Fantastic experience: I just got my first piercing with Joe and it couldn't have gone any better! There was barely any pain felt and he provided me the information I needed to help maintain the health of the piercing. He was also a superstar and helped me out with a previous piercing, which he didn't do, but I needed some help with. Would absolutely recommend the Old Fort for any piercings that you may be thinking of getting done. My appointment was done through Instagram which was so handy, the shop itself is clean and staff were all so friendly. I'll definitely be back for another piercing and based on my experience today, I'd love for them to help create my next mini tattoo!

Negative experience: Walked in 4 a nostril piercing, the piercer was 2 busy on a Tuesday afternoon so I had 2 book in a service that takes literally one minute 2 b done. Eventually booked on the instagram as I was asked for today after a l8 reply and many attempt. Got there by train at the right time from portarlington 2 finally hear the piercer was sick. They could have told me in the morning 2 avoid unnecessary trip. No stars hope you close soon. Very expensive jewelry and lazy staff too.

Fantastic experience: Run by lovely off-beat couple who really took care of my nervous daughter. They did it properly with no short cuts, for instance changed gloves after popping out to greet incoming customers.

Fantastic experience: I usually never share reviews but I felt I had to in this case. I contacted Joe about a problematic piercing (which was done elsewhere)and Joe couldn’t have been more professional. Nothing was an issue as I was freaking out over this piercing! Joe quickly changed to a longer bar and asked me to keep in contact with him if I had any problems with healing over the next few weeks. Negative experience: Went in for a tattoo the other day and came out extremely disappointed with my tattoo and experience at Old Fort. It took the artist 4 attempts to get the stencil on properly, and he then told me that he would draw it on straighter, and in the end it looked as if it were done by a child. I was told this work would cost €250 before my appointment, but the artist even removed some elements of the original design and we also decided to make it smaller and no adjustment was made to the price at all to accommodate for this. I went to another reputable studio in town for a second opinion after getting the tattoo and they confirmed that the tattoo was extremely bad quality and that Old Fort had charged me about twice the going rate for the tattoo. They said the average price for this work in other studios would be between €120-€150. I would really encourage people to do some research and ask around before considering getting work done here.

Adam is the only piercer I trusted and one of the most reliable people I ever got to work with. The business would run wonderful by great people and I loved the tattoo I got. Everyone there are the sweetest and coolest people you'll meet, very transparent about consent and everything going at your pace. They're fun and caring, understanding and good craic. Old Fort's pricing has always been reasonable even with the level of high quality jewelry used. Would and have recommend to anyone.
