Fantastic experience: I was going to go in because I saw the displays but didn’t realise it was a tattoo shop. 5 stars for the front windows

Negative experience: Edit: I ended up getting blocked online by them for calling them out for using AI images of tattoos. My tattoo was done by Molly which I LOVE.

Negative experience: Gods of ink in Gloucester town centre. I booked in for a tattoo removal (30 a session or the whole thing for 150) had two sessions and “the technician moved away” (I guess we all know the reason now) so they told me I’d have to wait for a new technician, they never got one so I commented under their post asking for my money and they told me to send the bank details which I did then they didn’t reply. When I asked what’s going on they told me the owners had changed so I’d have to take it up with the old owners. Fast forward a few months and another post comes up explaining how it’s been the same owners as all through lockdown so I comment on the post and they reply asking me again how much is owed and my bank details so I sent them over again and they keep ignoring me I know it’s not a one off occurance but people seem to only complain if it’s anonymous. They only seem to reply or understand if it’s public such as a comment on their post .This is not a post complaining about any of the artists I’ve had a tattoo done by John and it’s fire the owners are nothing but rude scammers

Fantastic experience: I’m late writing this review, but my brother and I both highly rate our tat experience with Mexican John in July. We wanted a small pair of tattoos on our respective big toes - bit of a random design and request, but it was no problem to John who absolutely pulled it out the bag with a fab design. This was my first tattoo and I can honestly say it was a great experience. John is super talented and our little fun picture when we place our toes together means a lot to us! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend G.O.I. to anyone who wants some ink! Thank you :)

Fantastic experience: Went in for a tattoo today and I Absolutely loved the tattoo artist Molly! She was so reassuring as it was my first big tattoo on the back of my leg. I absolutely would come back to have another one done by Molly again! In love with my tattoo and was amazed with how attentive she was in making sure it was the right size, in the right place and how she made me feel really comfortable and at ease! Recommend Molly 100% and will be back again soon!

Fantastic experience: I got a tattoos done not too long ago by Molly. They look amazing. Super clean lines and exactly what I asked for. The customer service was lovely soon as you walked through the door. She took her time to listen to what I wanted and to make the tattoos how I asked. Once we got started on the tattoos she was super chatty and friendly and made me feel really comfortable. Would definitely recommend and would 100% go back to Molly

Negative experience: I came here for a tattoo yesterday and can say I’m very annoyed with the service I received from the admin side of things. I was booked in to get 4 tattoos totalling £90. I had a £30 voucher and also paid a £30 deposit, so only had £30 left to pay once the tattoo was completed. I did originally book to get a matching tattoo with my sister in law which would have been £60 for both, meaning I’d have paid an extra £30. Unfortunately my sister in law couldn’t make it so I didn’t get the matching tattoo. When I arrived at the studio I was told I had £90 still left to pay, which was clearly wrong and I had the messages from Facebook to prove this. Upon explaining to the gentleman behind the desk all the information I had in regards of how much I was required to pay, he then went outside and contacted the woman who books people in. When he came back in he told me that the deposit I paid was £15 for me and £15 for my sister in law, however, this was not explained to me AT ALL throughout the booking process. We established after looking through all the messages that I was in fact correct and there was only £30 left for me to pay. Molly, (who was absolutely amazing, I cannot fault her) completed my tattoos and I then went down to pay and everything was fine, there appeared to be no issues. It’s worth noting my appointment was at 2pm and I was out of the studio by 3pm. At 6:20pm I received a message from the studio Facebook saying “yours was £90 to pay today and your friend 30?” This was completely out of the blue but I messaged back, see below screenshot. I have not received any message since and quite frankly the communication I have received through Facebook has been disgusting and so unprofessional. Every single time I’ve messaged the page previously the messages I’ve received back have been blunt and unprofessional. I’ve always given benefit of the doubt and turned a blind eye to this as the artists are lovely. However after the communication, and lack of, that I received yesterday I will NOT be returning and I encourage anyone else to think twice before booking a tattoo here unless you want them to try and scam you. I’m very lucky I’m clued on and keep screenshots for proof when it comes to money, someone else might not be as lucky.

