and when I told her the tattoo id been wanting for a while she got back to me immediately scheduling a time to come in only days later. Once I got to the shop she was prepared with a full Pinterest board dedicated to the tattoo I wanted, and she nailed it on the first try. The design the font everything it was like she was reading my mind. Super soft hand, totally seamless and painless and just overall a great experience. Can’t wait for the next one.

Negative experience: I’m leaving this review with genuine disappointment. I booked a 3-day tattoo appointment with Jon nearly a year in advance and paid a $1,500 deposit. Unfortunately, due to serious medical reasons, I am no longer able to receive tattoo services now or in the future. I informed the shop 11 months in advance, hoping that would be more than considerate notice. Despite this, the shop has repeatedly refused to refund my deposit and has pushed only for rescheduling, even after being told that I am medically unable to proceed at any point going forward. I made every effort to resolve this directly and respectfully with the business, but was met with dismissiveness and unprofessional communication. I spoke with Jay (Jon Nelson’s admin assistant) and Brandon (the shop manager/financial admin). Both declined my request without any willingness to discuss reasonable options. I was initially told that the finance department would be consulted, but when I asked for contact information to follow up, I was abruptly informed by Brandon that he was the finance department. This interaction made it clear that my situation wasn’t being taken seriously from the start. I was truly excited for this experience and was traveling all the way from Chicago specifically to work with this artist. As a first-time client who has never canceled or no-showed, I expected to be treated with professionalism, especially given the extreme advance notice and extraordinary circumstances. Instead, I encountered a lack of empathy and a refusal to work with me during an already difficult time in my life. I’ve never been so disappointed in the way a well-known and reputable studio has handled a situation. I regret that this was my experience, and I hope others are treated with more understanding and respect.

Fantastic experience: Tried to go back and give this shop another 5 stars after booking a trip from NH to FL specifically to be tattooed by Nico again. Booking was easy, Nico was attentive by sending ideas and creating the designs ahead of time. The shop was clean as always and my 11 hour session felt like just a few hours because of how painless Nico’s technique is. Line work, detail, and shading are out of this world. Healing process was easy peasy and I am completely stoked by the way everything came out!! THANK YOU SO MUCH GUYS see you next year !!!

Fantastic experience: I recently had an appointment with Jon Nelson of Borrowed Time. My first impression was that the staff was very chill, hospitality was high. I brought an idea with no references due to the imagine being only in my head. Have him the details, and he created a masterpiece. The tattoo session itself was also amazing. Jon is a mad scientist behind the machine. Light handed, extremely detailed, and I could not be happier with the outcome come of the piece. I will be going back for any other work I want to get done. I highly recommend Borrowed time, and am glad that they allowed me to Borrow their time.

Fantastic experience: I traveled from Missouri for a back to back 2 day tattoo done by Jon Nelson. First off, his work speaks for itself. Phenomenal detail and I was absolutely blown away by the design and tattoo. He was extremely receptive to my design input and the consultation was absolutely inclusive of both his and my input. This dude absolutely cares about what hes tattooing and the client receiving the tattoo. When scheduling, Brandon was was very helpful, professional, and easy to work with. The whole shop was 1,000% a blast to spend 2 days with. I came in day 1 a stranger and left day 2 feeling like a friend. Being tattooed at this shop is an absolutely phenomenal experience and worth traveling in or out of state to have. Nearly everyone in the shop asked me if I was good and asked if I needed anything and interacted with me in some meaningful way. I also want to make a shoutout to Danny and Chris who really went out of their way for me resulting in literally the best customer service I have received. Tattoos can hurt, but my kidneys hurt the most from all of the laughing and good times. This shop is incredible. I will be back.

He also gave very thorough after care instructions. Highly recommend and cannot wait until this heals and we start the 2nd half of the tattoo!

Fantastic experience: I've been to this tattoo studio twice now and both visits have been exceptional! The atmosphere is welcoming and professional making it easy to relax and enjoy the experience. This most recent time, I saw Phil to get a memorial tattoo for my dog who passed away recently. He was very nice, patient (as I debated where I wanted the tattoo) and provided me with a few different options for the design. He paid great attention to detail and had a light touch. The tattoo turned out amazing and I am SO happy with it! I will definitely be returning for my next tattoo.

Fantastic experience: I flew all the way from philly to come here! its been over 6 months since Cam did a few bangers for me, very simple line work but required essentially a perfect steady hand due to how simple the designs are with nothing to hide behind. when i tell you i get compliments all the time on how PERFECT they look. they genuinely dont even look hand drawn it looks like it was done with a machine. & you wouldn’t believe it was COMPLETELY PAINLESS! idk what this guy does but it literally doesnt hurt bro. hes a wizard. such an old soul with a young spirit, incredibly talented. Cam will have to die for me to ever get tattooed by anyone else ever again. he has a lot of integrity for what he does. also everyone is sooo friendly & professional, no judgement on what you wanna get. will be back this year for more!

Fantastic experience: I can't speak enough about this shop. I walked in with a decent sized group, 5 out of 8, to see about getting tattooed. I have never felt more welcomed by the staff! Everyone was so friendly and laid back, which was needed after a hell of a day with canceled flights, struggling to get back to VA after a vacation, and feeling defeated. The shop was clean, organized, and there were so many cool pieces on the wall. We were all able to get consults, sketched, and tattooed! Cam was amazing and easy to talk to during my tattoo, even has been to VA! The flowers I got done for my kids is better than I could ever dream. Very professional and was very patient with me since it was my first tattoo ! Tattoo turned out great! Nico I’m sorry to keep you late. Costumer service goes without saying. I got a pillow for comfort and him and Ricardo tried to keep me warm the whole time by giving me their hoodies. Ricardo also brought me a tootsie pop because my blood sugar was low. When I asked for a picture they didn’t hesitate, when I asked to sign my t-shirt they went extra mile to make sure I got great experience. Danny, Ricardo, and Cam were wonderful and talented artists that guided our tattoo process every step of the way. They were patient, made us feel comfortable, and answered all questions. We will be returning from NY to get additional work done. HIGHLY recommend.

