Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing customer service walked into the shop few weekends ago to book my tattoo of my newborn sons name an date of birth charlee came straight over to great me lovely atmosphere tattooist are very friendly had my tattoo today and couldn’t be happier it’s not a rush job everything was made to perfection I highly recommend looking at the decor :) I’ve got the bug for more so have booked myself in again to add more to it visit this shop you won’t be disappointed regards Ryan

Fantastic experience: I had my left arm sleeve reworked by Charlee at The Descent of Man Tattoo, and I genuinely couldn’t be more impressed. What used to be a tattoo I felt the need to hide has now become one of my favourite pieces - bold, clean, and beautifully reimagined. Charlee didn’t just fix the old work,she transformed it into something completely new, detailed, and full of life. Because I have full sleeves on both arms that need reworking, we booked multiple full‑day sessions to go through each portion of my arm in detail. My left arm is now almost completed, and the transformation is unbelievable. Charlee approached every session with patience, precision, and a clear vision of how to bring everything together seamlessly. Her ability to plan, layer, and refine such a large amount of work is genuinely next‑level. From the very first consultation, Charlee was honest, thoughtful, and incredibly knowledgeable about what was possible with a rework. She took the time to understand what I wanted, offered expert guidance, and created a design that exceeded every expectation I had. Charlee is very friendly, has a truly professional approach, and always advises you on what will work best for your skin, your existing tattoos, and your long‑term vision. She also works in any style depending on what people prefer, which makes her incredibly versatile and able to bring any idea to life. Everyone in the studio is so welcoming and friendly - the atmosphere instantly puts you at ease. It’s the kind of place where you feel comfortable spending long sessions, and the team genuinely makes the whole experience even better. The rework is flawless you’d never know how much needed correcting underneath. I’ve already had so many compliments, and for the first time in years, I feel confident showing my arm again. I will definitely be coming back for more tattoos, not just work on my arms. When you find an artist with this level of talent, honesty, and care, you stick with them. If you’re looking for a true professional who specialises in reworks, large‑scale transformations, and any tattoo style you can imagine, Charlee is the one. Fantastic experience: Jodie is Amazing!! Shes done 4 out of my 6 tattoos and I don’t think I would ever go to anyone else! I’ve done full day sessions and she’s absolutely smashed the designs and the execution of them as well as keeping me motivated and encouraged me to keep going and get them finished even when they were getting tough and Spicy! But she also makes sure that you are comfortable and ok with continuing. She’s always happy to make any tweaks as and where needed and always wants you to be 100% happy with the design! The whole Descent of Man team are awesome and so friendly to make your experience a great one! Molly & Jodie make a great team in the studio upstairs! Would highly recommend if you want the best tattoo and experience to go to anyone of the team especially Jodie!

The artists regularly check on you to see how you're doing, and are happy for you to take breaks if needed. My artist, Immy, is so talented, would highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Came in today for my Ironman 70.3 triathlon tattoo... It was an extremely big deal to me because I did it to honour my son who passed.. Charlee was absolutely amazing. Had me smiling from the second I walked it (and still smiling now). The work she did is outstanding and I am beyond happy with the results. A very friendly team who make you feel relaxed but a team you can have a laugh with too. Brit did my chest tattoo and she was amazing!! It was her first time doing a chest tattoo and she smashed it. Previously going to a tattooist that's part of a chain and them taking my money leaving me with awful work I was scared to go anywhere else, but the descent of man are amazing and have proved that not all tattooist are the same. Don't go anywhere but here if you want top quality tattoos and after care.

Charlee did my first tattoo when she was an apprentice and my most recent tattoo a couple months ago, I've been happy with every tattoo over the years. I really love my most recent one as she nailed the dot work and it healed perfectly.

All three artist (Charlie, Cookie and Immy) are genuinely down to earth and lovely people who make getting a tattoo as chill as possible. Apart from friendliest, it's always great to see how they vibe and ping of each other when coming to the design and placement of the tattoo. Fantastic experience: I've had multiple tattoos from the descent of man now, by both Cookie and Charlee. Most recently Charlee did a memorial piece for my Daughter who we sadly lost at 17 weeks. Charlee expressed so much thought and care behind the piece. She took extra care in detailing my Daughter tiny tiny feet, the detail is incredible and from one artist to another their work is flawless. 10/10 thank you for your professionalism and compassion.

The shop itself is absolutely stunning, when you walk in and see the Victorian inspired decor and curiosities, you know you are in a creative space! I have been getting tattooed by Charlee over the last 6 years and always feel welcomed and looked after by her. She is professional, fun, and always enthusiastic about my ideas - which makes me feel really valued as a client. I love every piece I have had done and always look forward to the next! All the tattooists at the shop are friendly and approachable, there’s always a good atmosphere (and soundtrack!) and the hygiene levels and aftercare are excellent.

Fantastic experience: The Descent of Man is a brilliant tattoo shop, and Charlee is an artist I’ve been going too for years, most of my tattoos are done by her. The shop itself is a nice place to stay for a few hours, nice and accommodating with music on, and cups of tea being made and making for a nice and comfortable experience. Charlee is amazingly skilled, she’s always making sure you’re happy with the design before she starts, ensure she’s got any colours correct too, and explains how they’ll change on your skin from the actual ink colour, so you’ll always be happy. I’ve never had a bad experience here, and I’ve booked in for my next one already.