Fantastic experience: I recently had my first tattoo with John. Honestly, he was an excellent artist and person in general. I am really impressed with the service and my tattoo. If I get another tat later down the line I will 100% be going back.

Negative experience: Booked in multiple times first time the artist had no idea I was coming second and third time over the course of nearly a year both cancelled on me taken time off work paid in full clearly just flobing me off absolute waste of time and money now seeking legal advice to get my money back Oh and don't waste your money on vouchers as it will never be honoured

Negative experience: Terrible booking system, booked a tattoo via Facebook messenger, turned up on date and time of which was booked, to be told there was no record of the booking. Bare in mind, we had booked 2 weeks prior to the appointment! Excuse of the woman taking bookings having health issues is utter crap as she is quick enough taking the deposit monies.. also, if health issues are effecting her work,(Evident they are!!) hire someone more reliable, efficient, organised and competent!!! Especially when she is dealing with people’s monies for deposits. Disgusting booking system that seriously needs reviewing!

Positive experience: My partner booked tattoos through Facebook messenger for 11am on Friday the 24/01/2025. The response time was quick and all questions answered via the messages. The deposit of £40 had been paid, this was for a pair of matching tattoos and a lower leg piece for my partner! Which was great, as these could be completed at the same time without another booking required! We arrived today and spoke with the gentleman at the front desk. We explained we have a pre booked appointment but, turns out we hadn't been entered into the diary! This left both myself and the gent on the front desk rather confused. Luckily we had the messages for proof. After reading the reviews this seems to be a common issue. This needs sorting to stop any confusion for both staff and paying customers. This is the only reason why it's not a 5 star review! After expressing our concern to the gent on front desk, he politely and quickly checked If the artist was available for booking! Luckily Kate was on hand to help out, I can say that Kate honestly changed what was a disappointing start into a great experience! Considering this was my first tattoo. Kate completed the leg tattoo on my partner first which was done excellently and in fantastic time. Kate then carried out the wrist tattoo on both myself and my partner, which was done swiftly! Thank you for your speedy, polite and friendly attitude Kate! I hope the owners read this review and sort the booking situation out, this would of easily of been a 5 star review if that hadn't of happened. Kind regards, Kye.

Negative experience: My daughter booked and paid deposit back in Oct for a tattoo today for her 18th birthday and when we got there they had no record of the booking and couldn’t get her in until a hour after the time She was booked in for. We weren’t able to wait for the hour due to other commitments so asked for the deposit back. In the first instance they told us they couldn’t do anything in store and we needed to get the refund back through the Facebook but when we messaged while in store the message back stated that sometimes the artists are running late so not to worry! We stated that no booking was found and we received a thumbs up!! We finally got the deposit back from the receptionist who wasn’t at fault and I think he’s had to deal with this kind of thing before. GOI you really should be updating your diaries when receiving bookings/deposits to at least match!! EDIT after having a reply. No she wasn’t provided a slot the diary was open on the desk and the receptionist looked and there was no booking. We were not told anyone was running late at all we were offered a slot 1 hour after her booking. Then we were told we would have to contact the person through Facebook messenger to get the deposit back but as the booking was confirmed through this method and not communicated through to the diary bookings we were not confident in the communication process to get the deposit back that way hence why we asked for there and then.

Negative experience: Very bad tattoo done when I tried to reply to thier message I was blocked had to go elsewhere to have it put right, I can only comment on Kate but the large cross my friend had done by one of the other girls was awsome

Negative experience: What a crap place. The artists are lovely, the 'owners' are what ruin this place. I booked 4 times for my day sit and was sent away each time as there had been a 'mix up'. The owneer then who apparently no one can ever get ahold of thought of excuse after excuse and tried to blame other people for something that was her fault. I was then promised a £50 refund which i still haven't received. The artists are great however the owner is not and I really recommend you don't go here unless you'd like to be messed about and have your money robbed. What a tip.

Negative experience: Gods of ink are scammers. Took a £100 deposit for a tattoo and cancelled my girlfriend’s appointment on 4 occasions. One when we had actually already arrived and then were told via Facebook it had been cancelled, not even the decency to call. They agreed to refund us the money and since then are ignoring messages and haven’t refunded a single penny. They are as dodgy as it comes. Also there’s about 4 previous shops all on Gloucester which makes me think they’re running from money troubles or up to something dodgy. AVOID at all costs!