Negative experience: COMPLETE NIGHTMARE!!!! Scott quoted my wife $1500 for her tattoo… For a total of two payments, and after the first session, we gave the 750+ $100 tip, after the second session they asked for $1500… A whole extra $750 that wasn’t spoke about! My wife and I walked out the door, looking at each other in complete disbelief and felt like we were taken for! Unfortunately, it doesn’t stop there…Oscar He performs a tattoo on my leg and it did come out nice for $350! After this, I laid down a payment for $200 for a half sleeve and explained to him in great detail what it was that I wanted, all the way up to the planned date to get the tattoo I was never given any picture or notice of what the tattoo was going to look like, unfortunately, because of the hurricane, I had to go to the other coast of Florida to help my family and reschedule, I understood coming back in for my wife’s second session that I prolong the process and I gave another $800 as a deposit, I missed a 1 o’clock meeting on Monday due to work and told them that I would come in with $1000 the next day… at this point, I wanted to add to the tattoo and do my right peck on my chest! Apparently it up to cost $4000 more as I was already quoted $4000, in order to proceed with the tattoo, Oscar said that he was going to design the whole thing and that the total cost for the tattoo needed to be paid upfront for $8000. Clearly unacceptable, at this point I had given $1000 for a tattoo that wasn’t remotely close to what it was that I wanted. My wife and I clearly had to take a loss now of $1000 deposit for a tattoo that had nothing of what I had asked for and apparently their tattoo artist think that they can just tattoo whatever the hell they want and that you need to be happy with it. Would never go here again! They are thieves !!! Watch out unfortunately I had to “Rate” one star in order to post this…. They would simply have never of gotten that.

Fantastic experience: I got my first tattoo with Steffy, one of the many amazing artists at borrowed time! She was so welcoming and definitely made me feel super comfortable! Steffy was so professional and her vibes are great! I am so happy with how my tattoo came out! Her line work is absolutely insane. I got a dainty piece and so far within a month of the healing process it is looking amazing. I will definitely be booking with her again!

Fantastic experience: I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Steffy at Borrowed Time. Steffy, AKA artorcry on IG, made my custom sword process as easy as ever and she always remained kind and professional during the entire process. Working with her on designing the sword, I really appreciated her listening to everything I wanted and making it come to life perfectly, I couldn’t be happier with her design, shading and lining. First photo is a month healed! It looks incredible! Also, everyone at the stop was very friendly and you could tell they go out of their way to make you feel comfortable! Vibes were a 10/10, tattoo 10/10, staff 10/10, cleanliness 10/10!

Fantastic experience: Just finished the first session of a new tattoo with the new apprentice artist Logan. This is the second tattoo he's done for me and he is absolutely fantastic. Pays attention to detail so much, checks up on you throughout the tattoo, and he doesn't mind stopping to take a break if needed. Overall makes it a great experience which will keep me coming back. Very professional and will definitely work with you to give you exactly what you want. Couldn't recommend anyone better thats new to the tattoo scene. Definitely looking forward to the second session to finish this masterpiece

Fantastic experience: My wife and I went and got matching tattoos in memory of her mom and Rob and the crew were incredible. Rob was amazing with his detail and perfection so our tattoos would be identical. They all make you feel like family and we would definitely recommend using them to put your story as a tattoo on your body. Thank you again Borrowed Time for making this a great experience.

Fantastic experience: Went to Mady with my best friend for a couple piercings and had an amazing experience! She is very knowledgeable, will let you know if you have appropriate anatomy for certain piercings, and she is simply a lovely soul. I’ve had many piercers over the years, but I would say that she has been my favorite. I was visiting from out of state but will definitely be visiting her again on my next trip. Highly recommend her to anyone looking to get stabbed.

Fantastic experience: Came here on vacation & wanted something to remember my trip, Rob did my watercolor palm tree and I absolutely love it! He made sure my experience was great & made me feel very comfortable. While there, I was very nervous about a piercing I wanted but Maddie was very, very sweet and calming & she made sure to explain everything to me. Ill definetly be back next year ❤️ this experience has been all around AMAZING!

Fantastic experience: Their piercer, Madalyn, is so nice!! I've gone to her a few times now and she's always fun to talk to and great at her job! Her work space is always tidy and she's very quick to help you decide what you want! I've gotten a few piercings from her now and plan to get more in the future:)

Fantastic experience: This shop is amazing! I let my friend Monique talk Meghan and I into “going away” tattoos and piercings last night. We just showed up to Borrowed Time with no appointments and they were so accommodating. We felt so welcomed especially by the manager Danny who was so funny! Mady did my friend Meghan’s piercing and she was so sweet! Amanda did my tattoo and was so gentle I could hardly feel it. Everyone else in the shop was so nice as well! This place is top tier and I would highly recommend it to everyone!

Fantastic experience: Came in as a walk-in and was taken care of so quick. Every one was so nice and funny and the place was clean with a chill vibe. Luke was my artist and was super relaxed and easy to work with to make a concept come to life. My tattoo turned out better than expected and i'll definitely be coming back again. One of the artists also sung and danced a few times which i can only assume to be free entertainment to distract from tattoo pain. Great place!