Fantastic experience: Have gotten four tattoos here over the years and have never been disappointed. Staff are lovely and prices are reasonable, even better if you go during special events like 'ladies night'.

Positive experience: I'm afraid I'm having to amend my review. I was tattooed a few months back, and I can't fault the tattoo's I really like them; but they required some touch ups. I booked an appointment only to turn up on the day to find that they had no record of my appointment and told that I'd have to rebook. I've been trying for three weeks to get a new appointment and haven't had a single response, not even an apology for the mix up. I'll now be going elsewhere to get someone else to finish them off.

Negative experience: Wouldn't recommend at all. After being pissed about for multiple days, telling me I'm booked in them going in for the appointment and being turned away because I'm not booked in THEN being given an extremely overpriced tattoo that was nothing like what I'd asked for, I am not impressed to say the least. Never going back, I'd had hope for this studio but everything about it is an absolute joke. Don't bother wasting your time here. Find a good studio with good artists, not just people looking for good money for bad service

Fantastic experience: Just a quick edit. I have had 3 more tattoos from these guys since moving. I will purposely travel back the 2.5hrs to Gloucester to get more ink. 100% recommend! These guys are awesome. So friendly and patient. I've recently had a few tattoos here from different artists and I'm definitely coming back. One I've had done, I had no clue what I wanted, just a rough idea and Mexican John drew something there and then and we've gradually been extending it. It'll eventually become a sleeve. I'm moving away this year and I'll be making a point to come in whenever I'm back for more exceptional work. Thank you for your time guys, its always a pleasure.

Positive experience: Quick, efficient and friendly. I love my tattoos and the pricing is competitive. The building inside and upstairs is so lovely too and makes it comfortable. I would perhaps look to be a bit more responsive with messages as no bookings are taken over the phone. A thumbs up when someone is nervous seems a little unresponsive.

If you’re ever looking for a comfortable, chill place to be tattooed with a lovely & talented team then gods of ink is the place to go. We don’t live in Gloucester anymore but happily traveled the 3 hour journey to be tattooed by John. 10/10 experience - would recommend to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Today I went to God's of ink for my first ever tattoo at the ripe old age of 50 ish :). Mexican John came highly recommended and wow he certainly didn't disappoint. I wanted John to capture my little dog Bella who sadly passed away 6 weeks ago. I'll look in the mirror each day from now and smile and cry. I couldn't have wanted for a better tattoo as John captured every single detail and mannerisms of my darling Bella. The consumate professional. Spoke to all the artists and you couldn't want for a more inviting and friendlier atmosphere for your first time. These guys are magician's.

Negative experience: Where do I begin? Well all I can say is don’t buy vouchers! Absolutely disgusting customer service. My ink isn’t as good since a few artist have gone! I wouldn’t let them tattoo a cow let alone me!! The customer service is awful. The back chat is awful and when you book an appointment you never really know if it’s in their diary as they seem to have alot of problems with bookings!! I was meant to be paid a refund from a voucher that was Jan! The “lady” who does banking has the worst bad luck ever! You need to pay a deposit to book thru banking yet you can’t get refunds!! I wasn’t going to write anything but I’m now 4/5 months in waiting for a refund. Honestly don’t buy vouchers!!!

Negative experience: We agree with the skills of the tattooist being good, my daughter had numerous tattoos here. Sadly, due to lack of organisation and poor customer communication over a voucher scheme (please note, other reviews also fault the voucher service). Despite numerous attempts to have money refunded, we have still not received cost. I imagine if this review isn't deleted by GOI they will probably reply with their unprofessional response as I have seen on other negative reviews, aswel as the negative responses they have replied to my messages.

Fantastic experience: Awesome work. Will use everytime from now on. Had 3 pieces of work done now, one of which was a horrendous cover up for mark to attempt and it came out looking amazing.

From booking to the final piece completed the team at G.O.I were absoloutly fantastic everyone is super friendly and welcoming and if/when I decide on another I will definitely not go anywhere else. It was just a walk in and they straight away said of course. The lady who inked me took the time to help me chose my design and showed me the the very delicate process of adding my baby's ashes into the ink. It healed perfectly thanks to you guys I will always carry my little man around with me...so again. Thank you x

Negative experience: Worst experience ever, very unhygienic and unprofessional. I got my tattoo done at G.O.I and so did my friend. My friend was underage and they never even bothered to ask her for her ID. My tattoo on my collar bone was very rushed, the line work is wobbly and pieces are missing/faded. I then got another in my ankle with hope things would be different and it was just my skin but the ink was put too deep into the skin! Do not recommend

Negative experience: I would give the artists a 5 star,especially Mexican John and juris whom I had lovely work done by,but that female who makes the appointments whom I wouldn’t name makes it terribly for business,she wouldn’t take card,which is a red flay for the tax man,but dispite that,wouldn’t give you an exact price dispite the pic and explanation,then when you arrive,it’s a different price,dispite cancellation and you may have to wait on your time she values nothing like that,don’t take accountability for her actions atall..it’s sad to see some people in the wrong field of business….Just a matter of time ️ I can safely say the artists @ G.0.I hovever are brilliant,check Mexican John &Jurius!

She was really nice and friendly and made us feel at ease Second trip was to Juris for a slightly bigger tattoo. Spent an hour chatting away with Juris. Really great guy and the tattoo was absolutely perfect, exactly what I wanted. He was very informative about the positioning of the tattoo, the process, aftercare and checked in with me a lot during the time I was there. He kept me up to date with how things were going. Can’t fault anything about either experience.

He was right about the size as I did want a smaller one, but I adore my tattoo just one size bigger like he suggested. If I were ever to get another tattoo it would probably be here! Fantastic experience: Went to gods of ink today to get some tattoos done,I'm very happy with the work the staff are fantastic,friendly atmosphere,made me feel at ease. I will definitely be going back. If you want outstanding tattoo work done this is the place to go.

Fantastic experience: So I’ve been going to gods for many years now started when they had their first shop down town I’ve heard stories about a lot of people being mean and putting a lot of fake reviews on here about them so I want to put the story straight I’ve been going to them for work about 14 yrs now and their a wonderfull team in fact I’m in the middle of a head peice with Mexican John at the moment the atmosphere in their is not like some studios they make you feel welcome and relaxed right from word one and most importantly their honesty if theirs an element to a tattoo you request they think wouldn’t sit well or look right they will tell you of course you have the option to have it done and they will but they will always advise if they think it wouldn’t look right and that’s because their they know what their doing your skin is their advertising they want people to say hey where did you get that done I’ve got a hand peice they done 12 years ago for me and I still get asked who did that so if you want some good ink from good people go their this is a genuine reveiw from a long standing client update just had some more work done at gods their doing the mental health awareness tattoos again today 05/04/23 and donating to charity I think it’s awesome their supporting such an important cause so show some love and get your ink from their you won’t find a better studio anywhere close the best In Gloucester hands down

Fantastic experience: I had a tattoo done one the top of my arm from juris second tattoo from him had one done in the summer on my foot and he was so good then have also had a back tattoo from Mexican John and his work is amazing always book in with gods of ink never had any issues

Fantastic experience: I have had most of my tattoos done at GOD. I’ve had Mexican John do my Amazing scuba diver, juris did three of my tattoos including Māori on my ankle, mark has done a piece on my ribs for my late baby and an older employee did my ocean piece. All of my tattoos have been stunning and I’ve not had any issues with any of them. The tattooists make you feel very welcome and your always guaranteed to have a giggle. I’ve also had my ears pierced here by Lisa and I’ve had no issues. Amazing service, great conversations and I’ll be back for my others soon. Well done guys keep up the good work x

Fantastic experience: Since January (2023) I’ve had 5 tattoos done with Molly and Kate (2 days ago was my last one) and I couldn’t be happier. After having many tattoos done else where I have finally found somewhere I feel comfortable! Everyone in GOI are super chatty and friendly. Super hygienic and clean environment. Couldn’t recommend them enough! I’ll be popping in much more often!
